MOUNT RUAPEHU had been in excellent form on the all-weather prior to his return to turf at Hamilton when just denied over 5f. Despite most of his recent efforts coming in sprints, the six-year-old has run well over this distance before and is taken to get his head back in front. Travis has to be of interest dropping back from a mile after his latest outing at Thirsk, while Asian Journey and Coconut Bay complete the shortlist.

Having run really well in defeat on both starts this season, TRAVIS is taken to return to winning ways. Mount Ruapehu is feared.

Tom Desjy wasn't quite a spent force when parting company with Sean Bowen at Uttoxeter and the champion jockey keeps the faith. Even so, it would be foolish to allow HUCKLEBERRY STING to slip under the radar again because he took to fences like a duck to water at Bangor and is open to any amount of improvement. Delgany Deadline will appreciate the return to this sort of trip, and C&D winners Queens Wish and Cave Article can't be ruled out either.

On a good mark and hopefully sharper for last month's return from a break, C&D winner CAVE ARTICLE gets the nod.

Sandy Craic has returned this season with two solid outings, including when making the frame at Southwell last time, but she will need to improve her finishing effort to get off the mark. With that in mind, ZARVALI makes the most appeal. The son of Dandy Man has been gelded following his nursery debut when runner-up at Fairyhouse in September and the step up in trip might yield improvement on his first start for Roger Fell. Highland Shah and Big Shot Veto are others capable of a decent showing.

Berkshire trainer Jack Channon has a strong record at Catterick and the attractively bred PENNINE WAY is taken to get off the mark.

LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

Dunkerque dug deep to win a novice hurdle at Newcastle, although he started life on the level in Denmark so isn't guaranteed to take to the larger obstacles. In contrast, KARA SACRE is from the family of Sprinter Sacre so is expected to come into his own now presented with a fence. It's not ideal that he starts off on the back of a fall, but he was in command when coming down at Ffos Las and is sure to have been given plenty of schooling since. Seaview Rock is another newcomer to this discipline and can be forgiven his Newcastle no-show.

In the hope that KARA SACRE will settle better over fences, he earns preference as the ability is there to be well handicapped.

LARAVIE looked a different proposition when making every yard of the running at Salisbury just over a week ago and James Owen's mare appears to have more to offer, despite carrying a 4lb penalty. Arctic Fox returned with a solid runner-up effort here over 1m6f and she is likely to confirm the form with Stellarmasterpiece, who finished one place behind Martin Todhunter's veteran.

It is very difficult to oppose LARAVIE, who confirmed she was on an advantageous mark when winning at Salisbury recently.

LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content,

It Takes Two was a place behind a subsequent winner when fifth at Huntingdon, while Crystal Glade's Market Rasen debut wasn't bad, but the bar isn't set too high so this might go to a newcomer. Top of the list is MARIE D'ALTALINARA, who cost 70,000 euros and is related to winners in France. For Her Glory is a half-sister to Listed-winning handicap hurdler Washington, with Go Hr and Mighty Harmony also making some appeal.

Crystal Glade appeals most of those with experience, but this may to go a newcomer and MARIE D'ALTALINARA is narrowly preferred.

With recent solid form thin on the ground, this looks a suitable opportunity for last year's winner IRISH DANCER to get back on the scoresheet. The six-year-old arrives on the back of a respectable third at Southwell and returning to this track will suit. Golden Prosperity scored here three outings ago and rates the biggest danger, ahead of Siviez, who continues to slide down the ratings.

Last year's winner IRISH DANCER (nap) has mostly been running well on the AW and is the selection ahead of Aurora's Doublesix.

Getmyfriend offered enough encouragement on her opening third at Plumpton to suggest that she can make a mark at this level. However, the form of CRYSTALATE's debut fourth at Ludlow has a strong look to it and there is every chance that the four-year-old can make a winning stable bow for Olly Murphy. Newcomer Golden Bouquet requires a market check for top connections.

Others have the benefit of experience but the well-bred GOLDEN BOUQUET is of obvious interest for Nicky Henderson.

The mare FREE PIC has won here on her last two starts and can complete a course hat-trick. The lightly raced Raysham is feared.

POETIC TWIST showed promise on both bumper starts before switching to hurdles at Cork last month when keeping on well into second in a 2m3f maiden, with Chosen Princess well behind in fourth. The Gordon Elliott-trained mare should appreciate this longer trip. Samba Train won twice in bumpers and now takes a drop in class after finishing fourth behind Amen Kate in a Listed novice hurdle at Thurles just before Christmas. Early Bird was put over hurdles after winning a Tramore bumper and last time beat all bar Tangara Bay at Clonmel. Miss Jocund and Fraher Field are others to consider.

After a pleasing hurdles debut in Listed company, SAMBA TRAIN can take this; she's likely to enjoy the longer trip and good ground

LHEUR DE GLOIRE wasn't without promise on his sixth-placed handicap bow over 2m5f at Haydock and a subsequent wind procedure could unlock significant improvement. The five-year-old travelled well into the race that day and this drop back in trip is forecast to suit. Although Miss Kassiopi was undone by a 7lb penalty at Ffos Las, she cannot be dismissed at this level, while Liberty Looming is worth a market check on his return for Adam Nicol.

Miss Kassiopi is the sold option but it could be now or never for CHICO MAGNIFICA to show some form over hurdles on handicap debut.

Paddy Twomey has saddled six winners from his last seven runners at the time of writing and his newcomer JOGA BONITO merits plenty of respect. He's a half-brother to a heritage handicap winner who also landed two valuable handicaps in Meydan. Lan De Ghaire banked good experience when finishing third on debut over 6f at the Curragh and, based on that, this extra furlong should suit her well. Jim Bolger certainly knows what is required to land this race having won two of the last four renewals. Seven Nation Army looks the pick of Joseph O'Brien's pair on jockey bookings, but a good run from both him and Dancing Destiny is eminently feasible.

The Bolger filly Lan Ghaire ran well on debut, but there are probably some newcomers capable of beating her, including JOGA BONITO

Betties Bay has been rejuvenated by a change of scenery and she must enter calculations in her quest to complete a four-timer. That said, James Owen's mare is effectively 9lb higher without Mason Paetel's 5lb claim, which could leave the door open for LILY PEARL to make a triumphant return. The three-year-old ended her juvenile campaign with a winning nursery bow at Pontefract and a 3lb rise looks workable. Fellow last-time-out scorer North West Gal could also figure.

Lily Pearl can progress but BETTIES BAY is taken to extend an unbeaten AW run for her new yard now back on turf.

Hi Ho Idaho has been placed on both hurdle outings, including when runner-up to the odds-on Arcadian Emperor at Clonmel. Take The Boat has been mostly consistent since joining Georgina Nicholls and it wouldn't be a surprise to see her ridden more positively now dropping in trip. Platinum Prince won off 2lb lower at Goodwood last August and is more than capable of being in the mix, but handicap debutant HENGEST gets the vote. The four-year-old produced his best effort to date when outrunning his 80/1 odds at Epsom and the step up in trip is likely to bring about further improvement.

Silver Gunn is a leading contender, but the unexposed HENGEST looks a likely big improver upped to 1m2f for his handicap debut.

King's Scholar should have learned plenty from his fourth-placed hurdling debut at Ludlow and he merits strong consideration given his Flat ability. However, LOUIS VERON went into plenty of notebooks when finding only a now 116-rated hurdler too strong on his racecourse bow at Chepstow back in October and he sets a good standard for the others to aim at. The 104-rated Sense Of Reason may fare best of the remainder.

If LOUIS VERON can run to the same level as when splitting respected opposition in October then he may provide the answer.

First-reserve Jasmine Affanalis would be of interest if getting in as she was denied a clear run before finishing a fair fifth in a big field at Cork. This isn't a deep race and KITTY BEAR, who was successful on her penultimate start at Gowran Park, has strong claims. She is a consistent sort who is the highest-rated in the field and Orla Tynan gets on well with her. The veteran Brains finished well for a never-nearer fourth at Leopardstown and is on a dangerous mark. He certainly knows where the winning post is with 14 victories in his locker. Manhattan Dandy and Mullacash Buzz, who sports first-time blinkers, have chances at the lower end of the handicap.

She's probably not yet handicapped out of things and, if settling reasonably well, KITTY BEAR may be able to run these down

COLUMBUS is a smart recruit from the Flat and gets the vote to make a successful transition to hurdles for new connections. The son of Oasis Dream won three times in France and was Group 1-placed on his penultimate start over 1m4f at Cologne. Master Haku had Midnight Jet 13 lengths behind when the pair filled the placings behind Grey Jude at Cork last November and the pair both got off the mark over timber last month, with Midnight Jet showing improved form when scoring over this trip at Fairyhouse. Mr Hollywood is another useful recruit from the Flat in France for the Willie Mullins team.

The Mullins pair COLUMBUS and Mr Hollywood were well above average on the Flat. Paul Townend's mount earns preference.

The seven-year-old makes plenty of appeal racing off an unaltered mark and compensation may be imminent. Prairie Diamond made the most of an easy lead at Wincanton and he shouldn't be taken lightly, for all that a 13lb hike may prove excessive. Handicap debutant Eternity Rose is also worth a second look.

On the back of a good maiden run and with him bred for this step up in trip, there's a lot to like about ETERNITY ROSE (nap).

Plenty in with chances in a tight handicap. SUN SOLDIER cashed plenty of cheques last year and made a pleasing return to action when beaten just over a length at the Curragh last month. That was his first start back from a break and it would be no surprise to see him take a step forward from that effort. Zaraahmando has acquitted himself well in higher grades since delivering at Cork last autumn, while Gloriously Glam outran her odds when fourth in a warm fillies' handicap at Gowran Park in April. Fast Tara and Chester Nimitz, who made up a lot of ground for fifth at Leopardstown, will have their supporters.

Preference is for the nicely drawn SUN SOLDIER who should strip fitter for a very pleasing comeback run at the Curragh

WILLIAM TELL progressed nicely last year, building on a promising Rules debut second to register wins over hurdles at Cork and Thurles. The ground might have gone against him when he was last seen and the forecast conditions can see him in a better light here. Duty Bound won at this venue last summer and may have benefited from his latest run on the Flat at Navan, while Maxios Prime has been consistent and merits respect off a light weight. Therellbguddaysyet also warrants a betting check after returning with a creditable fourth at Cork last month.

In an open handicap a chance is taken on THERELLBGUDDAYSYET who ran well in the face of an impossible task last time.

Joseph O'Brien's PERSONIFIED was far too good for her rivals in an optional claimer at Ballinrobe on Friday. Shay Wallace's claim negates the 7lb penalty incurred for that win, and it looks significant that she is turned out again swiftly. Cisterna is on a competitive mark and was a creditable third over 7f at Gowran Park last month. O'Brien's Sweet Baby Zou hasn't shown a lot in maidens, but she is one to note on handicap debut with champion jockey Dylan Browne McMonagle taking over in the saddle. Coincidental Glory was successful over 7f at Dundalk over the winter and is capable of a big run.

CYDNEY SWEENIE displayed enough ability on her opening fourth at Pontefract to suggest that a race of this nature is within her grasp. The Caturra filly should appreciate the extra furlong and her experience could prove crucial. George Scott has his string in fine fettle so 42,000-euro newcomer Emerald Bay is well worth a look in the market, for all that he may appreciate further in time. Fellow debutants Kach Above and Agnes Hathaway are others to note.

There was promise in CYDNEY SWEENIE's opening Pontefract effort and she looks the clear pick of those to have run.

GENTLEMAN DE MEE often shows his best form in the spring and gave plenty of encouragement last time when fourth behind Will The Wise in the Topham at Aintree. He won that competitive handicap over the Grand National fences last year off a slightly lower mark and still retains plenty of ability. Riding arrangements suggest Sa Fureur is preferred of Gordon Elliott's three runners and the Walk In The Park gelding, who was let down by his jumping last time at Fairyhouse, would rate a threat if reproducing his second to Impaire Et Passe at Gowran back in February. Jesse Evans should benefit from a recent outing at Punchestown and looks best of the remainder.

Favoured by the weights, the ground and arriving on the back of an excellent fourth in the Topham, GENTLEMAN DE MEE (nap) appeals most.

Having shown she has trained on with a respectable second over 7f on her seasonal debut at Lingfield, Startled Lady sets the standard and is a likely strong contender. However, a chance is taken on SARGENT DENNIS being able to take another step forward, switching to turf after three promising efforts on the all-weather. Percy's Star is related to several winners and is another potential improver, while Mooj and Star With Purpose warrant betting checks.

A few of these can be considered in an ordinary novice but perhaps PERCY'S STAR can build on a promising Leicester debut.

IAMAGETAWAY was sent off a well-backed favourite at Kilbeggan on stable debut for Gordon Elliott. In front before two out, Jack Kennedy's mount was collared in the closing stages on what was his first start for over six months and he can gain a first win over fences with that run under his belt. Rusheen ran well over a longer trip when third at Clonmel, but he has to shoulder top weight and may prefer softer ground. Butty O'Brien made most of the running when recording her first win over fences at Wexford. That was a much-improved performance in first-time cheekpieces and she could prove the main danger, despite a 7lb hike.

Although strong in the market when a beaten favourite on his first run for Gordon Elliott, IAMAGETAWAY should be sharper this time.

MERRIMACK, who is a previous C&D winner, has mastered a few of these in past encounters and looks the percentage call. The reliable Over Spiced, who was a game winner under today's rider at Bath last week, and the competitively-weighted Cayman Tai are others capable of bold showings, while the low-mileage Correspondence would be dangerous to rule out with cheekpieces added on just his second start over the minimum trip.

Cayman Tai has too much ability to discount but the tough and reliable OVER SPICED (nap) may have his measure today.

After creditable efforts in Group races on his final two starts as a juvenile, Irish Derby entrant NIL BUA GAN DUA was handed a rating of 101. The American Pharoah colt ran nowhere near that mark when third in a 1m maiden at Cork on his return to action last month and now steps up in trip. With that run under his belt, Joseph O'Brien's charge is chosen to get his head in front for the first time. Sir Benji overcame greenness to make a winning start at Navan and that form has been boosted recently. He looks the main threat to the selection, and Gowran Park maiden winner Rebel Ascendant is another who has to come into calculations.

He didn't run to anywhere near his mark at Cork, but NIL BUA GAN DUA is given another chance in the hope that he will be sharper here

Lifetime Ambition ran a blinder when fourth in the Champion Hunters Chase at the Punchestown Festival and that makes him the one to beat. Saying that, he was turned over at odds-on in this race last year and is taken on with SOLITARY MAN. Enda Bolger's eight-year-old has won four times at this venue and will appreciate stepping back up in trip after finishing fourth to Journey With Me over 2m4f at Cork. The latter was a Grade 2 winner over that trip when trained by Henry de Bromhead, but his stamina will be stretched over this distance.

Although disappointing in this last year, LIFETIME AMBITION should go close this time with a repeat of his recent Punchestown form.

WILD THOUGHTS brushed aside 12lb extra in penalties when he completed a hat-trick with a ready success over 7f at Kempton 11 days ago. A revised mark of 77 is still workable and the son of Lucky Vega is hard to oppose. Midnight Rodeo was at the top of his game on the all-weather when last seen and reverts to turf with a solid chance of also registering a three-timer. The unexposed Abundant and Dumuji are others to bear in mind.

With his Chester form having been well advertised, BERKSHIRE BOOM can overcome an absence and make a winning handicap debut.

RADAR AHEAD showed the benefit of her seasonal reappearance when caught close home in a 20-runner contest at Navan. Tom McCourt's mare, a winner over hurdles at Sligo last summer, comes back in trip slightly and may be able to gain a first victory on the Flat. Kakori didn't get the clearest of runs when a little over two lengths behind the selection at Navan and can get closer on this occasion. Forlio came home well over 1m2f last time but is not proven over this trip, while Stepdance is on a Flat four-timer and the first of her wins last season came after a similar layoff.

KAKORI (nap) endured a troubled passage at Navan last time when behind Radar Ahead and he can turn that form around

CELESTRA was on the back of 271-day break when she was narrowly denied on her seasonal return at Beverley and the well-related daughter of Kingman shades preference now she has a recent run under her belt. She Commands beat a stable companion of the selection when she won a similar event at Kempton last autumn. A 45,000gns yearling, the Dark Angel filly is the pick of Ralph Beckett's pair. Related to several useful performers and out of a Group 3 winner, DUVESSA was only eighth on her sole start for Jessica Harrington last season but made some late headway in a 1m2f Curragh maiden and could easily progress at the age of four. The daughter of Make Believe starts off for a stable in fine form. After a creditable run in a Listed contest at Cork, Carmel's Phoenix was given a mark of 86 and sets the standard. Harana was runner-up over 1m on her only start last season and is now tried in cheekpieces, while the 80-rated Marazion is another to consider.

CARMEL'S PHOENIX wasn't disgraced in a listed heat at Cork last time and she can shed the maiden tag returned to better ground

The in-form CAPTAIN PICKLES, who won over C&D on his penultimate start, has fared well regarding the draw and can get back to winning ways. Having been denied by just a short head over 7f at Southwell most recently, stepping back up in trip is likely to be a good move. So Chic, Simba's Gift and Street Dancer have all gone close in recent outings and are shortlisted in that order of preference.

Street Dancer is respected but preference is for SIMBA'S GIFT, who's found his level since joining his current yard.

LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

Squiffy won over 7f here when she was last seen and is interesting stepped up in trip for her handicap debut, while Lady Milton won her last three starts in a progressive manner and must be feared, despite a 6lb rise after last month's 1m2f success at Lingfield. The vote, however, goes to the class-dropping SILKY LASS, who won on Tapeta at Newcastle on her penultimate start and this looks more attainable than the tougher handicap she contested at Doncaster most recently.

Eastern Veil will rightly be popular, but LADY MILTON can defy a further 6lb rise and complete the four-timer for her in-form yard.
