The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

MEADRAM travelled strongly when scoring by a length over track and trip on his most recent start and is just 3lb higher now. Marcus Tregoning's seven-year-old remains feasibly treated off a mark of 65 and looks the way to go. Crafter has taken the silver medal home on two of his last three outings and should remain competitive, while Egoiste isn't out of it either.

Crafter will pose a threat if this track suits but MEADRAM is turning into a course specialist and can land a third C&D success.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

GRAND DUCHESS OLGA was always doing enough when going in by a neck over 1m6f at Wolverhampton last month and the assessor may have been kind to only put her up 2lb. With a previous C&D victory to her name, she could prove hard to beat once again. Sullivan Bay made the frame at this venue when last seen on the Flat and has since undergone a wind operation, so he is one to watch out for. Stretch is next best.

Star Legend ran well over hurdles on Tuesday but the best option may be GRAND DUCHESS OLGA to follow up her Wolverhampton win.

PARTICIPLE just failed by the smallest of margins when second on her debut at Salisbury last August and the daughter of Frankel may be the one to beat on that evidence. True Colors has made the frame on both of her starts, most recently at Wolverhampton, and she needs to be taken seriously. Stellenbosch sets the standard with a rating of 78 and is another to note.

Clear preference is for PARTICIPLE who ran so well on her Salisbury debut as a 2yo and looks sure to fare better with time.

The form of EXPLODE's debut third has worked out well and the son of Sottsass can put that experience to good use and go in at the second time of asking. Although hooded on his racecourse bow, Antipodes warrants a market check for the in-form Roger Varian stable, while the Kingman colt Mudbir, who has been off since finishing second at Newmarket on his debut in October, is another to consider.

The standout contenders are EXPLODE and Mudbir, both of whom shaped with considerable promise on their debuts.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

COMPETIZIONE showed major improvement from first to second start when runner-up at Doncaster last time out, and stepping up to a mile can see him get off the mark for in-form connections. Gelded since his last run, Shimmering Spin has strong claims on his second over C&D two starts ago, while River King has shown up well on both starts this season at Nottingham and Doncaster.

Not a lot of depth here and it looks a good opportunity for COMPETIZIONE to build on his improved Doncaster effort and break his duck.

7th (7) (100/1 -456%)Zola Power |
100/1(-456%) | (7) Zola Power 100/1, Seemed to be on stiff mark well beaten in a handicap at Nottingham latest; generally out of form; lot to find Yet to beat a rival in three runs for new stable; too much to prove for now. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Narrowly denied at Wolverhampton last time out, SMOOTH SILESIE has been found an ideal opportunity to regain the winning thread, with Rossa Ryan taking over in the saddle. Dark Side Prince landed this contest last year off 7lb higher, and he must enter calculations once again. Twilight Madness is another with strong claims based on the pick of his form, while Colors Of Freedom completes the shortlist.

Twilight Madness is building up to something bigger but SMOOTH SILESIE (nap) made good progress in 2024 and gets the vote.

14/1(-133%) | (9) Forever Noah 14/1, Probably needed race beaten 4l off 61 at Brighton last time; trainer in form; not proven trip; risky Hasn't been progressing and the drop back to 6f failed to spark improvement on his return. |

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

A course-and-distance winner off the same mark in February, TEMPLE BRUER could be ideally berthed in stall four to have the race unfold to suit his style of running. The in-form Combustion and Yoshimi are prime candidates to be on the front end to set things up nicely, while Thomas Equinas is another speedy type that can cause the selection problems. Forever Noah and Safari Dream are others to note.

Safari Dream is unpenalised for Salisbury and Oisin Murphy takes over but COMBUSTION may still be progressing and can win again.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Dropping back down in trip from an extended mile to 7f was instrumental in Bizarre Law winning at Wolverhampton 10 days ago and he commands respect under a 5lb penalty. However, KRANJCAR's form figures since returning from wind surgery are more inspiring and the George Boughey-trained four-year-old shades preference based on his proven reliability. Due Date and Heerathetrack are others to consider.

Proven on Polytrack, and the manner of his win at Wolverhampton last time suggests that BIZARRE LAW can successfully defy a penalty.
Ths is the racecard key.
