400/1(-400%) | (2) Bahati Bahati 400/1, Poor effort in a point bumper at Maisemore Park latest; has it all to do on rules debut. Insufficient promise in point bumpers to warrant a second look on hurdling debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

ON THE BAYOU could prove the one to side with on the strength of his second here in December. Caught in the final strides on that hurdling debut, Harry Fry's charge had a subsequent dual winner back in fourth and will know more today. Can't Resist It faced a tough assignment behind Old Park Star at Cheltenham last time and this may prove to be more his level. He warrants plenty of respect, while Passage Du Maure and Limier D'arthel are others of interest.

On The Bayou was beaten by a 300-1 chance here last time so preference is for CAN'T RESIST IT who is downgraded.

Has won over hurdles here this season and could be interesting on chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (11) (250/1 -150%)Brucie Bonus |
250/1(-150%) | (11) Brucie Bonus 250/1, Another poor effort, maybe needed run when pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Taunton latest; yet to show much and now switching to fences. Pulled up in his two handicaps over hurdles on either side of a long absence. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

SAINT CYR DE PAIL disappointed upped in both class and distance at Wincanton. Jane Williams' charge had won nicely over C&D prior to that and may well bounce back to form with a tongue-tie applied for the first time. The runner-up at Taunton on his penultimate start, Storming Nelson is another looking to get back on track, while Zainy Champ is worth a second look on his chasing bow given his yard has won both previous renewals.

This has an open look to it. SAINT CYR DE PAIL might be the one now he's back in a Class 5 with a tongue-tie added.

4th (1) (85/40 +29%)Excelero |
85/40(+29%) | (1) Excelero 85/40, Taken on up front, made too much use of when fourth beaten 20l in a handicap chase at Warwick latest; enjoys making it; effective 2m-2m2f on soft and good; chance if dominating this. Needs to rebound, having performed below expectations in two starts since Warwick win. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

KAP OUEST separated a couple of higher-rated rivals at Doncaster when runner-up in novice company on his chasing bow. The seven-year-old makes his handicap debut over fences and could prove better than his mark. Georgi Girl has yet to win over the larger obstacles, but a repeat of her recent second at Ludlow would make her a threat, while Excelero is slipping back towards a workable figure.

Back at handicap level and returned to the scene of his hurdles win, KAP OUEST (nap) holds particularly strong claims.

7th (5) (11/2 -65%)Jaminska |

25/1(-127%) | (7) Benvoy 25/1, Made too much use of up in trip, didn't stay Pulled up in a handicap hurdle latest; off a short-break; effective 2m on good to soft and good; inconsistent. Inconsistent and not certain to fire despite the blinkers returning. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Lynx De Thaix hasn't put a foot wrong in France - over hurdles and fences - and is a fascinating addition to the Tom Symonds team. It's difficult to gauge the strength of his form, though, so a safer option is SHERMINATOR. A fall in a Cheltenham contest won by Supreme hotpot Old Park Star aside, Harry Fry's five-year-old has taken really well to jumping and a mark of 118 could underestimate him. Phoenix Risen registered a deserved success at Taunton, while Jaminska and French Emperor add further spice to a competitive affair.

Quite competitive. SHERMINATOR hasn't done a lot wrong so far and he brings plenty of potential into handicaps.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (9/4 +78%)Outlaw Peter |
9/4(+78%) | (5) Outlaw Peter 9/4, Found ground too testing when fourth beaten 28l in a handicap chase at Warwick latest; effective around 2m4f, acts on soft and good; step back in right direction latest. Well handicapped on old form but yet to offer much this season; needs a revival. |

11/1(-144%) | (8) Time To Bite 11/1, Stamina just held out up in trip under aggressive ride when landing a handicap by 1/2l off a 16lb lower mark here last time; effective 2m4f-3m, suited by good ground; in form and not easily ruled out back chasing. Prolific last year over fences but that's come at a cost mark-wise. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (14/1 +13%)Numitor |
14/1(+13%) | (2) Numitor 14/1, Pulled up in a handicap chase at Cheltenham latest; returning from a break; effective 2m4f-3m, acts on any; back below last winning mark but struggling this term. Has had a second wind operation since his last run but he comes with risks. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (13/2 +13%)Neon Moon |
13/2(+13%) | (4) Neon Moon 13/2, Fell mid-race in a handicap chase at Ascot latest; effective 2m5f-3m on sound surface; in good form prior to fall. Ascot winner in November but bit to prove on balance of form in last 12 months. |

9/2(-35%) | (1) Gunsight Ridge 9/2, Never jumped or travelled when well beaten in a handicap chase at Sandown latest; effective 2m with cut; can race lazily, bit below par this term. Usually goes well at Sandown where he disappointed last time; since had fourth wind op. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (33/1 -65%)Embittered |
33/1(-65%) | (6) Embittered 33/1, Outstayed in testing ground and below chase level when second beaten 20l in a claiming hurdle at Limerick latest; effective 2m-2m4f, acts on any but suited by decent ground; not the force of old. 9/2(+25%) | (7) Can You Call 9/2, Mistakes, below form off revised mark, race may have come a bit soon when last of four at Sandown latest; off a short-break; effective around 2m4f, suited by soft and good to soft; type to bounce back quickly. Cheltenham winner in December; just appeared to have an off-day last time at Sandown. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (3) (16/1 -88%)Pull Again Green |
16/1(-88%) | (3) Pull Again Green 16/1, Pulled up in a handicap chase at Bangor-on-Dee latest; returning from a break; effective 2m4f-3m; stiff mark. Has the form to feature off this mark and a break could have done him good. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Can You Call ran too badly to be true at Sandown and is better judged on his previous triumph in a similar event at Cheltenham. Genois lurks dangerously at the foot of the weights, while Neon Moon had yet to be asked a question when hitting the deck at Ascot, although the drop in trip isn't ideal. In contrast, GUNSIGHT RIDGE goes back up in distance and does so after a wind op. He has slipped to an attractive mark and is backed to take full advantage.

If back in the same form as at Cheltenham in December then CAN YOU CALL could have the measure of these.

Daire McConville got a great tune out of ON THE GO at Hereford and Charlie Longsdon turns his six-year-old out again before his new mark comes into effect. That impressive display helped banish a heavy Newbury defeat to the memory and it should be a case of onwards and upwards. Bredon Hill Dart struck here recently, while it's too soon to write off Following Chapter, despite his costly Ludlow second. Spring Serenade and My Own Lovely Lee are worth a look now they go handicapping.

On The Go holds leading claims on his Hereford form. There are plausible alternatives, notably FOLLOWING CHAPTER.

TED THE THIEF is unlikely to be much of a price but is difficult to oppose following a very impressive 13-length romp at Taunton. He comfortably reversed the Bataillon form and looks the type to continue improving in this sphere. Previous C&D winner Lightonthewing is the main danger having won at Wincanton before Christmas and finished a narrow second at Chepstow latest. The others need to improve but The Scorpion King is the pick of them.

An uncompetitive staying chase and TED THE THIEF is the only runner with progressive form. Lightonthewing is running well.

HARTHILL looks to have been found a really winnable opening here and it will be disappointing if she's not bang there at the business end following an improved second at Wincanton. She's in against her own sex again and gets a confident vote. Sweet Serene is 4lb out of the handicap but did show a bit more at Southwell last time, while Kantagua Du Large has won over fences in France.

Wincanton runner-up HARTHILL is taken to go one better and sustain the good form of her trainer who is 2-2 this month thus far.
Ths is the racecard key.
