HURT YOU NEVER produced a much better effort to take the silver medal home at Catterick last month and is just 1lb higher. Adrian Nicholls' six-year-old might only need to reproduce that level of form in order to go one better. Kyber Crystal is a C&D winner who finished a fair fifth behind the selection and is likely to be thereabouts off the same mark. Refuge won this a couple of years ago and is another to note.

This can go to HURT YOU NEVER who comes into this off the back of a good effort at Catterick and remains favourably treated.

A drop in trip worked a treat for the recent Leicester 6f winner WAISTCOAT and there could be more to come from him. A 3lb nudge up in the ratings may prove inconsequential for the son of Sea The Stars and he's preferred to The Cola Brasil. Michael Bell's inmate arrives on the back of a solid second at Wolverhampton and he isn't taken lightly off a 7lb lower mark on turf. Ever Driven is the pick of the remainder.

Veteran mare DIAMOND COTTAGE probably needed her recent reappearance outing and has become well handicapped.

The first-time-blinkered VANDERBILT HOUSE showed nice form as a juvenile and again ran to a useful level in March. She normally races with the pace, which suits for Sligo, and although beaten at the Curragh on her recent reappearance, she nonetheless ran well in defeat, with the runner-up again second next time out. Wait For It finished ahead of a subsequent winner at Dundalk in November. She drops back in distance on her reappearance, but should get involved. Agouti Bear was well held in a Cork handicap last October, but had shown form in maidens.

This looks a good opportunity for VANDERBILT HOUSE who can make her fitness edge count over Wait For It and Agouti Bear

Well held in the Fillies' Mile but was 2-2 previously and retains potential; new stable.
LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

FALAKEYAH justified favouritism on debut in impressive style at Wolverhampton in November, shaping as if she would relish this extra distance. Owen Burrows' filly is likely to have lots more to offer and it would be no surprise to see her take this step up in her stride. Anna Swan failed to maintain her unbeaten record when well beaten in the Fillies' Mile here, but this should be a bit easier and she has to be considered. Janey Mackers completes the shortlist.

Most of the runners bring potential. SAND GAZELLE has particularly good credentials and she's first choice ahead of Falakeyah.

MAYBERRY MOON struck at the first time of asking, despite running green, at Carlisle before finishing stone last at Pontefract. The son of Mondialiste was reported to have bled so he is easily excused that effort and can make a winning return to action. Ay Gee Ell brings lots of experience to the table and if Richard Fahey's colt puts his best foot forward, he could have a say. His stablemate Azure Zain is one to watch in the market on his racecourse bow.

LTO Selection:hiden content,

ANTHELIA created a big impression when winning on debut at Bath last month and she looks one to keep on the right side of. Rod Millman's filly overcame greenness and may prove too savvy for the newcomers. Madame X, a half-sister to the Italian Group-placed Duc De Morny, boasts enough speed/class in her pedigree to give the selection something to think about, ahead of Piazza.

All three newcomers are interesting but ANTHELIA should be all the wiser for her Bath win which was quite impressive in the end.

CHESTER NIMITZ has shown consistently useful form and should be fine reverting to this distance. He bumped into a gambled-on debut winner at Bellewstown last month, with that form boosted by the third scoring subsequently, and he seems ground-versatile. Titan Sun attracted late market support when running well on his Curragh debut last October. Out of a Listed winner, he is open to plenty of progression, although he meets the more experienced selection. Ceo Stealth Mode was a 150,000-euro breeze-up purchase and although he could be quite useful, he didn't race as a juvenile and debuts at a difficult, turning course for newcomers.

The drop back in trip should enable the clear top-rated CHESTER NIMITZ to get his head in front with his rider taking off a handy 3lb

Cinderella's Dream was surprisingly beaten by Choisya in the Group 2 Balanchine at Meydan, but that form was franked in no uncertain terms when her conqueror went on to score at the top level at Keeneland. Even so, RUNNING LION still looks the way to go. The Gosdens' five-year-old signed off her 2024 campaign with a brilliant effort to fill the runner-up spot in the Prix de l'Opera and she boasts course form as she took the Pretty Polly here in 2023. Last year's 1000 Guineas heroine Elmalka is the pick of the remaining trio.

The hat-trick seeking Liosa arrives at the top of his game and, off the same mark as his latest triumph at Kempton, he is sure to have his supporters reverting to turf. However, The Last Lion gelding has yet to prove as effective on this surface, so it could be worth chancing LIL GUFF. The six-year-old made all on her penultimate outing at Bath and she wasn't disgraced on her following fifth at Southwell. The lightly-raced Second Name shouldn't be underestimated either.

Liosa is much respected off a potentially good mark but MISS SHOW OFF will surely enjoy better fortune than last time out.

ARRANGE finished third over 1m4f at Thirsk on her return to the fray and may take a step forward from that display. The seven-year-old is a very consistent performer and she could prove tough to beat. Kitteridge arguably produced a career best when finishing fourth in Listed company at Lingfield in November and has to be taken seriously back in the handicap ranks. Of the remainder, Tafsir makes the most appeal.

The unexposed KITTERIDGE twice made the frame in Listed company last season and may be capable of even better as a 4yo.

RATTLETHEONIONBAG is a 21-race maiden, but has been running consistently well in recent times. Most of her better form is on the all-weather, but she has been placed on turf in the past and failed to gain a breakthrough success by only a short head at Dundalk in March. Dark Enigma went unsold for 900gns both last August and September and now debuts for new connections, on her first run for 338 days. Lightly raced, she was placed on each of her last four starts and notably ran well over C&D last May. Hezahunk beat the selection when winning at Dundalk last month, but has raced just four times in his career on turf.

Preference is for LAKOTA LADY who stayed on nicely over 5f on her handicap debut and she should be well suited by this stiffer test

Kihavah took the Queen's Cup on his return to the Flat and is likely to have his supporters under a 4lb penalty. Liam Swagger is also considered after his third at Chelmsford but the vote goes to ALIGN THE STARS, who ran too badly to be true when finishing stone last behind Kihavah at Musselburgh. Charlie Johnston's four-year-old was victorious in hot handicaps last season and may still have room for manoeuvre off his current mark. Artistic Star is another to keep an eye on.

Liam Swagger holds leading claims but an interesting alternative is ARTISTIC STAR, who runs off an attractive mark back on turf.

Having proved too keen when weakening into fifth in the Feilden at Newmarket, SALLAAL could be worth chancing with that reappearance under his belt. Roger Varian's colt had previously looked one to keep the right side of after making a winning debut as a juvenile at Yarmouth and it is too soon to be writing him off. Arctic Grey cannot be taken lightly judged on his narrow opening victory at Southwell a fortnight ago and he's feared most, ahead of Obito.

The beautifully bred SALLAAL is given another chance. He pulled too hard on his Newmarket return, but retains plenty of potential.

DUMB LOVE is an able type at this level and ran well in a useful race last month. A maiden winner over almost a mile in 2023, she was beaten by a nicely-in winner at Gowran, while the runner-up scored subsequently and today's rival Bynx finished fourth. Stablemate Makaiah is a 12-race maiden, but has useful recent form and stays well. You Make Me Smile struck over hurdles at Clonmel last month and now attempts to follow up on the Flat. Admittedly, last year's form was poor but she can get involved for the places at least.

Gerard O'Leary holds a strong hand and of his two, MAKAIAH gets the nod after her eyecatching second at Navan last month

DESERT FLOWER will likely start a warm order and deservedly so. The daughter of Night Of Thunder displayed top-class form last year, culminating with a convincing victory in the Fillies' Mile over C&D, and an impressive racecourse gallop at the track recently further boosts confidence. Lake Victoria is another filly out of the top drawer, having recorded a hat-trick of wins at the highest level as a two-year-old, including the Cheveley Park here. The Ballydoyle inmate beat Red Letter at the Curragh before that, although the latter would have finished closer than fourth with a clear run. Duty First landed the Fred Darling at Newbury in fine style and can confirm superiority over runner-up Hey Boo.

Desert Flower and Lake Victoria set the standard, while RED LETTER (nap) and Chantilly Lace are interesting challengers.

JUST AN HOUR comfortably took care of his nearest rival by over three lengths to score at Nottingham last month and a 6lb rise might prove to be on the lenient side. Didaar showed more after being gelded over the winter when making the frame at Redcar and should remain competitive off an unchanged rating. Judge Frank looks best of the rest.

Just An Hour is solid but slight preference is for DIDAAR who should be able to build on his encouraging return at Redcar.

BESET now starts off for the quartet, with this one also in the care of Joseph O'Brien. O'Brien is also represented by Cork maiden hurdle winner Carried With Love and top-weight Lemsairbat, with the latter also starting off for the Carriganog handler. C&D winner No Niki No is of definite interest with Billy Lee aboard, while Sacred Oath and Fratas are others for the shortlist in this competitive affair.

TWILIGHT STAR looks the safest proposition rather than guess at the ability of the newcomers. The Godolphin filly finished a respectable third here on last month's debut, having shown plenty of early pace, and a bold bid is anticipated with that initial experience under her belt. Little Havana is a speedily-bred daughter of Havana Grey and any strong support for George Boughey's charge could prove significant. Moira Express is preferred to Spicy Marg of the remaining pair.

Moira Express may be best of the newcomers but TWILIGHT STAR could take a good step forward from her debut third.

The Vital Spark made all when successful over the minimum distance at Newcastle. However, he has a bit prove over this extra furlong based on previous attempts and MISTER SKY BLUE makes more appeal. GOLD CUP DAY caught the eye making late headway at Newbury on his introduction last month. He will have learnt plenty for that experience and this extra furlong will suit the son of Golden Horn. Earnest Belief is a full-brother to the top-notch stayer Coltrane and the newcomer will likely make his presence felt, while Triple Gee is related to middle-distance winners and could also get involved.

Bull Run could be the danger but GOLD CUP DAY has some experience and it was a likeable debut at Newbury.

GRIZABELLA didn't get the rub of the green when runner-up at Cork on her first appearance for Paul Flynn and, granted better luck, she can reward those supporters who keep the faith in her. A switch to more positive tactics helped Top Of The Pops spring a Gowran surprise and he is a danger, especially if able to dictate terms to suit himself. Dynamite Defense's Limerick third was a step in the right direction, while Anjah signed off 2024 with a Dundalk triumph and is worth a look on his comeback.

After a return to form at Cork on ground perhaps slower than ideal, GRIZABELLA edges preference in this low-grade handicap.

Having offered plenty of encouragement on his debut second over C&D last month, MOONFALL sets a good standard for the others to aim at. George Boughey's colt is entitled to build on that performance and a breakthrough victory could be imminent. Rising Power, a 600,000-euro half-brother to smart sprinter Roulston Scar, warrants consideration and market support for the son of Wootton Bassett would be interesting. French Affair is the pick of the other newcomers.

Rising Power is a newcomer of serious interest but MOONFALL looked a winner-in-waiting when second over C&D at the Craven meeting.

ANGELO PIO was a real eyecatcher when a never-nearer fourth on his handicap debut at Navan last month and it'll come as no surprise if he manages to go a few places better now. He showed signs of inexperience when hanging in the closing stages and there should be plenty more to come. Joseph O'Brien trains the selection and is also responsible for Magnolia Drive. While she has shown virtually nothing to date, she still warrants respect off an initial mark of 63. Another with poor form to her name is One Of A Kind. She does represent powerful connections, though, is out of a Listed winner and is tried in blinkers for the first time. Gowran runner-up Ribee, dual winner Tam Lin and Cork third Birdie Time are other leading hopes.

It was an eyecatching handicap debut at Navan from ANGELO PIO (nap) given that he came from last to fourth and found bother in running.

(6) Sir Paul Ramsey 25/1, Below-par upped to 1m on third and final 2yo start in August; off since so possibly not right then; promise previously and 10f could suit (sire a stamina influence), so worth market check.
Absent since August but he's upped in trip for his handicap debut and should improve at 3.

Merchant improved with each run as a juvenile, which saw him end his campaign with a triumph at Wolverhampton. An opening mark of 82 looks workable on his return to action and he is a potential improver stepping up in trip, but HALLELUJAH U is slightly more appealing. The Pinatubo colt is entitled to strip sharper for his third-placed reappearance over C&D last month and that fitness could prove crucial. Lightening Mann is also noted.

Watching Stars and MERCHANT have untapped potential at this trip and the Haggas-trained 3yo is taken to follow up his AW win.
