The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

PIERCHIC failed to threaten the winner when third at Wolverhampton on debut. Saying that, the daughter of Palace Pier was doing her best work in the closing stages and has to be of interest here with that experience under her belt. Neat And Tidy debuted in a tougher contest at Newbury in September and could feature at this level having subsequently switched yards. Accommodation, So Regal and Let Her Go are newcomers to note.

Pierchic should have come on from her debut, but is opposed by the newcomer SO REGAL who makes strong appeal on breeding.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

SNOW LIGHT left her moderate debut effort behind when beaten only a head at Kempton last month. Charlie Appleby's filly finished clear of the rest in second and looks set to launch another bold bid with further improvement on the cards. Pretty Ambitious drops back in trip with a shout after going close over a mile here, while the 150,000gns purchase Buckland Belle is a newcomer worthy of consideration.

Blue Samuna is open to improvement but SNOW LIGHT sets a clear standard and remains capable of better herself.

7/1(+75%) | (4) Akrivos 7/1, Continued in poor form when down the field in a 7f novice at Leicester most recent; showed little in strong novice events and has something to prove on handicap debut. Bred to be much better than this and he needs a close market check now handicapping. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (9) (28/1 +0%)Chinchin |
28/1(+0%) | (9) Chinchin 28/1, Showed minor improvement when well beaten in a 6f novice at Wolverhampton latest; usually held up; bred for 7/8f or further; could improve now handicapping up in trip. Poor form thus far but up in trip for her nursery debut and could take a good step forward. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (4/1 +71%)Lapidarist |
4/1(+71%) | (1) Lapidarist 4/1, Didn't stay and was below form when comfortably held in a nursery over 9f at Newmarket last time; effective 7-9f, acts on all-weather; disappointing so far in handicaps. Down the field in two turf nurseries but this is much easier than her latest assignment. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (9/2 +31%)Mali Star |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (4/1 -14%)Diamond Ali |
4/1(-14%) | (5) Diamond Ali 4/1, Showed small improvement when up in trip and beaten 3/4l off 49 over 7f at Leicester last time; effective at 6/7f; this longer trip could suit. Two good runs in Leicester nurseries last month; 1m should suit; 3lb rise demands more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (9/1 +44%)October Surprise |
9/1(+44%) | (8) October Surprise 9/1, Again ran to a moderate level when down the field in a maiden at Kempton most recent; yet to find suitable conditions; improvement needed. Well beaten in three 1m runs this autumn; more realistic task now handicapping. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Lapidarist returns to this lower grade with a chance of making the frame. Mali Star has shown steady progress and could have say in proceedings, but DIAMOND ALI might prove the one to side with. He posted his best effort so far when beaten less than a length upped to 7f at Leicester and, with this extra yardage offering the promise of further improvement, the son of A'Ali may well open his account.

This may be a stronger race than the one CROWN THE FUTURE won on Tuesday but he was well on top at the finish and can defy his penalty.

7/4(+47%) | (1) An Bradan Feasa 7/4, Scored by a neck off 113 over 2m4f at Southwell on his penultimate start. Made late headway and ran to form when fourth back on the Flat last time. The trainer is in form. Effective from 11f to 14f and acts on all-weather. Could progress further up in trip. Yet to attempt this far on the Flat, but has looked well worth a go over it; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (15/2 -114%)Saratoga Gold |
15/2(-114%) | (4) Saratoga Gold 15/2, Ran to form when beaten 4l off 68 over 2m1f at Wolverhampton last time. Ridden by a top course jockey. Effective from 12f to 16f and best on a sound surface. Capable but on a losing run. Losing run is up to 23 despite a steadily declining mark; needs a bit more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (18/1 -50%)D Day Arvalenreeva |
18/1(-50%) | (2) D Day Arvalenreeva 18/1, Made mistakes and was outpaced when running poorly in a 2m3f handicap hurdle at Exeter last time. Effective from 11f to 12f and acts on all-weather. This is her first Flat run in a year. Completed a hat-trick over hurdles in the spring, but regressed since; resurgence needed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (7/1 -8%)Red Flyer |
7/1(-8%) | (3) Red Flyer 7/1, Below form when fourth, beaten 20l, in a handicap at Kempton last time. Effective from 14f to 16f. In moderate form currently. Not at his best lately, but has won over this trip and drops in grade; possibilities. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (6/5 +31%)Gemmari |
6/5(+31%) | (5) Gemmari 6/5, Ran to form and may have needed the run when beaten 5l in a 12f handicap at Kempton last time. Suited by 12f and acts on all-weather. Likely to improve further up in trip. Pedigree offers hope for the longer trip and he remains unexposed; high on list. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

The unexposed Gemmari made a fairly pleasing return at Kempton last month and this longer trip has threatened to suit for a while now. Richard Hannon's gelding merits the utmost respect, especially in these calmer waters, although the vote goes to AN BRADAN FEASA. The son of Camelot won twice over hurdles before running with credit upon returning to the level, and he too looks certain to benefit from a step up in distance. Saratoga Gold is also noted.

The vote goes to GEMMARI who remains unexposed, while there is enough in his pedigree to suggest he can cope with the step up in trip.

10/3(+5%) | (5) Gladiadora 10/3, Again below form when beaten 3l off 57 over 9f at Wolverhampton last time. Effective from 8f to 10f but still has to prove her effectiveness on the all-weather. Bath maiden win for J Tickle in August (1m); two fair runs for new stable; each-way claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (9/2 +68%)First Encounter |
9/2(+68%) | (7) First Encounter 9/2, Well below form when beaten 8l in a handicap at Southwell last time. Drawn wide but effective from 8f to 10f and difficult to predict. Course winner but he has been hit and miss since a wide-margin turf win in July. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (18/5 +20%)Rogue Identity |
18/5(+20%) | (3) Rogue Identity 18/5, Ran poorly when well beaten in a 10f maiden at Yarmouth last time, possibly not staying the trip. Effective at 8f and could improve now handicapping. Promising debut (1m, AW); well held in two 1m2f turf runs this year; new yard; h'cap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (9/4 +25%)Rusheen Boy |
9/4(+25%) | (1) Rusheen Boy 9/4, Scored by 3/4l off 58 over 7f here in August and ran to form last time. Effective from 6f to 8f and remains in decent form. Four-time winner, including here (7f); appeared to stay 1m last time; one to consider. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (16/1 -129%)The Spotlight Kid |
16/1(-129%) | (4) The Spotlight Kid 16/1, Below form in a visor when finishing down the field in a 7f handicap at Kempton most recently. Effective at 8f and may need this first run since the spring. On a winning mark but he is returning from a break and probably best watched. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (22/1 -83%)Spring |
22/1(-83%) | (6) Spring 22/1, Again well below form when beaten 5 1/2l in a 6f handicap at Kempton last time. Cheekpieces applied for the first time; effective at 5f or 6f but needs to bounce back. Hasn't progressed this year and now steps up in distance with cheekpieces enlisted. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (12/1 +0%)Salve Electra |
12/1(+0%) | (2) Salve Electra 12/1, Again below her spring level when beaten 4l off 64 at Southwell last time. Cheekpieces go on for the first time and, while suited by 8f, she has a bit to prove. Struggled in handicaps after her Brighton novice win but down in class and accessories on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (14/1 -250%)Madrigal Moment |
14/1(-250%) | (8) Madrigal Moment 14/1, Took a step back in the right direction when beaten 2l off 45 here last time. With the trainer in form and effective from 8f to 10f, she is respected on that latest effort. Two placed efforts in handicaps, including C&D latest; each-way claims once again. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

There was plenty of encouragement to be drawn from MADRIGAL MOMENT's most recent effort. Third over C&D without ever really looking likely to win, she has fewer blemishes on her record than many of these and with Toby Moore taking off a handy 7lb, she can take another step forward. Spring tackles a mile for the first time and the addition of cheekpieces could also see her in a better light. Handicap debutant Rogue Identity warrants close inspection too.

Rusheen Boy could have more to come over 1m but ROGUE IDENTITY is preferred now making his stable/handicap debut.

13/2(+35%) | (9) All Too Beautiful 13/2, Ran to form when beaten 3 1/4l off 55 at Bath last time, down in trip on deep ground. Effective at 6/7f and unproven on all-weather. Inconsistent of late. A Leicester blip aside she's been in good form since July; can give another good account. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (13/2 -63%)Carlton And Co |
13/2(-63%) | (1) Carlton And Co 13/2, Improved, won with something to spare when landing a handicap by 3l off 59 at Newcastle last time; effective 6/7f, acts on GS, GF, AW; respected under penalty. Back on the up now and last week's Newcastle win was her 3rd since July 30; solid claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (12) (22/1 +33%)Colorada Dancer |
22/1(+33%) | (12) Colorada Dancer 22/1, Had the run of the race but still below form when down the field in a handicap at Brighton last time. Wears a tongue-tie for the first time. 9/1(-6%) | (11) Lion Ring 9/1, Ran to form down in trip when beaten 2l off 47 at Kempton last time. Effective at 5/6f and best on all-weather. Needs more to feature. 2nd over C&D in September and not beaten far at Kempton last time; others appeal more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (1/1 +71%)Calafrio |
1/1(+71%) | (3) Calafrio 1/1, Improved in new headgear when landing a handicap by 2l off 53 at Kempton last time. Second run after a wind operation. Effective at 6f and acts on all-weather. Could be open to further progress. Frustrating for P Kirby but made a positive impact for new yard at Kempton; big player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (7/1 +13%)Up The Monk |
7/1(+13%) | (7) Up The Monk 7/1, Late gains, ran to form when 5l third in a handicap at Wolverhampton most recent run; top course trainer; effective 6/7f, all worthwhile runs on AW; respected off this mark. Three good runs, including a 6f win at Southwell, for Mick Appleby; may do better still. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (14) (100/1 -300%)Purpendicular |
100/1(-300%) | (14) Purpendicular 100/1, Again ran to a poor level when comfortably held in a maiden over 7f here last time. Mixed pedigree stamina-wise. Yet to show anything and breathing remains a worry. Poor form in three maiden runs at up to 7f; this more suitable but still risky. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (10) (40/1 -60%)Dubai Magic |
40/1(-60%) | (10) Dubai Magic 40/1, Below form after a slow start when tried in a visor, beaten 6 1/2l in a handicap over 5f at Wolverhampton last time. Effective at 5/6f and best on all-weather. Unreliable maiden. 17-race maiden; went close here (5f) in August but often tricky at the start and opposable. |

9th (8) (40/1 -186%)Analytical Engine |
40/1(-186%) | (8) Analytical Engine 40/1, Won a handicap by 2 1/2l off 47 at Yarmouth two starts ago but well below form when the race came too soon last time. Wide draw. Suited by 6f and acts on all-weather. Needs to bounce back. Improved to win at Yarmouth in August but 7lb higher mark/wide stall the negatives today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (4) (18/1 -64%)Sir Rodneyredblood |
18/1(-64%) | (4) Sir Rodneyredblood 18/1, Below form when beaten 5l in a handicap over 5f here last time but was in good form prior. Effective at 5/6f and best on all-weather. Inconsistent front-runner who likes it here. Prolific AW winner; not at his best last time and plenty of other pace to deal with today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (6) (14/1 -27%)Master Dandy |
14/1(-27%) | (6) Master Dandy 14/1, Found little and ran well below form when well beaten in a handicap at Lingfield latest. Wears a visor for the first time. Suited by 6f and acts on all-weather, but below form recently. Down in the weights and tried in new headgear but he does need to raise his game a notch. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (2) (18/1 -29%)Dark Dreamer |
18/1(-29%) | (2) Dark Dreamer 18/1, Again well below form when beaten 6 1/2l in a handicap at Wolverhampton last time. Effective at 6f and acts on all-weather, but out of form. Not at best in July but he returns with cheekpieces back on and in a lower grade; chance. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Pinjarra and Calafrio were comfortable winners last time out, but they're both drawn wider than ideal and CARLTON AND CO was impressive latest too. Lewis Chalkley got a good tune out of the mare that day and, despite having a penalty to shoulder this time, she might be hard to reel in. Up The Monk had an excuse at Wolverhampton and it would be unwise to write off Sir Rodneyredblood, who has eight course wins to his name.

Carlton And Co is greatly respected but CALAFRIO (nap) won decisively at Kempton on her stable debut and can follow up.

2nd (10) (11/4 +8%)Race To The Stars |
11/4(+8%) | (10) Race To The Stars 11/4, Disappointing when a well-held fourth beaten 15l in a novice over 12f at Ascot latest; effective 11/12f, acts on GS, AW; potential improver switching to handicaps. Winning debut at Southwell, but disappointed next time; watch market on handicap debut. |

A competitive handicap could go the way of TYCOON. Less exposed than most of today's rivals, the son of Kingman has been gelded since finishing a respectable sixth at York in September, and his yard has been among the winners in the past week. Bragbor has solid claims having just missed out at Newcastle recently, while the progressive King's Code just got the better of Londoner when scoring at Kempton and that pair are hard to separate.

The selection is BRAGBOR who has his first race away from Newcastle but who may find the set up of this race suiting him.

4th (2) (3/1 +0%)Kewmill |
3/1(+0%) | (2) Kewmill 3/1, Confirmed debut level when second, beaten 2l in a novice at Lingfield last time. Ridden by a top course jockey. Effective at 6/7f and acts on all-weather. Considered. Promise in two AW runs last winter; absent 318 days but makes yard debut in modest race. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Eliza Bennet found one too good yet again when failing to land the odds at Kempton. Blinkers are applied in the hope of improvement, but the newcomer WHY NOT ME may prove above average. Stuart Williams' filly is a half-sister to the Irish Oaks heroine You Got To Me and any strong support for the the daughter of Time Test could point to a big run. Savannah Grey might prove best of the remainder.

Kewmill is open to progress but WHY NOT ME has a striking pedigree in the context of this field and can make a winning debut.

Effective over 7/8f and this drop in trip may suit. Low-key stable debut at Newmarket last month; cheekpieces added now back on AW. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

A narrow winner at Newcastle a week ago, KINDEST NATION found plenty for pressure in the final furlong and may well have won by further with a clear run. Toby Moore's allowance negates her 5lb penalty and she could go in again. Stratocracy wasn't beaten far when third at Wolverhampton and will likely shape well off an unchanged mark. McKenna is another to consider with last month's reappearance run under his belt.

Kindest Nation is high on the list but STRATOCRACY is marginally preferred after a solid effort at Wolverhampton three weeks ago.
Ths is the racecard key.
