1st (7) (1/1 +38%)Le Frimeur |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

7/4(-40%) | (5) Knead A Win 7/4, Ran to form when 5¼l third in a maiden hurdle over 2m at Ffos Las on latest run. Trainer in good form; returns from a long layoff with a first-time tongue-tie. Effective between 2m and 2½m and consistent in a short career, expected to remain competitive. Not beaten far at Ffos Las last time and the front two have franked that form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (7/2 -5%)Douglas Hyde |
7/2(-5%) | (4) Douglas Hyde 7/2, Needed the run on hurdle debut when 18l third in a novice over 2m1f at Bangor-on-Dee last time. Effective at 2m and acts on soft and good ground. Consistent in bumpers and likely to progress further over hurdles, possibly at longer trips. Runner-up in three soft-ground bumpers; third on good ground switched to hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (150/1 -127%)Devilsrollthedice |
150/1(-127%) | (2) Devilsrollthedice 150/1, Produced a modest effort when fourth, beaten 16l, in a 3m maiden at Stowlin last time and has plenty to find here. Runner-up in one of his five Irish points but wouldn't be the obvious answer to this. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (100/1 -52%)My Boy Aaron |
100/1(-52%) | (6) My Boy Aaron 100/1, Outpaced and never threatened when finishing down the field in a maiden hurdle over 2m4f at Ffos Las last time. Had been in good form before that; effective at 2m and acts on soft and good ground; consistent in bumpers but has a bit to prove over hurdles. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (22/1 +12%)Pacman |
22/1(+12%) | (8) Pacman 22/1, Great Pretender gelding; half-brother to Hitman, high-class at 20f. Half-brother to high-class chaser Hitman and he's out of a dual French 2m hurdle winner. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (125/1 -89%)Devon Blue |
125/1(-89%) | (3) Devon Blue 125/1, Has shown no worthwhile form; cheekpieces applied for the first time; faces a stiff task. Tailed off when unseating last time (80-1) and has no form claims; cheekpieces added. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

LE FRIMEUR was the easy winner of an Irish point-to-point in March and this half-brother to a couple of winners over hurdles is an intriguing contender on his Rules debut. Douglas Hyde, who was consistent in bumpers last season, should be wiser after his hurdles bow at Bangor and looks a key player. The returning Knead A Win has place claims now stepping up in trip with a tongue-tie added.

Le Frimeur (second choice) could be anything but KNEAD A WIN wasn't beaten far behind talented horses in his last race.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) (25/1 +24%)Pounds At The Time |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (10) (66/1 -371%)Sioux Falls |
66/1(-371%) | (10) Sioux Falls 66/1, Stable has won two of the last ten runnings of this race; improved when comfortably held in a maiden over 3m at Taylorstown last time; faces a stiff task. Made it fourth-time lucky in Irish points when justifying favouritism on his final run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (11) (150/1 -127%)Tell The Tale |
150/1(-127%) | (11) Tell The Tale 150/1, Bit free and needed the run when well beaten in a maiden hurdle here last time; 3m point winner who looks one for handicaps over further. Pulled up and tailed off in his two runs over hurdles and was 300-1 for the latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (33/1 +50%)Largy Panic |
33/1(+50%) | (4) Largy Panic 33/1, Pulled up in a maiden hurdle over 2m4f at Ffos Las last time and likely to need more time. Placed in a point; faded tamely and was pulled up at Ffos Las (2m4f, soft). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) (12/1 -50%)Necronaut |
12/1(-50%) | (7) Necronaut 12/1, Made too much use of up in trip on hurdle debut when comfortably held in a maiden hurdle over 2m3f here last time; had been in good form beforehand, effective over 2m, and needs to bounce back. 28/1(+30%) | (1) Bel Ombre 28/1, Keen and outpaced, needing the run on hurdle debut when well beaten in a maiden hurdle here last time; had been in good form beforehand and may prefer a bit further than 2m. Needed to show more on his recent hurdling debut here when beaten knocking on 50l. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (12) (250/1 -400%)Rest Is The Best |
250/1(-400%) | (12) Rest Is The Best 250/1, 8,000 euros Order Of St George filly; half-sister to A Genie In Abottle, very smart at 25f. 8,000euros 3yo; has winners in the family and her dam won a bumper, but others preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (3) (80/1 +20%)Getaway Sam |
80/1(+20%) | (3) Getaway Sam 80/1, Unseated in a novice hurdle here last time; trainer in good form; may appreciate a bit further than 2m over hurdles. Unseated early (hampered) on recent hurdle debut here when 150-1. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Razors Edge, a 100,000-euro purchase as a three-year-old, warrants a betting check on his racecourse bow. A half-brother to Grade 1-winning hurdler My Drogo, the son of Walk In The Park has plenty going for him on paper, despite having already undergone wind surgery. However, LASKO DES OBEAUX was second to a promising type (subsequently sold for 250,000 pounds) in an Irish point-to-point in March and could be well placed to make a winning debut under Rules. Necronaut and Doctors Hill appeal most of those with hurdles experience.

Lasko Des Obeaux and Razors Edge are hugely respected but DOCTORS HILL sets a fair standard.

3/1(+33%) | (4) Ben Solo 3/1, Needed the run on chase debut when comfortably held in a handicap chase over 2m here last time; effective between 2m and 2½m, handles soft and good ground; can do better over fences. Fair hurdler; well held on chase debut here but today's softer ground looks favourable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (8) (5/1 -11%)Petty Cash |
5/1(-11%) | (8) Petty Cash 5/1, Improved up in trip after wind surgery when landing a handicap by 1¼l off 104 over 3m here last time; returning from a long layoff; this is his second run after a wind operation; effective from 2m to 3m and progressing over fences, still well treated on hurdle form. Off since winning over nearly 3m on this card 12 months ago; shorter trip is a concern. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (9/1 +36%)Genietoile |
9/1(+36%) | (6) Genietoile 9/1, Travelled well and ran to form when second, beaten 5½l, in a maiden hurdle over 2m4f at Hereford last time; absent for a long spell but a clear threat if ready to go. Makes chase/handicap debut after a long time out; market should be informative. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (25/1 -39%)Sheldon |
25/1(-39%) | (3) Sheldon 25/1, Keen and made mistakes when below form, comfortably held in a handicap chase over 2m5f at Newton Abbot last time; effective from 2½m to 3m; had been in good form until latest, with jumping an issue recently. Fairly handicapped four-time winner over fences; last season never really got going. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (6/1 -20%)Dartmoor Pirate |
6/1(-20%) | (1) Dartmoor Pirate 6/1, Below form when finishing down the field in a handicap hurdle over 2m7f at Uttoxeter last time; returning from a long layoff but could surprise on chase debut off lenient mark based on hurdle form. Didn't jump great in his previous chase but fairly treated on the pick of his hurdle form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (22/1 -175%)Astronomic View |
22/1(-175%) | (5) Astronomic View 22/1, Showed promise when third, beaten 7¼l, in a handicap chase here on first completed chase start; returning from a long layoff; effective from 2½m to 3m and fairly treated on hurdle form, though this may be a sharp enough test. Lightly raced chaser and handicapped to have a say if on his game first time back. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (5/2 +79%)Castelfort |
5/2(+79%) | (2) Castelfort 5/2, Needed the run on chase debut when comfortably held in a handicap chase over 2m5f at Newton Abbot last time; trainer in form and effective at 2m on soft ground; should improve for that initial experience. 3-9 over hurdles; will need to run better than on his chase debut but that's feasible. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (9) (22/1 -214%)Juracique |
22/1(-214%) | (9) Juracique 22/1, Below form when well beaten in a 4yo chase over 2m2f at Auteuil last time; absent for a long period; effective at 2m and handles soft ground; fairly treated on her best French form, but has a bit to prove after the layoff. Market can guide on debut for Venetia Williams after a long absence. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (7) (9/1 -125%)Devon Dude |
9/1(-125%) | (7) Devon Dude 9/1, Well backed and ran to form when second, beaten 1¼l, in a maiden hurdle over 2m4f at Ffos Las last time; open to marked improvement. Competitive over hurdles but went 0-6; chasing could be the making of him. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Runner-up on his last three starts over hurdles, Devon Dude has been generally reliable and should be capable of going close on his chasing debut. However, PETTY CASH has experience in this discipline and having won when fresh here a year ago, the Henry Daly-trained eight-year-old looks worth chancing on just his fifth outing over the larger obstacles. Astronomic View and Ben Solo are the pick of the rest.

The 6yo BEN SOLO (nap) should be happier under these conditions than on the good ground he faced in his first chase.

1st (7) (9/2 +10%)High Tea |
9/2(+10%) | (7) High Tea 9/2, Outpaced but improved and looked in need of a stiffer test when fourth, beaten 12l, in a novice hurdle over 2m at Stratford latest. Effective at 2m; form of debut effort is working out well, and as a 3m point winner could improve for further. Not obviously well treated for handicap debut but the longer trip may unlock improvement. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (10) (40/1 -82%)Analiese |
40/1(-82%) | (10) Analiese 40/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Exeter latest. Effective at 2m but her current mark demands more. Fourth in Listed fillies' handicap in April but ran very poorly on recent seasonal return. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (4/1 +11%)A Perfect Day |
4/1(+11%) | (1) A Perfect Day 4/1, Went clear comfortably for a very promising debut when winning a novice hurdle at Wincanton over 2m5f by 13l last time. Returning from a long layoff; effective at 2m5f and acts on good to soft ground. May have more to offer though the debut form has had some knocks. Won by 13l on rules debut a year ago but not seen since and the form is questionable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (8/1 -7%)Call Me Legend |
8/1(-7%) | (2) Call Me Legend 8/1, Ran to form when fourth, beaten 13l, in a maiden hurdle over 2m2f at Fontwell latest. Effective at 2m and handles good to soft or good ground. In form, the step up in trip should suit, and he can find a race soon. Shaped with clear promise on both hurdle starts; up in trip for handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (11) (13/2 +13%)Klic Boum |
13/2(+13%) | (11) Klic Boum 13/2, Never threatened and needed the run when down the field in a handicap hurdle over 2m1f at Exeter most recent. Effective from 2m to 2 1/2m; generally consistent until latest effort. Did not get competitive on seasonal debut and now 0-10 over hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (33/1 -313%)Lucky One |
33/1(-313%) | (3) Lucky One 33/1, Had too much to do but made a big effort back from a layoff, beaten 3 1/4l off 109 over 2m1f at Newton Abbot last time. Effective around 2 1/2m and suited by cut; inconsistent but on a fair mark if building on latest effort. Unreliable nowadays but posted a good effort when third at Newton Abbot last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) (12/1 -9%)Moorland Rambler |
12/1(-9%) | (9) Moorland Rambler 12/1, Outpaced but ran to form and looked in need of a stiffer test when fourth, beaten 7l, in a handicap hurdle over 2m1f at Exeter latest. Trainer in form; effective around 2 1/2m and acts on good ground, though best form is on testing going; inconsistent but on a fair mark. Good fourth at Exeter recently, and there are reasons to believe he can kick on again here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (5) (25/1 -25%)Midnight Ginger |
25/1(-25%) | (5) Midnight Ginger 25/1, Made too much use of and finished lame when down the field in a handicap hurdle over 2m4f at Uttoxeter most recently. Returning from a break; effective from 2m to 2 1/2m and probably best with some cut; form had tailed off earlier in the year. Out of form when last seen in spring but likes this track and is well handicapped. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (4) (2/1 +20%)Lundi Noir |
2/1(+20%) | (4) Lundi Noir 2/1, Improved when stepped up in trip on handicap debut, just tiring late after a break when 4l third in a handicap hurdle here on latest run. Effective from 2m to 2 1/2m on decent ground and looks to be progressing. Creditable third of 16 in competitive C&D contest on last month's handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) (16/1 +0%)Valens Bruyee |
16/1(+0%) | (6) Valens Bruyee 16/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle over 3m at Ffos Las latest. Effective between 2 1/2m and 3m, acts on heavy and good to soft ground; recent form has been in and out. On workable mark but was pulled up on five of last seven starts; others are less risky. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (8) (80/1 -220%)Itsnoteasy |
80/1(-220%) | (8) Itsnoteasy 80/1, Produced a poor run when fourth, beaten 63l, in a handicap chase over 2m7f at Leicester latest. Returning from a long layoff. Out of form for Olly Murphy last season and has quite a bit to prove on stable debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

LUNDI NOIR did well for one so inexperienced when making the frame in a similar C&D event last month and as that was his first appearance since his successful Market Rasen introduction back in February, he is expected to take the necessary step forward. A Perfect Day made a sparkling hurdling debut at Wincanton a year ago to the day, but he probably didn't beat much and hasn't been seen since. Call Me Legend and High Tea also try handicap company for the first time and might be the bigger threats.

Unexposed 4yo LUNDI NOIR was placed in a big-field C&D handicap on his seasonal debut six weeks ago, and that form reads well.

7/4(+30%) | (1) Diamond Dealer 7/4, Improved when stepped up in trip under a positive ride on chase debut, landing a handicap by a neck off 108 over 2m7f at Kelso last time. Effective from 2 1/2m to 3m, suited by decent ground, and likely to progress further over fences. All out to win at Kelso but only 2lb higher and he might well improve again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (9/4 +36%)The Big Reveal |
9/4(+36%) | (6) The Big Reveal 9/4, Ran to form and did well to win as the rider lost irons late, landing a handicap by 3l off 79 at Lingfield last time. 3rd (3) (9/4 +44%)River Voyage |
9/4(+44%) | (3) River Voyage 9/4, Needed every yard when dropped in trip but ran to form, landing a handicap by 1 1/2l off 98 over 2m7f at Exeter last time. Returning from a long layoff and looks the pick on the balance of form. 0-2 over fences but has since improved over hurdles; appeals as a strong stayer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (13/2 -30%)Yorgunnabeplucky |
13/2(-30%) | (7) Yorgunnabeplucky 13/2, Ran to form when second, beaten 8 1/2l in a handicap chase over 2m7f at Stratford latest. Effective from 2m to 2 3/4m, acts on good to soft and good ground; progressing over fences and looks well treated off an unchanged mark. First and second in two chases; remains unexposed and lurks on a low weight. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Joe Anderson lost an iron at a crucial stage, but overcame it to get The Big Reveal home at Lingfield last week. Even under his penalty, he is well treated compared to his hurdles rating, but DIAMOND DEALER should have more to offer. The six-year-old made a successful start to life with Dan Skelton on his chasing debut at Kelso and a 2lb rise may underestimate him. Returning hat-trick seeker River Voyage has to be considered, and Yorgunnabeplucky isn't out of it.

Diamond Dealer has to be feared but ISLE OF GOLD appeals as one with a lot more to offer in staying chases.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (11) (11/2 +66%)Mumbles |
11/2(+66%) | (11) Mumbles 11/2, Outpaced and needed the run when down the field in a handicap hurdle over 2m4f at Ffos Las most recently. Effective over 2½m and suited by plenty of cut; form has tailed off over hurdles and fences. Dual winner; needs to turn a corner but has got himself well handicapped. |

50/1(-79%) | (3) Miss Maxfort 50/1, Stopped quickly when down the field in a handicap hurdle at Tramore most recently. 6/1(+14%) | (2) Unleash The Beast 6/1, Ran to form on handicap debut but looked in need of further when well beaten in a handicap hurdle over 2m1f at Doncaster last time. Returning from a long layoff; effective at 2m and acts with cut; consistent so far, may prefer further in time. Mildly progressive last season before an underwhelming handicap debut on final sighting. |

9th (8) (22/1 -83%)Cornish Comedy |
22/1(-83%) | (8) Cornish Comedy 22/1, Made mistakes but improved down in grade under positive handling when second, beaten 19l in a novice hurdle over 2m3f at Taunton last time. Returning from a long layoff; effective over 2-2½m and acts with cut; steadily improving and opening mark looks fair. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) (80/1 -60%)Lupus Regem |
80/1(-60%) | (1) Lupus Regem 80/1, Outpaced and jumped poorly when comfortably held in a handicap chase here on chase debut last time. Returning from a long layoff and needs to show more. Did well for Olly Murphy but powers have been on the wane for this yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (10) (125/1 -150%)Morning Mayhem |

Having come home in splendid isolation at Uttoxeter last weekend, it's difficult to look beyond REINADO. The five-year-old is 14lb well-in and is sure to take all the beating if performing at a similar level on this quick turnaround. Mumbles bolted up here in January 2024 and is entitled to strip fitter for his 10th-placed return at Ffos Las. Evan Williams' charge may give the selection most to think about, ahead of Storming Nelson, who has tumbled down the ratings.

With a 14lb hike looming on the horizon after strolling home at Uttoxeter, REINADO needs to make the most of this opportunity.

St James's Finest certainly shouldn't be found lacking for stamina judged on pedigree and market support on his racecourse debut would be interesting. However, NO WALKOVER was headed in the closing stages by a subsequent 400,000-pound purchase on his sole outing between the flags and appeals more on his Rules bow. Lipstick, Half Hoping and Professor Peppy are others to monitor in the betting.

The interesting runner is NO WALKOVER who very nearly beat a highly-touted horse in his Irish point.
Ths is the racecard key.
