17:00 Chelmsford City (Class 5) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

FELIX GEM showed the benefit of his debut with a close second over an extended 1m1f at Wolverhampton last month. Another step forward can see him get off the mark at the third time of asking. Tamashal caught the eye on his debut here earlier in the month and is entitled to be wiser, while Blue Celestial, who posted her best effort yet at Kempton last time, reverts to a mile with the potential to kick on.

Felix Gem sets the standard but both Tamashal and IRISH INCENTIVE are open to considerable improvement.

17:30 Chelmsford City (Class 4) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

This represents a drop in class for CRISTO, which may be enough for the 83-rated gelding to blow this seller apart if he is anywhere near his best. A tongue-tie and visor combination was instrumental in Zoffandia returning to winning ways at Kempton last week and he should be another key player if the retained headgear has the same impact. Hitched and Good Banter are still dangerous to rule out, despite their best all-weather form being posted elsewhere.

Cristo should appreciate the drop in class and can go well but ZOFFANDIA won easily at Kempton on last week's return to action.

18:00 Chelmsford City (Class 5) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

THECOFFEEPODDOTCO is hard to oppose after a comfortable win over 5f at Lingfield last time and he can brush aside a manageable 4lb rise. Cressida Wildes caries a 5lb penalty for her Wolverhampton success and also should be capable of another bold showing in this company. General Assembly doesn't have much to find to be on the premises, while Fiorella Princess tends to go well here and merits a betting check.

Thecoffeepoddotco is improving but she was beaten by MIDDLETON VIEW over C&D in December and that rival may have her measure again.

18:30 Chelmsford City (Class 6) 15f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

SMOKEY MALONE arrives here on the back of two victories at Southwell in recent weeks and a 3lb rise for the latest of those wins may not be enough to stop him from making it a hat-trick. That said, the recent C&D second Apache Eagle is an obvious threat following that performance, while Bloodhound and The Craftymaster are others who merit places on the shortlist.

Marginal preference is for the likeable C&D scorer SMOKEY MALONE, who is taken to defy another 3lb weights rise and gain his hat-trick

19:00 Chelmsford City (Class 6) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Poetic Jack is better judged on his penultimate second over C&D and a repeat of that display would see him enter the reckoning. However, the vote goes to FLICKA'S GIRL. The latter won at this level over 5f here in January and has not been disgraced in two handicaps since. On that evidence, the four-year-old could take plenty of stopping. Little Miss Magic is the pick of the remainder.

This looks a good opportunity for FLICKA'S GIRL (nap) to bag a second win here having been slowly away when third at Lingfield last time

20:00 Chelmsford City (Class 6) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Kaaress recorded a victory in classified company last time out and although the five-year-old doesn't have much more to do back in a handicap, preference is afforded to SILKIES SIB. The son of Cotai Glory has been a model of consistency since claiming gold at Wolverhampton on Boxing Day and further success looks sure to come sooner rather than later. Others to consider include Night Bear and Prince Hector.

A case can be made for most of these but SILKIES SIB continues in excellent form for James Owen and gets the vote.
