1st (2) (10/1 +0%)Runswick |
10/1(+0%) | (2) Runswick 10/1, Showed some progress from debut, tiring late when beaten 7l in a novice over 8f at Windsor. Bred for middle distances and may need more time. Step forward when sixth at Windsor (1m, soft) ten days ago; drop back in trip should help. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (5/6 +0%)St Anton |
5/6(+0%) | (4) St Anton 5/6, Very green but showed plenty of promise when third, beaten 3l, in a Newmarket (July) novice on debut. Effective at 7f and that debut form looks strong. Should improve plenty for the experience and can win soon. Promise when third at Newmarket (7f, good to firm) 20 days ago; sets the standard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (6/5 +70%)Edwin Hubble |
6/5(+70%) | (1) Edwin Hubble 6/5, Green and not knocked about when beaten 6l in a novice at Newbury on debut. Trainer in form. Likely to want 8-10f in time and should improve markedly with experience. 18-1 and late gains for seventh of ten (7f, good to firm) on debut; a likely improver. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (40/1 -21%)Sail On Sailor |
40/1(-21%) | (3) Sail On Sailor 40/1, Too keen in front but travelled well for a time before finishing 10l down in a maiden at Kempton on debut. Effective at 7f and may improve a little if settling. Raced freely when sixth on debut (7f, AW; 80-1); will need a big step forward to figure. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (150/1 +0%)Parole Board |
150/1(+0%) | (6) Parole Board 150/1, Never involved on debut and well beaten in a 6f maiden at Lingfield. Yet to show anything. In rear throughout when 50-1 and beaten 14l on her introduction (6f, AW) eight days ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (125/1 -89%)Saturday Again |
125/1(-89%) | (7) Saturday Again 125/1, Produced a modest effort when beaten 9l in a 6f maiden at Lingfield last time. Bred for 10f or further and has a good bit to prove. Very modest form in two AW starts (7f/6f), watching brief on turf debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Red Tsarina built on her debut second to justify favouritism at Chelmsford, but she might find it tough under her penalty against ST ANTON. Richard Hannon's colt showed ability when finishing third on his introduction at Newmarket and it would be no surprise to see him take a big step forward. Edwin Hubble changed hands for 90,000gns as a yearling and is probably better than his seventh at Newbury.

St Anton (second choice) sets a solid standard on his debut third but EDWIN HUBBLE may well improve past him.

Suited by 7f and probably acts on any going, but mark looks stiff. Came clear for C&D win in July but went up 10lb and well held since; same mark today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (9/2 +10%)Valley Ofthe Kings |
9/2(+10%) | (3) Valley Ofthe Kings 9/2, Ran to form when second, beaten 4 1/2l in a handicap here last time. Effective at 6f-7f on a sound surface. In good form and not fully exposed. Had only four runs, just edging Mafnood for 2nd on handicap debut over C&D; could improve. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (10) (28/1 +15%)Land Of Magic |
28/1(+15%) | (10) Land Of Magic 28/1, Another poor effort when beaten 9l in a Brighton handicap last time and generally out of form. Suited by 6f-7f and acts on any going. Has been boiling over of late. Winner of one of two C&D starts but in ordinary form since Lingfield win in May. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (12) (50/1 -25%)Otago |
50/1(-25%) | (12) Otago 50/1, Stable has won the last three runnings of this race. Never involved when beaten 6 1/4l in a Brighton handicap last time and generally out of form. Suited by 7f, acts on any going, likes soft and is a Brighton specialist, but looking unwilling. Two C&D wins; ground too quick in 2024; won 2 soft-ground races last autumn; rain helpful. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (4) (18/1 -80%)Arctician |
18/1(-80%) | (4) Arctician 18/1, Quickened and ran to form with a positive ride, winning a handicap by 3/4l off 71 over 8f at Lingfield last time. Suited by 7f and AW, just about stays 1m. Freshened by a layoff but the handicapper may intervene. Seven AW wins, including 1m latest; 0-13 on turf; well held in this race in 2022 and 2024. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (8) (13/2 -30%)Cypriot Diaspora |
13/2(-30%) | (8) Cypriot Diaspora 13/2, Raised 5lb but improved on recent form when making all, landing a handicap by 1l off 68 at Ffos Las last time. Trainer in form. Effective at 6f-7f, suited by cut and acts on good. In form and still on a workable mark. Won last 2 starts at Ffos Las (about 7f); successful off this mark in 2024; can go well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (11) (12/1 +40%)Future Cutlet |
12/1(+40%) | (11) Future Cutlet 12/1, May have found the ground too quick when beaten 7l in a handicap here last time. Usually consistent and returns from a short break. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (1) (7/1 -40%)Mafnood |
7/1(-40%) | (1) Mafnood 7/1, Ran to form when third, beaten 5l in a handicap here down in trip on latest run. Effective from 7f to 10f. On a long losing run but the handicapper has eased the mark and he is running into form. Some good form in defeat this year, including C&D, and should be thereabouts. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Cypriot Diaspora completed a C&D double at Ffos Las and is likely to have her supporters, but a further 3lb rise might open the door for VALLEY OFTHE KINGS. Dylan Cunha's four-year-old had Mafnood just behind when filling the runner-up spot in this grade over C&D and may have more to offer on just his second handicap outing. With a similar performance, he could be the one to beat.

Cypriot Diaspora has hat-trick hopes but STENMARK made a winning start for his new yard on the AW and can improve further.

4/1(+43%) | (2) Double Red 4/1, May have found the ground too soft when beaten 9 1/4l in a handicap at Sandown last time. Effective at 10f, suited by a sound surface, may not handle soft; mark looks about right. Creditable third (good to firm) in August; poor effort (soft) latest & wouldn't want rain. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (20/1 -67%)Prince Rasam |
20/1(-67%) | (4) Prince Rasam 20/1, Needed the run and went well to a point before being beaten 6 1/4l in a handicap at Lingfield last time. Effective at 10f on AW, could build on reappearance. Beat a good one on 2yo debut but hasn't gone on; watch the market on this stable debut. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (7/1 +22%)Questionable |
7/1(+22%) | (3) Questionable 7/1, Ran to form when beaten 5l in a handicap here last time. Generally out of form; effective 8-10f, suited by cut, acts on good. In moderate form but handicapper relenting. Poor April return followed by two fifth-place finishes; might be running into form though. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (22/1 -57%)Guendolen |
22/1(-57%) | (6) Guendolen 22/1, Never involved when beaten 8 1/4l in a handicap at Brighton last time. Effective at 10f on good to firm and good, wants a decent pace to aim at; inconsistent in handicaps. Convincing win on return (1m2f, good); not matched since and beat one home ten days ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (9) (4/1 +50%)Imperial Cult |
4/1(+50%) | (9) Imperial Cult 4/1, Won this last year and ran to form when beaten 2l off 59 over 12f at Lingfield last time. Effective 9-12f, likes give, acts on AW; goes well at Epsom and on a decent mark. Won this last year off 3lb higher; back in form, including here, of late; big player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (1) (11/1 -57%)Didaar |
11/1(-57%) | (1) Didaar 11/1, Bit too keen in front but ran to form when beaten 3/4l off 69 over 8f at Ffos Las last time. Effective on good to firm, good, and soft, suited by 10f; maiden in decent form. Mixed handicap form but respectable third (1m) 29 days ago; stays this trip; thereabouts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (8) (15/2 +0%)Mrembo |
15/2(+0%) | (8) Mrembo 15/2, Returned to form when beaten 1 1/4l off 60 at Brighton last time. Enjoys making it; effective at 10f, acts on soft but suited by fast ground. In good form but has never won off a mark this high. 3rd in this last year; made all at Bath in May; solid 3rd (also 1m2f) latest; same mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (11) (22/1 -144%)Irezumi |
22/1(-144%) | (11) Irezumi 22/1, No obvious excuse when 9l third in a handicap over 12f at Brighton on most recent run. Suited by 12/13f and fast ground, poor on all starts AW; in form. 2nd in this headgear combination three weeks ago; stayed on for 3rd latest; up in grade. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Roman Secret hasn't run badly in any of her four appearances for the Kevin Frost stable and should remain competitive off a workable mark. Didaar made the frame over a mile at Ffos Las last time and is respected, but IREZUMI gets the vote. The five-year-old has finished in the top three in each of his last seven outings, most recently when third over 1m4f at Brighton, and this drop back in trip might work the oracle.

Last year's winner IMPERIAL CULT has returned to form lately and can repeat that success from a 3lb lower mark.

1/1(+55%) | (5) Give It To Me Oj 1/1, Yard won this last year. Keen and improved when landing a bet365 Novices' Championship Final by 3/4l off 137 over 2m at Sandown last time. Returning from a break and potentially thrown in on hurdles form. The pick on balance of form. Did very well over hurdles under Caoilin Quinn in the spring; strongly considered. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (18/1 -13%)Saligo Bay |
18/1(-13%) | (7) Saligo Bay 18/1, Travelled well and returned to form when dropped in trip, scoring by a neck off 98 over 2m1f at Cartmel in June. 28/1(-40%) | (9) Shahbaz 28/1, Scored by 1/2l off 71 at Newbury on his penultimate start. Poorly placed off a steady pace when fourth, beaten 7l off 73 last time. Effective from 10f to 12f, acts on any ground. In decent form and remains well treated on old efforts. Won twice for current yard including 1m4f on penultimate run; will likely need more though. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (16/1 -60%)Dancingwithmyself |
16/1(-60%) | (1) Dancingwithmyself 16/1, Missed the break and was never involved, beaten 10l in a 1m6f handicap at Wolverhampton last time. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

28/1(-40%) | (10) Expressionless 28/1, Ran to form when beaten 3/4l off 69 at Catterick last time. Acts on any ground, possibly now better on fast, effective at 12f and stays 14f. Efforts short of 1m6f have been creditable; close 3rd latest; not dismissed from same mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (14/1 +13%)Big Bear Hug |
14/1(+13%) | (4) Big Bear Hug 14/1, Never involved in a race dominated from the front, well beaten in a handicap here last time. Usually consistent; visor first time. Effective from 10f to 12f, suited by give. Back below last winning mark but in moderate form. Won on stable debut; tailed off in amateur riders' Derby latest; visor/tongue-tie goes on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (12/1 -85%)Balhambar |
12/1(-85%) | (6) Balhambar 12/1, Ran to form when second, beaten 9l in a handicap hurdle over 2m at Stratford latest. Fair mark on hurdles form. Has a chance. Progressive over hurdles since joining this yard mainly under Paul O'Brien; should go well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (3) (14/1 -250%)Educator |
14/1(-250%) | (3) Educator 14/1, Ran to form when fourth, beaten 4 1/2l in a handicap over 11f at Southwell latest. Suited by 12f and a sound surface. In good form. Won first two for yard following wind surgery; respectable efforts since; in the mix. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (2) (10/3 +58%)Westerton |
10/3(+58%) | (2) Westerton 10/3, Poorly placed in a race dominated from the front, beaten 2 1/4l off 84 over 10f at Goodwood last time. Trainer in form; effective at 10f and acts on good to soft and good to firm. In moderate form. Has some useful form, such as 3rd here (1m2f) in June; trip a query; handicapper relenting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (8) (14/1 +0%)Narragansett |
14/1(+0%) | (8) Narragansett 14/1, Keen, ran to form when beaten 3l off 120 over 2m5f at Plumpton last time. Progressive in that sphere. Probably has a bit to come back on the flat. Unexposed on Flat; scored on Irish h'cap debut; winning hurdler for yard; needs respecting. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Tom Cannon knows what it takes to win this race and has a chance again on board Westerton, who ran on strongly when fifth over 1m2f at Goodwood and is 2lb lower now. Expressionless was beaten less than a length in third at Catterick and could also go well, but EDUCATOR is preferred. Fourth in a better race at Southwell, the booking of Brendan Powell by Henrietta Knight seems to suggest they mean business.

Narragansett and Balhambar are respected. GIVE IT TO ME OJ would be giving them a lot more weight over hurdles and gets the nod.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

8/1(+11%) | (9) Jack Langley 8/1, Conceded first run having met trouble but still ran to form when beaten 2 1/4l off 51 at Lingfield last time. Suited by 12f, acts on all-weather and good, though form is in and out. Flopped when favourite for h'cap debut over C&D; two of three runs since respectable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (40/1 -60%)A Swan Song |
40/1(-60%) | (2) A Swan Song 40/1, Still green but ran to form when comfortably held in a maiden over 10f at Windsor last time. Generally out of form, effective at 10f, but current mark looks stiff. Should find life easier h'capping but opening mark doesn't look overly generous. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (10) (33/1 +0%)A Bit Iffy |
33/1(+0%) | (10) A Bit Iffy 33/1, Found little for pressure when beaten 8 1/4l in a classified race at Lingfield last time. Effective at 12f but inconsistent. Good second over C&D in July; gone backwards since so hopes pinned on return to this venue. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (1) (15/2 +0%)Emily Rebecca |
15/2(+0%) | (1) Emily Rebecca 15/2, Scored by a neck off 60 at Salisbury in July; did plenty early when rushed up after missing the break and finished seventh, beaten 4l off 64 last time. Effective 10-12f, consistent and in good form, though mark looks tough. Won over C&D in July; followed up 10 days later; consistent since; not ruled out back here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (5) (11/1 +45%)Soldiers Chorus |
11/1(+45%) | (5) Soldiers Chorus 11/1, Improved up in trip but comfortably held in a novice at Kempton last time. Usually consistent, with trainer in form. Effective at 12f but needs to back up latest improvement in handicaps. All starts on AW; best qualifying run when up to 1m4f one month ago; handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (8) (33/1 +0%)Tenadaay |
33/1(+0%) | (8) Tenadaay 33/1, Needed the run when beaten 4 1/4l in a handicap at Kempton last time. Effective 8-12f. Showed minor promise at 2 but needs to leave reappearance form behind. 28-1 for h'cap debut when always towards rear at Kempton (1m4f, AW) a fortnight ago. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Night Tara has been in good form, with a win at Chelmsford and close-up seconds there and at Southwell, and an extra furlong may well bring about further improvement. However, EMILY REBECCA also drops a class and, with a C&D victory to her name in July, she could prove too good for these, with Alec Voikhansky good value for his 3lb claim. Love You Back is another to consider for last year's winning stable.

It isn't easy to oppose the progressive NIGHT TARA (nap), who promises to relish this stiff 1m4f and is already due to go up 3lb.

4th (3) (10/3 +83%)Mostawaa |
10/3(+83%) | (3) Mostawaa 10/3, Won this last year but did not stay when beaten 8 1/4l in a handicap over 10f at Windsor last time. Generally out of form. Best suited by 1m and likes give in the ground. Won this (soft) off this mark last year; latest forgiven & not dismissed back here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (18/1 -260%)Ombrecell |
18/1(-260%) | (2) Ombrecell 18/1, Quickened and improved but possibly went for home too soon when beaten 2l off 73 over 8f at Kempton last time. Off a short break. Progressive over 1m on AW, untried on turf. Latest form has been franked and he could improve again. Won yard/h'cap debut (1m, AW; 20-1); backed up when 2nd next; absence but unexposed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (8/1 +33%)Blenheim Star |
8/1(+33%) | (7) Blenheim Star 8/1, Ran to form when 6l third in a handicap over 8f at Brighton on most recent run. Suited by 1m and fast ground, goes well at Brighton. In good form. In and out; fairly solid in cheekpieces when 3rd last two starts; below last winning mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) (5/1 -67%)Atlantis Blue |
5/1(-67%) | (1) Atlantis Blue 5/1, Scored by 2 1/4l off 69 at Lingfield three starts ago; completely missed the break and was never competitive when fifth beaten 31l off 75 last time. Significant jockey booking. Suited by 8-9f on fast ground; worth ignoring latest run and could bounce back. Won (9f, good) in July; big run next; forgiven latest; eye-shields replacing hood a query. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (9) (18/1 +10%)Beau Jardine |
18/1(+10%) | (9) Beau Jardine 18/1, Below par again when fourth beaten 7l in a handicap over 8f at Salisbury last time. Effective from 6-8f and acts on any going but continues to regress. Hasn't repeated solid second in the spring; edging down weights but others more persuasive. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (8) (16/1 +0%)Buy The Dip |
16/1(+0%) | (8) Buy The Dip 16/1, Dropped in trip and scored by a neck off 61 over 7f at Lingfield in June. Off a short break. Effective at 7/8f and acts on a sound surface, likes Brighton, Epsom and Lingfield. Has never won off a mark this high. Form since May included a win (7f) in July; latest over C&D suggest he's off the boil. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

ATLANTIS BLUE hit her head in the stalls at Goodwood and failed to get involved. George Baker's mare is better judged on her penultimate effort when second in a warm class 3 over the same C&D and, now dropped into a class 5, she ought to go very close. Ombrecell makes his turf debut having been in good form on the all-weather earlier in the year. He could mount a serious challenge if handling the switch, but recent Sandown victor Tronido might be a bigger threat.

A fair few can be considered but TRONIDO has clicked into gear again and can go back-to-back once more.

1st (3) (9/2 +0%)Pink Azalea |
9/2(+0%) | (3) Pink Azalea 9/2, Scored by 9l off 57 over 8f at Ripon on her penultimate start. Improved again with a positive ride when second, beaten 3l off 73 last time. Suited by a mile and soft ground. Current mark is stiff but she may still be unexposed. Won first two h'caps decisively; 16lb hike but 2nd over C&D next; rain a plus; shortlisted. |

2nd (8) (11/2 +61%)Play Me |
11/2(+61%) | (8) Play Me 11/2, Scored by 1 1/2l off 57 here on his penultimate start. A bit below form off a revised mark when third, beaten 6l off 61 last time. Effective at 7-8f on good, good to firm. Current mark looks about right. Off the mark with win over C&D last month; didn't build on that back here 10 days later. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (11/1 -22%)Moon Sniper |
11/1(-22%) | (5) Moon Sniper 11/1, Showed better form in first-time cheekpieces back on soft ground when fourth, beaten 5l in an 8f handicap at Sandown latest. Acts on soft and good to firm. Inconsistent and may not build on his recent revival. Didn't build on fine 2nd last June; showed more in cheekpieces latest; still has time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (5/2 +75%)Wilhelmina |
5/2(+75%) | (2) Wilhelmina 5/2, Forced wide from a poor draw at Chester, beaten 6 1/2l in a 10f handicap last time. Usually consistent, trainer in form, and returns from a break. Effective at 1m on good. Excuses latest and worth another chance. Disappointing handicap debut in May; off since & bids to put that behind back down in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (3/1 +0%)Amidst The Chaos |
3/1(+0%) | (4) Amidst The Chaos 3/1, Improved again up in trip, landing a handicap by 1/2l off 65 at Musselburgh last time, and now 3lb higher. Effective from 8f to 9f and on good, good to firm. A big gelding who looks progressive. Not looked back since h'capping, scoring twice in 11 days; front pair were 8l clear latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) (5/1 -186%)Gorgeous Mr George |
5/1(-186%) | (1) Gorgeous Mr George 5/1, Produced a career-best when pushed out to land a handicap by 4l off 65 over 8f at Yarmouth last time. Effective at 6/7f and on good to soft and good to firm. Progressive, though his mark is rising quickly. Doubled up (7f) at Yarmouth in July and impressive (1m) at that track latest; big player. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Gorgeous Mr George made it three wins from his last four starts when bolting up at Yarmouth but, although respected, a subsequent 10lb rise could be a bridge too far. With that in mind, it might be best to side with AMIDST THE CHAOS. Nigel Tinkler's charge made a successful handicap bow at Doncaster before following up at Musselburgh and a further 7lb hike shouldn't be beyond the low-mileage gelding. Play Me is also noted.

Gorgeous Mr George and Amidst The Chaos are firmly on the up but PINK AZALEA has form here and likely has more to offer too.
Ths is the racecard key.
