14:15 Catterick (Class 5) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Star Start dead-heated for first at Beverley before showing tenacity under a penalty to fend off UNPLUGGED in a tight finish at Pontefract. The margin is tight but the latter is weighted to turn things around and shades the vote. Brodie Hampson rode the last two winners of this race and can again play a big part if Throne Hall is galvanised by cutting back in trip. The penalised Made All is another must for consideration.

Made All can continue his good work for Sam England but STELLARMASTERPIECE has a chance of beating him this time.

14:45 Catterick (Class 6) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

DEMETRIUS built on his three qualifying runs with an encouraging second on his handicap debut at Kempton. Sir Mark Prescott's colt could be well placed to build on that, with a 3lb rise noted as fair. The addition of cheekpieces could also draw improvement for this return to turf. Haberdash is another potential improver with headgear added and is surely better than he managed at Beverley. Mossvale Diva and White Ladder complete the shortlist.

An open nursery. There should be plenty of pace on and that would assist DEMETRIUS who got going too late at Kempton.

15:15 Catterick (Class 6) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Fancy Dancer has won three of her last five starts and should again be competitive if coping with being drawn out wide. Similar comments apply to Miss Rainbow, who is a previous course winner and has already enjoyed a successful summer with four wins since June. However, PROFITEER has dropped to a handy mark and having filled the runner-up berth on his only two previous starts at this venue, this could be a good time to catch Tim Easterby's four-year-old.

Ollie Sangster's FANCY DANCER (nap) had a nice bit in hand at Brighton and she looks to have got off lightly with just a 2lb rise.

15:45 Catterick (Class 5) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Despite the penalty, a confident vote goes to CHICO MAGNIFICA. Karl Burke's charge took a big leap forward from his debut effort to score in comfortable fashion at Hamilton and given that returning to further should suit, he is expected to find additional progress. That being said, both In The Post and Alther Walden ought to be better over middle distances so neither should be taken lightly.

Chico Magnifica sets the standard but ALTHER WALDEN has shown promise and he's receiving plenty of weight off the Burke horse.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Although arguably in better form when landing the corresponding event 12 months ago, it might still pay to side with BIRKENHEAD. Paul Midgley's gelding was far from disgraced in a higher grade at York latest and, from 1lb below last year's successful mark, a bold bid looks likely. A short head separated Betweenthesticks (winner) and Another Baar (second) at Pontefract recently but while the pair should be closely matched again, the hat-trick seeking Irish Dancer might be a bigger threat.

Last year's winner BIRKENHEAD is handicapped to go well again and that fifth at York last time was in a huge field.

16:45 Catterick (Class 6) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

With a host of in-form horses lining up, only a tentative vote goes to MIAKODA. Second at Epsom on his penultimate start, sandwiched in between wins at Chepstow and Brighton, the James Owen-trained three-year-old is on an upward trajectory and might have more to offer, despite a further 4lb rise. Returning to quicker ground was said to have benefited recent Musselburgh scorer Patontheback, who is expected to go well with conditions in his favour. Koji, a surprise winner on stable debut at Thirsk, is also noted.

This looks wide open. MIAKODA has been going great guns since fitted with his new headgear combination.

About U.K Horse Racing

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.

There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.

The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool.
