7/2(+46%) | (6) Vaureal 7/2, Made too much use of when finishing down the field in a handicap chase over 2m7f at Galway last time. Wears cheekpieces for the first time. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (8/1 +33%)Casey West |
8/1(+33%) | (7) Casey West 8/1, Pulled up in a handicap chase over 2m4f at Wexford last time. Cheekpieces go on for the first time. 8/1(+43%) | (9) Slotty Dotty 8/1, Disappointing on handicap debut when down the field in a handicap chase over 2m7f at Galway last time. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (14/1 -56%)Soloman Lane |
14/1(-56%) | (4) Soloman Lane 14/1, Below form when comfortably held in a handicap chase over 2m4f at Limerick, reportedly didn't enjoy kickback and was found to be coughing afterwards. In good form prior to that. Effective around 2½m and suited by cut, though his mark demands more. Solid runs here and Gowran but was coughing after disappointing last time; top rider. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (17/2 -31%)Binge Worthy |
17/2(-31%) | (1) Binge Worthy 17/2, Yard has won two of the last eight renewals of this race. Finished a 33l third in a beginners' chase over 2m4f at Down Royal last time. Effective between 2m and 2½m and acts on soft ground. The longer trip should suit and he's competitive if fit. Point and dual hurdle winner ran with some credit in two beginners' chases. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

12/1(+14%) | (2) Where's Frankie 12/1, Needed the run when well beaten in a handicap hurdle over 3m1f here last time. Effective at 3m and beyond and handles cut in the ground. Out of form this year. Four course wins; well beaten on return over hurdles but can do better today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (7/1 -40%)Big Stage |
7/1(-40%) | (3) Big Stage 7/1, Yard has won two of the last eight renewals of this race. Fell in a handicap chase over 2m4f at Kilbeggan last time when returning from a break. Effective between 2m and 2½m and suited by decent ground. Inconsistent but on a fair mark based on his best spring form. Hurdle winner is a maiden over fences but some decent runs and a player if at best. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (10) (10/1 -150%)Chosen Diamond |
10/1(-150%) | (10) Chosen Diamond 10/1, Well backed but below form back down in trip when down the field in a handicap hurdle over 2m here last time, setting it up for closers. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

17/2(+6%) | (11) Lovely Reaction 17/2, Pulled up in a handicap chase over 3m at Punchestown last time. Effective around 2½m and acts on any ground. Needs to prove herself after a lay-off. Dual hurdle winner was pulled-up chasing on return last time and not easy to fancy. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (8) (12/1 +0%)Attaboyarchie |
12/1(+0%) | (8) Attaboyarchie 12/1, Outpaced and needed the run on chase debut when down the field in a beginners' chase over 2m4f here last time. Effective around 2½m. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (11/2 +39%)Secrecies Of Stone |
11/2(+39%) | (5) Secrecies Of Stone 11/2, Fell in a handicap chase over 2m4f at Gowran Park last time after a short break. Effective at around 2½m and acts on yielding and good ground. Progressive until that run and could bounce back. Was going ok in front when unseating over C&D in April; fell on return; has to jump better. |

BINGE WORTHY hasn't run since April but has a favourable chase rating and should be ready for his reappearance. Out of a half-sister to Gold Cup winner Minella Indo, the selection had shown some useful soft ground form and, while well held in two previous chases, has every chance of stepping forward on his handicap debut in this discipline. Chosen Diamond relishes testing ground and is likely to be competitive on his return to action, while four-time course winner Where's Frankie appeals most of the remainder.

Though he has failed to get round on his last two chase runs, SECRECIES OF STONE would have gone close over C&D on the first of those

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (5/4 +0%)Narciso Has |
5/4(+0%) | (2) Narciso Has 5/4, Very promising debut, winning by 1 1/4l in a juvenile hurdle over 1m7f at Auteuil on debut. Effective at 2m and acts on yielding to soft ground. Effective just under 2m on good ground. Progressive over hurdles and form looks strong. Won a Cork maiden hurdle and 2nd to Mange Tout at Down Royal since; work to do now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (6) (11/1 +0%)In My Teens |
11/1(+0%) | (6) In My Teens 11/1, Made mistakes but travelled well before not finding as much as looked likely when fourth, beaten 2l in a juvenile hurdle at Punchestown last time. Effective at 2m and acts with cut and on good ground. Useful flat performer with more to come, though stamina to prove. A 98-rated Flat winner weakened late on making hurdle debut but should have improved. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

NARCISO HAS possesses a fine French pedigree and notably debuts for top connections. Out of a Listed-winning dam, who has already produced three black-type performers, the selection scored on debut at Auteuil in April in a race which is working out well. First-time hooded Mange Tout appeared briefly outpaced before capitalising on a mistake at the second last by Wizard Of Odds when scoring at Down Royal recently. With the pair now meeting on 4lb revised terms, little separates them. In My Teens ran on close home at Punchestown recently and appears a work in progress.

Despite running away with her rider on Irish debut at Down Royal, MANGE TOUT managed to win. She can win again with a hood back on

3/1(+33%) | (10) Better Times Ahead 3/1, Travelled strongly and did it cosily when landing a handicap by 1 1/2l off 108 over 3m here last time. Thrown in on chase form and improved up in trip; may stay even further and big player back over fences. Won a 3m handicap hurdle here on his seasonal debut, should be in prime shape for this. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (12/1 -9%)Will Do |
12/1(-9%) | (4) Will Do 12/1, Below form when down the field in the Troytown Handicap Chase (Grade 3) over 3m at Navan most recently. Top jockey returns to the saddle. Effective at 3m and handles any ground but can throw races away; enthusiasm concerns. Needs to find form again after failing to feature in the Munster National and the Troytown. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

17/2(-31%) | (5) Lonesome Boatman 17/2, Made all and improved up in trip when winning the Cork Grand National (Listed) by 6l off 119 over 3m4f at Cork last time. Effective at 3m+ and acts on any ground. Well treated on his Graded and hunter chase form. Relished the trip when landing the 3m4f Cork National, 9lb higher, may remain competitive. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (14) (10/1 +17%)Brucejack |
10/1(+17%) | (14) Brucejack 10/1, Had every chance but ran slightly below form over a sharp trip when fourth, beaten 24l, in a beginners' chase over 2m4f at Gowran Park latest. Effective at 3m and suited by soft ground, though faces a stiff mark. Yard has won two of the last five runnings of this race. Decent form last season, deserted by Jack Kennedy after a tame display in the Troytown. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (12) (12/1 -9%)St Denis's Well |
12/1(-9%) | (12) St Denis's Well 12/1, Badly hampered by a loose horse but improved when suited by a stiff track to land a handicap by 4 1/4l off 100 over 2m at Navan last time. Progressive type but needs more off this mark. Returned to form with a 2m handicap hurdle win at Navan, question mark about this trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) (15/2 +12%)Beaufort Scale |
15/2(+12%) | (9) Beaufort Scale 15/2, Outpaced and unsuited by a slight drop in trip when well beaten in the Troytown Handicap Chase (Grade 3) over 3m at Navan latest. Suited by 3m+ and progressing over fences. Yard has won two of the last five runnings; further should suit. Maiden over fences, was staying on towards the finish in the Troytown, this trip may suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (2) (15/2 -36%)Now Is The Hour |
15/2(-36%) | (2) Now Is The Hour 15/2, Finished third, beaten 16l, in a beginners' chase over 2m5f at Navan on his latest start. Suited by 3m+ and handles soft ground. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (8) (22/1 +12%)History Of Fashion |
22/1(+12%) | (8) History Of Fashion 22/1, Won this race last year but was well beaten in the Cork Grand National (Listed) over 3m4f at Cork latest. Stays 3m+ and has a good Fairyhouse record. Took this off 1lb lower last year and looks a likely target again. Veteran stayer won this event last year, needs to bounce back from poor Cork National run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (13) (8/1 +27%)Onethreefivenotout |
8/1(+27%) | (13) Onethreefivenotout 8/1, Finished second, beaten 4 1/2l, in a handicap chase over 3m at Down Royal latest. Suited by 3m on good ground and progressing over fences. Should build on that run. Yard has won two of the last five runnings. Promising second over 3m at Down Royal on Irish debut, only 1lb wrong; definite chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (7) (20/1 -43%)Fortunedefortunata |
20/1(-43%) | (7) Fortunedefortunata 20/1, Reluctant early and never threatened when down the field in the Troytown Handicap Chase (Grade 3) over 3m at Navan most recent. Blinkers applied for the first time. Suited by 3m+ with ease in the ground but below par this term. Yard has won two of the last five runnings. Not much has gone right since a long-distance Punchestown win last season, blinkered now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (6) (14/1 +22%)Positive Thinker |
14/1(+22%) | (6) Positive Thinker 14/1, Needed the run when well beaten in the Brown Lad Handicap Hurdle (Listed) over 2m4f at Naas last time. A consistent type but mark stiff enough. Went close in last year's Cork National, likely to show the benefit of a Naas hurdles run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (11) (9/1 +25%)Verdant Place |
9/1(+25%) | (11) Verdant Place 9/1, Finished fourth, beaten 10l, in the Irish Stallion Farms Novice Handicap Chase Final (Listed) over 3m at Navan last time. Effective at 3m, suited by stiff tracks and soft or heavy ground. Progressive and well treated off an unchanged mark; longer trip may suit. Two wins in 3m handicaps at Navan, Mark Walsh prefers the race-fit Better Times Ahead. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (18/1 +10%)Nine Graces |
18/1(+10%) | (3) Nine Graces 18/1, Outpaced and needed the run when down the field in a handicap hurdle over 2m4f at Punchestown last time. Capable of better. No encouragement from a low-key seasonal debut over hurdles, not certain to stay. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (15) (33/1 +18%)Clonmeen |
33/1(+18%) | (15) Clonmeen 33/1, Never competitive when well beaten in a handicap chase over 3m at Down Royal last time, possibly finding the ground too quick. In rear at Down Royal last time, well held by Onethreefivenotout, 6lb out of the handicap. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

Lightly-weighted ONETHREEFIVENOTOUT performed with credit on his first start for Gordon Elliott and might be able to build on that. While he had shown ability in the UK, his form was also a little in-and-out but ran nicely at Down Royal and he is suited by today's easier ground conditions. Better Times Ahead is a soft-ground stayer who chased home subsequent Scottish National winner Macdermott here in April 2024. He recently scored over hurdles at today's course and is respected back over the larger obstacles. Lonesome Boatman made all to win the Cork National recently and is capable of more, despite a 9lb rise.

Stamina is essential here, and POSTIVE THINKER (nap) fits the bill on the strength of last season's second in the 3m4f Cork National

Easy maiden winner; stable's first-string and has won four of last 10 runnings; big player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (8/1 +43%)Blake |
8/1(+43%) | (2) Blake 8/1, Improved for a comfortable win in a maiden hurdle at Down Royal over 2m1f by 5l last time. Effective at 2m on yielding or good ground and capable of better over hurdles based on very useful Flat form. Useful Flat type; won a Down Royal maiden hurdle but needs a lot more in this company. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

5/1(+38%) | (4) Gameball 5/1, Improved on bumper form with a very promising debut when winning a maiden hurdle at Punchestown by 6l last time. Effective at 2m on good ground. An impressive bumper winner who is likely to have more to offer over hurdles with debut form franked. Bumper and maiden hurdle winner; looks the yard's first-string and open to improvement. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (15/2 -25%)Eachtotheirown |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (10) (16/1 +68%)Whimsy |
16/1(+68%) | (10) Whimsy 16/1, Ran to form when 5l third in the For Auction Novice Hurdle (Grade 3) at Navan on her most recent run. Consistent at 2m and acts on any ground. In career-best form but appears to have reached her current level. Ran with credit in Grade 3 behind Love Me Tender; hard to see those placings reversed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (40/1 -60%)Sageborough |
40/1(-60%) | (7) Sageborough 40/1, Made mistakes but showed promise when a 2 1/2l winner in a maiden hurdle at Wexford on debut. Effective at 2m on yielding ground. His debut form has been franked and he could improve for further in time. Wexford maiden hurdle winner needs much more today against rivals with more experience. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (8) (40/1 -100%)Scope To Improve |
40/1(-100%) | (8) Scope To Improve 40/1, Justified short odds in decisive fashion on debut when winning an auction hurdle at Clonmel over 2m1f by 5l last time. Effective at 2m on yielding or good ground. Has much more to come, worth this step up in grade and likely to stay further. Won a Clonmel maiden hurdle on return; looks the yard's second-string; a fair bit to find. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

KOKTAIL BRUT looked a capable type when scoring on his recent hurdling debut and is suited by today's trip and going. The manner in which he scored at Punchestown earlier this month was impressive, as he reversed Leopardstown form with Colcannon and the pair finished clear of the remainder. Love Me Tender has impressed in three wins so far and while his nimble jumping has been straight and true, softer ground is a concern for him. Eachtotheirown, Gameball and Sageborough are each promising but nonetheless step up following recent maiden wins.

It was an impressive maiden hurdle debut from KOKTAIL BRUT at Punchestown and he already looks a better hurdler than bumper horse.

A Grade 1 winner over hurdles, could prove a top-class novice chaser, and has every chance up in class. Not far off the best of last term's novice hurdlers, good start over fences at Down Royal. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (10/3 +17%)Gold Dancer |
10/3(+17%) | (2) Gold Dancer 10/3, Improved again up in trip when winning the ODS Engineering Novice Chase (Grade 3) at Tipperary by 8l last time; effective from 2m to 2½m and suited by decent ground. Graded wins have been franked; a progressive sort and a big player up in grade. Three consecutive wins since May, form of Galway festival success has been well-advertised. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (12/1 +25%)Captain Cody |
12/1(+25%) | (1) Captain Cody 12/1, Won the Scottish Grand National at Ayr over 4m by a length last time; effective from 3m to 4m and acts on any ground. Hugely progressive last term, has an experience edge, but this trip may prove too sharp. Ended last season with Scottish National win, was effective over this trip as a hurdler. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (125/1 -150%)Raffles Dolce Vita |
125/1(-150%) | (6) Raffles Dolce Vita 125/1, Needed the run on stable debut when comfortably held in a beginners' chase over 2m at Naas last time; effective at 2m and suited by some cut in the ground. Should improve for the run but looks vulnerable at this level. Faded into sixth on Irish/chasing debut at Naas, faces a huge task against his elders. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (7/1 -27%)Ol Man Dingle |
7/1(-27%) | (3) Ol Man Dingle 7/1, Improved up in trip and grade when winning the Paddy Power Betting Shops Novice Chase (Grade 3) at Cork by 3l last time; effective from 2m to 2½m. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (33/1 -65%)Pied Piper |
33/1(-65%) | (4) Pied Piper 33/1, From the yard that won this last year; ran to form but flattened out over a stretching trip at a stiff track when comfortably held in the Troytown Handicap Chase (Grade 3) over 3m at Navan last time. Effective around 2½m and has reached his level. Three chase wins in small-field events, well held by Gold Dancer on Tipperary running. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

Willie Mullins had this race in mind for GOLD DANCER after he beat stablemate Westport Cove at the Galway Festival and the Doctor Dino gelding went on to land another Grade 3 at Tipperary last month. The form of those last two victories has been franked and, despite the concern that summer novices can often be found wanting in this race, the six-year-old can extend his winning sequence. Romeo Coolio was turned over at odds-on in last year's Royal Bond but subsequently showed his true colours at Grade 1 level and won well on chase debut at Down Royal, albeit in a reduced test of jumping. Ol Man Dingle, unbeaten in two chases, is another worthy of consideration.

Based on his form as a high-ranking novice hurdler last season and a competent chasing debut, ROMEO COOLIO looks the part

1/1(-10%) | (6) Teahupoo 1/1, A five-time Grade 1 winner who took this race last year. Landed the Champion Stayers Hurdle (Grade 1) at Punchestown over 3m by 4 1/4l last time. Effective from 2 1/2m to 3m and prefers soft ground; the leading staying hurdler and can complete a hat-trick in this contest. Won this in 2022 and 2023, beaten by Lossiemouth last year, good chance he can make amends. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (13/8 +7%)Ballyburn |
13/8(+7%) | (1) Ballyburn 13/8, A four-time Grade 1 winner for a yard that landed this last year. Ran to form when second, beaten 6 1/2l, in the Champion Novice Chase (Grade 1) over 3m1f at Punchestown last time; a clear threat back over hurdles where only defeated once. Former top novice hurdler, chasing last term, could rebuild his reputation in this sphere. |

3rd (4) (28/1 -27%)Maxxum |
28/1(-27%) | (4) Maxxum 28/1, From a yard that has won two of the last five runnings. Needed the run when fourth, beaten 22l, in the Lismullen Hurdle (Grade 2) at Navan last time. 10/1(+60%) | (2) Casheldale Lad 10/1, From a yard that has won two of the last five runnings. Quickened clear comfortably and outclassed rivals in a weak race for the grade when winning the bottlegreen Hurdle (Listed) at Down Royal over 2m1f by 7l last time. Suited by 2m; progressive but vulnerable up in class. Highly dependable youngster, three wins and third in Galway Hurdle from last four starts. |

|U| (5) (11/1 -10%)Mystical Power |
11/1(-10%) | (5) Mystical Power 11/1, A dual Grade 1 winner from last year's winning yard. Pulled up in the Stayers' Hurdle (Grade 1) over 3m at Cheltenham when last seen and returns from a long layoff. Effective at 2m but badly out of form last season; stamina a concern. Brilliant two-mile novice two seasons ago, questions to answer after last season's lapses. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (3) (28/1 +30%)Glen Kiln |
28/1(+30%) | (3) Glen Kiln 28/1, Improved again when ridden to pick up the pieces but was outclassed when second, beaten 19l, in the Morgiana Hurdle (Grade 1) over 2m1f at Punchestown last time. Likes to make the running and effective between 2m and 2 1/2m; progressive. In fine shape since joining this stable, beat two rivals to take second in the Morgiana. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

In the first two in the last three renewals of the Stayers' Hurdle, TEAHUPOO sets out on the road to Cheltenham again and, as has been the case for the last two seasons, this may be his only run before March. Top performer Lossiemouth denied him a hat-trick of wins in this race last year and he looks the one to beat. Despite winning a Grade 1, Ballyburn's novice chasing campaign didn't live up to expectations. A brilliant novice hurdler, it will be interesting to see how he fares against the selection who is such a solid benchmark in this division. Outpaced in last weekend's Morgiana Hurdle, Glen Kiln should be more at home over 2m4f.

Winner of this race twice before losing out last season, TEAHUPOO can add his name to the list of three-time winners of this race

18/1(0%) | (3) Path D'oroux 18/1, Ran to form, just flattening out up the hill when 10l third in a graduation chase at Carlisle last time. Considered a value selection on the balance of his form. Useful 142-rated chaser, modest strike rate over fences, fair hurdler early in career. |

6th (1) (9/2 -50%)Puturhandstogether |
9/2(-50%) | (1) Puturhandstogether 9/2, Travelled well and improved up in trip to land the Irish Cesarewitch by 1/2l off 82 over 2m1f at The Curragh last time. Trained by a top course handler, off a short break, effective at 2m on soft and good; Fred Winter winner on a good flat mark but bit more needed in this sphere. 22/1(-100%) | (8) Teed Up 22/1, Improved when 4l third in a handicap over 12f at Leopardstown last time; well treated on last hurdles run where given too much to do; interesting. Better known as a five-time Flat winner, also effective over hurdles, worth a market check. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (11) (14/1 +22%)Luker's Tipple |
14/1(+22%) | (11) Luker's Tipple 14/1, Too much to do but ran to form when 4l third in a handicap hurdle at Navan last time. Blinkered for the first time; effective at 2m on soft or good ground; consistent over hurdles though a little frustrating. Record of six seconds from ten starts over hurdles is off-putting, blinkers tried. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (7) (4/1 +43%)Ataboycharlie |
4/1(+43%) | (7) Ataboycharlie 4/1, Never nearer but returned to form back over hurdles when beaten 1 1/2l off 126 over 2m6f at Galway last time. Effective between 2m and 2m5f on yielding or soft ground; in fair form. Kept good company over fences last season, made a pleasing return to hurdling at Galway. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

Four of these ran in the Lartigue Hurdle at Listowel in September and that four-year-old handicap looks a key formline for this valuable contest. Last Kingdom, a C&D winner here earlier in the year, was always in a good position when winning in first-time cheekpieces at the Kerry venue and is probably still on the right side of the handicapper, despite an 8lb rise. Runner-up at Listowel, Fred Winter winner Puturhandstogether landed a gamble in the Irish Cesarewitch just three days later and has to enter calculations. Only sixth in the Lartigue, LUKER'S TIPPLE ran a better race at Navan last time and blinkers are an interesting addition to the bottom weight.

A hopeful vote goes to ATABOYCHARLIE who kept good company over fences term and made a pleasing return over hurdles at Galway

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (5) (40/1 -100%)Figero |
40/1(-100%) | (5) Figero 40/1, Hillstar gelding; half-brother to Avalo, fair at 20f; dam was useful at 8f at two years old. Home-bred seems best watched on debut unless the market says otherwise. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (8) (50/1 0%)Let's Go La Fichad |
50/1(0%) | (8) Let's Go La Fichad 50/1, Jeu St Eloi gelding; best watched unless market suggests otherwise. By a leading French sire and capable of a respectable run on debut. |

Three of the most powerful yards are represented by wide-margin point-to-point winners and it will be a surprise if the winner comes from outside that trio of Rules debutants. Gordon Elliott has won four of the last eight renewals and GRANGECLARE PARK, a soft-ground winner for Colin Bowe, is taken to enhance his trainer's good record in this race. Willie Mullins has landed this twice in the last 10 years and Cokoriko gelding Lultimatom is sure to be prominent in the market. A winner on quick ground between the flags, Endless Talking has the assistance of a talented conditional rider and is another that has to be on the shortlist.

GRANGECLARE PARK is marginally preferred to fellow point winners Lultimatom and Endless Talking.
Ths is the racecard key.
