KARA SACRE makes a lot of sense in the opener. Paul Nolan's charge won a point-to-point impressively prior to finishing a creditable second on his hurdling bow at Naas last month and he should go very close now sporting a first-time hood. Ivybrook finished second behind Romeo Coolio here in November and is a player on that form, while Big Dee has won a bumper at this venue and now tackles hurdles for the first time.

Preference is for the top rated IVYBROOK who has shown enough, including at this venue, to suggest he can win a maiden hurdle.

COYOTE SPIRIT took a step forward on only his second start for the Gordon Elliott yard to justify favouritism in a bumper at Bellewstown last month. The seven-year-old looks to have found an ideal opportunity to get off the mark over hurdles. Fairbanks was victorious in some valuable handicaps on the Flat for Andrew Balding and has to be respected on his first outing over timber for the William Durkan stable. Any market confidence behind Timeless Treaty would be interesting.

The classy Flat performer FAIRBANKS, who got to within 5l of Absurde on his last Flat start, is taken to make a winning hurdles debut

A change of scenery worked the oracle for MALBAS at Fairyhouse last month. He finally opened his account over timber with a cosy success on his first start for Edward Buckley's yard and may well defy a 9lb rise. Tubberfinn Lady can also feature on the back of winning at Kilbeggan in fine style, while Quinn The Eskimo remains unexposed over timber and is preferred to Fort Randall of the remainder.

Fairyhouse winner Malbas has a chance up 8lb but QUINN THE ESKIMO wasn't beaten far that day so he could turn the tables.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (7) (100/1 +33%)There's Always One |
100/1(+33%) | (7) There's Always One 100/1, Yet to show any real signs of ability; virtually no chance Lost action on debut, beaten 123l in a bumper last month, hard to make a case for. |

TIMMY TUESDAY can be excused his heavy defeat over an inadequate extended 2m3f at Punchestown six days ago and he makes grand appeal faced with a stiffer test of stamina. Gordon Elliott's charge had previously finished a cracking second at Aintree and a similar performance may suffice. Stablemate Clodders Dream has something to prove after pulling up at Fairyhouse a fortnight ago, so a bigger threat may emerge from the in-form Topgun Simmy.

Previous course winner TIMMY TUESDAY is well clear on the ratings and a repeat of his Aintree second should be enough to take this

4th (2) (25/1 +0%)Be Positive |
25/1(+0%) | (2) Be Positive 25/1, Well beaten in a maiden hurdle over 3m at Cork latest and very little worthwhile form; hard to fancy Is 0-4 over hurdles, beaten 33l on latest in a maiden hurdle, unlikely to be good enough. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (20/1 -43%)Wowsham |
20/1(-43%) | (6) Wowsham 20/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle over 3m3f at Perth latest; useful in points and hunter chases; not without a chance back over fences 0-4 in chases, has run well in defeat, pulled up after long layoff latest, ground a worry. |

ENCANTO BRUNO returned from a break over C&D last month when proving no match for Pied Piper. That said, Gavin Cromwell's charge doesn't face a rival of that calibre on this occasion and is expected to come out on top. Baltic Bird ran with credit in a Ballinrobe handicap hurdle and is an interesting recruit to chasing, while Big Stage is likely to be competitive dropping back in trip after finishing fifth at Navan in March.

It might pay to side with the more experienced BIG STAGE (nap) who will appreciate the drop in trip and return to a sounder surface

1st (4) (5/1 -25%)Quest With Speed |
5/1(-25%) | (4) Quest With Speed 5/1, Comfortably held in a handicap hurdle over 2m5f at Limerick last time; not proven trip; may contend if recapturing back over fences Has run well over fences; not a bad hurdle run last time and could be running into form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (3/1 +14%)Dorans Law |
3/1(+14%) | (5) Dorans Law 3/1, Pulled up in a handicap chase at Fairyhouse latest; returning from a break and much better effort penultimate start; could threaten refreshed Poor on soft ground last time but could go well back on a sound surface after a break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) (5/1 -43%)Smitty Bacall |
5/1(-43%) | (8) Smitty Bacall 5/1, Well treated at weights when landing a handicap by 3 1/2l off 85 here last time; reliable type and should go well Won over C&D last time after a break; 7lb rise was enough and this is a stronger race. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (8/1 +43%)Fairyhill Run |
8/1(+43%) | (6) Fairyhill Run 8/1, Travelled well but found little fourth beaten 27l in a handicap chase here latest; enjoys making it; bit to find and to prove Was beaten 27l by Sea Aster over C&D last time and others preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (4/1 -33%)Sea Aster |
4/1(-33%) | (1) Sea Aster 4/1, Suited by the testing ground when scored by 3/4l off 110 here penultimate start; up in trip; contender having unseated late last time Won over C&D two starts back but raised 7lb; unseated on unsuitably soft ground since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (15/2 +53%)Hardwired |
15/2(+53%) | (3) Hardwired 15/2, Below par well beaten in a handicap chase over 2m1f at Navan latest; generally out of form; hard to fancy Out of form in the last season and need to see more spark before getting behind. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (13/2 +28%)Look Dont Touch |
13/2(+28%) | (7) Look Dont Touch 13/2, Ran to form fourth beaten 7l in a handicap hurdle over 2m6f here latest; not proven trip; more needed of stiff looking mark Solid hurdles run at this track last time but others make more appeal back over fences. |

A winner over C&D on her penultimate start, SEA ASTER was always going to face a stiff test in the Listed race in which she unseated at Fairyhouse last time. This is more attainable and it could be worth forgiving that mishap. Fellow track-and-trip winner Smitty Bacall is another solid contender, while Quest With Speed and Hardwired should also be competitive.

Preference is for another recent C&D winner in SEA ASTER, who was unsuited by soft ground since that win and this will suit better.

1st (4) (18/1 +18%)Kings Jet |
18/1(+18%) | (4) Kings Jet 18/1, Fourth beaten 6 1/2l in a maiden point over 3m at Stradbally latest; more needed to win this Yet to score in six point starts so has his work cut out against more accomplished rivals. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (8/1 -23%)Sampoet |
8/1(-23%) | (6) Sampoet 8/1, 3l third in a hunter chase over 3m at Cork most recent run; steadily progressive; one to consisder Third in a Cork hunters chase last time over 3m; can be a player if building upon that run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (6/4 +57%)Bold Fury |
6/4(+57%) | (3) Bold Fury 6/4, Did not get a clear run second beaten 2l in a hunter chase over 2m4f here latest; up in trip; threat Beaten 2l over a shorter trip here last time; hood is retained and goes on the shortlist. |

17/2(-89%) | (8) Justlikejessejames 17/2, Second beaten 3l in a hunter chase over 3m at Cork latest; steadily progressive; should contend Solid runner-up on hunter chase debut at Cork; tongue-tie retained; chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (2/1 -23%)My Life Be Like |
2/1(-23%) | (5) My Life Be Like 2/1, Yard has won 2 of last 4 runnings of race; won a Winner Of Two Point at Loughanmore over 3m by 4 1/2l last time; tricky to evaluate the form, but market will guide Has won his last three points; lacks experience but has to be respected on rules debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) (7/1 -17%)Suttons Hill |
7/1(-17%) | (7) Suttons Hill 7/1, Second beaten a neck in a point over 3m at Ballysteen latest; probably needs to improve to figure Runner-up last time in a winners' point and will need to find improvement to score. |

Having recorded a hat-trick between the flags in recent months, MY LIFE BE LIKE could be one to follow on his Rules debut. The son of Getaway has made light work of his opposition and he's marginally preferred to Bold Fury. The six-year-old arrives on the back of a good second over an extended 2m3f at this course and the step up in trip is unlikely to prevent another bold bid. Sampoet and Justlikejessejames complete the shortlist.

A fine runner-up over a shorter trip at this track last time, BOLD FURY can go one better as long as he settles well enough.

7/1(-40%) | (8) Test The Market 7/1, Fourth beaten 12l in a 4yo bumper at Ballinrobe latest; top yard, should improve and go close Was 5l in front of Leopard D'Irlande at Ballinrobe but it can be closer between them today. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (9) (5/1 +38%)The Iron Chef |
5/1(+38%) | (9) The Iron Chef 5/1, 7,000 euros Let The Lion Roar gelding; full-brother to Dripsey Moon, useful at 20f; tough enough task on debut A sibling to two winners over further but could run well on debut. |

7th (1) (28/1 -40%)Build A Bridge |
28/1(-40%) | (1) Build A Bridge 28/1, Blue Bresil gelding; half-brother to Farmers Lodge, very useful at 19f; dam very useful at 14f; may need the experience By a leading NH sire and a smart damline; worth a market check. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (4) (9/4 0%)Leopard D'irlande |
9/4(0%) | (4) Leopard D'irlande 9/4, Well beaten in a 4yo bumper at Ballinrobe only start; ought to come on for that race and may contend Beaten fav' on debut, 17l behind; should be sharper for that run and can go closer today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (6) (125/1 -150%)Raleagh Scope |
125/1(-150%) | (6) Raleagh Scope 125/1, Well beaten in a maiden hurdle over 2m4f at Fairyhouse only start; all to do Tailed-off in a Fairyhouse maiden hurdle on debut and needs to make enormous improvement. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (10) (28/1 -75%)Inspired Act |
28/1(-75%) | (10) Inspired Act 28/1, Fell in a maiden point ver 3m at Lisronagh latest; back in trip; off a short-break; all to prove Fell on debut in a heavy ground point in February; can do better for local yard. |

TEST THE MARKET accounted for Leopard D'irlande (seventh) when showing a good amount of improvement to finish fourth at Ballinrobe last month and should have more improvement in him. Gordon Elliott's four-year-old might only need to reproduce that level of form in order to get off the mark. Jodoro is related to three French Flat winners and it would be interesting if the market speaks in his favour on debut.

It seems safest to go with LEOPARD D'IRLANDE who did too much from the front when favourite at Ballinrobe on debut.
Ths is the racecard key.
