Last-time-out C&D winner Sindabella rarely runs a bad race at this venue and another bold showing looks likely. However, a 6lb rise in the ratings may be enough to prevent the eight-year-old from following up and it could be worth taking a chance on GALACTIC GLOW. Joe Tickle's gelding was third in a race won by a subsequent winner at Taunton, with another right behind him, and he could be ready to open his account in this discipline. Sassified and Our Dylan are also noted.

This is wide open but ONEFORTHEFAIRGREEN gave the strong impression this step up in trip would suit when runner-up at Leicester last time out so edges the vote. Sassified heads the list of dangers on the back of his good recent Taunton second, although Our Dylan, Brownstone and Sindabella all need factoring in too.

The step back up in trip could be ideal for the unexposed mare ONEFORTHEFAIRGREEN and she earns the vote ahead of Sassified.

Having found only a progressive opponent too strong on his first attempt over fences at Bangor, compensation could beckon for LOWRY'S BAR. Although the six-year-old has a 4lb higher mark to contend with, he may find enough improvement to defy that rise. Lord Of Thunder was still in touch when falling two out on his chase bow at Cheltenham in October and he's feared most, ahead of dual C&D winner Stormy Flight.

Preference is for LOWRY'S BAR, who ran a cracker on his chasing bow at Bangor last month and remains with potential over the larger obstacles. Lord of Thunder would have gone close, but for coming down late on, on his Cheltenham chase debut and is feared most, whilst Garincha is also much respected.

Everything had gone fine for LORD OF THUNDER (nap) until falling late on at Cheltenham and he looks very well handicapped.

JURANCON built on his promising second-placed hurdles bow at Worcester when landing the spoils at Chepstow last month. David Pipe's inmate drew well clear with a subsequent winner that day and he looks up to defying a 6lb penalty. The biggest threat is likely to emerge from fellow penalised scorer Mythical Moon, who impressed with his attitude when winning at Stratford. Disco Davis may chase the duo home if cutting out the jumping errors.

JURANCON confirmed the promise of his hurdling debut display when opening his account at Chepstow 30 days ago, pulling a long way clear with the runner-up. He's fancied to make a bold bid to defy a penalty, with Disco Davis, who has been most unfortunate in 2 hurdle outings to date, and fellow last-time-out winner Mythical Moon heading up the dangers. Kap Vert is another capable of better.

Point and two-time bumper winner JURANCON has shown strong form on his two hurdle starts and can defy a 6lb penalty.

BILLYTHEREALBIGRED was hugely progressive in handicap hurdles, winning three on the bounce, before ending his season with a fall at Ayr. The four-year-old showed no ill effects when making a successful chasing debut at Bangor in October and a 12lb higher rating may not be enough to stop him from improving further. Dartmoor Pirate ran well to finish fourth in the EBF Final at Sandown and is likely to be in the mix on his chasing bow, while Fire Flyer has the ability to get involved in proceedings too.

BILLYTHEREALBIGRED couldn't have been much more impressive on his return/chase debut at Bangor in October and, with further improvement anticipated, he's fancied to defy a 12 lb rise and remain unbeaten in this sphere. Second choice is Royal Jewel, who resumed where he left off last winter when finishing runner-up on chase debut at Newton Abbot recently, with Dartmoor Pirate rounding off the shortlist.

Preference is for DARTMOOR PIRATE who was fourth in last season's always-strong EBF Hurdle Final at Sandown.

Iris Des Issards is likely to appreciate a step up in trip based on his return third here last month. Kayley Woollacott's gelding should have more to offer on just his seventh appearance over hurdles, but a chance is taken on handicap debutant NIGHT DUTY. The eight-year-old has required plenty of patience since winning a point-to-point in May 2021, only running three times since, but this might be the time to catch him. Jaminska and Baby Sage complete the shortlist.

The suggestion is LAND GENIE on his first outing for Dan Skelton, with confidence in his chance increased should the betting vibes be strong. Iris des Issards and Jaminska both arrive on the back of encouraging placed efforts here last month and can give the selection most to think about.

If she stays the trip then JAMINSKA is handicapped to be very competitive with Callum Pritchard taking away a further 7lb.

WHYDAH GALLY won over 3m5f on soft going at Lingfield back in February. A recent third off this mark in the Southern National offered plenty of encouragement and Joe Tizzard's resolute stayer is taken to confirm running with Musical Slave, who wasn't far behind the selection in fourth at Fontwell and can have a say in the outcome. Art Decco proved a progressive chaser last season and is preferred to Rouge De L'quest on his reappearance.

ROUGE DE L'QUEST was unlucky to bump into one at Chepstow on return, pulling clear of a subsequent winner, and is fancied to one better with a promising claimer taking off 7 b. Art Decco is an improving stayer who must be respected on his comeback, while the unexposed Well Dick is of interest having joined an in-form yard.

Rouge De L'Quest is solid but WELL DICK gets a speculative nod on the back of wind surgery and on his debut for Emma Lavelle.

A winner between the flags in Ireland, SOBER GLORY made a successful start under Rules when landing a bumper at Chepstow with plenty left in the tank. That is easily the strongest form on offer and the four-year-old could prove difficult to beat, despite carrying a penalty. The newcomer Crackerjacque is from the family of high-class chaser Sam Brown and could get involved, while Paul Nicholls' Master Theobaker is worth noting on his racecourse debut.

SOBER GLORY ran to a high figure when making a winning debut at Chepstow in October, pulling well clear with another useful prospect, so hopes have to be high that he will successfully concede weight all round. Newcomers may offer most resistance, with Master Theobaker and Crackerjacque likely types on paper.

There are interesting newcomers to beat but SOBER GLORY pulled clear with the second at Chepstow and he could be useful.
Ths is the racecard key.
