Justified confidence on nursery debut here and a 3lb rise could be manageable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (5/1 -122%)Thisonesforyou |
5/1(-122%) | (4) Thisonesforyou 5/1, Improved when switched to handicaps, landing one by 3/4l off 58 at Leicester last time; trainer in form; suited by 8f, acts on good; big, strong colt with scope for further progress. Up 6lb for narrow Leicester win (1m) but the front two did pull clear; unraced on soft. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (18/1 +0%)Gullane Girl |
18/1(+0%) | (8) Gullane Girl 18/1, Scored by 2 1/4l off 54 at Salisbury in August; below form since; visor on for the first time; wide draw; effective 7/8f, acts on good to soft; has enough to prove on recent form. Did win in first-time blinkers so could stage a revival in another change of headgear. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (9/1 -38%)Betty Lemon |
9/1(-38%) | (5) Betty Lemon 9/1, Bit below form when fourth beaten 8 1/2l in a maiden at Brighton last time; effective 7/8f, acts on good to soft and good; likely to appreciate further but more chance now handicapping. 16/1(-113%) | (1) Emerald Coast 16/1, Below form when well beaten in a maiden over 7f at Chester on slower ground last time; effective over nearly 8f, acts on good to firm; longer trips in nurseries could bring improvement. Easily her best run was the first; bit to prove on a few counts on this nursery debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (3) (6/1 +20%)Corduroy |
6/1(+20%) | (3) Corduroy 6/1, Below form and always behind in a maiden at Kempton most recently; wears a tongue-tie for the first time; bred to stay, acts on soft; could improve now handicapping in first-time tongue-tie. Poor so far but a well-bred colt who is now fitted with a tongue-tie; possible improver. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

TAKEITORLEAVEIT showed a big chunk of improvement after being gelded and sporting first-time cheekpieces to score on nursery debut at Brighton last month. Jonathan Portman's juvenile could have more to offer and can defy his 3lb rise. Thisonesforyou boasts a similar profile after striking off an opening rating of 58 at Leicester earlier this month and commands respect. Betty Lemon makes her nursery bow and warrants a market check.

The filly BETTY LEMON ran better last time than the bare result may imply and she rates a likely improver now sent into nurseries.

3/1(+0%) | (1) Arc Ole Ole 3/1, Fair debut in a decent novice when beaten 7l at Newmarket; bred to stay 1m4f or further and expected to improve on that initial effort. Considered. Competitive for a long way last week at Newmarket (1m, good) and his RPR was respectable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (4/1 +50%)Heroics |
4/1(+50%) | (3) Heroics 4/1, Fair debut, staying on late from off the pace when 3 1/2l fourth in a novice here first time out; effective at 8f and bred for further; normal progress should see him go close. Slowly away and inexperienced before keeping on for an encouraging fourth here 21 days ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (14/1 -155%)Alkumatic Jo Jo |
14/1(-155%) | (6) Alkumatic Jo Jo 14/1, Backed up debut effort when upped in trip and finishing fourth beaten 3l in a Kempton maiden last time; off a short break; turf debut and may prove vulnerable. Beaten under 3l in 7f/1m maidens on the Kempton AW in August. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (10) (16/1 +52%)Mohaab |
16/1(+52%) | (10) Mohaab 16/1, Below form when down the field in a novice at Kempton last time; effective at 7/8f; well exposed compared to these rivals. Six-race maiden who has already come up short in two nurseries; others preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

5/1(+55%) | (5) Solar Phoenix 5/1, Fair debut when beaten 4l in a novice here, shaping as though needing the run; effective at 8f; likely to improve but needs to get off the mark. Ran similar race to fourth-placed Heroics when both were behind Pantile's Gift here. |

18/1(-125%) | (9) Kokoluna 18/1, 18 Mar; Ulysses filly; half-sister to Sagittarius, useful at 5f; dam useful at 6f at 2yo; probably best watched on debut. Half-sister to 5f 2yo winner Sagittarius (RPR 77); dam 6f AW 2yo winner (74). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (66/1 -200%)Head Girl |
66/1(-200%) | (8) Head Girl 66/1, Improved on a modest debut when beaten 9 1/4l in a novice here last time; bred to be effective over 1m4f; likely to do better once handicapping. Showed more here last time but was still well held and appeals as one for nurseries. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (4) (4/1 0%)Pantile's Gift |
4/1(0%) | (4) Pantile's Gift 4/1, Improved effort when ridden from the front up in trip, finishing second beaten a head in a novice here last time; effective at 7/8f; improving but may have better prospects in handicaps. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (11) (11/1 -144%)Yorkies Dream |
11/1(-144%) | (11) Yorkies Dream 11/1, Fair debut wearing a hood when third beaten 3 1/2l in a novice over 7f at Redcar; effective at 7f and acts on good to soft; should improve upped in trip though more is needed. Made a nice debut when also hooded at Redcar (7f, good to soft), finishing well for third. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Pantile's Gift has improved with each of his three appearances and his most recent third here gives him every chance. However, YORKIES DREAM outran her odds of 22/1 on debut to finish third at Redcar at the start of the month and is likely to take a step forward from that display. The Easterbys' filly looks to have found a suitable opportunity to shed her maiden tag. Solar Phoenix is another to keep an eye on.

Pantile's Gift nearly made all here three weeks ago but HEROICS and Solar Phoenix were eyecatchers in behind.

1st (6) (7/2 -40%)Albus Anne |
7/2(-40%) | (6) Albus Anne 7/2, Improved again, relishing deep ground when landing a handicap by 2 1/2l off 61 over 8f here last time. Effective at 8f, likes heavy and soft ground; in fine form and has a good chance of following up back up in trip. Another win here in September and the 5lb rise could have been worse. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (7/2 +50%)Mighty Quiet |
7/2(+50%) | (2) Mighty Quiet 7/2, Won this last year and scored by 3/4l off 66 at Windsor on her penultimate start. Bit below form, not picking up off her new mark last time; effective at 10f, best form with give, but needs more off the same mark. Last year's winner; inconsistent but has a big run in him off this mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) (9/1 +36%)Hot Topic |
9/1(+36%) | (8) Hot Topic 9/1, Raced a bit wide and again below novice form when beaten 7l in a handicap at Sandown last time. Effective at 8f, acts on good to firm; possibly flattered on her second start and her mark still looks high. Weak 12-1 chance when fifth of the six runners on handicap debut at Salisbury (1m2f). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (6/4 +79%)Dancing Tiger |
6/4(+79%) | (4) Dancing Tiger 6/4, Ran to form, just found out by the stiff 10f when third, beaten 9l off 70 last time. Effective at 10f, acts on heavy and good ground; in good form and this easier 10f should suit. Beat Platinum Prince at Goodwood; well-held third at Sandown but in a higher grade. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (6/1 -140%)Platinum Prince |
6/1(-140%) | (1) Platinum Prince 6/1, Ran to form when second, beaten 2l off 70 last time; off a short break. Effective from 8f to 10f, acts on good ground and goes well with some give; likes Goodwood. Irresolute but capable. Has been running well at Goodwood this season and has form at this track. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (25/1 -56%)Ciotog |
25/1(-56%) | (5) Ciotog 25/1, Below form when beaten 4 1/2l in a handicap over 8f at Chester last time; returning from a break and remains inconsistent. Multiple wins here but never over this far and lacking a recent run is probably not ideal. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

DANCING TIGER failed to supplement his Goodwood triumph when third at Sandown last month, but that was still a fair effort. Off an unchanged rating, the son of Starspangledbanner looks the one to beat. Platinum Prince finished two lengths in second behind the selection in that Goodwood contest and is now 4lb better off, so he may get closer on this occasion. Last-time-out Brighton scorer Shalfa can fight it out for the minor honours.

Back in grade after not running at all badly at Sandown, DANCING TIGER (nap) might be able to regain the winning thread.

9/1(+59%) | (5) Lunarscape 9/1, Below form with no obvious excuse when beaten 8l in a handicap at Kempton last time; suited by 8f and prefers some give in the ground; different headgear combination needs to make a difference. Hard to take too many positives from her recent runs. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (12) (8/1 -23%)Lovely Jubly |
8/1(-23%) | (12) Lovely Jubly 8/1, Improved for deep ground when causing a shock, landing a handicap by 2 1/2l off 45 here last time; wide draw; suited by 8f and acts well on heavy; same conditions as latest C&D win, respected under penalty. Penalised for recent C&D success (66-1) when heavy ground appeared to make a difference. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (10) (33/1 -106%)James Park Woods |
33/1(-106%) | (10) James Park Woods 33/1, Scored by a neck off 49 at Brighton three starts back; fair effort from off the pace last time; usually held up; suited by 8-10f and handles give in the ground; more needed off this mark. Into the veteran stage and was 33-1 when well behind Bobby Dassler here recently. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (8) (28/1 -40%)See Paris |
28/1(-40%) | (8) See Paris 28/1, Below form and never involved after a slow start when well beaten in a handicap at Southwell latest; effective at 8/9f in Germany, acts on heavy and good to soft; ground to suit but struggling for form. Both wins in Germany and hasn't been overly threatening in any of his eight British races. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (6) (28/1 -56%)Penny's Spirit |
28/1(-56%) | (6) Penny's Spirit 28/1, Ran to form on handicap debut when beaten 3 1/2l off 57 over 7f at Wolverhampton last time; wide draw; effective at 7/8f but has a bit to prove stepping up in trip on soft ground. Third on handicap debut but in early April and has changed yards during her time out. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Turned out again quickly under a 5lb penalty after a taking success over C&D last week, BOBBY DASSLER can follow up with Callum Hutchinson taking over in the saddle. Gone Rogue must enter calculations after a comfortable win at Brighton earlier in the month, along with Lovely Jubly, who got off the mark over track and trip last week. Others to note include Equion, Foreseen and Lhebayeb.

Cases can be made for a few of these. EQUION ran better last time at Nottingham, will love the ground and he's well handicapped.

5/4(+64%) | (1) Marching Mac 5/4, Improved again under a penalty when landing a handicap by a head off 79 over 5f at Leicester last time; effective at 5/6f and handles heavy and good ground; likely to go well again, with the ground in his favour. The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Having gone close on each of her last two starts over C&D, KISS AND RUN deserves a change in luck and she may get that on this occasion off a mark which is 4lb higher than her last success. Hierarchy has strong claims if bouncing back to the form of his penultimate victory at Southwell, while Bonnita looks to build on a taking success at Salisbury last month.

In another stride or two KISS AND RUN would have mastered Marching Mac here ten days ago and she's 10lb better off today.

11/1(-100%) | (1) My Genghis 11/1, Yard won this last year; ran in a void race at Windsor last time, but was back to form in first-time cheekpieces when beaten a neck off 53 over 5f at Chepstow on his previous start. Hood goes on for the first time; top course trainer; returning from a break; effective at 5f. Front-runner who was only just caught on Chepstow reappearance in June; respected up 2lb. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Now that the penny has dropped for CAMELEY DAYS after a determined success at Yarmouth last week, she can follow up under a 6lb penalty. Not beaten too far over further at Brighton most recently, Bated Breeze is capable of being in the shake-up, as well as Mister Sandman, who should be monitored for market support on his first run for connections that have been in fine form of late.

Preference is for CAMELEY DAYS, who made the breakthrough at Yarmouth last week and is a big player again under a penalty.

10th (4) (6/1 +67%)World Of Darcy |
6/1(+67%) | (4) World Of Darcy 6/1, Raced in a small group and ran below form when down the field in a handicap at Yarmouth last time. Best suited by 6f with some cut in the ground but remains badly out of form. Goes on soft and should be well handicapped but very much in the doldrums currently. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

ROMAN SPRING was beaten four lengths into second at Brighton earlier this month and goes off an unchanged rating. With Ryan Kavanagh claiming a handy 5lb, he could be the one to beat. Up The Anti produced a pair of runner-up efforts prior to her disappointing eighth at Nottingham, so she might be worth another chance. Of the remainder, Autumn Festival makes the most appeal.

With no concerns about the ground and having returned to form with a close fourth last time at Nottingham, TOMMYTWOHOOTS appeals most.

C&D winner Banana showed more when occupying the runner-up berth at Wolverhampton on her latest outing and has to be respected, despite a 2lb higher rating. However, SUB THIRTEEN had Sisters In The Sky (third) and Lahina Bay (fourth) behind when victorious by a length at this course last time and can confirm that form to complete a double. Havechatma went in at Southwell last month and also has a chance.

Plenty have possibilities but the vote goes to SUB THIRTEEN, who made it 2-5 at Bath when scoring off a reduced mark three weeks ago.
Ths is the racecard key.
