There were 32 Races on Wednesday 27th August 2025 across 5 meetings. There was 6 races at Musselburgh, 6 races at Catterick, 7 races at Bellewstown, 6 races at Hexham, 7 races at Kempton, no doubt Tomform helped you find a winner.

LIGHTKEEPER's latest runs will have to be forgiven, but he has been competing in higher grades over fences. He won a maiden hurdle at the Galway Festival last year and, like that day, a decent gallop here should stop this contest from turning into a sprint, which would be of benefit to Gordon Elliott's charge as he takes some winding up. Dollar Value is a regular performer at this sort of level and can turn last month's Roscommon form around with Ahead Of The Posse, with a 10lb swing in the weights. He needs to improve his recent form but cannot be discounted in a contest in which he finished fourth last year. Long Gone and Ahead Of The Posse can battle it out for third.

Back from chasing LIGHTKEEPER could prove the one to beat, with Long Gone a likely danger

Alex Harvey can continue his strong recent run of form on board the forward-going JACKSON LAMB. The son of El Salvador was run down late on in Downpatrick but, dropping back from 2m6f on this more forgiving track, he can manage to last home. John McConnell's charge proved his suitability to the course when runner-up behind a useful performer in a bumper here. Ellis Mor showed marked improvement on his second start for Willie Mullins when second at Tramore, although he has since changed yards again. If he can reproduce that form, he should have every chance. Twentyfourcarrot is just preferred to The Man's Room for third.

Having gone close in a stronger Downpatrick maiden last month, JACKSON LAMB (nap) looks the one to beat here back slightly in trip

A local success may be on the cards as KNOCKRAHA EAGLE holds very solid form claims thanks to his second to Mephisto, who has since completed a treble in rapid fashion. Ian Donoghue's charge only rose 2lb for that Wexford performance and should be aided by first-time blinkers. Sydney Cruiser opened her account at the 23rd time of asking and she can supplement that Sligo success with another creditable run here as she won well, although she has been hit with a 5lb rise. C&D winner Dunany Point might figure in first-time cheekpieces, while Mickey Cohen and Massabielle should be watched in the market.

This looks like a good opportunity for KNOCKRAHA EAGLE following a Wexford second behind Mephisto who has since completed a hat-trick

It might just be time for JACOVEC CAVERN to open his account over hurdles at the 14th attempt. This highly-tried six-year-old once finished eighth in a Triumph Hurdle behind Lossiemouth and was also sent off joint-favourite for last year's English Cesarewitch. A return to the form of his Cork run in March, where he fell when clear at the last off this mark, would leave him with a proper chance. Moonovercloon is an admirable performer, but he does need to rediscover the kind of form that saw him go down by a nose in the Galway Blazers 12 months ago. Timeless Treaty brings a certain amount of intrigue on his handicap debut, although his relative inexperience may count against him.

A winner over fences at Tramore, KILLINURE LASS has fair prospects of adding to her tally of four hurdle wins.
Class & Speed Card

There is little to choose between ADELA ICON and Gers Gigi on their meeting at Kilbeggan. Willie Mullins' charge tends to race quite keenly but did win a Punchestown maiden hurdle earlier this year and makes more appeal than Gers Gigi, who has struggled since over fences. Jane Eire was well beaten in that Kilbeggan race but is better judged on her form from last season, including when finishing in mid-division in the Mares' Novices' Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival. Cooke's Lass can't be lightly discounted as well.

It could pay to take a chance with the lowest-rated runner EASTERN WIND who has won twice on the Flat at this venue.

FARROKH gets the vote to add to a Tipperary success last year. The Barry Connell-trained gelding was switched to fences after that victory and placed a number of times before returning to hurdles this season. The selection's third at Kilbeggan last month has been working out well since and he again picked up minor money at Ballinrobe last time. W B Easy enters calculations on his latest outing in a similar handicap at Ballinrobe. Kaikoura has been knocking on the door, while Tubberfinn Lady and Dontgowithjoe are others to consider.

Plenty with chances but perhaps the 4yo DONTGOWITHJOE can follow up a ready Ballinrobe win off a 6lb higher mark
Class & Speed Card

The market should prove informative and perhaps GRACIE C can make a winning debut. The Emmet Mullins-trained mare is by Sholokhov and is related to a number of bumper winners, including Knock House. Malikanna and Fascinating Queen are other newcomers to keep a close eye on in the betting, while the booking of Jody Townend aboard I'm A Rocket Man looks significant.

If forgiven his lapse when favourite at Galway, I'M A ROCKET MAN has a strong claim as the form horse on his Punchestown third.
Ths is the racecard key.
