100/1(-52%) | (11) Wherearethejudges 100/1, Ran well for a long way on a promising debut when comfortably held in a novice hurdle at Carlisle. Effective at 2m4f on soft ground and should progress with experience. Has shown some ability but others possess stronger form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (150/1 -50%)Coylton King |
150/1(-50%) | (4) Coylton King 150/1, Below form when well beaten in a maiden hurdle at Carlisle last time. Effective at 2m on soft ground, and the step up in trip should suit. Promising fourth in a bumper here but unable to threaten on his two hurdle starts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

200/1(-100%) | (7) Rock On Max 200/1, Again ran to a moderate level when comfortably held in a maiden hurdle at Carlisle last time. Proven at 3m in points but likely to need more time to develop. Failed to threaten in his three Irish maiden points and same story in two maiden hurdles. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Second on each of his three starts under Rules, with two of those placed efforts coming over timber, Sleedagh sets a fair standard and is expected to be thereabouts again. The vote, however, goes to KINGS CHAMPION. An extended 2m looked on the sharp side at Market Rasen so stepping up in trip should play to his strengths and progress is anticipated. Solid Performer, Cushendun and Blofeld are others to consider.

Having been knocking at the door in a couple of warm maiden hurdles, SLEEDAGH is taken to get off the mark.

(1) (33/1 -230%)Abbey Scope |

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Perth bumper winner Wilstar has undergone wind surgery since a disappointing hurdling bow at Newbury. With a first-time tongue-tie applied, it would come as no surprise were he to step forward, but preference is for LIKE MINDED. The JP McManus-owned gelding made a satisfactory debut over C&D last month and although it suggested further might be more suitable, he wouldn't need to find stacks of improvement. Largy Meadow finished second in a Ballinrobe bumper over the summer and is worth a market check ahead of his stable debut.

The blue-blooded WILSTAR impressed when winning a bumper at Perth in April and has had wind surgery since his hurdle debut flop.

(5) (11/1 +21%)The Jeweller's Pet |
11/1(+21%) | (5) The Jeweller's Pet 11/1, Failed to get home when fourth, beaten 26l, in a handicap chase at Hexham when tried in cheekpieces. Effective at 2m4f and acts on heavy and soft ground; the drop in trip should help. Has failed to transfer his hurdles form to chasing; something to prove. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

A confident vote goes to POWEROFJET, who was able to build on an encouraging chase debut to score at Newcastle. Martin Todhunter's seven-year-old is tasked with a step up in class, coupled with a 7lb rise, but he has scope for considerable progress. Ballyfort won at Kelso in October and is arguably the main danger, and Rock On Jet can be forgiven his latest performance when pulled up over C&D.

With further progress plausible, POWEROFJET (nap) is taken to follow up his Newcastle success. Ballyfort is second pick.

FOREST BLAZE bounced back to form in first-time cheekpieces here last month. Beaten only a length in second, this extra furlong offers the prospect of further improvement and Mark Walford's charge gets another chance. Runner-up at Doncaster on his return from a layoff, Big Storm Brewing cannot be ruled out with any confidence, while Shadow Chaser can get involved with a reproduction of his good effort here in November.

The suggestion is BIG STORM BREWING, who ran a big race in defeat on his seasonal debut at Doncaster three weeks ago.

(14) (80/1 -21%)Whispering Dancer |
80/1(-21%) | (14) Whispering Dancer 80/1, Poor chase debut in cheekpieces, finishing down the field in a handicap chase at Hexham last time; off a short break; major improvement needed. The slower ground could help but plenty to prove from miles out of the handicap. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

CELESTIAL FASHION returned to the fray with an impressive display at Carlisle on only her fourth start over the larger obstacles. Ian Duncan's mare won with any amount in hand over 2m4f and this extra test of stamina should play to her strengths. Wal Buck's will appreciate the return to softer ground and drops in class with a shout, while recent C&D winner Wholly Boley remains unexposed and could shape well again.

The mare CELESTIAL FASHION impressed at Carlisle and her pedigree provides optimism she can take this step up in trip in her stride.

22/1(-57%) | (8) Great Pepper 22/1, Unseated rider in a handicap chase at Wetherby last time; effective from 2m4f to 2m6f and suited by plenty of cut, but unreliable and has had issues. Hasn't kicked on from 2023 promise but it's possible things will click again today. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Junker D'allier has shown his best form over two miles but, with Sean Bowen back in the saddle, it wouldn't be surprising if he is at least on the premises if his stamina holds out. However, Irish raider CLOONAINRA is more proven over this distance and with this representing a drop down in class, John McConnell's mare shades preference. Captain Butler and Young Jack are others to consider.

Jimmy Moffatt has had a few horses run well at nice prices of late and a chance is taken on GREAT PEPPER. Young Jack is a danger.

300/1(-100%) | (5) Baptism Of Fire 300/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Haydock last time; effective from 2m4f to 3m; inconsistent and needs to prove ability remains after a layoff. Pulled up on both starts last year, following a very long absence. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Ikarak is consistent, stays well and has already won three times when partnered by Sean Bowen. However, he was a well-held third off this mark at Sandown last month and again looks vulnerable. Therefore, preference is for AUTHORIZED MISSION, who successfully debuted for Nicky Richards at Kelso before losing little in defeat when second to an in-form rival at the same venue. He appears progressive enough to cope with a 5lb rise. Whistle Stop Tour and Highland Fashion are other appealing options.

Unexposed over staying trips, HIGHLAND FASHION is given the vote ahead of Ikarak and Authorized Mission.
Ths is the racecard key.
