Golden Ambition justified favouritism in good style when recording a double at Lingfield on his latest outing and he should give a good account off a 6lb higher rating. However, CIRCUIT BREAKER gets the nod. The son of Nathaniel was impressive when victorious on his first start over hurdles at Kempton before being beaten into third in a warmer event next time. Judged on each of those efforts, he could be capable of defying an opening mark of 118. Just Lucky Sivola completes the shortlist.

This could be competitive for the numbers and JUST LUCKY SIVOLA gets the marginal vote after opening his account at Hereford last time. Golden Ambition is improving in blinkers and poses a major threat, while Gotthereintheend is of interest making his first start for an in-form stable.

Just Lucky Sivola and Golden Ambition have glaring claims but watch out also for GOTTHEREINTHEEND.

SCARFACE had Galop De Chasse (third) a length behind when filling the runner-up spot in this grade at Newbury last month, and he should be able to confirm his authority over that rival as they compete on the same terms. Joe Tizzard's seven-year-old is a previous course winner and it would be no surprise to see him go one better. Prince Quali finished third at Newbury last time and may go well, while Kotmask isn't out of it either.

SCARFACE ran his best race since the spring from his reduced mark when runner-up at Newbury 22 days ago and a repeat gives him good claims for the stable that landed this prize 12 months ago. Kotmask and Galop de Chasse are feared most in what is a competitive affair.

After two solid runs here last month, KOTMASK (nap) can improve again now back up in distance on slower ground. Scarface is feared.

JAMES DU BERLAIS has competed in hot handicaps on each of his last five starts, including when second in the Topham in April. If he can bring that level of form to the table, then the eight-year-old ought to go close. Iroko was not disgraced in the Turners at the Cheltenham Festival in March and merits respect after filling second at Haydock on his seasonal return last time. Fil Dor can beat Jungle Boogie home for third.

A tightly knit and high-quality minor race in which a case of sorts can be made for each of the quartet. Preference though, is for IROKO, who could hardly have shaped better when second on Haydock reappearance and he could end up in the very top company this season. Jungle Boogie is perhaps the pick of the Irish opposition.

A tight race in which cases can be made for all four. JAMES DU BERLAIS might be ideally suited by this intermediate trip.

STRONG LEADER followed up his Grade 1 Liverpool Hurdle success with a cosy win in the Long Distance Hurdle at Newbury last month and could again be hard to beat. However, The Wallpark is progressive and looks a serious player as he bids to round out a five-timer. Last year's winner Crambo is unbeaten at this venue and cannot be ruled out, while the Haydock scorer Shoot First is still developing as a stayer and is another to note.

STRONG LEADER hasn't looked back since sent over staying trips and with his yard well among the winners too he rates a confident choice to bag a second Grade 1 here. Irish-raiders Hiddenvalley Lake and The Wallpark both arrive on the up and can ensure Olly Murphy's high-class 7-y-o doesn't have things all his own way though, with last year's victor Crambo also in the picture.

He was good at shorter, but STRONG LEADER has proved a revelation since upped to 3m and he's the best of the British in this division.

VICTTORINO was a game winner of this race 12 months ago and must have every chance of retaining his crown from just 1lb higher. A creditable third off this mark in the Coral Gold Cup three weeks ago, the Venetia Williams-trained gelding gets the vote. Trelawne got his season off to a flyer at Haydock last month and, unexposed over this trip, he looks the chief threat. Rehearsal Chase runner-up The Changing Man and the consistent French-raider Heloy Delabarriere are other strong contenders.

VICTTORINO was a back-to-back winner over C&D this time last season (latterly this race) and, likely to be sharper with his reappearance behind him, Venetia Williams is fancied to continue her purple patch and snag another significant pot. Heading up the dangers is The Changing Man, who was unlucky to bump into one in the Rehearsal Chase at Newcastle 3 weeks ago, with recent Haydock winner Trelawne and French-raider Heloy Delabarriere taken to fight out third.

Slight preference, ahead of Victtorino, is for the untapped potential over this sort of trip brought by TRELAWNE.

DYSART ENOS has been reliable as well as profitable to follow under Rules. Although she found a couple too good in a strong renewal of the Greatwood at Cheltenham last month, her third-placed finish that day was still a solid foundation to build on here. Be Aware was one place in front of the selection in that race and although respected, might struggle to uphold the form off 3lb worse terms. The unbeaten Kabral Du Mathan and Secret Squirrel complete the shortlist.

A really strong renewal, featuring a few progressive sorts. While this is a different test to the one KABRAL DU MATHAN faced in a small field on his Kempton handicap debut he won with plenty in hand and could easily still be well ahead of his mark. Dysart Enos is taken to turn around Greatwood form with Be Aware and give the selection most to so. Reappearing Scottish Champion winner Favour And Fortune completes the shortlist.

The Greatwood second BE AWARE and third Dysart Enos can come to the fore again. Kabral Du Mathan and Impero are shortlisted.
