Failed to make any impact on his hurdles debut and is likely to need considerably more time before showing improvement. The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Point winner IT'S TOP took a couple of backward steps after landing a Chepstow bumper in November 2024, but he showed more sparkle when second over hurdles at Newbury latest. Although comfortably held by the smart winner, he's unlikely to face anything of a similar calibre here. Lasko Des Obeaux failed to build on a promising hurdling debut when a well-beaten third at Exeter but remains of interest, while Thorneylands appeals most of the remainder.

Three to consider with the vote going to THORNEYLANDS, who makes his hurdles debut after a fine run in a Newcastle bumper in December.

Point/maiden h'dle winner; something to find in this company even if he's back to his best. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

First Confession has yet to truly shine over fences but he does at least have the experience under his belt, which can't be said about his three rivals. However, DELLA CASA LUNGA was a useful hurdler and, on these terms, should be hard to beat if taking to her new discipline. Thank You Ma'am was no slouch over timber either and must enter calculations, but Scarlet Jet has a bit to find.

The mare DELLA CASA LUNGA was the best of these over hurdles and is taken to capitalise on her 7lb allowance on this chasing debut.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (250/1 -150%)Am I Bovvered |
250/1(-150%) | (4) Am I Bovvered 250/1, Made a poor hurdles debut when pulled up in a maiden hurdle at Ayr on her latest start. She is effective at 2m on good ground but may need more time to show her best. Well beaten in all three bumpers and pulled up at 300-1 on hurdle debut at Ayr last week. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

100/1(-100%) | (5) Bollin Skittle 100/1, Made a modest debut when well beaten in a mares' bumper here on her only start. She returns from a short break and looks in need of more time, with handicapping likely to suit her better in due course. The step up in trip could help but she was soundly beaten at 50-1 on debut in bumper here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (250/1 -150%)Strathcatcha |
250/1(-150%) | (8) Strathcatcha 250/1, Again ran to a poor level when well beaten in a bumper here on her latest start. The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Windsor scorer FUTURE BUCKS didn't appear to see out 2m6f at Uttoxeter in December, but Jamie Snowden's charge can bounce back to form at a trip that should be more suitable. Oh Clare impressed at Lingfield and doesn't have too much more to do under the penalty. Rosie Mahler receives 7lb from both and looks to be a real threat.

The attractively bred OH CLARE looks the type to keep on improving and she is taken to follow up her win at Lingfield.

1st (4) (9/4 -13%)Celestial Fashion |

Effective at 2m-2m4f, not quite staying 3m, and has winning course-and-distance form despite a higher mark. Easy wins on two of her last three starts; could still be ahead of the handicapper. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

18/1(-29%) | (6) Divas Doyen 18/1, Ran to form when beaten 2 1/4l off a 1lb lower mark at Musselburgh last time. Returning from a short break, she is effective around 2m-2m4f on a sound surface and remains on a competitive mark. 10lb out of the handicap but this C&D winner was in good form in the autumn when last seen. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (3) (7/2 +42%)Sunset Hill |
7/2(+42%) | (3) Sunset Hill 7/2, Never threatened when comfortably held in a handicap chase at Newcastle last time. Cheekpieces are applied for the first time; effective at 2m-2m4f but not certain to stay further, and as a maiden she looks up against it. Her reduced mark, drop back in trip and first-time cheekpieces could all be positives. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (5) (10/3 +83%)Similar Story |
10/3(+83%) | (5) Similar Story 10/3, Made too much use of when comfortably held in a handicap chase at Sedgefield last time. Effective at 2m4f-3m on a sound surface, but her form has been inconsistent. Good third in this last year; encouraging run last time; contender now back down in trip. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

The introduction of blinkers saw Lady In The Park travel with more verve when securing a first chase victory at Perth and there could be more to come. However, she is entitled to need this seasonal debut over a shorter distance and preference is for fellow last-time-out winner CELESTIAL FASHION. Ian Duncan's mare spreadeagled the field at Wetherby and an 8lb higher mark looks surmountable. Ilovethenightlife is also of interest dropping in class.

Last year's third SIMILAR STORY (nap) has dropped to a dangerous mark and there were positive signs at Sedgefield recently.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (11) (33/1 +34%)Spartan Warrior |
33/1(+34%) | (11) Spartan Warrior 33/1, Ran below form when finishing down the field in a handicap hurdle at Musselburgh most recently. Effective at 2m-2m3f on a sound surface and may come on for this run following a stable debut. 2m2f Kelso win for Rebecca Menzies last May; well beaten on stable debut; best watched. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (9) (28/1 -56%)Lady Babs |
28/1(-56%) | (9) Lady Babs 28/1, Got into the heat of battle too soon when beaten 5l in a handicap hurdle at Market Rasen last time. Won three over C&D on good to soft last term; fair run latest but improvement needed. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Having landed the spoils over C&D on his final outing for Micky Hammond, MEDIEVAL GOLD rates as one to keep on side. Now under the tutelage of Patrick Neville, the six-year-old scored with enough in hand to suggest that a 7lb higher mark is workable. Musselburgh winner Kientzheim and Haydock victor Haarar aren't easily dismissed, but a bigger threat may emerge from the class-dropping Smart Decision, who looks more progressive.

In what looks a strong race the progressive THAT ONE can turn the tables on Medieval Gold, who beat him here in November.

33/1(-50%) | (11) Gibberwell 33/1, Pulled up in a handicap chase at Uttoxeter last time. Effective around 3m on soft or good ground, but he is an inconsistent veteran and comes with obvious risks. Inconsistent and pulled up last time but 2nd in this last year and not ruled out each-way. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Uptown Harry rolled back the years to account for Shadow Chaser by more than eight lengths at Newcastle, although the runner-up is significantly better off at the weights and has switched from Sandy Thomson to the Mark Walford team. Thomson could still land the spoils with ROB ROY MACGREGOR, who took a step forward to chase home a lightly-raced novice at Ayr and is open to further improvement himself. Super Citizen is worth a look with Brian Hughes back on board.

The rejuvenated Uptown Harry is a very tempting option but preference is for fellow 12yo SUPER CITIZEN, who is 2-2 at Carlisle.

15/2(+17%) | (7) Success Story 15/2, 38,000 euros Success Days gelding; half-brother to Angels Halo, useful at 24f; isn't easily ruled out on debut in an open looking bumper. Dam half-sister to Irish Grand National winner; quite interesting but may need further. |

3rd (5) (7/1 -100%)Masked Blagny |
7/1(-100%) | (5) Masked Blagny 7/1, 75,000 euros Masked Marvel gelding; half-brother to a pair of hurdles winners in France; respected on debut with yard capable in these events. 75,000euros 3yo by Masked Marvel; half-brother to two Flat/hurdle winners; a possible. |

3/1(-50%) | (3) Jimmy Gatz 3/1, 30,000gns The Grey Gatsby gelding; brother to two poor performers; makes limited appeal on breeding but is one to consider still for good yard. 30,000gns yearling by The Grey Gatsby; dam a dirt winner; conditions not sure to suit. |

5th (6) (7/1 +42%)Masterfield |
7/1(+42%) | (6) Masterfield 7/1, Showed some promise when beaten 12l into fourth in a juvenile bumper at Wetherby on debut. Returns from a short break, is effective at 2m on soft, and improvement is likely. 7-1 when 12l fourth to a subsequent winner at Wetherby on debut; should improve. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (25/1 -108%)Marvel Magic |
25/1(-108%) | (4) Marvel Magic 25/1, Was too keen and made mistakes on a poor hurdles debut when comfortably held in a juvenile event at Haydock last time. That came over 2m1f on good to soft, and he has a good chance back in a bumper. Tailed off in a juvenile hurdle last time having shaped well when fourth on bumper debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) (5/2 +82%)Barracilla |
5/2(+82%) | (1) Barracilla 5/2, Jack Hobbs gelding and a fourth foal. Brother to Barrabool, a fair winner over 2m hurdles. Others make more appeal on debut. Home-bred son of Jack Hobbs; brother to a 2m hurdle winner; interesting. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Connections of MASTERFIELD will have been encouraged by his debut display at Wetherby when he only faded into fourth in the closing stages. The winner has followed up in Listed company to boost the form and the Greenall/Guerriero representative can make it second-time lucky. Marvel Magic didn't build on a decent introduction so one of the newcomers could pose the biggest challenge. Irish Goodbye and 75,000-euro purchase Masked Blagny are particularly appealing.

The tentative choice is the newcomer BARRACILLA, whose stable does well in these events. Irish Goodbye is another likely candidate.
Ths is the racecard key.
