1st (1) (13/8 +64%)The Grey Man |
13/8(+64%) | (1) The Grey Man 13/8, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Chepstow latest; may have placed but for falling on last chase run; effective at 2m-2m4f, acts on heavy, soft; could bounce back. Having a very mixed campaign but will be dangerous here if he gets his act together. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (5/2 +86%)The Moonlight Man |
5/2(+86%) | (2) The Moonlight Man 5/2, Pulled up in a handicap chase at Chepstow latest; tongue-tie first time; effective 3m; still early days over fences but needs more. Still unexposed under rules but was pulled up on chase/handicap debut; improvement needed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (6/4 +57%)Wonder Of The Seas |
6/4(+57%) | (4) Wonder Of The Seas 6/4, Pulled up in a handicap chase at Leicester latest; second run after wind op; off a short-break; effective at around 3m, acts on HY; fair mark on old form but bit to prove. Quite well handicapped if judged on best 2024 form; back from long layoff with a poor run. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Most of these have something to prove but not OWL OF ATHENS, who bolted up at Huntingdon. Evan Williams' charge appeared to relish the testing conditions that day and with similar ground in store, he looks to have been found another fine opportunity. Wonder Of The Seas has failed to complete the last twice, but earlier efforts suggest he's the main threat. The Grey Man is next best.

The most obvious answer is OWL OF ATHENS, who won comfortably by a wide margin at Huntingdon last week and now moves up in trip.

1st (6) (3/1 -9%)Uptown Dandy |
3/1(-9%) | (6) Uptown Dandy 3/1, Pulled up in a novice hurdle at Ascot latest after bad early error; previous run strong form; effective 2 1/2m, acts on soft, good; debut form franked, longer trips should suit in time but big player. Runner-up on first two hurdling starts; pulled up after mid-race jumping error last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (4/5 +12%)Inishcorker |
4/5(+12%) | (1) Inishcorker 4/5, Ran to form when second beaten 8 1/2l in a maiden hurdle at Uttoxeter latest; off a short-break; effective 2 1/2-3m, acts on soft and good to soft; improving under rules, remain competitive. Pulled up on hurdle debut in October but ended 2025 with three good runs (one over C&D). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (2/1 +0%)Limerick Star |
2/1(+0%) | (3) Limerick Star 2/1, Ran to form when fourth beaten 6l in a maiden hurdle at Warwick latest; cheekpieces first time; effective 2m-2m3f, acts on heavy and good to soft; debut form franked, longer trip could suit. Launched hurdling career with two promising runs this year; cheekpieces added; big player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (25/1 +0%)Kenzo Des Bruyeres |
25/1(+0%) | (2) Kenzo Des Bruyeres 25/1, Outpaced on poor debut when fourth beaten 38l in a maiden hurdle here latest; multiple point winner may be one for long distance handicaps under rules. Dual Irish point winner in autumn but remote when fourth over C&D on rules debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (9) (40/1 +73%)Slack Alice |
40/1(+73%) | (9) Slack Alice 40/1, Continued in poor form when fourth beaten 34l in a novice hurdle here latest; effective up to 16f, acts on AW and with cut; in moderate form in both codes. Beaten about 33l when last of four over C&D (heavy) on last month's return to hurdling. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (100/1 -150%)Makinbecon |
100/1(-150%) | (4) Makinbecon 100/1, Outpaced on modest debut when fourth beaten 37l in a maiden hurdle here latest; should improve a little for initial experience with longer trip a plus. Second in two Irish points last spring but soundly beaten here (2m) on recent rules debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (80/1 +47%)Roi Du Roume |
80/1(+47%) | (5) Roi Du Roume 80/1, Outpaced and looked in need of stiffer test down the field in a novice hurdle at Chepstow most recent; usually held up; effective at 3m in points; may need more time. Fourth in a bumper on rules debut but two heavy defeats over hurdles have followed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) (300/1 -50%)Wings Of Arion |
300/1(-50%) | (7) Wings Of Arion 300/1, Never threatened down in trip down the field in a novice hurdle at Chepstow most recent; ; may need more time. Well beaten at triple-digit odds on both hurdling starts (2m4f/2m). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (8) (300/1 -50%)Skiptothepost |
300/1(-50%) | (8) Skiptothepost 300/1, No worthwhile form; absent for very lengthy period; showed nothing in points. Pulled up in all five points, the latest in April 2024; cannot be recommended. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

INISHCORKER has been picking up his share of minor money and although a little underwhelming at both Haydock and Uttoxeter when well fancied, the Jukebox Jury gelding did produce his best effort over C&D so a return may help him break the maiden. Uptown Dandy was pulled up at Ascot latest, but he won't find this as demanding. Limerick Star is another with a big chance.

Rebecca Curtis' INISHCORKER is yet to build upon his C&D second in November but he may benefit from this drop back in trip.

1st (2) (5/4 +55%)Sparkling Duke |
5/4(+55%) | (2) Sparkling Duke 5/4, Went clear comfortably, improved up in trip landing a handicap by 7 1/2l off a 7lb lower mark here last time; effective 2 1/2-3m; inconsistent but recent form looks good. 2-3 for this yard, winning comfortably here last time on heavy; raised 7lb. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (8/1 +27%)Slim Marvel |
8/1(+27%) | (5) Slim Marvel 8/1, Outpaced, unsuited by drop in trip on stable debut comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Chepstow last time; effective 2 1/2-3m; consistent but poor strike rate in Ireland. Made a quiet start for this yard at Chepstow but in a Class 3 handicap and this is easier. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (11/2 -38%)Clondaw Royale |
11/2(-38%) | (3) Clondaw Royale 11/2, Ran to form appreciating the easy ground landing a handicap by 2l off a 4lb lower mark at Wetherby last time; effective 2 1/2-3m, acts on soft, good to soft; has run back into form, still on competitive mark. Responded well to Benjamin Macey's urgings to get back up at Wetherby (3m, soft). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) (66/1 -200%)Fane Court |
66/1(-200%) | (8) Fane Court 66/1, Never threatened well beaten in a maiden hurdle at Taunton latest; effective at 3m in points; type to do better handicapping over longer trips but mark demands it. Tailed off in three runs over hurdles and goes handicapping with an awful lot to prove. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (10/3 -11%)La Higuera |
10/3(-11%) | (1) La Higuera 10/3, Improved again landing a handicap by 15l off a 9lb lower mark at Southwell last time; effective 2m3f-3m, acts on soft and good; progressive, form franked, remain competitive. Has won his last two, both at 3m; raised 9lb for last time but he's on a roll. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (22/1 +12%)Jack's Jury |
22/1(+12%) | (6) Jack's Jury 22/1, Couldn't go gallop, never travelled, not handle track comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Warwick last time; needs 3m, more galloping track will suit. Maiden and all his best efforts have come on much drier terrain; stable debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) (16/1 -45%)Frankie Faulkner |
16/1(-45%) | (9) Frankie Faulkner 16/1, Ran to form 9 1/4l third in a handicap chase at Market Rasen most recent run; effective 3m, acts on any; fair chance on recent chase efforts. Has been running well over fences and sole success came in a maiden hurdle. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

La Higuera recorded a narrow win at Wetherby before following up in emphatic fashion at Southwell but, although respected, preference is for SPARKLING DUKE. The seven-year-old returned to form in no uncertain terms over C&D last time out and looks likely to go close in similar conditions. Colonial Empire drops in class after finishing second at Catterick and won't be far away either.

Cases can be made for most of these. SLIM MARVEL found 2m3f too sharp a test on her stable debut and that was also a Class 3 handicap.

1st (3) (5/1 +29%)Arctic Conditions |
5/1(+29%) | (3) Arctic Conditions 5/1, Below form for no obvious reason when fourth beaten 45l in a maiden hurdle at Uttoxeter latest; trainer in form; off a short-break; stays 3m, acts on good to soft; drop back in trip a worry on chase debut but opening mark fair. Did not show a great deal in maiden/novice hurdles but his point form offers some hope. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (7/2 0%)Face D'music |
7/2(0%) | (1) Face D'music 7/2, Improved on recent efforts back up in trip landing a handicap by a neck off a 5lb lower mark at Chepstow last time; effective 3m; back in form, remains well treated on old efforts. Won over hurdles at Chepstow last month and reverts to chasing on a workable mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (7/1 +7%)Hawk Stone |
7/1(+7%) | (5) Hawk Stone 7/1, Never jumped or travelled well beaten in a handicap chase at Leicester latest; effective 2m, acts with cut; inconsistent. Ran well in defeat here in January but back in the doldrums last month; hard to predict. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (10/3 -78%)Followango |
10/3(-78%) | (2) Followango 10/3, Landed a handicap by 3/4l off a 3lb lower mark here penultimate start; effective 2m4f-3m1f, acts on soft and good; consistent in Class 4 and below; likely flattered by latest but looks thrown in back in a handicap. Won over 3m here in January and not disgraced in 1m7f Listed race last month; good chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (5/2 +0%)Dj Pete |
5/2(+0%) | (4) Dj Pete 5/2, Ran to form landing a handicap by a head off a 4lb lower mark here last time; effective 2m-2m4f, acts on soft, good; remains well treated on novice form. Held on gamely to fend off in-form rival here last week; big player if in right mood again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) (28/1 -12%)Greenways |
28/1(-12%) | (6) Greenways 28/1, Pulled up in a handicap chase at Hereford latest; effective 2-2 1/2m; prefers to dominate; conditions a worry here. Good-ground winner last summer but has badly lost his way since; 5lb wrong. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

DJ PETE's best efforts this season have come at this venue and the eight-year-old arrives following a narrow success over 2m last week. A 4lb rise might not be enough to stop him from backing that performance up. Followango has stamina assured following her victory here over 3m at the end of January and she is capable of being in the mix, while handicap/chase debutant Arctic Conditions appeals most of the remainder.

The vote goes to FOLLOWANGO, who scored over 3m here two starts ago and just about held her own in a 1m7f Listed race last month.

1st (1) (9/4 +36%)Moorland Rambler |
9/4(+36%) | (1) Moorland Rambler 9/4, Won this last year off 3lb lower; every chance, ran to form when fourth beaten 12l in a handicap hurdle at Ludlow latest; effective 2m-2m4f, acts on heavy, good, goes well at Exeter; inconsistent but capable off this mark. Won this race on heavy ground in 2025 and returns here after two good efforts this year. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (11/10 +51%)Ionity |
11/10(+51%) | (3) Ionity 11/10, Ran to form beaten a length off a 3lb lower mark at Wetherby last time; should come on for that; effective around 2m4f, acts with cut; consistent, can go well again. Made pleasing return from long absence when close third of 13 at Wetherby in January. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (7/1 -8%)Bolsover Bill |
7/1(-8%) | (4) Bolsover Bill 7/1, Ran to current form when fourth beaten 13l in a handicap hurdle at Chepstow latest; fair mark on chase form; effective 2 1/2m, acts on any; needs to prove as good as he was after lay off. Took step back in right direction when fourth at Chepstow last month; still on good mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (11/2 -175%)Getaway With You |
11/2(-175%) | (2) Getaway With You 11/2, Rallied gamely and returned to form landing a handicap by 3/4l off a 4lb lower mark at Chepstow last time; trainer in form; effective 2m4f-3m, acts on heavy, good to soft; steadily progressive, more needed again. Battled well to score at Chepstow eight days ago, his fourth win this season. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (25/1 -150%)Onehundredneighty |
25/1(-150%) | (6) Onehundredneighty 25/1, Improved up in trip on handicap debut 11l third in a handicap hurdle at Chepstow most recent run; effective 2m3f; bit more needed to get off the mark. Belied 150-1 odds when staying-on third on recent handicap debut at Chepstow. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Getaway With You returned to winning ways at Chepstow last week and has to enter calculations after going up 4lb for that success. Moorland Rambler won this contest last season, but needs to improve on recent efforts and the vote goes to IONITY. Evan Williams' gelding placed when returning from a lengthy absence at Wetherby and is entitled to step forward on this occasion.

The suggestion is last year's winner MOORLAND RAMBLER (nap), who returns here after two good efforts and is on a workable mark.

1st (2) (17/2 -21%)Francky Blue |
17/2(-21%) | (2) Francky Blue 17/2, Mistakes but ran to level of debut form when fourth beaten 26l in a novice hurdle at Chepstow latest; effective 2m, acts on heavy; may need further than 2m in time but threat if getting a stiff test. Qualifying runs not devoid of promise and he's got the scope to improve with racing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (13/8 +73%)Maestro Du Mesnil |
13/8(+73%) | (4) Maestro Du Mesnil 13/8, Still green and not given a hard time back from break when fourth beaten 16l in a 4yo hurdle at Chepstow latest; trainer in form; effective at 2m, acts on good; should improve but probably in handicaps. Only had two runs and could easily have it in him to be competitive on handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (4/1 -220%)Inion Tiogair |
4/1(-220%) | (6) Inion Tiogair 4/1, Did it readily and ran to form landing a handicap by 9 1/2l off a 6lb lower mark at Chepstow last time; effective 2m-2m3f, acts on heavy and good to soft; in form and may have bit more to offer now she's had his head in front. Up 6lb for recent win but looks a good bet to give her running on ground she handles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (3/1 +0%)Bouquet De Paris |
3/1(+0%) | (5) Bouquet De Paris 3/1, Improved on final qualifying run beaten 10l in a juvenile hurdle at Taunton last time; off a short-break; effective 2m, acts on good; opening mark demands more but could progress. Suffient promise in juvenile hurdles to believe he can threaten on handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (6/1 +0%)Chief Sunday |
6/1(+0%) | (1) Chief Sunday 6/1, Up in trip, may not have stayed well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Lingfield latest; effective 2m, acts on soft and good; form has tailed off this term but drop in trip will suit. Dual soft-ground winner; back over hurdles last time there were feasible excuses. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (25/1 -14%)Sophie Power |
25/1(-14%) | (3) Sophie Power 25/1, Up in trip, may not have stayed well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Leicester latest; usually held up; effective 2m, acts with cut; bounce back needed. Leicester winner in November but comfortably beaten otherwise this season. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Having secured a first hurdles victory in some style at Chepstow, Inion Tiogair is sure to prove popular in her follow-up bid. Although a 6lb higher mark seems fair, a return to 2m and rise in class does ask more of the nine-year-old. With that in mind, it could be worth taking a punt on handicap debutant BOUQUET DE PARIS, who hasn't been disgraced on his last two outings. Francky Blue is a feasible alternative.

Although fairly exposed now, CHIEF SUNDAY could get his career back on track after an excusable defeat on his return to hurdles.

1st (4) (9/4 +25%)Mojito Lido |
9/4(+25%) | (4) Mojito Lido 9/4, Kitkou gelding; half-brother to Hilnamix, very useful at 24f; stable gets plenty of first time out winners in this sphere; of interest Bred to stay well so that will help on the ground; stable respected in these races. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (13/8 +64%)Chapeau David |
13/8(+64%) | (1) Chapeau David 13/8, 80,000 euros Taj Mahal gelding; dam poor at 12f; half brother won a hurdle first time out in France; trainer in form; market can guide. Stable is 0-17 in bumpers last five seasons but this Flat bred cost 80,000euros as a 3yo. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (2/1 -150%)Jimmy Gatz |
2/1(-150%) | (2) Jimmy Gatz 2/1, Promising debut 5l fourth in a 4yo bumper at Carlisle first-time out; effective 2m, acts on good to soft; should improve a little for initial experience and the one to beat. Beaten 5l in a slowly run bumper at Carlisle (good to soft); only runner with experience. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (8/1 0%)Maucourt D'airy |
8/1(0%) | (3) Maucourt D'airy 8/1, Storm The Stars gelding; half-brother to Iriko D'Airy, high-class at 24f; dam placed over hurdles and fences in France; likely best watched. Half-brother to AQPS Flat winners Furda D'Airy and Kernie D'Airy and a point winner. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

JIMMY GATZ wasn't ideally placed when finishing fourth off a sedate gallop at Carlisle and compensation could be on the cards. Olly Murphy's charge is entitled to improve for that opening bid and his experience may prove decisive. Chapeau David fetched 80,000 euros and boasts enough speed in his pedigree to make an impact at this level. Market support for him would be interesting, with Mojito Lido next best.

Anything Tom Weston runs in a bumper commands attention and MOJITO LIDO has a lot of stamina in his pedigree.
Ths is the racecard key.

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
