LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

Reporter failed to supplement his Windsor success when only fourth at Chepstow last time, but he might be worth another chance. Virtue Temperance is a C&D winner who has undergone a wind operation since her sixth at Lingfield and is respected, but POP DANCER gets the vote. The eight-year-old produced another pleasing effort when second over C&D in June and is just 1lb higher, so he looks the one to beat.

The opening race of the festival and Tony Carroll is a good starting point, with POP DANCER (nap) having likely been held back for this.

LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

Turned out again quickly after dead-heating for first at Beverley last week, STAR START looks the one to beat under a 5lb penalty, with Miss Charli Parker retaining the ride. A taking winner over C&D on his penultimate outing in June, Unplugged must be a leading contender, as well as Highwaygrey, who has run with credit of late. Apodictique and Mass Consumption may also have a say in proceedings.

It may prove best to side with the two who have shone so often at this track, with UNPLUGGED preferred to Highwaygrey.

CAMPANI has occupied the runner-up berth on both of his handicaps starts, most recently at Windsor when taking a keen hold. The son of Time Test now sports a first-time hood, which could eke out the improvement required to get off the mark. Summertime Blues took the silver medal home on his first outing in a handicap at Windsor last time and is one to note, while Juno Star isn't out of it either.

A good few of these may be perked up by the return to Brighton but MISTER SANDMAN shaped last time as though there's better to come.

LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content,

There are not many better when it comes to two-year-old debutants than Karl Burke, and GOLD QUEEN KINDLY could be set to strike in this intriguing maiden. His half-sister, Queen Me, scored on debut before being narrowly denied in the Lowther, and he gets the vote ahead of fellow newcomer Sanaam, who may want further in time but hails from a yard in excellent form at present. Solar Cooper looks like the pick of those with experience, while Pierre Le Picard cannot be ruled out either.

With nothing to shout about among those who have run, the focus is seemingly fixed on newcomers GOLD QUEEN KINDLY and Sanaam.

LUNANOVA got up by a neck to record her first career success over track and trip last month. With a similar performance, the three-year-old could prove hard to beat once again. Too Much Trevor filled the runner-up spot in this class at Chepstow on his most recent outing and has to be respected, while Headshot looks best of the rest.

The veteran ORBAAN has run with credit since scoring at Beverley last month and, with Daniel Tudhope returning to the saddle, the son of Invincible Spirit may be able to notch up an eighth career success. Volenti has strong claims if bouncing back to the form of his second over C&D two starts ago, while Distinction looks to build on a comfortable success over further at Beverley last time out, for which he has been raised 3lb.

Tricky. COSMOS RAJ is given the vote, though, as he is readily forgiven his run in a 19-runner race at York 11 days ago.

Robbo doubled his career tally with an improved effort at Goodwood most recently and looks a key player, despite a 5lb rise. Mostawaa was a respectable third in that race and is dangerous to underestimate based on peak performances. However, there is more to like about the progressive MAN OF LA MANCHA, who still has scope to develop and is an intriguing option on just his fifth run in a handicap. Mafnood completes the shortlist.

Only one of these would be a surprise winner. Two 3yos can fight it out with Man Of La Mancha suggested to follow home JIFF'S ARMY.

Missmimi has occupied the top two places on each of her last three outings, most recently finishing second at Doncaster, and she should remain competitive. Solar Biricz is another to consider.

This stiff C&D suited MISSMIMI (nap) when she won here in July and she gets the vote ahead of Solar Biricz and Profiteer.

All of these have questions to answer. Not least Oh So Audacious, who goes well here but has never won over 7f. Voltaic and Kondratiev Wave are others with good course form that can figure with revivals. However, IDEAL GUEST, appeals the most with reverting to 7f and running off 9lb below his last winning mark key elements in his favour.

Ideal Guest may be suited by the return here but GONE ROGUE is well handicapped and ran better at Windsor last time.

CAPITAL THEORY sets the standard on numbers in this claimer by being 18lb clear on official ratings. The six-year-old gelding recently changed stables from Charlie Johnston's to Declan McGuigan and looked to be in good form when staying on late at Ballinrobe 16 days ago. Long-standing maiden Quatrain can feature here on this step down in class in first time blinkers. The somewhat consistent Powerful Hook Head should be capable of being in the mix after an encouraging showing on his most recent start in Killarney.

The suggestion is LOINGSEOIR who drops into a claimer after some fair runs in handicaps.

TOKEN GESTURE may have disappointed over 6f here last month, but he is much better judged on his previous success over C&D last September. A mark of 68 still looks manageable, and Mark Usher's charge is narrowly preferred to unexposed handicap-debutant Havana Halo, who has the services of Oisin Murphy to call upon. Lexington Jet and Warrnambool are entitled to be thereabouts as well.

Being a C&D winner who remains unexposed over 7f, TOKEN GESTURE is preferred. Man Of Steel is second pick.

With no standout name in the line-up, the five newcomers are of definite interest and it'll be significant if any of them are strong in the market. Gavin Cromwell saddles two of the debutants and both warrant the utmost respect, with Ailbhe Ava out of a half-sister to Grade 1 winner Feathard Lady. Shing Shang Lily could prove the best of the three Cian Collins representatives, with this one out of a five-time winner in Lily Shing Shang. On an identical mark of 100, GAME PHOENIX and No More Silver set the standard. The former has been placed three times from six starts over flights and should be able to put her experience to good use. Disappointing when the subject of good market support at Ballinrobe on her latest outing, No More Silver will need to bounce back from that effort if she is to feature.

GAME PHOENIX has plenty of experience over hurdles and ran well on the Flat two starts ago so could win this if at her best.

ANNIE'S ANGEL and Shaool renew rivalries once more, although on different terms this time. Considering Yudish Gerdharry's 7lb claim, a 5lb weight swing in favour of the selection should see her uphold the half-length deficit from Killarney. The daughter of Dark Angel is improving with every run and with the assistance of Dylan Browne McMonagle, she can take another step forward. Lady In Paris holds some very strong form claims especially against her own sex after a comfortable success at the Curragh on her last start. If able to bounce back from her most recent start, Lady Lunette holds a good chance as well under top weight. The form of her penultimate start reads well when she was second in the Ulster Oaks behind Royal Entry, who is now a Group performer in her own right.

Just in front of Shaool at Killarney last time over further, front-runner ANNIE'S ANGEL could confirm the form.

A highly-creditable fourth at Sandown on only his second go over this distance, SOUTH SHORE ISLAND is entitled to improve on that effort and he can break the maiden on the slight drop in class. Making his handicap debut off what looks like a workable mark, Breakdancer can follow the selection home, along with Silca Bay, who ran well here over shorter on his penultimate start.

Although he's still a maiden, VALSHARAH holds a solid chance on his C&D efforts. Breakdancer is second choice.

Caoimhe O'Brien made the breakthrough on Hey Babbs over the course and distance just under a fortnight ago, and her brother Paddy now takes over in the saddle. The Dermot McLoughlin-trained five-year-old went up just 6lb for that recent win and it'll come as no surprise if she manages to follow-up. For a selection, it might be worth siding with CLUB MANAGER. A good fourth in a stronger contest on his most recent try over flights, he will be ably assisted by Alex Harvey who claims a valuable 5lb. Starting off in handicap company, both Doctor Confusion and Irina's Path are of definite interest.

Things didn't go well for SPRING MEADOW on chasing debut last time but he can bounce back returned to this sphere.

A chance is taken on FORTUITY for last year's winning connections of Jessica Harrington and Shane Foley. The 55,000-euro yearling is out of a half sister to Irish 2,000 Guineas victor Phoenix Of Spain and if professional enough on debut, he could stamp his authority on this contest. Raphello is somewhat exposed after three runs at Cork and already receiving a handicap rating of 75 but experience might count around here and it is telling that Joseph O'Brien has wished to run this colt in another maiden instead of a nursery where he would surely have a chance. Another newcomer, Pliny may be able to complete the frame with the notable booking of Colin Keane catching the eye.

Raphello appeals most of those with experience but in what isn't a strong maiden it could pay to chance FORTUITY.

Turned out again quickly under a double penalty after an easy success at Doncaster on Saturday, DUBLIN BAY merits the utmost respect and the hat-trick looks very much on the cards for the son of New Bay. Corniche Girl is capable of better than what she has shown in recent outings, while Madman must be of interest on his nursery debut with Tom Marquand booked.

Provided he takes to the surface, DUBLIN BAY could well complete a quickfire hat-trick. Demetrius is second choice.

Starting off over fences, Speculatrix is sure to have plenty of supporters, with Jack Kennedy opting to partner this course winner over the 130-rated Harsh. While not one of the leading lights at Closutton, Mr Escobar can't be discounted, with West Away and Rauzan others capable of making an impact. For a selection, HMS SEAHORSE gets the nod. The locally-trained seven-year-old bounced back to form when successful in first time blinkers at Clonmel in June and since lost little in defeat when second on his chasing debut.

Though he may need to surpass the form that saw him finish second over C&D on chasing debut, HMS SEAHORSE can build on that run

Donnacha O'Brien's trio seems to be headed by ENTHUSIASTICALLY based on jockey bookings and she showed up positively for a long way in a Curragh maiden before fading late on debut. This daughter of Ten Sovereigns has had two quieter runs since and an opening mark of 58 may prove lenient alongside the application of first time cheekpiece. Glamazon arguably holds the strongest form in the race with an improvement in each performance, but she may have shown her hand more so than others in this field. Gas Works Wall was heavily supported in the market on her second start but failed to justify it after running green and the latest addition of cheekpieces made her too keen last time out. She shouldn't be discounted and market support would signify confidence.

It's a bit of a guessing game but GLAMAZON gets a tentative nod for last year's winning stable.

Bidding to complete a hat-trick at this Bettyville circuit, CROWSATEDAPPLETART is difficult to oppose. In the form of his life at present, he has finished no worse than fourth in his last nine starts. Now up to a career high mark of 106, the likeable eight-year-old might still be ahead of the handicapper. Not far behind the selection a fortnight ago and better off at the weights now, it'll come as no surprise if Finnians Row manages to reverse the form. Fourth and fifth when last seen at Tipperary, Birdsandthebees and A Nod To Getaway are both capable of making an impact.

A longer trip seemed to find out A NOD TO GETAWAY at Tipperary. He is potentially well treated relative to hurdles form

Nepal finished fourth at the Curragh in June and now goes for the George Scott stable. The son of Camacho sets the standard with an official rating of 82, but it may pay to side with FOREVER PENYWERN. William Haggas' charge has shown ability in both of his career starts, most recently finishing third at Beverley, and this step up in trip could work the oracle. Playtime warrants a market check on his return from a long absence.

Forever Penywern is second choice behind NEPAL who makes his debut for George Scott having been bought from Ireland for 75,000gns.

THERUSSIANCOMPOSER outran odds of 33/1 to make the frame at Down Royal last month and the assessor may have been kind to leave his mark alone for that effort. The extra furlong shouldn't pose him any problems and, with the Ciaran Murphy yard in good form, he looks the one to beat. Pinmoney is yet to make any inroads in his career so far, but he sports first-time cheekpieces and the booking of Colin Keane catches the eye. Masked Angel is the pick of the remainder.

This may go to THERUSSIANCOMPOSER who was boxing on over the minimum at Down Royal and 6f could be his trip.

Locally-trained filly CURROY LADY can follow up her recent win at Ballinrobe. Well supported on that occasion, the daughter of Ulysses landed the odds in good fashion. Given that both the second and third placed horses went on to win afterwards, the form looks quite strong. Whats New was just denied at Galway last week, so has to hold leading claims. Down Royal runner-up Trubshaw is also worthy of consideration.

With the form of her last two runs being franked at Galway last week, TRUBSHAW (nap) can get off the mark with cheekpieces added.

Vronti progressed from her first start to finish second at Haydock and is likely to have plenty of improvement in her, but a chance can be taken on newcomer RAAMMEE. The son of Persian King is closely related to Qazaq, who struck on each of his first three starts on the all-weather, so he might make an instant impression under Silvestre De Sousa. Any market support behind Canopus would be interesting.

The signs are very good for newcomer RAAMMEE on breeding. Vronti is respected.

A three-time winner over hurdles, WOODSTREAM LAD can exploit his lower chase rating. Given that he has only had the three starts over fences, the Philip Rothwell-trained gelding remains open to further improvement in this sphere. Time Marches On is almost certainly a better chaser and the nine-year-old has plenty of experience at this level. Third over course and distance last month, Bynx should be capable of better.

Third over 2m4f at Kilbeggan last time after probably doing too much in front, WOODSTREAM LAD(nap) could get off the mark over fences.

Tramore Derby fourth Tastyee is interesting in first-time blinkers. Dumb Love is another with claims despite her wide draw.

A half-sister to two winners, the Willie Mullins-trained MAHON FALLS catches the eye. Given that one of those aforementioned siblings made a winning bumper debut for the same stable, the four-year-old is bred for the job. The experienced Beir Bua looks the main threat. Twice placed from three starts, the Andrew Slattery-trained filly also ran well when fourth at Cork on her only other appearance. Miss Guiry, who was just in front of Beir Bua at Cork, should also make her presence felt.

Harry Kelly's runner MISS GUIRY finished just in front of Beir Bua at Cork and can confirm form with that rival

SYNERGISM's latest run can be forgiven as he was badly hampered and lost many lengths during a very messy flag start over 1m6f at Ffos Las. This represents a drop in class and the son of Soldier Hollow can bounce straight back, with this 2m trip not expected to be an issue. Previous C&D winner Letmebetheboss is feared the most, with Simiyann the pick of the rest.

Letmebetheboss is an interesting rival but SYNERGISM (nap) is a strong candidate with today's step up to 2m.
