(3) (3/1 +25%)Amarachi |
3/1(+25%) | (3) Amarachi 3/1, Made too much use of and set it up for closers when comfortably held in a handicap at Southwell last time. Effective at 6-8f, just 1lb above her last winning mark and could quickly bounce back. Runner-up at Southwell on two occasions last month but she was disappointing there latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (16/5 -28%)Angelica K |
16/5(-28%) | (4) Angelica K 16/5, Needed the run when beaten 5l in a handicap at Kempton last time. Stays 12f but her best form is at 1m, looks to want a stamina test and remains erratic with plenty to prove. Doubled her tally when winning a classified at Lingfield on Tuesday; carries a 5lb penalty. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (7/2 -27%)River Wharfe |
7/2(-27%) | (1) River Wharfe 7/2, Returned to form down in class when beaten 3l off this mark at Wolverhampton last time. Effective at 7-9f, below his last winning mark, and could build on that latest effort back up in trip. Runner-up at Wolverhampton (7f) last time, shaping as if the return to 1m would suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (7/2 -17%)Al Baahy |
7/2(-17%) | (2) Al Baahy 7/2, Was a bit free early but ran to form when just holding on to win a classified race at Lingfield by 1 1/4l last time. Effective at 7-10f, looks well treated back in a handicap and could complete a hat trick. Won his last two starts in classified company at around 1m2f; drop back to 1m may not suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (11/2 +31%)Aim For The Bull |
11/2(+31%) | (6) Aim For The Bull 11/2, Ran to form when beaten 5l in a classified race at Southwell last time, with his trainer in form. Effective at 7/8f but an exposed maiden who needs more back in a handicap. 0-18; runner-up at Southwell in December but below his best last time; each-way claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (22/1 +45%)Darlo Lady |
22/1(+45%) | (7) Darlo Lady 22/1, Continued in poor form when beaten 9 1/2l in a handicap here last time. Drawn wide and returning from a short break, she is a very moderate maiden. Yet to make the frame in 12 starts and now returns from a 78-day break; others preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (33/1 +18%)Shades Of May |
33/1(+18%) | (8) Shades Of May 33/1, Was far too free up in trip and did not stay when well beaten in a handicap here latest. Effective at 6/7f but arrives out of form and remains a maiden. Late gains here over 7f in August; most recent effort over 1m2f here is worth forgiving. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (50/1 -100%)Quick Away |
50/1(-100%) | (5) Quick Away 50/1, Beaten early and finished down the field in a classified race at Wolverhampton most recently. Effective at 8/9f but is described as regressive and needs to show more. Won twice at Wolverhampton last year; below her best on her last five starts. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

AL BAAHY proved there was no fluke about his Wolverhampton success when he readily followed up at Lingfield 12 days ago. Those victories came in classified company but he seems revitalised and won't need much of a step forward to successfully revert to a handicap here. Amarachi is consistent at this sort of level and is a big danger given she is still unexposed over this trip. Aim For The Bull and River Wharfe are other alternatives to consider.

A chance is taken on SHADES OF MAY whose most recent effort is worth forgiving, with River Wharfe second choice.

(4) (5/6 +52%)Manly Fireball |
5/6(+52%) | (4) Manly Fireball 5/6, Forced wide from a poor draw but still ran to form when second, beaten 2l, in a maiden at Wolverhampton last time. Returning from a break; pedigree suggests speed and stamina, and he acts on all-weather. Fifth on his debut before being placed on the AW on his next two starts; gelded; contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (10/3 +17%)Numero Vingt |
10/3(+17%) | (5) Numero Vingt 10/3, Green early on debut but finished well when beaten 5 1/2l in a novice at Salisbury. That was a promising start and he shapes as a contender with expected improvement. Shaped encouragingly following a slow start on his debut on turf last August; gelded since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (7/2 +13%)Unionville |
7/2(+13%) | (7) Unionville 7/2, Ran at least to form off a long break and a nice weight when second, beaten a neck, in a handicap at Kempton last time. Effective at 5f and 6f and may come on a little from that return run. Posted an improved effort when beaten a neck at Kempton in a handicap on his AW/yard debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (16/1 -60%)Tainted Love |
16/1(-60%) | (1) Tainted Love 16/1, Rajasinghe gelding whose dam was smart from 6f to 7f. Drawn wide but yard can get them ready first time. Worth following in the betting. 4yo gelding; first foal; dam Group-placed 6f-1m winner (RPR 100); stablemate of Saddle Up. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (18/1 -200%)Saddle Up |
18/1(-200%) | (8) Saddle Up 18/1, 25,000gns Kessaar gelding; dam smart at 5f at 2yo and won at this venue; looks stable first string so worth a market check. Gelding; 25,000gns yearling; dam 5f winner (including AW; RPR 96); watch the betting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (40/1 -233%)Silver Splash |
40/1(-233%) | (3) Silver Splash 40/1, Mayson filly out of a dam who was useful at 7f and placed at the top level in Argentina. This looks a stiff introduction and she appears an unlikely winner on debut, with the run expected to be more educational. Mayson filly; dam won four times in Argentina including two Group 2s on dirt; watch market. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (100/1 -525%)Molly Marine |
100/1(-525%) | (2) Molly Marine 100/1, Made a fair debut when finishing in the pack, beaten 5l in a maiden at Kempton. That was a respectable opening effort and she should make normal improvement for the experience. Interesting at a price. Hooded when down the field on her debut at Kempton over 7f 15 days ago; drops down in trip. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Richard Spencer has two interesting newcomers in the shape of Saddle Up and Tainted Love and any support for either of them in the betting would be dangerous to ignore. However, the experience held by MANLY FIREBALL is an advantage at this stage and keeping the 75-rated three-year-old to maiden company could be a rewarding move. Unionville is the pick of the rest.

Manly Fireball holds good claims, but UNIONVILLE went close at Kempton and is selected to get off the mark returned to a maiden.

(4) (11/4 -47%)Dyrholaey |
11/4(-47%) | (4) Dyrholaey 11/4, Returned to form down in class when beaten 1/2l off this mark at Wolverhampton last time. Effective at 5f–6f, but not one to rely on building on that effort. Yet to win a handicap but ran well last time; might not face much competition for the lead. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (11/4 +39%)Justcallmepete |
11/4(+39%) | (3) Justcallmepete 11/4, Scored by a neck off a 2lb lower mark here three starts back. Ran to form when fifth, beaten 3l off 86 last time, and is 1lb lower now, though the handicapper may have caught up. Completed a hat-trick when landing a handicap over C&D in December; good effort last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (16/5 +4%)Aberama Gold |
16/5(+4%) | (5) Aberama Gold 16/5, Ran to form when beaten 1 1/2l off this mark here last time. Suited by 6f and a former Stewards' Cup winner who is now down to a good mark. C&D winner; isn't the force of old but he's run well on his last two outings; solid chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (6/1 +50%)Gallant |
6/1(+50%) | (2) Gallant 6/1, Built on his reappearance when beaten 5 1/4l in a handicap at Southwell last time. Effective over 7f–1m, but his current mark looks too high. Two AW wins for Andrew Balding (6f/1m); held in two starts over 7f for this yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (13/2 -86%)Coachello |
13/2(-86%) | (1) Coachello 13/2, Ran to current form when beaten 2l off this mark at Wolverhampton last time. Effective at 6f and capable off this mark, but has been unreliable for some time. Ran well in a 0-90 at Wolverhampton in December; 5lb below his last winning mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (12/1 +14%)Thurso |
12/1(+14%) | (6) Thurso 12/1, Keen and forced wide from a poor draw when beaten 7l in a handicap at Wolverhampton last time. Effective over 6f–7f and had been consistent prior to that run. Three wins last year; failed to beat a rival home last time and needs to bounce back. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Aberama Gold is as enthusiastic as ever and David O'Meara's robust nine-year-old is high on the shortlist. However, DYRHOLAEY could be the answer after a near miss off the same mark at Wolverhampton last week. Still unexposed for a five-year-old, the Archie Watson-trained gelding is highly tempting based on that evidence. Justcallmepete and Coachello are also likely to be heavily involved.

Dyrholaey may not face much competition for the lead and is second choice behind three-time C&D winner JUSTCALLMEPETE.

(1) (11/10 +60%)Tryfan |
11/10(+60%) | (1) Tryfan 11/10, Helped set it up for closers down the field when contesting a handicap at Newcastle last time. Had been in good form prior to that effort and remains effective over 12-16f. More is required from this mark. 5lb above his last winning mark; disappointing run latest but could bounce back. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (3/1 -20%)Carlton |
3/1(-20%) | (3) Carlton 3/1, Ran to form back from hurdling when beaten a short-head off a 3lb lower mark over this course last time possibly outstayed over 2m. Generally consistent in both codes and should go close back down in distance. 6-8 at this track; went down narrowly here over a bit shorter last time; now 3lb higher. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (5/1 -50%)Machete |
5/1(-50%) | (2) Machete 5/1, Scored by 1/2l off a 2lb lower mark at Newcastle in December. Met trouble when closing but ran to form when fourth, beaten 4l, off 84 last time and competes from the same mark here. Big player if stamina holds up. Posted a solid effort over 1m4f latest despite not getting the best of runs; up in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (12/1 -118%)Crackalackin |
12/1(-118%) | (6) Crackalackin 12/1, Scored by 1 1/2l off a 4lb lower mark at Lingfield on his penultimate start. Had every chance but ran below form when fourth, beaten 7l, last time and competes from the same mark. Off the mark in a lower grade at Lingfield (1m4f) in November; step up in trip a concern. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (16/1 -14%)Ludo's Landing |
16/1(-14%) | (5) Ludo's Landing 16/1, Never threatened in a race dominated from the front when beaten 7 1/4l in a handicap at Kempton last time. Effective over 10-12f but has been inconsistent since returning to action. 1-19 on the AW; below his best at Kempton last time and now steps up in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (16/1 -78%)Vice President |
16/1(-78%) | (4) Vice President 16/1, Poorly placed in a race dominated from the front when beaten 3 1/4l off a 1lb higher mark at Lingfield last time. Effective over 10-16f, though his optimum trip remains uncertain. Shaped as if he would have benefited from a stronger gallop over 2m at Lingfield latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (40/1 -82%)Haaland |
40/1(-82%) | (7) Haaland 40/1, Needed the run when beaten 8l in a handicap at Lingfield last time. Effective up to 16f on the all-weather and now finds himself on a workable mark, though recent form has been modest. Three AW wins in 2023 (1m2f-2m); failed to beat a rival home following an absence latest. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Ludo's Landing could only manage fifth in this grade at Kempton last month, but is of interest tackling this trip for the first time. Machete remains on a workable mark and is noted, but CARLTON might be the one. Just touched off over an extended 1m5f at this venue on his latest outing, James Owen's gelding looks well placed to gain a seventh course success.

Tryfan needs to bounce back from a lesser run but is second choice behind course specialist CARLTON (nap) who went close last time.

(9) (4/6 +70%)Zambezi River |
4/6(+70%) | (9) Zambezi River 4/6, Caught too far off a slow pace on debut when beaten 4l in a maiden at Kempton. Trainer is in form, and although drawn wide, this strong sort looks sure to improve. Shaped with promise when sixth on his debut at Kempton last month; improvement likely. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (4/1 -113%)Stay Salty |
4/1(-113%) | (6) Stay Salty 4/1, Decent effort on debut when 6 1/2l fourth in a good maiden at Kempton first time out. Shapes as though he stays a mile and should improve with that experience behind him. Looks the one to beat on form. Showed plenty when fourth behind a smart prospect over 1m at Kempton on his debut; chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (6/1 -20%)Tamashal |
6/1(-20%) | (7) Tamashal 6/1, 40,000 euros Phoenix Of Spain colt; half-brother to Westridge, smart at 10f; dam very useful at 11f; yard can get first time out winners so worth following in the betting. 40,000euros foal; half-brother to three winners including Walking Painting (RPR 109). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (9/1 +36%)Master Of Keraunos |
9/1(+36%) | (3) Master Of Keraunos 9/1, 80,000 euros breeze-up purchase by Night Of Thunder; half-brother to Munsif, very useful at 12f; dam fair at 8f at 2yo; stable can get them ready first time so of interest. Gelding; half-brother to winners Munsif (1m2f/1m4f) and Mubhijah (7f); interesting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (14/1 -27%)Grey Force |
14/1(-27%) | (2) Grey Force 14/1, Probably made too much use of when beaten 8 1/4l in a maiden at Southwell last time. Sprint-bred and handles all-weather conditions, but has a bit to prove after that disappointing effort. Sent off favourite but had a wide trip when seventh at Southwell (6f) on his second start. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (25/1 -56%)Sergeant Chaos |
25/1(-56%) | (5) Sergeant Chaos 25/1, Poor run up in trip when finishing down the field in a maiden at Yarmouth most recent. Tongue-tie is fitted first time, and he returns from a break having shown only modest ability so far. Struggled in four starts last year; has undergone wind/gelding operations since last seen. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (33/1 -175%)Quick Quasar |
33/1(-175%) | (4) Quick Quasar 33/1, Awkward start and green under pressure when well beaten in a maiden at Kempton latest. Drawn wide and bred for about 7f, but his temperament is starting to become a concern. Beaten around 10l in two starts over 7f; may be one for handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(10) (33/1 +18%)Lady Of Clover |
33/1(+18%) | (10) Lady Of Clover 33/1, Green and never threatened on her only start when well beaten in a maiden at Leicester. Hood is applied first time, but she returns from a break and is difficult to fancy. Always behind on her debut at Leicester in September; has since left Ollie Sangster. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (80/1 -220%)Claytons Kolatonic |
80/1(-220%) | (1) Claytons Kolatonic 80/1, Tasleet gelding whose dam was moderate over 6f at two years old. This represents a starting point, but the pedigree suggests speed rather than stamina and he may need time to show his best. Gelding by Tasleet; first foal; dam unplaced 6f-1m (RPR 44); best watched on his debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (200/1 -100%)Warm Waters |
200/1(-100%) | (8) Warm Waters 200/1, Tired badly after being made a lot of use of when well beaten in a maiden at Kempton on his only start. Speedily bred and may do better given shorter trips than on debut. 125-1 when beating only one rival home at Kempton on his debut; others preferred.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Stay Salty arguably brings the best form to the table after his debut fourth over a mile here, but a chance can be taken on newcomer TAMASHAL. The son of Phoenix Of Spain changed hands for 40,000 euros and is a half-brother to three winners, including Westridge. He is likely to improve as he steps up in trip but this looks a good starting point. Zambezi River completes the shortlist.

Zambezi River (second choice) shaped with promise when sixth on his debut but STAY SALTY is selected to get off the mark.

(4) (1/1 +43%)Crimson Rambler |
1/1(+43%) | (4) Crimson Rambler 1/1, Blinkers were tried and, despite being off a break, a longer trip suited when beaten a neck off this mark at Wolverhampton last time. Suited by 7f and may get further. Big gelding and the headgear appeared to help a lot last time so could go a place better. Blinkered and much improved when runner-up at Wolverhampton on his h'cap debut; big shout. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (11/8 +50%)Crown The Future |
11/8(+50%) | (1) Crown The Future 11/8, Scored by 1/4l off a 4lb lower mark at Wolverhampton three starts back. Took a wide trip when fourth beaten 3l off 57 last time and is 2lb lower here. Cheekpieces are tried for the first time; effective at 7f but possibly not 1m. Mark looks about right. Good fourth at Wolverhampton last month; cheekpieces go on now and firmly in the picture. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (9/1 -64%)Oh So Perfect |
9/1(-64%) | (6) Oh So Perfect 9/1, Made late headway, perhaps having been caught too far back, when fourth beaten 7l in a handicap at Wolverhampton latest. Suited by 6f and best form comes when racing near the front. On a fair mark and could return to form. Met trouble when third at Wolverhampton 16 days ago; eased 2lb so must enter calculations. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (14/1 -155%)Savvi Row |
14/1(-155%) | (5) Savvi Row 14/1, Ran to his usual moderate level when well beaten in a novice at Lingfield latest. Trainer is in form. Stays 7f and may want further, but overall profile looks limited. Has cut little ice in his three runs to date; goes into handicaps with plenty to find. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (33/1 -83%)Mon Petit Frere |
33/1(-83%) | (7) Mon Petit Frere 33/1, Produced a similar poor level to his previous handicap run when beaten 8 1/4l in a Wolverhampton handicap last time. Tongue-tie suggests a breathing issue and he has yet to show much ability. Yet to make the frame in his five starts; others appeal more. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

CRIMSON RAMBLER displayed marked improvement on his handicap debut at Wolverhampton and, providing he copes with the quick turnaround, he looks to have a race of this nature well within his compass judged on that close-up second. Oh So Perfect would be no surprise winner and Crown The Future should also be thereabouts judged on recent performances at Wolverhampton in particular.

This can go to CRIMSON RAMBLER who improved when second on his handicap debut at Wolverhampton and can race off the same mark here.

Effective at 7/8f, on a long losing run but well treated if building on that revival. Got right back on track with Lingfield second latest; weighted to go close off same mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (11/4 +21%)Panelli |
11/4(+21%) | (7) Panelli 11/4, Ran to form when beaten a length off this mark at Kempton last time. From a top course trainer and effective from 5-8f on the all-weather, he arrives in decent form and should remain compeitive. In good form for current yard, second at Kempton 22 days ago; can make his presence felt. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (5/1 +0%)Captain Parma |
5/1(+0%) | (4) Captain Parma 5/1, Ran to form in first-time cheekpieces when beaten 2 1/2l off this mark at Lingfield last time. Effective at 7f on the all-weather and arrives in form, so is respected. Good second (in first-time cheekpieces) at Lingfield 29 days ago; a likely player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (13/2 +41%)How Impressive |
13/2(+41%) | (2) How Impressive 13/2, Pulled up in a handicap at Southwell on his latest start. Effective at 7f on the all-weather, but a bounce back is required after that disappointing run. C&D scorer but pulled up (bit his tongue) at Southwell 13 days ago; not one to rely on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (8/1 +11%)Billy Mill |
8/1(+11%) | (6) Billy Mill 8/1, Scored by a length off a 3lb lower mark at Kempton two starts ago, then was well held when eighth beaten 25l off 73 last time. Now 2lb lower; trainer in form, but unreliable these days. Scored at Kempton in January but last of eight there 22 days ago; others are preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (14/1 -87%)Lequinto |
14/1(-87%) | (3) Lequinto 14/1, Too much to do having met trouble at a key stage and unlucky when beaten a head off a 1lb lower mark at Lingfield last time. Effective at 5/6f, though inconsistent recently and needs to build on that effort with stamina to prove. Good second at Lingfield latest; effective at this trip so very much one to consider. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (22/1 -83%)Kit Gabriel |
22/1(-83%) | (8) Kit Gabriel 22/1, Ran to form when beaten 2 1/4l off a 1lb higher mark at Lingfield last time. Tongue-tie is applied for the first time, but a wide draw and inconsistency remain concerns. Solid fourth in 7f Lingfield handicap last time; shortlisted in a first-time tongue-tie. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (22/1 -38%)Law Of Design |
22/1(-38%) | (1) Law Of Design 22/1, Met trouble but did not find much after when beaten 5l in a handicap at Southwell last time. Drawn wide here; effective at 6/7f, though remains unproven on the all-weather. Yet to fire for his new yard but he was a fair 7f winner at his best so possibilities. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(10) (50/1 -52%)Riot |
50/1(-52%) | (10) Riot 50/1, Unsuited by the way the race developed off a steady pace when beaten 9l in a handicap at Kempton last time. Effective at 7f on the all-weather, but has lost form of late despite dropping in the weights. Needs pace collapse but not ruled out if getting it. Yet to offer much for his current yard; much more required from this three-time C&D winner. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

SIGNCASTLE CITY was beaten just half a length into second at Lingfield last Saturday and a repeat of that performance will make him hard to beat in this handicap finale. It won't be long before Captain Parma gets back in the winning groove at this level and he's noted along with Chola Empire, who brings winning C&D form to the table.

Richard Hannon's SIGNCASTLE CITY signalled he is ready to end a long losing run when a resurgent second at Lingfield and gets the vote
