Having built on his debut seventh over C&D when finishing a close-up second at Tipperary earlier this month, JACK THE BACHELOR could be poised to open his account. Stephen Thorne's colt found only a smart rival too strong and this contest looks slightly easier. Namiid was behind the selection in third and isn't taken lightly, although a bigger threat may emerge from recent Naas runner-up Howd'yadoit.

MONTE VISTA has landed the plum draw in stall 1 and she may be the answer in first-time cheekpieces for her in form yard

AN LAOCHMOR was only a neck behind the runner-up Realtin Fantasy when he was a closing third over 5f at Tipperary a fortnight ago. Dropped 1lb and with Dylan Browne McMonagle notably taking over in the saddle, the four-year-old can reverse the form on this occasion. Spirit Of Eagles and Havana Notion are a couple of others with strong each-way chances based on their peak efforts.

Value may be had in LAKOTA LADY, who ran really well on the disadvantaged far side at Naas last time and who should relish 5f

Summer Is Tomorrow was left with plenty to do when finishing fifth at Listowel last month and better is expected on this occasion. Jordi Bear sports a first-time tongue-tie and is capable of a decent showing, but the vote goes to SLAUDEEN. The son of Starspangledbanner was too keen when sixth at the Curragh in May but, provided he settles better, along with this step up in trip, he may take a step forward to strike.

KENSINGTON LANE (nap) caught the eye making up lots of late ground at the Curragh and this longer trip should be right up her street

Angelo Pio faces a tougher assignment as he bid for a C&D treble, but Joseph O'Brien's colt is clearly on the upgrade and cannot be ruled out with any confidence. However, FERVENT is equally progressive having landed a double in fine style at Fairyhouse last month. The three-year-old son of Elzaam appeared to score with plenty left in the tank on his latest start, giving the strong impression there is more to come. Keilah and Tartaraghan look the pick of the remainder.

Angelo Pio and FERVENT hold obvious claims with preference for the latter who looked like he still had a fair bit in hand last time

Maxwell Smart has hit the woodwork on each of his last three racecourse appearances and is entitled to plenty of respect, but it is DOCTOR GRACE that shades preference. The Buratino mare kept on well into second over 1m2f at Navan when last seen in April but this new trip is worth exploring, and she's taken to go one place better. Beautiful Chaos should not be overlooked back on the level, while Lady Kai is another that needs to be taken seriously following a promising seasonal return.

LADY KAI makes plenty of appeal on the back of a promising Gowran comeback run and is preferred to Desert Friend

HEATHER displayed a willing attitude to score narrowly from a subsequent winner at Ballinrobe last month, and a 6lb rise for that success may not be enough to prevent her from going in again. Almost five lengths behind her on that occasion was No Niki No (third), who has improved since to score at Tramore, while Letiza is another to note on the back of a taking success over shorter here last time out. The consistent Fortuna Vera completes the shortlist, along with Ina Mina, who has a 12lb rise to contend with for her recent victory.

The Ballinrobe win of HEATHER has been franked since and she is open to more improvement so gets the vote

Having only gave way in the closing stages when finishing third over an extended 1m6f at Bellewstown 15 days ago, this drop in distance could prove fruitful for TRUBSHAW. Gabriella Hill can now claim her full 10lb claim and a breakthrough victory might be on the cards for Henry De Bromhead's gelding. Recent Dundalk third Ranting And Raven is a potential improver stepping up further in distance and is feared most, ahead of fellow in-form rival Bear Creek.

Following a promising handicap debut at Limerick, BEAR CREEK should appreciate this slightly longer trip and greater stamina test
Ths is the racecard key.
