Runner-up on both of his career starts, Moon Man ought to make a good fist of things if proving as effective on the turf but, though respected, JUNGLE LAND shades preference. This looks a good starting point for the son of Kodiac, who is a half-brother to the useful Fresh. Karl Burke's juveniles have been firing on the grass so far this year and it would come as no surprise were he to make an immediate impact. Spiritual Pursuit can chase the pair home.

It's hard to get away from MOON MAN, who has posted fairly-useful form in both starts thus far and remains open to improvement. Karl Burke's debutant Jungle Land has an appealing pedigree and may provide the chief threat.

After running well in defeat on both AW starts, MOON MAN may not need to improve to open his account on this turf debut.

Sound Of Iona finds herself extremely well handicapped on last year's turf form and should not be underestimated despite a poor string of results, while Emperor Caradoc, who is similarly well treated, could improve for a drop in trip and the fitting of first-time cheekpieces. That being said, it is SIXCOR that gets the vote. Linda Perratt's six-year-old has gained three of his four turf victories over C&D and is now 5lb lower than when finishing down the field in this race 12 months ago.

A trappy handicap and with that in mind it may pay to take a chance on ACONCAGUA MOUNTAIN. He's fallen to a handy mark on the pick of last season's efforts and the return to this track/trip could spark a revival. Golden Rainbow arrives in good nick and is feared, with returning pair Havagomecca and Ski Angel others worth a look.

With most of these out of form it's hard not to be drawn towards GOLDEN RAINBOW, who has won twice on Tapeta this year.

GLOBAL HUMOR found only an in-form rival too strong when occupying the runner-up berth over 6f here on Monday, and this looks to be a good opportunity for Jim Goldie's gelding to go one better. Stablemate and perennial slow starter Rory is competitively treated and ought to hold every chance if breaking on terms, while the lightly-raced Plink is worth closer inspection in the first-time tongue-tie.

In a contest where few arrive with compelling claims GLOBAL HUMOR is taken to go one better than over 6f here on Monday. Zebra Star and Gordonstoun might be the pair to give him most to think about.

The most obvious answer is GLOBAL HUMOR, who makes a quick reappearance after keeping on well for second over 6f here on Monday.

Less exposed than her rivals, ROSE DONNELLY can make some good headway now she tackles handicaps and looks worth chancing on her debut run in this sphere, especially as she runs off a workable mark. All-weather scorer Midnight Lion, who has experience under both codes, rates the chief threat to selection on his first Flat run on turf, while Pol Roger enters calculations with this step up in distance a potential source of improvement.

Having shaped well in a couple of minor events, SYCAMORE GAP wasn't able to improve straight away switched to a handicap at Wolverhampton last time, but he's well worth another chance on turf. He's bred to be suited by this longer trip and can get the better of handicap-debutante Rose Donnelly, with Midnight Lion also in the mix.

The one with most potential is ROSE DONNELLY (nap), who makes her handicap/turf debut after an encouraging fourth on AW last month.

HEADABOVETHEREST got better the further he went over 7f at Newcastle 16 days ago and was only outdone by one who got first run on the day. That was promising given it was his first run since having a wind operation and, with this longer trip a key factor, the Rebecca Menzies-trained four-year-old shades the vote. Farhhfromforgotten is feared on just his third run for current connections, while Vellner also appeals off an attractive mark.

HEADABOVETHEREST has made a positive start for Rebecca Menzies and, after finding one too good at Newcastle last time, he's capable of going one better in a thin race. Vellner is a danger dropping in grade and Retirement Beckons can't be dismissed.

With the others all arriving with serious questions to answer, recent Newcastle runner-up HEADABOVETHEREST makes strong appeal.

ANIMATO performed creditably to finish third over 1m4f at Doncaster last Friday, despite suffering interference at the start. This longer distance could be a good move on the back of that encouraging effort and the David O'Meara-trained gelding appeals most. Tafsir also turns out quickly after Monday's near miss over 1m5f here and is a must for consideration off the same mark. Show No Fear completes the shortlist.

TAFSIR stepped up on her reappearance when runner-up here on Monday and Jim Goldie's mare looks up to going one better if able to repeat that effort. Animato shaped well at Chelmsford on his penultimate outing and also has to be respected stepped back up in trip, with Yakhabar preferred of the remaining trio.

Preference is for ANIMATO, who returned to turf with a good effort on slower-than-ideal ground at Doncaster on Friday.
Ths is the racecard key.
