LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content,

Beckford's Folly was too keen to do himself justice on his debut at Lingfield but he is likely to take a step forward and must be respected. Preference, however, is for ROMEO MONTAGUE. Seventh in a warm novice at York on his racecourse bow, form which has subsequently worked out well, Richard Spencer's colt can progress and the booking Ryan Moore is noteworthy. Dryburgh fetched 150,000 euros as a yearling and a betting check is required.

The shortlist comprises form pick ROMEO MONTAGUE and particularly interesting newcomer Dryburgh.

LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

A chance can be taken on EY UP HE'S A STAR. The Sogann gelding wasn't the quickest into stride over 6f at Catterick recently, but he kept on well into third nonetheless and today's step up in trip could unlock some improvement. Due Respect continues to knock on the door so must enter calculations, along with handicap debutant Marsh Meadow and Beta Reader, who has dropped to a competitive mark.

Due Respect has twice gone mighty close on turf recently but a chance is taken on the handicap and AW newcomer MARSH MEADOW.

LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

Renesmee has been knocking at the door since joining Michael Keady's yard and she is likely to be thereabouts again, but RAINWATER gets the verdict. He returned to winning ways at Hamilton earlier in the month and a subsequent 3lb rise looks fair. If the son of Mayson turns up in similar form, he could prove difficult to beat. Brinton appeals most of the remainder.

The form of the win by RAINWATER (nap) at Hamilton is working out very nicely and he's a confident selection to go back-to-back.

Charlie Appleby and William Buick are often a force to be reckoned with on the July Course and they could gain further success courtesy of HEART OF ETERNITY. The daughter of Pinatubo finished a creditable third on her racecourse bow at Yarmouth recently and, with improvement likely, she is expected to go very close. Wolverhampton scorer Miss Cartesian ran extremely well when beaten a neck under a penalty at Yarmouth last month and she remains of interest. Debutant Kohayln is worth a second look too.

With progress likely, HEART OF ETERNITY gets the vote. Miss Cartesian and Kohayln complete the shortlist.

LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content,

Boston Dan shaped with promise on his debut at Chester earlier this month and is one of the likelier candidates, but the way in which he finished off that day would suggest he might come into his own over further. With that in mind, it might pay to side with ZOIROS. The Sioux Nation colt displayed ability, despite having an unfavourable draw at Ripon on his racecourse bow, and might be capable of better with that run under his belt. Ciao Capo appeals most of the newcomers.

Sir Albert and Zoiros have shown significant ability but BOSTON DAN showed plenty of promise on his recent debut at Chester.

Jeanne Baret finished third on her debut at Pontefract before stepping forward to fill the runner-up spot at Chelmsford latest. She is expected to mount a bold bid, but a chance can be taken on ITRAAQ. William Haggas' filly finished sixth on her racecourse bow over a mile at Leicester last month, and it would come as no surprise were she to find a great deal of improvement given that a step up in trip should suit. Opera Wave is also noted.

Although ELA'S GEM lacks a recent run, she returns with her yard going great guns and there was a lot to like about her debut on the AW.

An open contest in which a chance can be taken on MOLLIE FOSTER. Ed Walker's filly didn't show much on her seasonal return at Ascot, but she was an eye-catching fourth at Chester last time having been caught much further back than ideal. The daughter of Acclamation can compete off an unchanged mark and, with the potential of more to come, she could take another step forward. Dashing Dick ought to prove popular, while Another Abbot should not be overlooked.

Chester eyecatcher MOLLIE FOSTER gets the vote off an unaltered mark, ahead of Another Abbot who is knocking at the door.

Ashariba was highly progressive last season and she was far from disgraced on her return at Epsom earlier this month. Two from two on the all-weather, David Menuisier's filly is entitled to plenty of respect, but the vote goes to WADACRE GOMEZ. Charlie Johnston's charge is 1lb well in having chased home an unexposed rival at Chelmsford a week ago, and he ought to be more than capable of going one place better. Others to note include Penzance and Fantasy Believer.

Penzance is not passed over lightly but ASHARIBA could be ready to go in again following her satisfactory reappearance.

Ishimentor changed hands for 15,000gns as a yearling and is a half-brother to a winning sprinter, so he must be respected ahead of his racecourse bow. However, CALAFIORI, who runs for the first time as a gelding, had Miss Apres (fourth) in behind when occupying the runner-up berth at Ripon last month. With further improvement likely, he might prove difficult to beat. Market support for newcomer Angels' Share would be noteworthy.

Quite a few with chances but BRISK SYMPHONY is taken to step forward from her debut, where she attracted interesting market support.

Four of SNOW BERRY's eight career wins have come at this venue (one over C&D), and a 3lb rise for the latest those which came a fortnight ago, could prove lenient. Michael Appleby's mare is narrowly preferred to Thunderous Love, who has remained in good form since scoring over track and trip in April. Forteleza and Kiss Me My Love are entitled to be thereabouts as well.

Mick Appleby's SNOW BERRY makes most appeal on her favourite patch, especially with her returning on the back of a win.

This may be QAZAQ's first start on turf, but he is bred to relish quick ground and the son of Kingman should enjoy dropping back to 7f after a relatively disappointing effort over further at Newcastle when last seen in January. The four-year-old still has plenty of potential from a mark of 92, and he is preferred to the highly consistent Two Tribes, and Cogitate, who took a decent step forward when scoring over 1m at Salisbury last month off 6lb lower. Physique is another with claims if bouncing back to the form of his penultimate second on the Rowley Mile behind the subsequent winner of the Kensington Palace.

The votes goes to PHYSIQUE (nap) whose most recent turf effort is a strong piece of form. Two Tribes is second choice.

Runner-up on each of her three starts over 5f, Homestrait has been nothing but consistent and stepping up in trip may be just what is needed for this daughter of Coulsty. Zoumluzzi improved from first to second start when third at York and he is another one to note.

Today's extra furlong and weaker company should be ideal for RAWALPINDI EXPRESS, who earns the vote ahead of Ibn Altheeb.

Sahana put her three maiden/novice starts well behind her when making a winning handicap debut at Yarmouth earlier in the month and she holds an obvious chance. James Horton's filly accounted for a subsequent winner to get off the mark at Brighton in May and based on that performance, she will prove tough to stop.

With further improvement plausible, the solid last-time winners SALVE ELECTRA and Sahana are particularly interesting.

KANISHKA may have disappointed when well-fancied at Leicester last time out, but he has strong claims on previous form, including when fourth in the Brocklesby on debut, and the booking of Tom Marquand may prove significant. Narrowly denied on his first go over this trip in a seller at Chester last time out, Ubetterseethis can uphold form with Crystal Aurora (third), who was a length-and-a-half behind, with both expected to be thereabouts again on a return to maiden company.

This could go to POPTY PING, who was a well-backed third at Carlisle recently and could be suited by this further step up in trip.

COSMIC SOUL appeared to be suited by a drop in trip when beaten a neck into second at Redcar last Saturday, and, if finding a little extra, the five-year-old could shed his maiden tag. The booking of Jim Crowley is noteworthy, and he might have too much for Titainium, who could progress upped further in distance having won over 1m2f at Wetherby last time out. Morandi Second arrives on the back of a creditable third at Catterick and he should not be overlooked either.

Three successive seconds for a 17-race maiden could set the alarm bells ringing but COSMIC SOUL has been trying hard enough.

Dereham outran his odds of 14/1 when taking the silver medal home at Yarmouth in May and is likely to be on the premises in his bid for a third win in this contest. However, BRECCIA was just touched off into second at Bath earlier in the month and is just 1lb higher. With David Probert taking over in the plate, she could be the one to beat. Chillhi sports a first-time visor and is another to watch out for.

In-form Young Endless has more to prove on turf, so DEREHAM and Breccia are preferred.

Dc Cogent cosily shed his maiden tag over C&D prior to only managing sixth on his first handicap outing at Musselburgh, but he might have more to offer. Even so, ZIGGY'S TRITON looks the way to go. David O'Meara's charge produced the best effort of his career when second at Catterick earlier in the month and, with Tom Marquand booked, he could make a winning handicap debut. Last-time-out Southwell scorer Nordic Games is another to consider.

The return to Newcastle could prompt an improved performance from DC COGENT on his second handicap start and he is the pick.

Having returned to the level with a decent second over shorter here last week, RAVENSCRAIG CASTLE is entitled to build upon that effort and he can end a long losing streak dating back to July 2021. Billy No Mates improved from first to second start this season when second over 1m6f at Carlisle. He is a key player along with Crystal Guard, who ran his best race for some time when runner-up here earlier in the month.

A chance is taken on KRISSY, who was better than the bare result last time and whose yard is seeking a third straight win in this.

A promising third to a smart sort of Richard Hughes' on debut at Windsor recently, KUNAA may well have gone closer but for a tardy start. This appeals as an ideal opportunity for David Loughnane's charge and she is narrowly preferred to Army Bugler, who had similar difficulties at the beginning of his race at Bath when stumbling leaving the stalls. That did not stop the son of Soldier's Call from finishing an encouraging second and he's noted along with U S S Charleston.

U S S Charleston is second choice behind ARMY BUGLER who is selected to get off the mark at the third attempt.

WOR FAAYTH caught the eye on debut at Carlisle when staying on well for third, despite an awkward start and hanging left a furlong out. With normal improvement expected, Brian Ellison's charge can break the maiden at the main expense of Goldie Bear, who showed similar ability when third first time out at Thirsk recently. By a speedy sire in the shape of Ubettabelieveit, Thehunnebelllegacy looks to be the pick of the newcomers for trainer Richard Fahey.

Brian Ellison's WOR FAAYTH was only a nose behind a next-time-out winner when a third on her Carlisle debut and gets the vote.

A highly creditable third over C&D in May behind a winner that has gone in multiple times since, KYBER CRYSTAL should be primed for this assignment and a mark of 56 looks manageable for the daughter of El Kabeir. Daniel Tudhope returning to the saddle aboard the capable Startling is a big plus, while Carlton And Co has dropped back to a mark 1lb lower than her last success.

The most solid one here is KYBER CRYSTAL, with Jack Of Clubs taken to bounce back to form and give her most to do.

This contest could be fought out between the Roger Fell-trained inmates, with a slight preference for PETRA CELERA over Monsieur Fantaisie. The mount of Jack Nicholls looked good when scoring at Wolverhampton recently and a 5lb penalty for that success may not be enough to stop her from going in again. Cooperation and Emerald Army are capable of being in the shake-up as well.

Petra Celera is respected under a penalty but MONSIEUR FANTAISIE is taken to continue his good form and double his tally on turf.

Ed Bethell's colt chased home a couple of useful rivals when third at Carlisle last month, and any further progress may well suffice. Others to note include Sound Janet and Eternal Force.

Danger Bay should pack more punch at the finish with an outing under his belt but narrow preference is for ETERNAL FORCE.

LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

LIPSINK has been more effective on the all-weather throughout his career but, despite having excuses at Sandown latest, he finished a creditable third. Dropped 1lb in the handicap, the son of Kodiac is able to qualify for this 0-70 contest and he might provide some value up against the likes of Hk Fourteen, who struck at Windsor last time. Winged Messenger is slowly coming to the boil and must enter calculations too.

Only one of these is readily passed over. LIPSINK, who ran well when third at Sandown last time, gets the vote on this drop in class.

POMME POMME holds a perfect record in five starts in handicap company and made every yard of the running to score in good style at Haydock on Saturday. Jack Channon's filly has her first attempt at this distance and could find further improvement to continue her brilliant form. Word Of Mouth wasn't disgraced when fourth at Chelmsford earlier in the month and may have a say on only her second handicap outing. Neoma can beat Cymbidium home for third.

The thriving POMME POMME is taken to make it six in a row, at the expense of Word Of Mouth.

LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

Frostmagic justified favouritism at Southwell earlier in the month, but the drop in trip is a concern. With that in mind, MASTEROFPERFECTION gets the vote. The three-year-old showed a big chunk of improvement when recording his first career success at Lingfield and can cope with a 6lb penalty. Considering the manner of that victory, he could prove hard to beat. Three On Thursday completes the shortlist.

Frostmagic commands respect under the penalty but LIGHTS GO DOWN shaped well on his handicap debut and should have more to offer.

CITY CAPTAIN made it two wins out of three starts since switching to the Harriet Bethell stable last time and may have more to offer. The son of Aclaim's most recent victory at Carlisle suggested his winning sequence might have not come to an end, and he looks the one to beat again. Inanna finished third over C&D on her most recent outing and would be foolish to dismiss, while Roach Power isn't out of it either.

If CITY CAPTAIN (nap) is in the same form as at Carlisle last week he should go in again.

However, LIVE EACH DAY ran too bad to be true when finishing last at Windsor and might be worth another chance. The daughter of Persian King takes a drop back in distance and the booking of Sean Levey is a positive one. Candle Of Time is another to note.

She spoiled her chance by racing too freely last time but progressive filly LIVE EACH DAY (nap) can be given another chance here.

About U.K Horse Racing

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.

There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.

The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.

Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.

In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.

Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
