|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (18/1 +73%)Meritocratic |
18/1(+73%) | (4) Meritocratic 18/1, Poor debut, outpaced and well beaten in a novice over 8f at Salisbury on only start; has a wide draw and returns from a short break; should be effective at 8f and may do better once handicapped. 100-1 and well beaten on last month's Salisbury debut (1m); not easily recommended. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (9/1 +64%)Hamish Leek |
9/1(+64%) | (2) Hamish Leek 9/1, Green early, finished ok once the penny dropped when beaten 8l in a maiden at Kempton on debut; effective at 7f and should improve a little for that initial experience. 40-1 when beating just one home on debut five weeks ago; highly likely needs more time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

50/1(+0%) | (13) Ibiza Lights 50/1, Outpaced and poor debut when well beaten in a novice over 8f at Kempton on only start; bred to be suited by around 1m and has a lot to prove. Too green to do herself justice on debut at Kempton four weeks ago (beat just one home). |

80/1(0%) | (8) King's Courtier 80/1, Yet to show any real signs of ability; has a wide draw and remains without form of note. Well beaten both starts (gelded in between); should get a handicap mark after this. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (5) (15/2 -200%)Dovecote |
15/2(-200%) | (5) Dovecote 15/2, 9 Mar; Time Test colt; half-brother to Bullace, very smart at 8f; dam smart at 7f; wide draw; likely to go well. Represents a top yard and makes plenty of appeal despite widest draw. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Variety Act changed hands for 32,000 euros as a yearling and this looks a good starting point for the son of Lope De Vega, so he needs to be monitored in the betting market. However, DOVECOTE makes more appeal as a half-brother to Listed scorer Bullace and he goes for the in-form Ralph Beckett stable. Providing the son of Time Test can navigate his tough draw in stall 15, he looks the way to go. Afraj is another to keep an eye on.

Brian Meehan's CHIEF RED WING is selected to take another step forward. His most recent effort has received several form boosts.

1st (2) (9/4 +10%)Elan D'or |
9/4(+10%) | (2) Elan D'or 9/4, Ran to form, possibly challenged a bit early when beaten a head off 72 at Kempton last time; effective over 6-7f; in fine form and his penultimate effort was franked at Listed level. Form pick on last two efforts; major claims despite 2lb rise. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (9/2 +36%)Sovereign Wealth |
9/2(+36%) | (1) Sovereign Wealth 9/2, Disappointing up in trip on handicap debut when comfortably held in a nursery over 10f at Nottingham last time; blinkers on for the first time; effective at 7f and may have reached his level. Enough to prove sporting a couple of aids on AW debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (11/2 -57%)Luminare |
11/2(-57%) | (4) Luminare 11/2, Outpaced and below form but did see out the longer trip when beaten 5l in a nursery over 6f at Windsor last time; returning from a break; effective over 5-6f; has shaped as if 7f would suit but needs more back from the break. May be best watched, having disappointed on stable/nursery debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) (22/1 -83%)Miss Starlet |
22/1(-83%) | (8) Miss Starlet 22/1, Ran to form when 2l third in a maiden over 6f at Southwell on latest run; effective over 6-7f; improving and should be competitive off a fair opening mark. Returning to further for nursery debut looks a smart move. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (17/2 +6%)Pretty Danielle |
17/2(+6%) | (5) Pretty Danielle 17/2, Bit below form on handicap debut when fourth beaten 8 1/4l in a nursery at Ayr latest; off a short break; effective at 7f and probably enjoys 1m; in fair form but needs a bit more to get off the mark. 16/1(-146%) | (6) Chhota Saab 16/1, Ran to form when second beaten 4 1/4l in a maiden over 6f at Southwell last time; trainer in form; wide draw; effective at 6f and improving in maidens; bred to appreciate this longer trip on handicap debut. Some progress in qualifying runs; should stay 7f and be highly competitive. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (50/1 -257%)Ar Diddy Dum Dum |
50/1(-257%) | (7) Ar Diddy Dum Dum 50/1, Taken on up front and did too much too soon when finishing down the field in a maiden over 9f at Wolverhampton most recently; in good form prior; effective at 6-7f; likely vulnerable off this mark. Can't consider on what we saw last time but was good the time before; new yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (3) (12/1 -118%)Seeway |
12/1(-118%) | (3) Seeway 12/1, Ran to form when 5l third in a novice at Newmarket on latest run; should stay at least 1m; consistent in maidens and could be competitive. Breakthrough win likely to come over 1m rather than this trip of 7f. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Elan D'or has found one too good in each of his last two outings, most recently over this trip at Kempton, and he holds an obvious chance. Luminare might be worth another chance after failing to justify favouritism at Windsor, but SEEWAY gets the vote. The son of Galiway showed more when third at Newmarket last month and an opening mark of 74 looks workable. With Toby Moore claiming a handy 7lb, he might the one to side with.

This looks a good opportunity for ELAN D'OR to open his account. He bumped into one then lost out by a narrow margin.

1st (6) (15/2 -67%)Stellenbosch |
15/2(-67%) | (6) Stellenbosch 15/2, Ran to form when beaten 2 1/2l off 77 here last time; effective from 7f to 8f and acts on AW; in form but needs a bit more from this mark. Not entirely ruled out if left alone in front this time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (3/1 +63%)Gaiety Musical |
3/1(+63%) | (4) Gaiety Musical 3/1, Helped set it up for the closer when beaten 4l in a handicap here last time; effective over 7f to 8f and acts on AW; looks high enough in the weights. Back on last winning mark but fellow front-runner Stellenbosch reopposes. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (3/1 +67%)Mostar Dreams |
3/1(+67%) | (1) Mostar Dreams 3/1, Had no obvious excuse when finishing down the field in a Doncaster handicap last time; effective from 5f to 7f and acts on any surface; current mark looks stiff. Well beaten on stable debut; switches to AW with something to prove. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (7/2 -40%)Bintjan |
7/2(-40%) | (3) Bintjan 7/2, Quickened clear to win a Wolverhampton handicap by 3 1/4l off 71 last time; suited by 7f and acts on a sound surface; revised mark demands more. Clear PB when scoring by over 3l last time; 8lb higher but this 3yo could find extra. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (14/1 -320%)Vixey |
14/1(-320%) | (2) Vixey 14/1, Won by a neck off 72 at Chester three starts ago and ran to form when third, beaten 3l off 80, last time; suited by 7f and acts on any surface except perhaps soft; in good form with more to offer. Sound claims if taking to Polytrack/this venue. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (9/2 -13%)Quandary |
9/2(-13%) | (5) Quandary 9/2, Returned to form when beaten 2 1/4l off 77 over 6f at Southwell last time; effective from 6f to 7f on AW; may need to drop a few pounds to strike. Poised for win number three; could come here if taking to the track. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (18/1 -29%)Handle With Care |
18/1(-29%) | (7) Handle With Care 18/1, Outpaced and below form when beaten 4l in a 6f handicap at Leicester last time; in good form prior; trainer going well; returning from a break; effective from 6f to 7f on AW; consistent and on a fair mark. Far from the form pick but returning to 7f could help massively. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

BINTJAN readily took care of her nearest rival by just over three lengths at Wolverhampton last month and was hit with a 8lb rise. Considering the manner of that success, the daughter of Kodiac might be up to the task. Vixey is a reliable performer and finished a creditable third at Newmarket last time, so she is one to watch out for. Stellenbosch is another to consider.

Ed Bethell's QUANDARY (nap) looks worth siding with. A pleasing return at Southwell 23 days ago should have teed her up nicely for this.

1st (1) (7/4 +61%)Windsor Pass |
7/4(+61%) | (1) Windsor Pass 7/4, Every chance but found little when beaten 2 1/2l off 56 at Newcastle last time; wide draw. Consistent at 7/8f and acts on a sound surface; capable off this mark though not a frequent winner. 1lb lower than when beating Mashaan by nearly a length over C&D in January; major player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (5/1 -50%)Nebula Stars |
5/1(-50%) | (7) Nebula Stars 5/1, Promising effort on stable debut when beaten 2 1/2l off 48 over 8f at Lingfield last time; effective at 8-9f and acts on all-weather. Fairly treated on Hong Kong form and could progress. Pleasing stable/British debut but doubt dropping back to 7f is what he wants. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (9/2 +40%)Jackson Street |
9/2(+40%) | (2) Jackson Street 9/2, Had too much to do when beaten 4l off 56 at Lingfield last time; effective at 6-7f and acts on a sound surface. In moderate form recently, with others preferred. Capable but lack of pace could mean this doesn't suit his closing style. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (6/1 +25%)Mashaan |
6/1(+25%) | (3) Mashaan 6/1, Went too freely early and found little when beaten 8 1/4l in a handicap at Wolverhampton last time. Suited by 7f and acts on a sound surface; needs to rebound after a couple of below-par runs. Might be able to dictate but hasn't fired the last twice. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) (25/1 -56%)Ya Rayah |
25/1(-56%) | (8) Ya Rayah 25/1, Far too free in first-time blinkers and found nothing when beaten 8l in a handicap over 8f at Lingfield last time; wide draw. Prefers 8f and acts on all-weather; out of form and difficult to support. Failed to beat a rival the last twice, most recently in first-time blinkers (retained). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (20/1 -135%)Little Miss Magic |
20/1(-135%) | (5) Little Miss Magic 20/1, Never competitive after missing the break when beaten 5l in a handicap over 6f at Lingfield last time. Suited by 6f and acts on all-weather; out of form at present. Doesn't look as good on AW and this is a belated first crack at 7f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) (40/1 -100%)Darlo Lady |
40/1(-100%) | (9) Darlo Lady 40/1, Never threatened when beaten 9 1/4l in a handicap over 9f at Wolverhampton last time; effective at 7/8f and acts on all-weather. Very modest performer. Yet to make the frame and another struggle looks likely. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (4) (12/1 -85%)Love You More |
12/1(-85%) | (4) Love You More 12/1, Ran to form when beaten 4 1/2l in a handicap over 8f at Lingfield last time; effective at 7f and acts on all-weather. Mark is easing but overall form remains moderate. 0-8 and dropping back to 7f is probably a negative. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (10) (17/2 -89%)Petersburg |
17/2(-89%) | (10) Petersburg 17/2, Had too much to do after missing the break and was well beaten in a novice over 5f at Southwell latest. Usually held up and returns from a short break; showed little in Irish sprints and needs much more for new yard. Switching to a low-grade handicap and moving up in trip will surely help. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (6) (22/1 +21%)Once Adaay |
22/1(+21%) | (6) Once Adaay 22/1, Found little when beaten 7 1/4l in a handicap over 9f at Wolverhampton last time; wide draw. Effective at 7-8f and acts on all-weather; currently out of form. Arrives here well out of form and goes without headgear for the first time in ages. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Nebula Stars arguably brings the best most recent form to the table after his third at Lingfield earlier this month, but a chance can be taken on PETERSBURG. James Owen's charge hasn't shown a great deal in three outings in maiden/novice company but is likely to prove a different proposition on his handicap bow. This represents just his second appearance for the stable and he could improve for this step up in distance. Windsor Pass looks best of the rest.

This is much easier than WINDSOR PASS is used to and she may be able to add to her C&D win from January.

11/4(+50%) | (5) Tam Lin 11/4, Returned to form when beaten 2 1/2l off a mark of 54 over 8f at Southwell last time. Effective over 7-8f and acts on all-weather; hinted at a revival and fairly treated if building on that effort. Mixed reviews of last-time-out third (fair form but carried his head a bit awkwardly). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (10/1 +38%)Impulse Buy |
10/1(+38%) | (2) Impulse Buy 10/1, Up in trip and may not have stayed when beaten 6l in a handicap over 8f at Kempton last time. Drawn wide; effective at 6f, acts on all-weather, and the mark is falling though stamina remains a question. Returning to 7f should help but his form in handicaps doesn't stack up with some of these. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (9/4 -29%)Mister Sandman |
9/4(-29%) | (3) Mister Sandman 9/4, Ran to form when beaten 2l off a mark of 54 over 6f at Bath last time. Suited by 6f and acts on all-weather; a fair mark and generally consistent performer. Big eyecatcher on stable debut 27 days ago; hard to beat if breaking better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (4/1 +71%)Aim For The Bull |
4/1(+71%) | (7) Aim For The Bull 4/1, Forced wide from a poor draw when down the field in a handicap over 8f at Lingfield last time. Effective over 7-8f and acts on all-weather; disappointing on his last two outings. Out of sorts in bid to make it 16th time lucky. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (10) (80/1 0%)Mishy's Star |
80/1(0%) | (10) Mishy's Star 80/1, Needed the run on handicap debut when down the field in a 6f handicap here most recently. Returns from a short break; effective over 6-7f and acts on all-weather; yet to show anything of note. 66-1 last of ten on handicap debut here in September (6f); can't consider. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (11/1 -120%)Adace |
11/1(-120%) | (4) Adace 11/1, Ran to form when beaten 1l off a mark of 52 over 8f at Lingfield last time. Drawn wide; returns after a short break and effective over 7-8f on all-weather; on a handy mark but needs to build on recent revival. Twice beaten around a length off this mark recently; place claims back from a short break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (50/1 -213%)Anwen |
50/1(-213%) | (6) Anwen 50/1, Improved though possibly a bit flattered when 11l third in a novice at Kempton most recently. Visor applied for the first time; effective at 7f and acts on all-weather; an unlikely winner on handicap debut. Should do better in handicaps and two aids go on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (9) (100/1 -150%)Kameko Spirit |
100/1(-150%) | (9) Kameko Spirit 100/1, Outpaced and never threatened when beaten 10l in a handicap over 5f at Wolverhampton last time. Drawn wide; effective at 5f on all-weather; form trending the wrong way. A change of scenery hasn't had the desired effect and 7f is a new trip for her. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (8) (9/2 +59%)Match Anthem |
9/2(+59%) | (8) Match Anthem 9/2, Below form when back up in trip and beaten 10l in a handicap here last time. Effective from 6f to 8f and acts on a sound surface; currently out of form. Hit form this time last year but doesn't look poised to strike based on latest fifth. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

BALLYBAYMOONSHINER won over C&D in May and was a close third on his only subsequent start at Chepstow the following month. On that evidence, it would be no surprise to see the seven-year-old make a winning return here. The recent Bath second Mister Sandman could prove to be the main danger, although Adace and Tam Lin are others who arrive with valid form claims.

If breaking better than on stable debut at Bath 27 days ago, MISTER SANDMAN should be up to disposing of this lot.

3/1(+14%) | (11) Belle Amie 3/1, Ran to form when beaten a neck off 47 over 12f at Southwell last time; effective at 12f and suited by the all-weather; running into form in handicaps. Close second latest (1m4f, Tapeta); a repeat effort on this surface makes her a player.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (12/1 +70%)Bloodhound |
12/1(+70%) | (4) Bloodhound 12/1, No obvious excuse when beaten 9l in a handicap over 11f at Kempton last time; off a short break; effective over 10-12f on the all-weather but doesn't handle fast ground; an inconsistent and frustrating maiden. 0-19; handy mark if he can get his act together but has a bit to prove on recent form.. |

Unplaced in ten starts and recent efforts don't suggest that run will end here.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (14/1 -75%)Stintino Sunset |
14/1(-75%) | (3) Stintino Sunset 14/1, No obvious excuse when beaten 6l in a handicap over 12f at Southwell last time; had been in good form prior; effective over 10-12f on the all-weather; nicely handicapped and generally consistent. 1m2f course winner; will probably see out this trip; handy mark; each-way possible.. |

14/1(-65%) | (12) Advertorial 14/1, Won by a head off 47 over 1m6f at Wolverhampton three starts back; below form when seventh, beaten 16l off 50 last time; trainer in form; effective from 12f to 16f on the all-weather; fairly treated and not fully exposed over staying trips. Tapeta winner; bit ot prove on Polytrack but should be thereabouts if acting on it.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

BELLE AMIE built on a promising second at Southwell in September when only beaten a neck at the same venue last time. With the promise of more to come, the three-year-old could get off the mark here. Fornido won over 1m6f at Southwell a month ago and has to be noted once again, while Forglen and Blue Siam complete the shortlist.

A tricky race but FORGLEN arrives in good form and looks a solid option.

Effective at 5f and 6f, acts on good to soft, good, and all-weather; his latest C&D win suggests a further 2lb rise is lenient for his hat-trick bid. Back-to-back 5f wins here; up 2lb; yet to win beyond 5f but gets this trip; considered.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (7) (22/1 +12%)Diamond Dreamer |

Still above his last winning mark and this trip may stretch him. Below par last twice but back on a competitive mark as a result, if he can be revived.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

The recent Kempton winner Justcallmepete is likely to be popular once again, although a 5lb penalty for that success is a slight concern. Similar comments apply to the hat-trick seeking General Assembly, so preference is for SENSORIUM, who won well over C&D last month and a 5lb subsequent rise is negated by Toby Moore's 7lb claim. Tyger Bay edges out Fantasy Master to be next best.

The suggestion is SENSORIUM, who found his feet back at this level last time and, with a claimer offsetting his 5lb rise, can follow up.

3/1(+50%) | (3) Time Loop 3/1, Made steady late headway to finish runner-up, beaten 2 1/4l, on debut in a maiden over 8f at Nottingham; absent for a very lengthy period and needs to show improvement. Promising second on debut; up in trip for return from a lengthy absence; market can guide.. |

2nd (5) (4/1 -45%)Good Old Days |
4/1(-45%) | (5) Good Old Days 4/1, Raced a bit freely but improved when allowed an easy lead, finishing second by a neck in a 9f novice at Wolverhampton last time; effective up to 10f and in fair form with more to come. 4/6(+56%) | (1) Sprightly Dance 4/6, Quickened clear comfortably when winning a novice at Wolverhampton over 9f by 5 1/2l last time; effective from 1m to 10f and bred to stay further. Debut form has been franked and she's progressing well, with a strong chance of defying the penalty. Built on debut promise with decisive 9.5f Wolverhampton win; penalised; big player.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (125/1 -213%)Everest |
125/1(-213%) | (2) Everest 125/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle over 2m at Lingfield last time and faces a tough task here. 0-10 in the other code; watching brief advised now switched to this discipline.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Sprightly Dance took a step forward from her second on debut at Yarmouth to get off the mark at Wolverhampton last time and is respected. However, she might find it tough to give her penalty away to GOOD OLD DAYS. The Gosdens' filly outran her odds of 12/1 to take the silver medal home at this venue earlier this month and, with the potential for more to come, she could be the one to beat. Quamby is another to note.

After her decisive win SPRIGHTLY DANCE is an obvious choice. Some of the others are potential improvers.

2nd (4) (10/1 -43%)Kartini |
10/1(-43%) | (4) Kartini 10/1, Disappointing on handicap debut when beaten 5l over 7f at Newcastle last time. Wears tongue-tie for the first time; effective at 7f; longer trip should suit but needs more. Needs more but there's real hope for 1m2f on breeding. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) (3/1 +57%)Alfie D |
3/1(+57%) | (8) Alfie D 3/1, Disappointing up in trip when comfortably held over 1m6f at Southwell last time. Wears visor for the first time; off a short break; effective at 12f on the all-weather; drops in trip after latest effort. First-time headgear (visor) probably needs to sharpen him up back at 1m2f. |

4th (9) (11/1 +8%)Grey Phoenix |
11/1(+8%) | (9) Grey Phoenix 11/1, Far too free and never threatened when stepped up in trip over 12f at Kempton last time. Effective at 1m on the all-weather; current mark looks stiff enough. Can only watch over this intermediate trip. |

6th (5) (10/3 -21%)Betty Bassett |
10/3(-21%) | (5) Betty Bassett 10/3, Ran to form when fourth, beaten 4/4l in a handicap over 8f at Newcastle latest. Effective from 8f to 10f; respected up 2lb. Has generally run well in defeat since scoring on handicap debut; solid option. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (33/1 -32%)Yasmina |
33/1(-32%) | (2) Yasmina 33/1, Needed the run on handicap debut when well beaten over 7f here last time. Absent for a very lengthy period; effective from 7f to 8f; needs to prove ability remains following long layoff. Soundly beaten on handicap/stable debut here when last seen 538 days ago; up in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (10) (66/1 -200%)Tilsworth Max |
66/1(-200%) | (10) Tilsworth Max 66/1, No obvious excuse when beaten 7/2l over 8f here last time. Effective from 7f to 8f; regressive profile. Placed just once in 20 starts and has finished weakly when going beyond 7f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (1) (12/1 -85%)Egoiste |
12/1(-85%) | (1) Egoiste 12/1, Never competitive after missing the break when finishing down the field in a handicap here most recently. Effective from 1m to 12f, best on the all-weather; current mark demands more. Out of form in May when last seen and probably wouldn't want it to get tactical. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (6) (66/1 -65%)Luisa |
66/1(-65%) | (6) Luisa 66/1, Probably didn't handle the ground when down the field in a Nottingham handicap last time. Effective up to 10f, all worthwhile form on the all-weather; bit to prove at present. Can't consider on what we've seen in two runs since changing hands for 9,500gns in July. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

This looks a wide-open contest, so only a tentative vote goes to LOVE YOUR WORK. Darryll Holland's nine-year-old is a course winner who finished second in this grade over track and trip on his latest outing and could capitalise on an unchanged rating. Kartini sports a first-time tongue-tie in the hope of bringing out improvement on just her second outing in a handicap, so she is of interest. Betty Bassett isn't ruled out either.

With form figures of 12 in Class 6 contests, BETTY BASSETT looks the play. Returning to further is a small plus.
Ths is the racecard key.

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
