This can go the way of HALF SOVEREIGN, who continues to go from strength to strength and has been raised 4lb for her most recent success over 7f at Newmarket. Her dam won on heavy ground, which bodes well in regards to potential underfoot conditions, and Karl Burke's filly is preferred to Gwen John, who was narrowly denied in her bid to land a double at Carlisle last month. The hat-trick seeking Brisk Symphony is another to consider.

The two suggestions against the field are ROGUE TEMPTATION and Siouxpersonic, both interesting nursery debutantes for Ed Bethell.

Lady Kodiac ran well at Ripon to finish third, beaten two and a half lengths at the line, and on breeding she should be better suited by the extra furlong. Exhibitioning improved for her debut fifth with a length second at Windsor last month and she may be the biggest danger to JUMEIRAH SANDS. Supported from 28/1 to 7/2 on her Wolverhampton introduction, the plunge went astray after a slow start but she is clearly thought to be a lot better than that.

The vote goes to ZEN DIVA, who made a promising start when a clear fourth at Newbury and should improve for that experience.

Red Tsarina built on her debut second to justify favouritism at Chelmsford, but she might find it tough under her penalty against ST ANTON. Richard Hannon's colt showed ability when finishing third on his introduction at Newmarket and it would be no surprise to see him take a big step forward. Edwin Hubble changed hands for 90,000gns as a yearling and is probably better than his seventh at Newbury.

St Anton (second choice) sets a solid standard on his debut third but EDWIN HUBBLE may well improve past him.

The Owen Burrows stable has an excellent record here and CALENDAR GIRL catches the eye following a creditable second at Epsom behind a subsequent winner. Dropping in trip should suit and she may have too much for Irish raider Brussels, who brings strong form to the table. Similar comments apply to Jel Pepper, while Song of The Clyde looks to build on his success in a similar race at York last month.

Assuming there are no issues regarding the draw this time, JEL PEPPER may well be the answer. Brussels is feared.

BEGGARMAN may be an eight-year-old but with six career wins, three of them here and two off higher marks, he has every chance. Fourth at Lingfield over two miles last week, he could get back to winning ways. Golden Garden made all to score by three lengths over this trip at Wolverhampton and looks a serious rival carrying a 6lb penalty. Greek Giant is one to watch on his first start since a Lingfield third in May 2024.

Golden Garden and CARDINAL POINT (nap) arrive on the back of comfortable AW wins last week, with the latter preferred.

Cypriot Diaspora completed a C&D double at Ffos Las and is likely to have her supporters, but a further 3lb rise might open the door for VALLEY OFTHE KINGS. Dylan Cunha's four-year-old had Mafnood just behind when filling the runner-up spot in this grade over C&D and may have more to offer on just his second handicap outing. With a similar performance, he could be the one to beat.

Cypriot Diaspora has hat-trick hopes but STENMARK made a winning start for his new yard on the AW and can improve further.

A prestigious race which has produced some top-class fillies in recent years and this season's renewal can go the way of the progressive MOON TARGET. The daughter of Cracksman didn't seem to handle the track at Goodwood last time out, but still ran well to finish second behind a talented rival and her two wins prior to that had been impressive. Arriving here on the back of a determined debut success at Deauville, Rose Ghaiyyath is likely to be thereabouts, as well as Venetian Lace, who brings a strong level of form to the table.

The biggest form contenders are MOON TARGET, Aylin and Venetian Lace. A few of the others bring potential.

Sir Rodneyredblood won this in 2022 and gets to race off 2lb lower. He could run into a place, but DUBAI MAGIC might be the one after finishing a short-head second over C&D last month. Only upped 1lb, she sits at the bottom of the handicap and can take full advantage. Startling is yet to win this year, but she may run another big race after a sequence of solid places.

Startling can go well again but perhaps this is the day things fall right for DUBAI MAGIC, only just denied over C&D in August.

Roman Secret hasn't run badly in any of her four appearances for the Kevin Frost stable and should remain competitive off a workable mark. Didaar made the frame over a mile at Ffos Las last time and is respected, but IREZUMI gets the vote. The five-year-old has finished in the top three in each of his last seven outings, most recently when third over 1m4f at Brighton, and this drop back in trip might work the oracle.

Last year's winner IMPERIAL CULT has returned to form lately and can repeat that success from a 3lb lower mark.

Danielle made a pleasing return to action when stepping up in trip for the Lillie Langtry at Goodwood and commands plenty of respect along with her stable companion Crepe Suzette, who may have been an unlucky loser at York in Listed company. The vote, though, goes to CONSENT following her runner-up effort at Deauville as this kind of test appears to be right up her street. Floresta showed a fine attitude to land the Vinnie Roe at Leopardstown and has to enter calculations.

Danielle and Crepe Suzette hold strong claims for the Gosdens but Sir Mark Prescott's 3yo CONSENT (nap) is capable of better.

This looks open and only a tentative vote can be afforded to WRATH OF HECTOR. Jessica Macey's eight-year-old wasn't far behind the reopposing Pinjarra (winner) when third in a C&D classified event three weeks ago. The son of Mayson is 4lb better off and with the likelihood of plenty of pace, he could be well positioned to strike. Sarabi hit the frame at Lingfield latest and is respected, for all that a wide draw isn't ideal.

Pinjarra is high on the shortlist but SAM'S HOPE should be well suited by stepping back up in distance.

Tom Cannon knows what it takes to win this race and has a chance again on board Westerton, who ran on strongly when fifth over 1m2f at Goodwood and is 2lb lower now. Expressionless was beaten less than a length in third at Catterick and could also go well, but EDUCATOR is preferred. Fourth in a better race at Southwell, the booking of Brendan Powell by Henrietta Knight seems to suggest they mean business.

Narragansett and Balhambar are respected. GIVE IT TO ME OJ would be giving them a lot more weight over hurdles and gets the nod.

TSWALU has been frustrating, but may be worth another chance. Joseph O'Brien's charge has now run up a sequence of six placed efforts and may not have quite seen out the extended mile and a half at Bellewstown. Her previous run over a bit further than 1m2f at Cork was a solid effort and a reproduction of that may be enough. Etawa hasn't really progressed from a promising debut. She's tried in a visor now, having been in blinkers last time, and has shown enough to be a big player in this. Walk The Highline has a few lengths to find with the selection from Cork, but is another who has to be considered.

Tswalu sets the standard with a mark of 83 but she is expensive to follow, and a chance is taken on ETAWA getting the best of her

FIRST PRINCIPLE has looked promising so far and arrives following a second career success at Windsor when justifying very short odds. Now pitched into handicap company, William Haggas' colt is expected to make further progress and score at the expense of Hopewell Rock, who looked in need of his return effort at Newbury. Devil's Advocate has been highly tried this season, including when fourth in the Dante, and is likely to be competitive dropped in class.

A strong 3yo handicap in which the vote goes to the progressive RESPOND at the foot of the weights. Castle Stuart is second choice.

Beaten less than two lengths into fifth having been caught further back than ideal, she's 1lb lower and could provide some value if able to build on that performance. Alyara hit the woodwork in that contest so is of obvious interest, while others to note include Desert Beauty and Poetic Jack.

The vote goes to DESERT BEAUTY, who is 2lb well in off the same mark as for her close second at Brighton ten days ago.

SO GOLDEN may prove the pick in a tricky contest. The Golden Horn filly ran a big race on her debut at Ballinrobe when losing out to classy jumper Buddy One. She didn't appear comfortable on the track in the closing stages at Tramore last time, but it was a solid effort to finish third to Kingstonian. There is still scope for improvement. Coul Dreamer showed some smart form over timber last season and was also placed a couple of times on the level in 2024. He's a potential danger. Eternal Echo is another winning hurdler who has to be respected now trying his hand on the Flat.

It was a highly encouraging debut by SO GOLDEN, and even though she was below that last time, he is selected to come out on top

The form was franked when the runner-up won a Listed event in France and a 2lb rise from the handicapper may well be on the lenient side. Reverberate is likely to be in the mix following his success at Catterick, while others to consider include Jeddaal and Crown Of Light.

This isn't made any easier by the fact most haven't run on softer than good. WECHAAD has been shaping up well and gets a tentative vote.

She weakened into third over the mile at Windsor so a drop in trip should suit and if first-time cheekpieces have a positive effect, she could have her day in the sun. H Key Lails has a C&D triumph to his name this year and is a threat, while Riot has become too well treated to ignore.

Love Is The Law should be in the thick of it but DUTCH FINALE still has an air of unfinished business about him.

ATLANTIS BLUE hit her head in the stalls at Goodwood and failed to get involved. George Baker's mare is better judged on her penultimate effort when second in a warm class 3 over the same C&D and, now dropped into a class 5, she ought to go very close. Ombrecell makes his turf debut having been in good form on the all-weather earlier in the year. He could mount a serious challenge if handling the switch, but recent Sandown victor Tronido might be a bigger threat.

A fair few can be considered but TRONIDO has clicked into gear again and can go back-to-back once more.

Fairlawn Skipper steps up in trip for his hurdling debut after a win and a second in bumpers this year. With plenty of stamina in his pedigree, he could improve considerably. Point-to-point second De Temps En Temps won his sole bumper before some solid efforts for Gavin Cromwell and could go well on his first start for new connections, but BETTY'S TIARA is preferred. Only beaten half a length at Worcester over this trip in July, she gets weight from the boys and looks well placed.

The safest option is BETTY'S TIARA, who has become rather frustrating but certainly deserves to get a hurdling win on the board.

CURROY LADY didn't appear to get home over further at Sligo last time and may be able to strike again now. The Ulysses filly won over a similar trip to this at Ballinrobe previously and there looks to be another race in her off a 5lb higher mark. Ms Olivia ran well when chasing home Jasmine Affanalis at Tipperary on her second handicap start and is a potential danger. Le Fleur Princess was half a length behind Ms Olivia last time and is now 3lb better off so has to come into calculations.

This trip is more suitable for CURROY LADY (nap). She won at around this distance and was disappointing over further last time

PACIFICA PIER's debut win at Sandown carries substance and he then had a valid excuse (carried right and short of room) when a close third under a penalty at Newmarket last time. He could be quite smart and the Godolphin-owned gelding can bounce straight back on his nursery debut. Last-time winners Mcmurray and Royal Bodyguard could benefit from a strong tempo and are serious threats to the selection.

Being the type to progress further and do well in handicaps, MCMURRAY is preferred. Crest Of Fire is second pick.

The Hugo Palmer-trained three-year-old remains in the same grade and a repeat of that display could suffice. Invincible Melody showed improvement in a first-time visor when second at Windsor and needs considering. Lessay is another to keep an eye on.

The vote goes to LESSAY who remains 3lb below his last winning mark and should have the race run to suit.

Runner-up on each of his last three starts, including on the all-weather at Chelmsford last time out, MAJAZ deserves a change in luck and this appeals as an ideal opportunity to get off the mark. Winter Flower didn't show much first time out at Goodwood, but she is entitled to improve, while Nasebah must be respected on debut for the Gosdens.

Winter Flower may take a step forward from her debut but this looks a good opportunity for MAJAZ to get off the mark.

Gorgeous Mr George made it three wins from his last four starts when bolting up at Yarmouth but, although respected, a subsequent 10lb rise could be a bridge too far. With that in mind, it might be best to side with AMIDST THE CHAOS. Nigel Tinkler's charge made a successful handicap bow at Doncaster before following up at Musselburgh and a further 7lb hike shouldn't be beyond the low-mileage gelding. Play Me is also noted.

Gorgeous Mr George and Amidst The Chaos are firmly on the up but PINK AZALEA has form here and likely has more to offer too.

EN AVANT missed the whole of 2024 but ran a race full of promise over C&D on his return, beaten less than two lengths into third. He is entitled to improve considerably for his first race in 20 months and gets to race off 1lb lower. Impression Chic was headed late on over further at Fontwell on her return and could last home dropping in trip, while Cartmel winner Dexter is noted too.

The front two came clear when DEXTER won at Cartmel and he should go well again off a 5lb higher mark.

IRON FIST didn't run too badly when mid-division at Galway and should appreciate a bit more ease in the ground. The New Bay gelding won a Killarney maiden in testing conditions in July and may have a bit more upside than some of his rivals here. Expound should appreciate going a bit further again. He is a consistent sort and Dylan O'Connor taking 7lb off his back should help. Sinbad My Dad ran a solid race when attempting to complete a Leopardstown double and is another for the shortlist.

Explode was the ready winner of a novice race over an extended 1m1f at Salisbury last month and debuts in a handicap with bags of scope for improvement over this longer trip. However, with several others entering this in good form, this represents a much stiffer test. The reliable CROWD QUAKE, who has won five of his last six starts, is more proven over this trip and is preferred. Munsif, Best Adventure and Muhaajim also command respect.

This could be yet another win for CROWD QUAKE who keeps pulling out more and more. Explode and Munsif are next on the list.

BLESSED STAR produced a career-best effort when filling the runner-up spot in a hot handicap at York and shouldn't have any issues with this drop back in trip. The daughter of Sottsass sets the standard with an official rating of 79 and looks tough to oppose. Shimmering Spin occupied the runner-up berth over C&D on his most recent start and might be the main threat, although Jazzit is another to watch out for.

The vote goes to BLESSED STAR who can gain a deserved first success having been placed in all seven previous starts.

Coloane has obvious claims under a penalty but DARING LEADER may be able to make two wins from his last three starts.

Wheresmemoneygone won at Perth in July and was then second here. Another 3lb rise may not stop him going close again, while Another Lord had an off-day when pulled up at Market Rasen but is better judged on his C&D success in June. However, a chance is taken on CARRIGLUX. A point-to-point winner, he finished third at Worcester on his debut for new connections and looked the sort to build on that significantly.

Preference is for CARRIGLUX, a low-mileage 9yo who was bang there at Worcester on his first run for this yard.

WARAZAM has been placed in three of her last four races and has a stronger chance than most in this field. She is holding her form well and, crucially, will handle cut in the ground. Chou Chou is not without his quirks, but has the ability to be a player off a mark of 48. Shane Foley gets the leg-up for the first time and is a good booking for the four-year-old gelding. He made the breakthrough at Tipperary in July and has prospects of doubling his total. Lohengrin will be hard to beat after a plan came together on the beach at Laytown last week. He does have a welter burden of 10st 6lb to overcome, though.

The two who catch the eye here are Warazam and CHOU CHOU, with slight preference given to the latter after some good recent runs

However, POLAR REBEL was just touched off over 7f at this venue last month and only has a 1lb higher rating to contend with. An eye-catcher on his handicap debut at Chelmsford last time out when not getting a clear run and staying on well in third, BELAYA RIVER is likely to relish going up to this trip and he is taken to break the maiden. Awarded first spot after interference at Ffos Las last month, Jedhi Knight should have more improvement forthcoming off 2lb higher, while Captain Robert and Star Of Markinch are others to note.

Star Of Markinch is second choice behind BELAYA RIVER who posted an improved effort on handicap debut. This trip is worth exploring.

Icare Allen sprung a 33/1 surprise when scoring over track and trip in July and should mount a bold bid, but the vote goes to VOCITO. Olly Murphy's charge struck over 2m at this track prior to being well held in a warmer event than this at Perth last time. This step up in trip looks the right move and he is the one to side with. My Chiquita isn't out of it either.

Fergal O'Brien's LIVERPOOL KNIGHT (nap) continues to knock on the door and is more reliable than Icare Allen who beat him last time.

TEED UP has been freshened up since his Galway exertions and appeals in a good race. He won a staying handicap on the Flat in Ballybrit before finishing a fair fourth in a handicap hurdle three days later. He's unlikely to be stopping at the end of this stamina test. Bottler'secret is a 137-rated hurdler having his second start for Aidan Melia and is actually two from three on the Flat, so he has to enter calculations. Royal Hollow wasn't a factor in two Galway contests, but she does have the capabilities for this assignment and shouldn't be underestimated. Jabbar, Shoda (first-time tongue-strap), Party Dress and the tough Happy Jacky add further spice to the mix.

Beaten 0.5l by Teed Up at Galway, SHODA now meets that rival 4lb better off and is selected to come out on top

Not Now Nathaniel gained a first success on the level at Newmarket, but a 5lb rise does ask more of Donald McCain's mare. With that in mind, LIGHTNING TOUCH may have the perfect opportunity to get off the mark. The daughter of Frankel went close when denied by a head at Wolverhampton and remains unexposed over 1m4f. Idyllic and Pique' appeal most of the remainder.

There could be more to come from NOT NOW NATHANIEL (nap) and she's preferred to Billiegee, Pique' and Lightning Touch.

Chosen Bae made a winning handicap debut at Bangor in February and now makes her return to action. The application of a first-time hood after that success is a slight concern, though, and QUEENS WISH gets the nod. The six-year-old mare finished third over an extended 2m at Market Rasen in June and was dropped 2lb for that effort. She makes just her fourth start in a handicap and may have more to offer. Bella Civena is another to note.

A few of these remain unexposed but tentative preference is for Irish point winner PRINCESSE MILANIA, who makes her handicap debut.

Weather Alert has been mostly out of form over flights, but reverts to the level off a very appealing mark. Takarengo, who was placed on his last two starts, is well in the hunt for more prize money, while The Mediator cannot be dismissed lightly.

Al Joory took a step back in the right direction when placing at Kempton and has to be respected off an unchanged mark. Vibrant Pearl got her head in front at Carlisle last time and appears to be an obvious contender, but NOVAMAY has every chance of bouncing back to form. Michael Dods' filly had been hugely progressive until struggling when upped in class at York and she makes plenty of appeal back in calmer waters.

The return to fillies' only company can see MISS HATHAWAY record her third win of the year. Unexposed Vibrant Pearl is feared most.

Hammer Dan has undergone a wind operation since his third at Worcester in July and sports first-time cheekpieces, so is one to keep an eye on. Mind Hunter is an interesting contender now that he is sent back over hurdles, but JUNGLE WOOD looks the one to be on. The six-year-old went in by just under a length at Worcester on his latest outing and, if in similar form, he will prove hard to beat.

The pick is SCUDAMORE, who held every chance before his last-flight fall in what has turned out to be a warm race at Stratford in May.

DARK NOTE could snap a frustrating sequence of three runner-up spots in a row. His second in a much higher grade at Killarney in July has been franked by the winner, and slower ground holds no fears for him. He knows where the winning post is with four successes across all codes. Migdam was a comfortable winner of a Tramore maiden hurdle last month and ought to be a factor off a mark of 65 here. Ehteyat kept on for third over an extended 1m6f in Killarney and is one for the shortlist over this trip, while No Big Deal and Make Good are others pitching for a cheque.

A breakthrough win is on the card for NO BIG DEAL, placed over hurdles since a lively run on the Flat at Leopardstown

GET UP EVERYBODY has gradually improved in his most recent outings and the son of Invincible Army has every chance of going one better following his runner-up effort at Thirsk. Promise Time brings a consistent level of form to the table and commands plenty of respect, while Sole Spirit is worth forgiving his disappointing attempt to land the hat-trick at Carlisle.

Sole Spirit and Promise Time are respected but FAN MAIL's AW form suggests he could be revived by today's return to Tapeta.

Monsieur Bondy built on a promising debut effort when getting off the mark at Redcar, but he may face a tougher ask in trying to give 7lb to SPITZBERGEN. The Crisfords' gelding returned from a wind operation to finish second at Kempton and the overall strength of that display may be enough for him to go one better. Correspondence remains open to improvement on just his third career outing.

A penalty could scupper Monsieur Bondy and SPITZBERGEN is taken to get off the mark at the fourth attempt.

BUTTERCROSS FLYER was forced to race wide throughout when she was a creditable third at Lingfield on Monday and the quick reappearance back on Tapeta suggests connections hold strong hopes of the four-year-old extending her good run of recent form. Cooperation also appeals after a near miss over a mile here 13 days ago, with a 2lb higher rating looking fair. All four of Tasever's previous career wins came at this venue and he is another must for consideration.

Cooperation holds good claims but BANTZ returned to some form last time and he's taken to double his C&D tally.

Even though reliability probably isn't King Sharja's greatest asset, he has won back-to-back races before and and cannot be ruled out from supplementing his Beverley success gained at the end of July. However, the still competitively-weighted ENPASSANT has a slightly stronger overall profile and he gets the vote after a win and second-placed finish from his last two starts. Carolus Magnus and Patontheback can also be on the premises at this level.

The drop back to 6f didn't seem to suit MISTER INVINCIBLE last time and he's preferred ahead of Enpassant.
