JESSE LUC arrives looking for a hat-trick and, with a record of three wins from four starts over course and distance, he may take the step up in class in his stride. Crimson Sand was third in a higher grade at Lingfield in April and could also go close on his first start after wind surgery. The recent Newmarket second Fiscal Policy is another with valid form claims.

Possible winners galore but MUSICAL TOUCH can regain the winning thread back at 6f. Crimson Sand heads the long list of dangers.

The recent Newmarket sixth Athena's Fortune is an interesting contender with the benefit of that experience. She can go well, but it may be worth taking a chance on the unraced CATWALK CHAT, a daughter of Expert Eye who is in the care of James Owen and looks the part on pedigree. Our Cody was a beaten favourite at Chepstow and is another to consider.

There are some interesting newcomers. CAITRINHO has to deal with a wide draw but it was an encouraging start he made at Newmarket.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

CARLTON has a good record at Chelmsford with five starts yielding five victories, with four of those wins coming over this trip. He does need a career best off his new mark upped in class, but still appears to have every chance. Kitty Furnival has to be of interest despite top-weight after her second at Lingfield, leaving Almudena as an interesting alternative after five top-three finishes in a row to end last year.

This can go to KITTY FURNIVAL (nap), who ran a big race in defeat behind a next-time-out winner on her seasonal debut.

The recent winners Nogo's Dream and Spring Is Sprung like to race prominently and should ensure a fast pace. However, that could set the race up nicely for AGOSTINO. Robert Cowell's sprinter has recorded all four of his victories so far at this venue, including his latest success when giving the strong impression there was more to come. He's taken to defy a 5lb rise.

Agostino looked in fine fettle here recently but DIAMOND DREAMER also impressed in his sole C&D start in March and is preferred.

There was only a neck to separate Ciara Pearl (first) and BOWERCHALKE (second) when they met at Nottingham recently, and the latter is taken to overturn the form having challenged from a difficult position towards the rear on that occasion. The unexposed Likealot drops in class after a disappointing effort in Listed company at Newbury, while She's A Warrior has the potential to improve.

Her run in a Listed race last month didn't go to plan but LIKEALOT was an impressive C&D winner on her debut and still has potential.

WHERE'S FREDDY has been in consistent form of late on the all-weather and this appeals as an ideal opportunity following a strong runner-up effort over C&D last time out. Raised 5lb for a comfortable success at Lingfield last month, Urban Sprawl must enter calculations, along with Be Frank, Mr Mistoffelees and Mr Swivell. The latter won readily at Yarmouth last time out.

The 5yo MR MISTOFFELEES is becoming frustrating but he goes in headgear this time and he'll appreciate a good gallop to chase.
Ths is the racecard key.
