LILY PINK boasts the strongest piece of form on offer. The daughter of Cracksman made an encouraging debut when just failing to reel in the winner at Newmarket and that experience should stand Charlie Johnston's filly in good stead here. Sixth over 7f at this venue on debut, Majestic Flame will be a lot wiser today and can build on that, while Roku Nana can include a Listed winner among her five winning relatives and is a newcomer to note.

On her debut in a decent-looking maiden at Newmarket, THI QAR was second to a highly expensive and well-regarded filly. Well clear of the rest that day, this daughter of Mehmas already looked professional and is the most intriguing of those with experience. That said, Tall Trees has been highly tried and she must be feared after picking up some black type when she was third in a Listed event over C&D last month. Flower Show has a typically impressive pedigree for a Godolphin home-bred and must also be considered.

Sir Yoshi was dropped 2lb following a decent effort when fourth at Hamilton last week and is entitled to be in the mix. Francisco's Piece displayed improved form when getting his head back in front at Musselburgh and a subsequent gelding operation may yield further progression. That said, the vote goes to TEMPLE OF ATHENA, who ran with plenty of credit in the 3YO Dash at Epsom on her penultimate start and the return to a stiffer track is likely to play to her strengths.

Connections feel a mile will bring improvement from SO LOVELY and she could prove the one to beat. The Wootton Bassett filly, a daughter of brilliant racemare Love, won on her third attempt at Leopardstown nine days ago and there should be more to come now back up in trip as her dam was an Oaks winner. She is fancied to turn the tables on Bellesque, who she chased home on her first start. That Joseph O'Brien-trained filly has run well to finish placed in Listed company against the boys since. Samnina won a decent looking Galway maiden last month and the runner-up has been second in a Listed race since. She's another to consider.

GHOST MODE won nicely over C&D last time, despite hanging left in the closings stages, and it could pay to stick with Andrew Balding's charge raised only 4lb. He's expected to confirm superiority with the runner-up Ironwill and the progressive Forty Years On rates a bigger threat to the selection as she was having her first start of the year when landing a decent handicap at Newbury. David O'Meara has won three of the last six renewals and the Haydock winner Pellitory is another to bear in mind.

ZAMOND makes most appeal of the recent winners after scoring with plenty in hand over C&D last month. Harry Brown's allowance negates a hike in the weights and Donald McCain's 10-year-old is taken to make another bold bid. Alvesta also won here last time and can confirm superiority over the runner-up Mr Lincoln. Mi Sueno is another to consider, despite carrying a penalty for winning at Stratford earlier in the week.

KOKBASTAU is heading in the right direction and his wins at Southwell and Kempton certainly captured the imagination. A 14lb rise for the latter does look fairly harsh. However, he reverts to turf as an unexposed handicapper with the potential to be well above average. Notably, his main rivals My Love Is King and King's Charter have something to prove with both trying new headgear, while Crown Of Oaks has a first-time tongue-tie applied and needs to bounce back from a modest effort on his seasonal debut at the Curragh.

PRINCE OF CALYPSO built on a promising handicap debut when getting off the mark at Wolverhampton earlier this month and a 5lb rise might not be able to stop him on his return to turf. Northern Brave took a step in the right direction when runner-up at Thirsk and has to be respected off a 1lb lower mark. Others to consider include L'Eagle Aid and Mayaada.

LUCA BRILLANTE showed a nice bit of improvement on her third outing at Roscommon and may be able to make a winning start in handicap company. The No Nay Never filly just lost out close home to the more experienced Cashel Queen and a mark of 78 looks fair. Banks Of The Boyne gained a deserved success in a Leopardstown maiden and looks an obvious contender. Tradewinds finished mid-division in a maiden here last time, but had some good placed form previously and is capable of getting involved.

GREAT BARRIER REEF comes here after being taken out at Deauville last Sunday and can make a winning return after a little break. He still looked a touch green then, drifting left when on his own in the centre, and there could be further improvement to come. Velozee looks the obvious threat, getting a nice chunk of weight. She ran a fine race to finish third behind Sun Goddess in the Phoenix Stakes over C&D earlier in the month. A decent field headed on official ratings by ZAVATERI, who is rated 3lb superior to Seagulls Eleven yet receives 6lb from his older rival. Turning out quickly after finishing fifth behind Notable Speech at York last week, his Group 1 form gives him every chance of a fifth career victory at a course he won at as a juvenile. Boiling Point is admirably consistent and looks all set for a place, but Fast Tracker might be the one for second.

Sonic Angel has won both starts, the latest at Kempton, and looks likely to attempt to make all here. A fast early pace looks a perfect scenario for Roger Varian's 1,000,000gns yearling ROCK MONTREAL, a Blue Point colt who was impressive enough when winning at Yarmouth where he looked as if he was learning on the job. He holds a Dewhurst entry and will need to win this to justify those lofty ambitions. Kodiac City and Breacher are others worthy of consideration and also arrive unbeaten.

English runner MISS SCOTT has a smart pedigree and has progressed well in four career starts. By a top stallion and a half-sister to two Listed winners, she herself finished runner-up at Listed level at Salisbury earlier this month, with the third-placed filly having previously contested the French Oaks. The Gosdens' three-year-old likes this distance and handles somewhat easy ground. Faiyum has disappointed on two runs this year but is nonetheless able, while Sindria drops in grade after contesting a Group 3 in June. Pivotal Attack and Meriden are closely matched on their two respective recent Listed wins.

The William Haggas-trained EVENING CALL could be the one. Bred to be better over this trip as a daughter of Wootton Bassett, she finished last of three at Newmarket on debut over a mile, running on late and showing plenty of promise. Tropical Sands is getting better with experience with her Haydock second making her the main danger, while newcomers Marquetry and Queen Of Scotland are others to watch out for.

Decent ground should suit Dan Skelton's EDELAK admirably and with the four-year-old winning four of his last five starts (falling in the other), he may be able to shrug off an added 6lb if he continues to improve. Drombeg Lad wasn't beaten far when second at Uttoxeter, despite pulling too hard, and if he settles he could be a danger to all. Virtual Rock is rated 100 on the Flat and has to be of interest on only his third start over hurdles.

Oisin Murphy has ridden two of the five winners of this and is looking for a third on Saeed Bin Suroor's DESERT SHADOW. Upped in class and racing off 9lb higher after an easy win over C&D under the same jockey, he will need a career best off this rating, but still seems to be improving at the age of four. Huscal made all to win readily at Lingfield and he could prove tough to overhaul, with the lightly-raced Shameful one to watch on his belated return.

HARDY WARRIOR was a smart juvenile and ran well in a recent Listed race. Runner-up to Irish Derby winner Benvenuto Cellini last September before finishing fourth in a Group 1, the Pinatubo colt ran well in a Galway handicap in July and was a fast-finishing third at Killarney last week. He should continue to progress and will be fine on softening ground. Pierre Royal finished second in that Galway race, with Irish Lincolnshire winner Ribee in fifth, and both are capable handicappers. Manton Bay is hindered by a 7lb penalty for a recent success, while stablemate Slieve Binnian would prefer a sound surface. Popular top-weight Big Gossey has had another excellent year, but has never won at a mile.

Tanking Along has finished second on his last two starts, at Kelso and Perth, and may have to settle for the same position if PASSING DIAMOND remains at his peak. Decent enough over hurdles, he made his chasing debut over C&D last month, where he jumped well and made all to come home almost five lengths clear. Although upped 6lb, he can only learn from the experience. Kientzheim is another to consider if she can produce her hurdling form over fences.

CROWN AND TWO looks capable of defying a penalty on the evidence of his impressive debut at Newmarket. Bulletsnap failed to improve when upped to 7f last time, but has to be of interest on his debut third at Goodwood. Arthur Carrot and Blue Victory are both likely improvers.

All of these have claims, but marginal preference is for LA FUERZA. The Crisfords' gelding has improved with every start and got off the mark in a Wolverhampton maiden in July. Victory Gold only found one too good over this trip at Newbury on his most recent start and commands respect, while Kempton victor Clive The Writer is another to note.

Although well held in maidens, he wasn't beaten far behind prolific winner Meriden here in April and ran well under a big weight at Sligo. He has been raised 2lb, but his jockey claims 7lb and he gets the nod. Naoi hit the back of the net at Leopardstown, but is effectively 9lb higher as his same rider is unable to utilise his 5lb claim. Rosato is 4lb higher and without her rider's 5lb claim having finished second over C&D last week. Faoladh tries this trip for the first time.

Lequinto had to be switched for a clear run when finishing third over C&D recently. He has less than a length to find with the winner Under The Twilight and may well take his revenge, but another chance goes to SUPREME KING. The six-year-old did well to finish a close fifth at Chester, considering his high draw, and David Evans' charge looks to have a much better opportunity here based on his earlier success in a higher-grade sprint at Salisbury.

It is hard to oppose FLIGHT TRACKER, who was only beaten a neck into second on his debut at Sandown earlier in the month and that experience could prove to be vital. Mainshock is closely related to some useful types and has to be noted having cost 150,000 euros at a breeze-up sale in May. Saxon Lodge was another expensive purchase at 130,000gns and is also considered.

With a distinct lack of winning form to call upon, MISS MONEYPIT has to enter calculations having shown the will and ability to score over 5f at Lingfield last month. Not beaten too far on both starts since in better company, and with Tom Marquand booked, she could get back to winning ways. Crowned was a solid second at Brighton off this mark and seems a danger to all, while Sovereign Dawn is interesting in first-time cheekpieces on his nursery debut.

So Tempting ran well here when a head second over 6f in July and a repeat of that effort could see her getting involved. Thunda Struck has shown signs of ability and might also get into the mix with Taryn Langley's 5lb claim a bonus, but SOVEREIGN BEACH may edge it. Fourth at Beverley off this mark and beaten three lengths, she drops back half a furlong in trip which might see her last home.

Tenability should prove popular after his third in a Group 3 at Deauville, but he kept on late that day and the drop back in trip may not suit. Ghostwriter was a high-class juvenile, but has failed to win since and a chance is taken on WHITE BIRCH. A Group 1 winner, he has his first start since being gelded, undergoing wind surgery and a move to Jamie Osborne. If new surroundings can rekindle the old fire, he would be far too good for these.

Plenty of others merit consideration and that includes Stardancer, Maximising and Happy Banner.

HEAD GIRL was a well-supported favourite when she romped home in a selling handicap at Beverley and looks worth siding with again, given this doesn't appear to be much tougher. The likes of Cloudy Rose, Heart Sign and Buck Barrow are respected but each carry risk based on recent efforts. Therefore, the biggest danger might be the unexposed four-year-old, Wonderful Wendy, whose recent second-placed finish over C&D reads well in the context of this modest event.

With many of these having questions to answer, the safest pick appears to be REGULUS BLACK. The son of Palace Pier won over 1m2f at Chepstow in May and has run well in defeat on both subsequent starts. Lucky Sevens was turned over at odds-on at Lingfield but should not be discounted back in trip, while Goldfinder could go well if transferring his all-weather form to turf.

KNIGHTMARE is a player at this level and can live up to the billing as the best horse in the race under top weight. Having handled this course by winning over a mile here last month, reverting to 1m2f shouldn't be an inconvenience to the dependable four-year-old. City Escape isn't as reliable but her classified win at Ffos Las was her best effort for a while. She isn't harshly treated back in a handicap. Typeface and Celebrating Ethel are the pick of the rest.
