17:55 Epsom Downs (Class 4) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

VICTORIOUS ONE has finished runner-up on both starts to date, including when an odds-on favourite at Salisbury. The application of blinkers and that experience under his belt may prove enough for Ralph Beckett's colt to get off the mark. Sovereign Wealth is from the family of top-class sprinter Big Evs and the 450,000gns purchase is expected to play a leading role in proceedings, while Big Song might step forward from his debut effort.

Having shown strong form when runner-up on both starts, VICTORIOUS ONE gets the nod ahead of 450,000gns newcomer Sovereign Wealth.

18:30 Epsom Downs (Class 5) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

TEX didn't appear to see out 1m2f when third here at the start of the month and the drop in trip presents the son of Dark Angel with a fine opportunity to gain a first career success. Platinum Prince was inconvenienced by a slow start when bidding for a Goodwood double and it wouldn't be a surprise to see him bounce back. Others to consider are Local Bay and Buy The Dip.

The 3yo JIFF'S ARMY has run really well on both previous visits to Epsom and earns the vote. Tex is feared most.

Oj Lifestyle went agonisingly close here last week and commands plenty of respect. That being said, the five-year-old pulled very hard and stepping back up in trip might prove to be his undoing if racing in a similar manner. With that in mind, ZARAKERJACK gets the vote having improved on his last couple of starts since being switched to turf and handicap company. River Alwen got his head back in front at Lingfield, and Giselles Defence can't be ruled out of a trappy little affair either.

A slow pace was the undoing of ZARAKERJACK at Windsor and he could have the same problem today, but this 3yo still has plenty of upside.

19:35 Epsom Downs (Class 5) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Gordon Grey claimed this prize last season and also won on his latest start over hurdles at Worcester. He can go close, but races off 6lb higher than he did 12 months ago so the vote goes to his stable companion SECRET BEACH. A comfortable winner at York last week, he is due to go up 7lb for future contests and is hard to oppose if he remains at the same level. Pride Of Nepal is also of interest from the bottom of the handicap following his recent Pontefract second.

It is hard to get away from SECRET BEACH, who won an apprentice handicap by just over 2l at York last Friday and escapes a penalty today

20:05 Epsom Downs (Class 4) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

CRIMSON SPIRIT is the obvious pick as the four-year-old looks for his hat-trick after victories over this trip at Salisbury and Brighton. As the only C&D winner in the line-up, that maiden triumph in 2023 ticks an important box. A 2lb rise for a neck success last month may not be enough to stop him, although Revolutionise finished second that day and is entitled to make a race of it again. Mafnood ran on well here after a slow start last time out and he also makes the shortlist.

The progressive 4yo CRIMSON SPIRIT (nap) can complete a hat-trick. He had just a neck to spare at Brighton but still has more to offer.

20:40 Epsom Downs (Class 6) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Apple Of My Eye is interesting after keeping on into fourth at Lingfield over 6f, and a mark of 63 seems fair enough ahead of her handicap debut. Manton Road won four times on the all-weather earlier in the year and is gradually slipping back down the handicap, but APPLE'S ANGEL is the pick. She kept on well to win at Lingfield over 5f and, if she gets the extra distance, she looks well weighted off a mark of 51 and with Jack Callan claiming 7lb.

Play Me can give another good account but this can go to APPLE OF MY EYE, who should appreciate the return to 7f on handicap debut.

About U.K Horse Racing

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.

There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.

The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.

Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.

In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.

Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
