|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (28/1 -75%)Phineas Bunce |
28/1(-75%) | (8) Phineas Bunce 28/1, Failed to build on debut when comfortably held in a novice hurdle at Exeter last time. Had been in good form prior. 250/1(-67%) | (6) Getaway Sam 250/1, Pulled up in a novice hurdle here last time. Effective around 2m in bumpers but may need more time to develop over hurdles. Yet to show any significant promise after three hurdle runs. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (9) (200/1 -33%)Stay Hopeful |
200/1(-33%) | (9) Stay Hopeful 200/1, Made no impression from off the pace when finishing down the field in a maiden hurdle at Uttoxeter last time. Effective at 3m in points and likely to need further in time. Soundly beaten in two slow-ground hurdles this autumn and remains best watched. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (3) (200/1 -100%)Ahanaglogh |
200/1(-100%) | (3) Ahanaglogh 200/1, Outpaced and needed the run when finishing down the field on hurdle debut in a novice event at Exeter last time. Likely to require further than 2m over hurdles and looks up against it here. Finished a long way behind Tennessee Tango when 100-1 for hurdling debut at Exeter. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (125/1 -89%)Could Be You |
125/1(-89%) | (4) Could Be You 125/1, Showed some promise despite a notable mistake when 23l third in a novice hurdle at Lingfield last time. Effective at 2m4f and acts on good to soft ground. Should improve with experience. Did not achieve a great deal when well-held third of five on rules debut at Lingfield. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Spectacularsunrise continued his upward trajectory when completing a double on his handicap bow at Kelso. The five-year-old merits respect reverting to novice company, but he could prove vulnerable at the top of the weights. MOSSY FEN ROAD displayed a willing attitude when making a winning hurdles debut at Lingfield and any improvement could see him follow up. Smart Flat recruit Galashiels and Exeter third Tennessee Tango are others to consider.

Spectacularsunrise is respected but there is surely more to come from MOSSY FEN ROAD, who can improve past his main rival.

5th (5) (9/2 +59%)Knight Templar |
9/2(+59%) | (5) Knight Templar 9/2, Keen and travelled well but found little up the hill when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Sandown last time. Effective at 2m and acts on soft and good to soft ground. Inconsistent. Won juvenile event at Kempton on this day last year; today may be the time to catch him. |

33/1(+34%) | (10) Gower Spirit 33/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Ascot last time. Cheekpieces on for the first time. Effective at 2m4f and acts on heavy ground. The form of her maiden win looks modest and a bounce back is needed. Has failed to back up the form of her Uttoxeter win; headgear is now applied. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (11) (18/1 -29%)Gavin |
18/1(-29%) | (11) Gavin 18/1, Taken on up front and unable to lead when well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Hereford last time. Best at 2m or less and needs a sound surface. Likes to dominate. Long way behind Oakley at Hereford; 0-11 since his May success. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

7/1(-100%) | (6) Oakley 7/1, Well on top late for first hurdles success landing a handicap by 2 1/4l off a 8lb lower mark at Hereford last time; effective 2m-2m4f on a sound surface; new mark asks more but he could be progressive. Opened his hurdles account in Hereford contest last month; may build on that ready win. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (12) (50/1 -100%)Estate Planning |
50/1(-100%) | (12) Estate Planning 50/1, Outpaced, never threatened and poorly placed at a sharp track when fourth, beaten 9l, in a claiming hurdle at Ludlow last time. Cheekpieces on for the first time. Effective at 2m and acts on good to soft and good ground. Out of form this term. Still a maiden and has weak claims on his form this term; headgear fitted. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (13) (80/1 -344%)Cogital |
80/1(-344%) | (13) Cogital 80/1, Outpaced and never threatened when fourth, beaten 21l, in a handicap hurdle at Ludlow last time. Effective at 2m on good ground. Needs more. Defied a stone higher mark in 2022 but doesn't seem the same horse now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (3) (11/1 +0%)Zambezi Fix |
11/1(+0%) | (3) Zambezi Fix 11/1, Again below form when fourth, beaten 19l, in a handicap hurdle at Uttoxeter last time. Effective around 2m and handles cut in the ground. This veteran looks vulnerable once again. Veteran who has plenty of Chepstow form; could go well off a handy mark back here. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Kamaxos is only 4lb higher than for his Leicester triumph and he must enter the reckoning on just his third outing for the Charlie Longsdon stable. Oakley came good under a patient ride at Hereford, but the pair may be worth taking on with ANOTHER FINE MESS. Jeremy Scott's string have largely been improving for their seasonal reappearances and the six-year-old may leave his moderate Lingfield return behind him, with the cut back to 2m in his favour.

This may be the time to catch KNIGHT TEMPLAR, who is first choice ahead of Oakley.

10/3(-11%) | (1) Jour D'evasion 10/3, Improved, strong from last when landing a handicap by 4 1/4l off a 5lb lower mark at Bangor-on-Dee last time; effective 2m-2m4f, acts on Hy, GS; capable of better still off new mark. Beat Passing Kate by just over 4l at Bangor last month; still unexposed over fences. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (11/4 +63%)Passing Kate |
11/4(+63%) | (6) Passing Kate 11/4, Ran to form when second, beaten 4 1/4l in a handicap chase at Bangor-on-Dee last time; effective from 2m to 2m4f and goes well with cut in the ground; steadily progressing over fences. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (9/1 +36%)Ideallko |
9/1(+36%) | (7) Ideallko 9/1, Needed the run and may have found the ground a bit quick when fourth, beaten 33l in a handicap chase here last time; returns after a short break; effective from 2m to 2m4f on soft and good ground and should come on for that outing. Did well last season but made low-key return in October and off for another 11 weeks since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (6/1 +8%)Storminhome |
6/1(+8%) | (2) Storminhome 6/1, Had too much to do and possibly needed the run when beaten 1/2l off a 3lb higher mark at Wetherby last time; returns from a long absence; effective from 2m3f to 3m on soft and good ground but has fitness to prove. Ran well over 2m5f on stable debut in October 2024; absent since; 2m not sure to suit. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Having finished a close-up third on his debut for Dan Skelton at Wetherby in October last year, market support for Storminhome would have to be respected. However, this distance looks on the sharp side and JOUR D'EVASION has more pressing claims. The six-year-old justified favouritism at Bangor - just his second outing over fences - and a 5lb rise could prove generous. Fellow last-time-out winner Siam Park may give the selection plenty to think about.

Sean Bowen's mount BALLYBREEZE drops in grade and is selected to record his third C&D win. Heads Or Harps is feared most.

15/2(+46%) | (6) Tenter Le Tout 15/2, Travelled well and made a promising debut when winning a juvenile hurdle at Exeter by 2 1/2l last time; effective over 2m1f, acts on good to soft; progressive type but needs to step up at this level. Gained her Exeter win in a race that threw up the winner of this contest in 2023. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (16/1 +36%)Klycot |
16/1(+36%) | (3) Klycot 16/1, Had the run of the race and ran to form when winning a maiden hurdle at Exeter by 1l last time; effective around 2m, acts on heavy and soft; more required at this level. Game winner last week but seems held by two of these rivals on earlier Sandown form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (9/1 +36%)Kaldoun Des Rocs |
9/1(+36%) | (2) Kaldoun Des Rocs 9/1, Too keen and a bit green under pressure but ran to form when 4 1/4l third in a juvenile hurdle at Sandown last time; effective over 2m, acts with cut; showed useful form in France and likely to progress for top yard. Unable to lay a glove on Macktoad at Sandown but remains open to improvement. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (10/11 +17%)Macktoad |
10/11(+17%) | (1) Macktoad 10/11, Went clear for a very promising debut when winning a juvenile hurdle at Sandown by 3 1/4l last time; effective 2m, acts on S; looks smart and surely has more to offer. Manner of Sandown win suggests he's a smart prospect; yard won this race in 2021 and 2023. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (5/2 +58%)Sonic Pioneer |
5/2(+58%) | (4) Sonic Pioneer 5/2, Very promising debut when winning a juvenile hurdle at Kempton by 14l last time; trainer in form; effective 2m, acts on G; more to come but it is needed at this level. Powered clear for 14l win at Kempton on the switch to this code; interesting prospect. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

Successful in France before impressing on debut for Gary & Josh Moore at Sandown earlier this month, MACKTOAD looks an exciting prospect and is hard to ignore in his hat-trick bid. Manlaga, a half-sister to the smart Martator, was a similarly ready winner on her only start in France before joining Nicky Henderson. There is plenty to like about her profile and support in the betting would be dangerous to ignore. Sonic Pioneer and Klycot are other winning hurdlers to bear in mind.

In a Finale that includes several promising juvenile hurdlers, the percentage call goes to MANLAGA ahead of Maktoad.

11/4(+73%) | (4) Royal Rambler 11/4, Made too much use of when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Newbury last time. Effective over 2m4f and acts on soft or good to soft ground. Current mark looks fair. His maiden win came here; needs a marked step forward but he's only a 5yo and low-mileage. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (9) (6/1 -9%)Doctor Kildare |
6/1(-9%) | (9) Doctor Kildare 6/1, Scored by 1 1/4l off a 6lb lower mark at Hereford penultimate start; found nil, possibly still feeling recent races last time; trainer in form; effective 2m4f-3m2f, acts on S, G; progressing until latest. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (13/2 -8%)Ambion View |
13/2(-8%) | (6) Ambion View 13/2, Ran to form when second beaten 8 1/2l in a handicap hurdle at Exeter latest; effective at around 2m-2m6f, acts on Hy, GS; respected although stamina to prove. Second in his only two handicaps; relatively unexposed, with new trip worth a go. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (2) (3/1 +40%)Crebilly |
3/1(+40%) | (2) Crebilly 3/1, Travelled, not find much having briefly threatened beaten 7l in a handicap hurdle at Aintree last time; effective 2m4f, may not quite get 3m; mark fair, should come on for reappearance. Worth a market check on this second hurdling start this term; stamina is not proven. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (8) (33/1 -65%)Ramo |
33/1(-65%) | (8) Ramo 33/1, Made mistakes and found little when well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Newbury last time. Returning from a long layoff. Effective from 2m4f to 3m1f and prefers some cut in the ground. Yard can ready one after an absence. Soundly beaten on his latest four starts, three of them last winter; absent 302 days. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (7) (10/1 +0%)Patriotik |
10/1(+0%) | (7) Patriotik 10/1, Unsuited by a change of tactics when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Cheltenham last time. Effective over 3m and stays further. Currently in modest form. Back to last season's winning mark and not a huge shock if he surges back to form. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

KEABLE showed no signs of rustiness when he made a winning return at Newbury. A 5lb rise for that cosy success is a fair assessment and, with his stamina proven, he has a good chance of further success. Doctor Kildare had been reliable until he was turned over at Doncaster last month and is surely better than he managed that day. He rates a key player in this company. Crebilly and Ambion View shouldn't be underestimated.

Keable and Ambion View are shortlisted but PATRIOTIK could return to form with a win.

3rd (12) (28/1 -75%)Deafening Silence |
28/1(-75%) | (12) Deafening Silence 28/1, Solid effort but no match for a progressive, race-fit rival when second, beaten 15l in the Rehearsal Handicap Chase at Newcastle last time; effective from 2m4f to 3m and acts on soft and good to soft. Capable of better this season. There's plenty of the thorough stayer about him yet this is his first venture beyond 3m. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (15) (14/1 +58%)Livin On Luco |
14/1(+58%) | (15) Livin On Luco 14/1, Showed improvement and a good attitude when landing a handicap by a neck off a 6lb lower mark at Fontwell last time; effective from 2m5f to 3m4f, acts on heavy and good. 20/1(+39%) | (5) Monbeg Genius 20/1, Pulled up in the Becher Handicap Chase at Aintree last time; effective at around 3m and handles ground with cut. Progressive over fences but stamina remains to be proven. Well treated with a 4lb penalty (due to go up another 4lb) and should stay beyond 3m1f. |

50/1(-52%) | (14) Where It All Began 50/1, Pulled up in the Troytown Handicap Chase (Grade 3) at Navan last time; effective over 3m and further, suited by cut. Currently out of form. Strong challenge in this last year only to be stopped in his tracks by an error four out. |

|PU| (13) (9/2 +10%)Jubilee Express |

Well primed for another Welsh National bid. Finished strongest when second in this (soft) last year; won the Trial here; 4lb penalty. |

|PU| (11) (9/1 -38%)Git Maker |
9/1(-38%) | (11) Git Maker 9/1, Fair effort back hurdling on return when 9l third in a handicap hurdle at Lingfield most recent run; effective 3m-4m, acts on S, G; looks to have been trained for this. 3rd off this mark in 2024 Scottish National on soft; satisfactory over hurdles last month. |

|PU| (17) (28/1 -12%)Hung Jury |
28/1(-12%) | (17) Hung Jury 28/1, Scored by 4l off a 6lb lower mark at Cheltenham two starts ago; outpaced and had too much to do but ran to form when second last time. Trainer in good form; effective from 3m to 3m4f and acts on any ground. Progressive and suited by a stamina test. Stuck to his task very well when second to O'Connell at Sandown (near 3m5f, good to soft). |

|PU| (7) (28/1 +15%)Tanganyika |
28/1(+15%) | (7) Tanganyika 28/1, Below form when pulled up in a handicap chase at Sandown last time; effective over 3m and further, acts on heavy and good to soft. |PU| (1) (33/1 -136%)Intense Raffles |
33/1(-136%) | (1) Intense Raffles 33/1, May have found the ground a bit fast when well beaten in the Coral Gold Cup Handicap Chase at Newbury last time; likes to make the running and is effective from 3m to 3m2f, ideally with plenty of cut. Ground may again not be soft enough. Could still be capable of better but softer ground and right-handed track may be ideal. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (19) (100/1 -52%)Pats Fancy |
100/1(-52%) | (19) Pats Fancy 100/1, Below form up in grade when comfortably held in a handicap chase here last time; effective at around 3m and acts on soft and good to soft. Unreliable performer and up against it in this company. Disappointing these days; tailed off in the Trial and is a long way out of the handicap. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

Last year's runner-up Jubilee Express is back to do it all over again and showed he is in great form to make all over an extended 2m7f here earlier this month. Mr Vango beat the winner of this contest last season Val Dancer when just being touched off in the Becher at Aintree and commands huge respect off an unchanged rating. However, HAITI COULEURS is not one to give up on just yet. A lot more was expected when never really travelling and being pulled up in the Betfair Chase at Haydock, but the return to a handicap, along with the step back up to the marathon trip is likely to bring the best out of the Irish National heroine.

Impressive Ascot winner ROCK MY WAY (nap) can score again. Collectors Item may reverse the Trial placings with Jubilee Express.

2nd (1) (7/2 -5%)Donnacha |
7/2(-5%) | (1) Donnacha 7/2, Improved again when beaten 1/2l off a 4lb lower mark at Exeter last time; effective over 2m4f and acts on heavy and good to soft ground; may stay slightly further and remains progressive. C&D winner; career-best form when second at Exeter this month; respected. |

3rd (4) (8/1 +20%)Royal Jewel |
8/1(+20%) | (4) Royal Jewel 8/1, From a yard that won this last year; scored by 1 1/2l off an 8lb lower mark at Newton Abbot three starts ago; made too much use of last time; effective from 2m to 2m4f and suited by cut; steadily progressive before latest effort. Well held on latest outing but was in career-best form beforehand; player if back on song. |

4th (2) (25/1 -150%)Western General |
25/1(-150%) | (2) Western General 25/1, Made mistakes and was outclassed when comfortably held in a handicap chase at Newbury last time; effective at 2m and best with cut in the ground, but current mark looks stiff. Took very well to fences last season (three wins) but comes here with a point to prove. |

5th (6) (10/1 +17%)Galop De Chasse |
10/1(+17%) | (6) Galop De Chasse 10/1, From a yard with two wins in the last seven runnings of this race; pulled up in a handicap chase at Newton Abbot last time when returning from a long layoff; best around 2m4f and acts on soft and good ground; needs to bounce back. Has a very good record when fresh and returns from latest layoff on a tempting mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (20/1 +20%)Dr T J Eckleburg |
20/1(+20%) | (7) Dr T J Eckleburg 20/1, Never jumped or travelled and again failed to handle the track when well beaten in a handicap chase at Cheltenham last time; usually held up and suited by 2m with cut; below par this season but the handicapper is relenting. Course winner last season; needs to better recent efforts but worth a market check. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (5) (11/8 +27%)Ben Solo |
11/8(+27%) | (5) Ben Solo 11/8, Scored by 3l off a 10lb lower mark here penultimate start; jumped well, improved again under positive ride last time; effective 2m-2m4f, acts on S, G; looks a natural and progressing over fences. C&D winner last month and ran another big race from the front when second here 21 days ago. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

A C&D winner two starts ago, Ben Solo is bound to retain plenty of support, despite failing to justify odds-on favouritism when second over track and trip subsequently. Toss Of A Coin benefited from the switch to the Alan Jones stable to score over an extended 2m7f here, although he will need to prove as effective over this shorter distance. The one who appeals most is DONNACHA, who finished clear of the third when hitting the woodwork at Exeter and it wouldn't be a surprise to see him take a step forward.

The most interesting runner is GALOP DE CHASSE, who begins his new season from a tempting mark and has a very solid record when fresh.
Ths is the racecard key.
