CALSHOT SPIT has been in fine form under both codes of late and a return to softer ground conditions holds no fear. Sheena West's charge looks fairly treated off 6lb higher than last month's C&D victory and he's taken to follow up. Russian Rumour also has a good record here and a reproduction of her latest second at Ffos Las would likely see her involved. The seven-year-old is feared most, ahead of Made For You.

Plenty are in with a shout. C&D winner RUSSIAN RUMOUR rates the pick at these weights so edges the vote at the chief expense of Catterck runner-up Tarbat Ness. Grey Owl, Al Sayah and Calshot Spit all need considering too in this very open contest.

If recent C&D winner Calshot Spit has a chance then so too does TIGERTEN (nap) who has a 6lb pull for last month's defeat.

RORY ROCKET should have learned plenty from his debut experience when second on a quick surface at Brighton last month and a breakthrough victory could be in the offing. Although the son of Aclaim faces more testing ground conditions here, his pedigree suggests that it may not be a problem. Think Of A Name looks the type who will enjoy this drop in distance and he may serve the most resistance to the selection. Bust A Moon is next best.

This is likely to go the way of RORY ROCKET, who shaped well amid greenness when runner-up on debut in a Brighton maiden and he will be more street-wise this time. It was rather surprising that Bust A Moon contested a 7f race on his recent introduction at Chelmsford given his speedy pedigree, and he is likely to be seen in an altogether better light now down to the minimum trip. Think of A Name and newcomer Mini Mac are others to consider.

This is a modest contest and it wouldn't be a surprise should MINI MAC have a major say on his debut.

SISTERS IN THE SKY returned to form when staying on into third over track and trip nine days ago. The five-year-old did best of those held up that day and compensation could beckon in this company. The biggest threat may emerge from Louis Treize, who is 1lb lower than his respectable third at Chepstow last month. You Are Everything's mark continues to fall and a return to this venue may help.

FIRENZE ROSA has failed to fire the last twice but the addition of blinkers and forecast soft surface may prove to be a winning combination for this 9-y-o. She shades preference ahead of Sisters In The Sky, who scored off a 1 lb higher mark here during the summer and he put in a good late work following a tardy start when third over C&D last week. Louis Treize and You Are Everything can do battle for minor honours.

All of these find winning difficult these days. Marginal preference is for SISTERS IN THE SKY who ran well here last week.

Lmay sets the standard on official ratings and is respected, but she has yet to score at this level and might have to settle for a minor placing. Fairy Glen was narrowly denied in a similar event at Longchamp recently and another bold bid looks likely, but it is FOREST FAIRY that shades preference. Off the track since failing to fire in the Lancashire Oaks at Haydock, she looks certain to appreciate an ease in grade and it would come as no surprise were she to bounce back.

FAIRY GLEN should have more to come as her stamina is drawn out and it's worth taking a chance that she can cope with ground that is likely to be much softer than she's faced previously. Dual Grade 1 hurdle winner Marie's Rock showed very useful form on her Flat debut back in May and is second choice ahead of Lmay. It also wouldn't come as a surprise to see Forest Fairy resume her progression with her sights lowered after a break.

With Ralph Beckett's yard on a high it could be worth chancing FOREST FAIRY. This softer ground could be what she's after.

FAR FROM DANDY kept on powerfully to score over the mile at Yarmouth three weeks ago. With the step up in trip and differing ground conditions unlikely to be an issue, George Boughey's colt can defy the penalty en route to further success. Super Mirage comfortably defeated King Kernow (second) here on his debut and can confirm his superiority over that rival. Hi Ya Mal is another who merits consideration.

Several of these are open to improvement now stepping up in trip and the 3 previous winners look the ones to focus on, MARBUSH selected to take another step forward and take her record to 2-4. Second choice is Far From Dandy, who had clearly learnt plenty from his debut when getting off the mark in good style at Yarmouth 3 weeks ago. Course winner Super Mirage can edge out sole filly Tap Dancer for minor honours.

Marbush may prove best of the penalised winners but TAP DANCER is getting lots of weight as a filly.

RED CLOUD is the most progressive of these and, having shown distance versatility, dropping back to 1m2f shouldn't be much of an issue given he scored readily over this trip at Chepstow in June. An even easier winner over 1m4f at Lingfield most recently, the selection can cement his authority under topweight here. Fellow last-time-out winner Harlington is feared most, while Make A Scene is also noteworthy with first-time cheekpieces added.

RED CLOUD is steadily on the up and had something to spare when scoring at Lingfield last month, so he's the obvious one to side with ahead of Harlington, the other last-time-out winner in the field. Most of the others have a bit to prove but Bramble Jelly isn't ruled out.

The tongue tie appeared to help RED CLOUD last time and he is taken to follow up that career best with another win back on turf.

SAVANNAH SMILES is taken to supplement the Chepstow success gained on her penultimate start. The selection wasn't beaten far under a penalty on the Polytrack at Lingfield most recently and, back on turf, she can be a force in this company. Drying conditions would be a positive for Lahina Bay, while Moe's Legacy is consistent and also warrants serious thought in an open event.

To say MOE'S LEGACY has been knocking on the door of late would be an understatement, beaten less than a length by one rival on her last 3 outings and it's easy enough to envisage her making all this time. Miss Bella Brand eases in class so is feared most.

Lahina Bay is better than she showed last time but MISS BELLA BRAND usually tackles stronger opposition and can defy top weight.
Ths is the racecard key.
