1st (2) (7/2 +13%)Gennadius |
7/2(+13%) | (2) Gennadius 7/2, Made too much use of back from a break when beaten 4l in a maiden here last time; in good form before that; effective from 6f to 8f, acts on soft, good to firm, and all-weather; should do better but trip remains a question. 0-12 but he has been placed nine times (6f-1m); didn't see things out over 6f here latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (33/1 0%)Dor's Dazzler |
33/1(0%) | (6) Dor's Dazzler 33/1, Didn't show much when beaten 10l in a maiden at Lingfield on debut; by a sprint sire and dam stayed 10f; should improve with experience. Finished ahead of Tonyfromhr on her debut at Lingfield but improvement is needed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (10/11 +0%)Variety Act |
10/11(+0%) | (5) Variety Act 10/11, Promising debut when runner-up beaten a neck in a maiden here on only start; off a short break; effective at 7f on all-weather; looks the one to beat. Hung left but ran a promising race on his debut here over 7f in November; commands respect. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (16/1 +20%)Tonyfromhr |
16/1(+20%) | (4) Tonyfromhr 16/1, Poor debut when well beaten in a maiden at Lingfield on only start; sprint-bred and stamina again a doubt. Related to AW winners but he beat only one rival home at Lingfield on debut 12 days ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

14/1(+0%) | (1) Daddy Chill 14/1, Improved when fourth beaten 2l in a maiden at Southwell last time; returning from a long layoff; effective at 8f on all-weather; a gawky individual with a high action who may need more time. Beaten only 2l when fourth of seven at Southwell last March; off since; makes yard debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (18/1 -29%)Very Demure |
18/1(-29%) | (7) Very Demure 18/1, Probably needed the run off a break when beaten 7 1/4l in a novice at Newcastle last time; likely to want 8-10f and may do better when handicapping. Ran to a similar level in two starts at Kempton and Newcastle; may be one for handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (4/1 +0%)Hengist Pod |
4/1(+0%) | (3) Hengist Pod 4/1, 32,000gns Waldgeist colt; half-brother to Valvano, useful from 10-12f; dam very useful at 12f; chance on debut for good yard. 32,000gns yearling; closely related to 11.6f turf/1m4f AW winner; dam 1m4f/12.4f winner. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

VARIETY ACT was a promising second when introduced in a similar event over 7f here last November. A half-brother to four winners, he could go one better with the step up to mile likely to draw improvement based on pedigree. The consistent Gennadius boasts an official rating of 70 and may figure prominently in this company. Hengist Pod is related to some useful performers and has to be of interest on racecourse debut.

A chance is taken on HENGIST POD on his debut. The selection has a nice pedigree and is preferred ahead of Variety Act.

15/2(+0%) | (2) Lexington Jet 15/2, Bit keen, didn't get home up in trip beaten 4l off a 2lb higher mark at Southwell last time; blinkers first time; effective 7f, best on AW; needs more. 0-12; hung right and seemed stretched by this trip at Southwell last time; blinkers go on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (25/1 -56%)My Awele |
25/1(-56%) | (3) My Awele 25/1, Showed a step back in the right direction when beaten 4l off a 2lb higher mark at Lingfield last time; effective at 5/6f on the all-weather though others appeal more. Three-time winner (5f/6f); ran respectably over this trip last time; needs to back that up. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (13/2 +13%)Union Island |
13/2(+13%) | (5) Union Island 13/2, Didn't get home when beaten 4 1/2l in a handicap at Lingfield last time; wide draw; effective at 8/9f on the all-weather and may benefit from dropping in trip. Dual AW winner but he had a couple of today's rivals ahead of him at Lingfield last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (4/1 +0%)Pitney |
4/1(+0%) | (4) Pitney 4/1, Ran to form beaten 2 1/4l off a 1lb higher mark at Lingfield last time; effective at 7-9f, acts on S, G and AW; seems to have regressed but in good form at new level. Went down by only a neck at Wolverhampton last month and ran respectably 12 days ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (11/2 +54%)Poetic Force |
11/2(+54%) | (7) Poetic Force 11/2, Too keen but finished strongly when beaten 3 1/2l off this mark at Lingfield last time; suited by 7/8f and acts on the all-weather; Brighton specialist and considered. Veteran; without a win on the AW since March 2023 but ran well when fourth at Lingfield. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (18/1 -13%)Fillyfudge |
18/1(-13%) | (8) Fillyfudge 18/1, Ran to form when beaten 4l off a 1lb higher mark at Wolverhampton last time; cheekpieces on for the first time; trainer in form; effective at 9/10f on the all-weather but needs more. Three wins on the Flat have been over 1m2f; cheekpieces replace the visor; trip a concern. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) (4/1 +27%)My Mate Mike |
4/1(+27%) | (1) My Mate Mike 4/1, Too keen when running to form, beaten 4l off a 1lb higher mark here last time; effective at 6/7f on the all-weather but inconsistent. All four wins have been over 7f; returns to this yard having been off since August. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (6) (9/4 -29%)Blue Eclipse |
9/4(-29%) | (6) Blue Eclipse 9/4, Best form since the spring beaten 2 1/4l off a 1lb higher mark at Wolverhampton last time; effective 7f, acts on AW; could have a say. Won a 7f maiden here for Alice Haynes; ran a solid race over 7f on his stable debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Blue Eclipse is unexposed at the trip and having been well supported on his debut for the James Tate yard in a similar handicap at Wolverhampton last month, the son of Oasis Dream warrants close inspection in the betting. However, PITNEY is more proven over a mile and, from 14lb below his last winning mark, Michael Attwater's gelding looks well worth another chance here. Union Island and Lexington Jet, who tries first-time blinkers, complete the shortlist.

Pitney finished ahead of a couple of these at Lingfield last time but BLUE ECLIPSE is the selection after a solid run on yard debut.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (13/8 -8%)Kondratiev Wave |
13/8(-8%) | (2) Kondratiev Wave 13/8, Too keen, below form beaten 7l in a handicap here last time; in good form prior; effective 7/8f, acts on any, likes sharp tracks; bounce back needed. Hasn't won for a while but he was running well prior to a lesser effort last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

20/1(+0%) | (6) United Force 20/1, Made no show from off the pace when down the field in a handicap at Lingfield most recently. Effective at 8f and acts on the all-weather. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (14/1 -40%)Straight Back Up |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (9/4 +25%)Kessaar Power |
9/4(+25%) | (3) Kessaar Power 9/4, Won by 2l off a 4lb lower mark here in October. Made too much use of and set it up for a closer last time, now off the same mark. Effective at 7/8f and acts on the all-weather. Return to this venue is a plus but needs to bounce back. Three of his four wins have been at this track (6f/1m); below his best at Southwell latest. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

It's been a busy period for Kondratiev Wave but a return to winning ways has been elusive for the nine-year-old. However, as a previous C&D winner on a competitive mark, he cannot be ruled out on these terms. Even so, the vote goes to KESSAAR POWER, a three-time course winner who is versatile regarding distance that has won from much higher marks in the past. Tootsie and My Boy Harry are the pick of the rest.

My Boy Harry is interesting in a switch of headgear but TOOTSIE is preferred having ran well here last time despite a wide trip.

1st (1) (11/8 +21%)Lazzar |
11/8(+21%) | (1) Lazzar 11/8, Ran to form when landing a handicap by a neck off a 2lb lower mark at Lingfield last time. Effective at 6f and ran well at 5f early in career. Acts on soft, good to firm and all-weather; mark remains workable. Chasing a hat-trick after two 6f wins at Lingfield; 2lb rise for latest looks manageable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (3/1 -20%)Invincible Melody |
3/1(-20%) | (6) Invincible Melody 3/1, Ran to form when beaten 1 1/4l off a 1lb higher mark at Southwell last time. Trained by a leading course handler. Effective at 6/7f, acts on all-weather; strong chance in this. Exposed 15-race maiden; good 2nd off 1lb higher 11 days ago (7f); each-way claims again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) (8/1 -23%)Vitalline |
8/1(-23%) | (8) Vitalline 8/1, Scored by a head off a 3lb lower mark at Kempton three starts back. Too keen but ran to form when second latest. Usually held up; effective at 6/7f and suited by all-weather; can go well again. Needs luck in running but arrives in good form; this a better race than he usually tackles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (9/1 +0%)Buraback |
9/1(+0%) | (7) Buraback 9/1, Below form when beaten 6l in a handicap at Wolverhampton last time. Best at 5f but effective at 6f and acts on all-weather. A former course-and-distance winner on a fair mark if bouncing back. Handicapped to go well but he would be more appealing at 5f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (11/1 -38%)Massimo Blue |
11/1(-38%) | (4) Massimo Blue 11/1, Scored by 1 1/4l off a 7lb lower mark at Southwell in October. Poorly placed after missing the break when ninth last time, 1lb lower here. Suited by 5/6f and best on all-weather; should remain competitive. Not at his best on last two starts and others bring more persuasive claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (11/1 +31%)Darn Hot Time |
11/1(+31%) | (5) Darn Hot Time 11/1, Didn't stay when beaten 6l in a handicap at Wolverhampton last time. Trainer in form and drawn wide. Effective at 6/7f, acts on all-weather; drop back in trip should suit. Drop back in trip looks the right move but needs to better earlier handicap runs to win. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (66/1 -65%)Stapleford Park |
66/1(-65%) | (3) Stapleford Park 66/1, Showed no form from off the pace when well beaten in a handicap at Windsor last time. Returning from a break; effective at 6/7f with give. Out of form in 2025. Achieved little in 2025, including on stable debut; plenty to prove. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (2) (8/1 +0%)Siobhanbrogan |
8/1(+0%) | (2) Siobhanbrogan 8/1, Bit below form when fourth, beaten 7 1/2l in a handicap at Wolverhampton last time. Wears a visor for the first time. Effective at 6f and acts best on all-weather; inconsistent in a short career. Dangerous mark on her best form but quiet in two runs this winter; now tried in a visor. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Lazzar has to be respected following back-to-back wins at Lingfield last month, but a 2lb rise for the latest of those victories demands more from him here. As a result, preference is for INVINCIBLE MELODY, who only found one too good over 7f at Southwell 11 days ago and he makes plenty of appeal off a 1lb lower mark on this occasion. Vitalline is the pick of the remainder.

A 2lb rise for his latest win may not prevent LAZZAR (nap) from completing a hat-trick. Invincible Melody is best of the rest.

1st (7) (10/3 -21%)Relocal |
10/3(-21%) | (7) Relocal 10/3, Ran to form tried in blinkers when beaten 2 1/4l off this mark at Newcastle last time. Effective at 12f on a sound surface; not fully exposed and could improve further. 0-7; best two efforts have been over 1m4f at Newcastle; step up in trip is a concern. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (3/1 -20%)Carlton |
3/1(-20%) | (1) Carlton 3/1, Ran to form beaten 2l off a 18lb higher mark at Fakenham last time; off a short-break; effective 12-17f on the Flat, acts on sound surface; generally consistent in both codes. Made it 6-7 at this track when winning here in September; solid claims back from a break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (9/1 +36%)Pleasant Man |
9/1(+36%) | (2) Pleasant Man 9/1, Below form when fourth, beaten 12l in a handicap at Southwell latest. Effective from 11f to 14f, suited by all-weather; his mark continues to ease. Didn't get home over 2m at Southwell last time; should be happier back down in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (3/1 +0%)Must Believe |
3/1(+0%) | (4) Must Believe 3/1, Scored by 3/4l off a 5lb lower mark at Southwell on his penultimate start and ran to form last time, 1lb higher here. Effective from 10f to 14f, acts on a sound surface and still looks fairly treated. Has won two of his last four starts; runner-up last time; trip is a slight unknown. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (9/2 +25%)Veraison |
9/2(+25%) | (6) Veraison 9/2, Scored by 1/2l off a 4lb lower mark at Wolverhampton three starts back and ran to form despite hanging and suffering late interference when third last time. Now 2lb lower, best at 10-12f on a sound surface and holds a good chance up in trip. Won at Kempton and Wolverhampton in October; posted two solid efforts since; up in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (25/1 +24%)Atlantic Sunset |
25/1(+24%) | (5) Atlantic Sunset 25/1, Again below form and well beaten in a handicap at Newcastle latest. Suited by 12f and acts on a sound surface but has lost enthusiasm and has plenty to prove. Struggled since winning at Newmarket in the summer; back in trip with plenty to prove. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (13/2 +7%)Parramount |
13/2(+7%) | (3) Parramount 13/2, Travelled well but did too much too soon and tired late, worth marking up when beaten 7 1/4l in a handicap hurdle at Ascot last time. Effective at 12-14f on the Flat but may prove vulnerable. Well held at Wolverhampton on his latest start on the Flat; switches from hurdles. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

In an open race marginal preference is for RELOCAL, who was a promising third off this mark over an extended 1m4f at Newcastle last time. Must Believe also hit the crossbar on his most recent outing, which followed a Southwell success in November, and he could prove to be the main threat. That said, Carlton and Veraison are others who arrive here with strong form claims.

Must Believe can go well but CARLTON loves it here and is selected to take his record at the track to 7-8.

6/1(-9%) | (7) Under Curfew 6/1, Too keen and outlasted when 2l third in a classified race at Lingfield last time; suited by 5/6f but stays 7f; acts on the all-weather; erratic but capable. Ran well from the front when third at Lingfield over 7f five days ago; drops back in trip. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (33/1 -32%)Tilsworth Ony Ta |
33/1(-32%) | (6) Tilsworth Ony Ta 33/1, Too keen and below form when beaten 10l in a classified race at Wolverhampton last time; effective at 5/6f and acts on the all-weather; regressive. 5-66 but without a win since July 2024; third at Bath last May but mostly struggled since. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Bishop's Glory has been running well since the turn of the year and is of considerable appeal now eased into classified company, but the vote goes to FLICKA'S GIRL. Michael Attwater's charge had been in the doldrums for a while before hinting at a revival over 6f here latest. She didn't get the clearest of runs on that occasion either so on favourable terms she can be given another chance. Under Curfew completes the shortlist.

Flicka's Girl was unfortunate not to finish closer last time but BISHOP'S GLORY went close at Newcastle and is unexposed over 5f.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Time Tested took his all-weather record to five wins from nine when defeating Melek Alreeh (second) over C&D but whilst both merit respect, it might pay to side with MONTY BEAU. Hugo Palmer's lightly-raced five-year-old got up in the closing stages to make a successful handicap bow at Wolverhampton, an effort for which he was raised 3lb. Further improvement is anticipated at this longer trip and he can go in again. Others to note include Oman and Hinchinbrooke.

Melek Alreeh was beaten a neck by TIME TESTED last time and the latter is selected to maintain his unbeaten record over C&D.
Ths is the racecard key.
