CRYSTAL GLANCE pulled clear with a subsequent three-time winner when scoring over 2m at Uttoxeter on her handicap debut, before finishing an admirable second behind a useful type at Doncaster. Stepping up in trip off a 3lb higher mark, she looks the one to be with. The class-dropping Little Miss Dante hasn't been disgraced, despite being a beaten favourite the last twice, and she warrants the utmost respect at this level. Lavida Adiva looks the pick of the remainder.

CRYSTAL GLANCE is going the right way and this longer trip could unlock further improvement. She is fancied to return to winning ways. Could Be Trouble and Majestic Jameela can also make their presence felt.

A chance is taken on SWEET MAGIC, who makes her second start since an absence and is on a handy mark on her best 2023 efforts.

RICHMOND LAKE reappeared with a highly encouraging fourth in the Grand Sefton here and that should have teed him up perfectly for a tilt at this. Off the same mark as when successful over C&D last season, Donald McCain's charge gets the nod. Westerninthepark was a solid second behind a smart type at Cheltenham and he commands attention off 3lb higher. Heltenham didn't fire on his Newbury return, but better is expected now.

Preference is for RICHMOND LAKE, who is back on his last winning mark and ran a cracker in the Grand Sefton here last month. Westerninthepark may have more to offer over fences yet and rates the principal threat.

Progressive and boasting some solid form, WESTERNINTHEPARK (nap) looks the one to beat after a fine second at Cheltenham last month.

Unbeaten in four starts under Rules, Potters Charm arrives on the back of an impressive victory in a Cheltenham Grade 2 over 2m5f and he will doubtless be popular with punters once more. The step back in trip does pose a question to him so a chance is taken on ROADLESSTRAVELLED, who showed a likeable attitude when beating subsequent winner Country Mile at Haydock and can confirm his superiority over that rival en route to victory once more. The form of Celtic Dino's recent Ascot triumph has a strong look to it and he must enter calculations, while Junker D'allier could be anything.

POTTERS CHARM is yet to taste defeat under Rules and upped his game further when scoring in decisive fashion at Cheltenham last month. He can extend his winning run. All of his rivals are open to improvement but Country Mile and Roadlesstravelled are feared most.

All of these have potential but POTTERS CHARM has the best form and Nigel Twiston-Davies' 5yo is taken to extend his winning run.

A respectable fifth in the Greatwood last time out when keeping on at the finish, FLORIDA DREAMS looks well worth a go at this trip and the fact he won a Grade 2 bumper here is another plus. An easy winner within a week at Sandown and Wetherby, Act Of Authority is a key player in his bid for the hat-trick, while Uncle Bert is interesting on his return to hurdles. El Jefe, who sprung a surprise at the Grand National meeting here, cannot be be ruled out on his reappearance.

ACT OF AUTHORITY is asked his sternest question to date now his new mark has kicked in, yet he could well be up to the task judged on the manner of his victories at Sandown/Wetherby and he shades the vote with the Olly Murphy stable continuing in fine form. Florida Dreams and Patriotik rate next best, ahead of Uncle Bert who switches back from a spell chasing.

Having kept on well for fifth over 2m in the Greatwood at Cheltenham, FLORIDA DREAMS could prove ideally suited by today's trip.

FORTUNATE MAN showed major improvement from his first to his second start over fences when narrowly denied at Carlisle and a 4lb rise for that effort could prove lenient. The five-year-old has most to fear from Ikarak, who justified favouritism on his first start for Olly Murphy over the smaller obstacles at Warwick. Duke Of Deception and Gustavian are capable of getting involved as well.

FORTUNATE MAN posted a personal best when only narrowly failing to score at Carlisle earlier this month and is unexposed as a staying chaser. He can open his account over fences here. Ikarak and Duke of Deception should also go well.

The 5yo FORTUNATE MAN was short-headed at Carlisle this month on his second chase start and can go one better today.

After winning well at Ffos Las, there is no doubt that BOOSTER BOB was disappointing when only third at Warwick last time. However, that was probably a really strong race, given the winner subsequently finished runner-up in a Listed contest, and Olly Murphy's charge is worth another chance. Only four go to post but this is competitive, with Ayr winner Doyen Du Bar and the consistent Inedit Star in opposition. Ballee is also interesting going second time up after wind surgery on his chase bow.

DOYEN DU BAR hasn't been harshly treated by the handicapper for his winning Ayr reappearance and can follow up. Booster Bob rates the principal danger.

The safest option is DOYEN DU BAR who jumped soundly when making all at Ayr and may have even more to offer.

The bumper OLD BLUE EYES won at Sedgefield looked a strong race. The second has since franked the form by winning at Catterick and Donald McCain's charge might be a bit of value in the finale up against Dalston Lad, a point-to-point winner who made no mistake on his Rules bow at Ayr in October. Perhaps Fergal O'Brien's horses have started to turn a corner following Crambo's Long Walk success, and point scorer Is This For Real could go well as a result.

Despite clear signs of greenness DALSTON LAD was still able to run out a ready winner of a 7-runner Ayr bumper 2 months ago and, entitled to have derived plenty from that, Dan Skelton's charge is fancied to follow-up. Fellow debutant winner Old Blue Eyes and newcomer Is This For Real head up the dangers in the finale.

None can be ruled out but top billing goes to DALSTON LAD, whose impressive Ayr success has had its form boosted already.
Ths is the racecard key.
