Having run out a ready winner of his sole outing between the flags, Some Song requires a market check on his Rules bow. However, fellow point-to-point scorer THEFLYINGKING supplemented two runner-up efforts in bumpers with a triumph at Wexford in March and is more compelling on his hurdling debut. His stablemate Kazansky and Kaiser De Chanay are others to consider, while Mount Mandela should put his experience in this discipline to good use.

Gordon Elliott has dominated this race of late and can score again with THEFLYINGKING

Successful on her only go over this trip at Wexford in August and a creditable third most recently at Tipperary, JETAWAY NANA could provide some value in this competitive affair, with the talented Eoin Staples claiming 7lb. A taking winner on his first start for his new stable at Limerick, Midleton Rare is entitled to be thereabouts, as is Cher Tara, who was a respectable third last time out at Perth. Completing the shortlist are Ar Aghaidh and Gypsy Poet.

Hard to enthuse over too many of these, perhaps recent Limerick winner MIDLETON RARE can take another step forward upped in trip

14:02 Down Royal (Class 1) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

A Grade 3 bumper winner at Punchestown in April, CARRIGMOORNASPRUCE returned the facile winner at Listowel on her hurdling debut. Fluent over the obstacles, Declan Queally's charge looks a useful recruit to this sphere and a bold bid is anticipated. Blue Waters also won in fine style at Listowel on her first start over timber and could prove competitive, while both Cameletta Vega and Pampar Lady are others worthy of a second look.

Hard to look beyond the classy CARRIGMOORNASPRUCE (nap) after her impressive hurdles debut at Listowel, form franked since

14:37 Down Royal (Class 1) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

It is very hard to oppose THE YELLOW CLAY, who bolted up in the Grade 1 Lawlor's Of Naas Novice Hurdle in January before finding only Champion Hurdle favourite The New Lion too good in the Turners at Cheltenham. His subsequent effort at Punchestown can easily be forgiven and Gordon Elliott's charge clearly tops the shortlist. Stablemate Casheldale Lad may well be the main danger after his Listowel success last month, while Bacchanalian is the pick of the remainder.

A race monopolised by Gordon Elliott in recent years, THE YELLOW CLAY is marginally preferred to stablemate Casheldale Lad

SOMEONE'S WISH made a winning return over hurdles at Downpatrick three weeks ago and, despite being 4lb higher than when second in this race 12 months ago, he could go in again. The son of Buratino should still have more to offer over the larger obstacles, while it is noteworthy that Jack Kennedy opts to ride him ahead of stablemate St Faz. Handicap-debutant Seskin Flash merits respect, as does the in-form Sayitfirst.

Conditions look ideal for Darren Collins' in-form mare SAYITFIRST and she can make amends for her narrow Tramore defeat last time out

Having won a Grade 1 over timber before placing in the Supreme, ROMEO COOLIO is the clear pick. The six-year-old was second in the Top Novices' Hurdle at Aintree on his final start last season and he is likely to play a big role in this sphere if taking to fences. Koktail Divin progressed well as a novice hurdler and may have more to offer now switched to the larger obstacles. Where's My Jet edges out Patter Merchant to be best of the rest.

Gordon Elliott has won this with some top performers and ROMEO COOLIO looks the part on his novice hurdle form

Gordon Elliott often starts one of his better bumper prospects at this meeting and SKERRY HILL leaps off the page as an impressive point-to-point winner who was bought for 205,000 pounds at the Cheltenham Festival sale. He appears the yard's primary hope, although Panjandrum also struck between the flags and must not be dismissed lightly. Hopeful Hero has experience on his side and will be waiting to pounce if the Elliott runners fail to come up to scratch.

CHICHESTER PARK gets the vote. There was lots to like about his Listowel maiden hurdle third and Derek O'Connor is a notable booking
