1st (6) (4/9 +60%)Storming George |
4/9(+60%) | (6) Storming George 4/9, Very promising debut in a strong race when 2 1/2l third in a 2m maiden hurdle at Newbury last time; effective at 2m, acts on good to soft, bumper winner here, and clear on ratings. Smart bumper form and lots to like about his third on hurdle debut at Newbury. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (40/1 +0%)Caliach Point |
40/1(+0%) | (2) Caliach Point 40/1, Pulled up in a novice hurdle over 2m4f at Carlisle last time; trainer in form; effective at 2m but has plenty to prove after a poor debut. Well bred and might yet do better, but reservations for the time being. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (17/2 +39%)Manalishi |
17/2(+39%) | (5) Manalishi 17/2, Promising bumper debut when runner-up beaten 1 1/4l in a 2m bumper at Chepstow on only start; difficult to fancy. Second in a good-ground bumper at Chepstow and that form has some substance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (40/1 -43%)Diligent Militia |
40/1(-43%) | (3) Diligent Militia 40/1, Pulled up in a maiden hurdle over 2m4f at Ffos Las last time; 3m point winner, effective over 2m hurdles but may stay a bit further; probably one for handicaps after this. Made a noise on soft ground last time; previous Chepstow fifth has worked out well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (25/1 -79%)Timmys Jet Away |
25/1(-79%) | (7) Timmys Jet Away 25/1, Promising effort when a length winner in a 3m maiden at Tattersalls Farm on debut; wears a tongue-tie for the first time; difficult to fancy. Irish point winner bought for 68,000euros; wears a tongue-tie after wind surgery. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) (11/4 -100%)Filibustering |
11/4(-100%) | (1) Filibustering 11/4, Bit free back from a break under a big weight when 4 1/4l third in a novice hurdle at Bangor-on-Dee last time; effective at 2m, consistent in a short career, and may do better again. Highly tried second hurdle run; Bangor third was underwhelming but should come on for that. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (50/1 +0%)Queen Roslyn |
50/1(+0%) | (8) Queen Roslyn 50/1, Green and made mistakes on a modest debut when well beaten in the Introductory Hurdle over 2m at Wetherby last time; in good form on the Flat since a wind operation, more to come over hurdles but possibly in handicaps. Three Class 6 wins on the Flat; never counted on recent hurdle debut at Wetherby. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (4) (16/1 -14%)Lheur De Gloire |
16/1(-14%) | (4) Lheur De Gloire 16/1, Showed minor promise on debut when well beaten in a bumper over 2m at Newbury on his only start; trainer in form but hard to recommend. Never threatened to land a blow when beaten about 18l in a bumper at Newbury. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Filibustering sets a decent standard because he acquitted himself as well as could be expected in the Grade 1 juvenile event at Aintree following an impressive jumping bow, and shaped satisfactorily on his Bangor comeback. He may struggle to successfully concede 7lb to STORMING GEORGE, though, with Neil King's charge running well in a Grade 2 bumper before returning with an encouraging third on his first crack at timber at Newbury. Manalishi displayed ability on his Chepstow introduction, and winning pointer Timmys Jet Away is another to consider.

Filibustering could be sharper for his Bangor return but he'll probably need to be if he's to concede 7lb to STORMING GEORGE.

1st (1) (9/4 +32%)Josh The Boss |
9/4(+32%) | (1) Josh The Boss 9/4, Walkover when winning a beginners' chase at Newbury over 2m2f by 1l last time; enjoys making the running; effective at 2½m and acts on good to soft or good ground; inconsistent over hurdles but showed promise on his initial chase run. Useful hurdler but did regress; beaten in a match on chase debut; had a walkover last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (11/4 +21%)Southoftheborder |
11/4(+21%) | (4) Southoftheborder 11/4, Ran to form when second, beaten 8½l, in a handicap chase over 2m at Chepstow last time; effective between 2m and 2½m and acts on any ground; point, bumper and hurdles winner who can score over fences. No match for the winner at Chepstow but he won't mind returning to further. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (6/1 -100%)Hecouldbetheone |
6/1(-100%) | (2) Hecouldbetheone 6/1, Ran to form when second, beaten 6l, in a handicap chase over 2m4f at Plumpton last time; likes to make the running; effective over 2–2½m on decent ground; consistent and remains competitive. Recent defeats suggest the handicapper might be in charge; can still give his running. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (7/4 -8%)Wolf Moon |
7/4(-8%) | (3) Wolf Moon 7/4, Keen and outclassed when down the field off a stiff mark in a handicap hurdle over 2m at Sandown last time; had been in good form prior and comes from a stable in form but has a bit to find on chase debut. Dual hurdle winner; brings plenty of promise to chasing career as he has the build for it. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

JOSH THE BOSS lost nothing in defeat in a Warwick match and was then gifted a walkover at Newbury a couple of days later. He was a useful hurdler who should make his mark in this sphere and remains on an attractive rating. Southoftheborder and Hecouldbetheone have the edge in chasing experience but the biggest threat may emerge in the shape of fencing newcomer Wolf Moon, who took well to the jumping game last term and didn't give his true running in a valuable event at Sandown.

This could go to WOLF MOON who has the scope to do better over fences and he did okay over hurdles.

1st (7) (7/4 +7%)Madame Luna |
7/4(+7%) | (7) Madame Luna 7/4, Won a mares' hurdle at Wetherby over 2m by 1¼l last time. Returning from a long layoff and wears a tongue-tie for the first time. Effective at 2m and acts on soft and good to firm ground. The form of that win has been franked and, while this is tougher, she may not be finished improving. Impressed with her jumping in winning two small-field junior hurdles last season. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (5/1 +29%)Mighty Fleur |
5/1(+29%) | (4) Mighty Fleur 5/1, Still green and made mistakes when second, beaten 4¼l, in a maiden hurdle over 2m5f at Ludlow last time, when possibly needing the run. Wears a hood for the first time. Effective around 2½m and acts on good ground. Should come on for that latest outing. Her Ludlow conqueror last time showed a good level of form in bumpers; now hooded. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (10/3 +17%)Scavengers Reign |
10/3(+17%) | (6) Scavengers Reign 10/3, Refused in a novice hurdle over 2m4f at Huntingdon last time. Effective up to 2m4f and acts on good ground. Her chance is respected after a promising hurdles debut. Unseated midrace after ducking left last time; has form claims if getting round. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (10/3 +5%)Crystal Days |
10/3(+5%) | (3) Crystal Days 10/3, Outpaced but shaped very promisingly when third, beaten 7l, in a maiden hurdle over 2m at Uttoxeter on latest start. Trainer in form. Effective at 2m, likely to stay further, and acts on good ground. Progressive in bumpers and her hurdle debut form has been franked; should be winning soon. Bumper winner who chased home good opposition in a maiden for mares at Uttoxeter. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) (14/1 -17%)Nevershedatear |
14/1(-17%) | (8) Nevershedatear 14/1, Made a very promising debut when winning a maiden over 3m at Borris House by 2l. Returning from a long layoff and needs to improve to figure here. The horse she beat in her Irish point is now looking very ordinary under rules. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (16/1 -60%)Just An Artist |
16/1(-60%) | (2) Just An Artist 16/1, Improved for debut experience when winning a maiden hurdle at Perth over 2m by 5l last time. Effective at 2m and acts on soft ground. May have more to offer over further with form franked. Left the form of her first two races behind to win comfortably at Perth. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) (22/1 -38%)Reina Del Mar |
22/1(-38%) | (1) Reina Del Mar 22/1, Too keen in front under a penalty when fourth, beaten 9l, in a novice hurdle over 2m at Uttoxeter last time. Returning from a break. Effective from 2m to 2½m and acts on soft and good ground. Has been in form since moving from Ireland. 2m4f winner who was outpaced back at 2m latest; since had wind surgery. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (50/1 -52%)Miss Denver |
50/1(-52%) | (5) Miss Denver 50/1, Found little on debut when well beaten in a mares' bumper over 2m at Warwick on only start. Returning from a long layoff and has plenty to find. Tailed off in a bumper but this mare is well bred and open to improvement now jumping. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

MADAME LUNA made it two from two with an all-the-way victory at Wetherby back in February and had a couple of subsequent winners behind her, including a filly who has struck twice since. The Harry Derham-trained four-year-old looks quite a nice prospect and can maintain her unbeaten record, possibly at the chief expense of Mighty Fleur, who probably bumped into a decent mare at Ludlow. Reina Del Mar has had wind surgery during a break, while Scavengers Reign and Crystal Days are two more to consider in a competitive affair.

Ben Pauling's CRYSTAL DAYS is making good progress and they were useful mares she chased home at Uttoxeter.

11/2(+27%) | (3) Serious Chat 11/2, Scored by 3l off 114 over 2m6f at Stratford on his penultimate start; made too much use of when fifth, beaten 26l off 119 last time; effective from 2½m to 3m and had been progressive until that run. Improvement has come over further and at this trip one or two others appeal more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (85/40 -6%)High Dancer |
85/40(-6%) | (6) High Dancer 85/40, Had every chance and needed the run when fourth, beaten 7l, in a handicap hurdle over 2m4f at Wetherby latest; effective around 2½m and acts on good ground; in fair form and should benefit from that outing. Progressed for James Ewart and his recent Wetherby run could have been needed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (9/4 +32%)Kalium |
9/4(+32%) | (2) Kalium 9/4, Travelled strongly and improved when stepped up in trip back on better ground, gamely repelling challengers to land a handicap by a neck off 120 at Newbury last time; returns from a long layoff; enjoys leading; effective 2-2¼m; steadily progressive and may stay further. Made it 3-5 over hurdles when overcoming a bad late mistake at Newbury; up 5lb. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (7/1 -40%)Bold Light |
7/1(-40%) | (1) Bold Light 7/1, Needed the run when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle over 2m4f at Aintree last time; had been in good form beforehand; effective at 2½m and generally consistent prior to that effort. Won a maiden and two handicaps last season; respected despite a quiet comeback run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (10/1 +29%)Light Fandango |
10/1(+29%) | (7) Light Fandango 10/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle over 2m4f at Southwell latest after a long absence; effective from 2m to 2½m and acts on soft and good ground; looks on a stiff mark following the layoff. Still unexposed but others in here are likely to be fitter after his layoff. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (16/1 +43%)Ballygeary |
16/1(+43%) | (5) Ballygeary 16/1, Found little when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle over 2m at Wetherby last time; wears a tongue-tie for the first time; effective at 2½m and acts on soft and good ground; on a workable mark but unreliable. Close up at Market Rasen in July but not at that level the last twice. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (11/1 -100%)Diplomatie |
11/1(-100%) | (4) Diplomatie 11/1, Returned to form under a positive ride at a sharp track in first-time cheekpieces when second, beaten 7½l, in a handicap hurdle over 2m5f at Ludlow latest; effective around 2½m, acts on good to soft, good, and good to firm ground; consistent performer. Runner-up in two of her last three handicaps following a spell in Jersey. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

KALIUM enjoyed a profitable first season over obstacles, winning three of his five starts, including on his most recent appearance at Newbury. He was successful on debut and went close on his first run last year, so is fancied to pick up where he left off. High Dancer is fancied to improve from his recent effort at Wetherby, while Serious Chat is a contender if jumping better than he did at Bangor.

The 5yo HIGH DANCER was sent off favourite at Wetherby but nonetheless shaped as though that race would bring him on.

1st (3) (11/10 +20%)Fierce Warrior |
11/10(+20%) | (3) Fierce Warrior 11/10, Ran to form and was suited by a positive ride when dropped in trip on chase debut, beaten 2¼l off 111 over 2m3f at Sedgefield last time. Effective at around 2½m, acts on good to soft and good ground, and has more to come over fences now stepping back up in trip. 3m winner over hurdles and recent second on chase debut came at 2m3f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (9/4 +36%)Red Delta |
9/4(+36%) | (4) Red Delta 9/4, Scored by 5l off 108 at Sedgefield on his penultimate start but was outpaced and below form when fifth, beaten 14l off 113 last time. Suited by 3m+ and needs good ground; still early days in handicaps and looks fairly treated on hunter chase form. Returning to further (from 3m) could help but last run was disappointing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (8/1 -60%)Broomfields Cave |
8/1(-60%) | (1) Broomfields Cave 8/1, Well handicapped off an unchanged mark, he improved when landing a handicap by a neck off 117 at Newton Abbot last time. Absent for a very lengthy period but effective at 3m+, acts on good to soft and good ground, and was progressing over fences when last seen. A winner off this mark when last seen in June 2024; market should be helpful. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (10/1 -43%)No Regrets |
10/1(-43%) | (5) No Regrets 10/1, Returned to form when back up in trip under a positive ride, beaten 2¼l off 106 over 3m at Hexham last time. Prefers 3m, acts on soft and good ground, and looks on a fair mark if building on that recent revival. Best effort for a while when second at Hexham (3m, good; headgear removed). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (13/2 -30%)Snowy Evening |
13/2(-30%) | (2) Snowy Evening 13/2, Made a couple of mistakes but ran to form when 23l third in a handicap chase over 2m3f here on his latest run. Absent for a very lengthy period; effective from 2½m to 3m, acts on good ground, and has an excellent course record with a fair mark if retaining ability. Likes this track; on a good mark after his long absence which does temper enthusiasm. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

FIERCE WARRIOR had to settle for second on his chasing debut at Sedgefield, but that creditable performance looks even better in hindsight because he was giving away lumps of weight to a horse who has gone in again since. The six-year-old is Nicky Henderson's only runner on the card and has scope for plenty of improvement. Snowy Evening and Broomfields Cave have good form to recommend them, but both return from lengthy layoffs so course scorer Red Delta might be more dangerous, as long as he puts a subsequent Wetherby no-show behind him.

The 6yo FIERCE WARRIOR appeals most after a solid first chase run over an inadequate trip.

1st (3) (2/1 +43%)Le Yacht |
2/1(+43%) | (3) Le Yacht 2/1, Short of room and had too much to do when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Aintree last time; effective around 2m and handles cut; progressive and should come on for that run. His 15l defeat at Aintree (winner bolted up) wasn't too shoddy for one so inexperienced. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (13/2 -30%)Parramount |
13/2(-30%) | (1) Parramount 13/2, Needed the run when beaten 8 1/4l in a handicap over 1m6f at Wolverhampton last time. Well treated on old form in this sphere but hasn't shown it for some time. Three hurdle wins and could show the benefit of a recent run on the AW. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (10/1 +29%)Klitschko |
10/1(+29%) | (4) Klitschko 10/1, Ran to form when a 15l third in a handicap hurdle over 2m4f at Sedgefield most recently; effective from 2m to 2 1/2m and only 1lb above his last winning mark; could build on that reappearance down in trip. Questionable what he achieved when third in a small field at Sedgefield last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (5/1 -67%)Charging Thunder |
5/1(-67%) | (5) Charging Thunder 5/1, Ran to form when fourth beaten 4 1/4l in a handicap hurdle over 2m at Huntingdon last time; acts on a sound surface and effective from 14f to 16f; a consistent dual-purpose performer, unexposed in handicap hurdles and may prefer a flat track. Fair fourth at Huntingdon latest; usually wears cheekpieces and a visor returns. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (5/1 -50%)Aviemore |
5/1(-50%) | (2) Aviemore 5/1, Made too much use of when well beaten in a handicap hurdle over 2m at Chepstow last time; effective from 10f to 12f on the Flat and around 2m over hurdles, appreciates some give; juvenile form has been strongly franked and could bounce back. Below par Flat/jumps the last twice; did well as a juvenile hurdler, though. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) (5/1 +23%)Takeit Easy |
5/1(+23%) | (7) Takeit Easy 5/1, Did plenty early when fourth beaten 7l in a handicap hurdle over 2m at Wetherby last time; effective over 2m and acts on good to soft; not in the same form since a long layoff but the handicapper is easing his burden. Clearly needed his return from a long absence and was better at Wetherby. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (8) (12/1 -9%)Maple |
12/1(-9%) | (8) Maple 12/1, Below form up in grade off a revised mark and needed the run when finishing down the field in a handicap hurdle over 2m at Ayr most recently; in good form prior; effective over 2m and acts on soft and good ground; progressive until the latest run. A winner in May but dropped out to be beaten a long way in his comeback race. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

LE YACHT may not have benefited from the last two hurdles being taken out on his first run since February when making his handicap debut at Aintree. The four-year-old made some headway before weakening in the closing stages and that run is expected to bring him forward. Parramount had a recent spin at Wolverhampton and is of interest back over timber, while Charging Thunder's fourth at Huntingdon suggests he is capable of a decent showing.

Although beaten 15l at Aintree, LE YACHT (nap) wasn't far behind the placed horses and that was a respectable handicap debut.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

LUNA GRACE made a promising enough start to her career when third at Market Rasen last month and the daughter of Kameko is taken to put that experience to best use. Ashburton makes plenty of appeal on paper being related to bumper winners and coming from a yard with a fine record in this sphere. Others to note are Mariah's Dream, Antheia and Frenati.

Toby Bulgin won this 12 months ago and for ANTHEIA he has secured the services of Brian Hughes.
Ths is the racecard key.
