|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (9) (40/1 -21%)Lasswade |
40/1(-21%) | (9) Lasswade 40/1, No worthwhile form in opening three starts; trainer in form; usually held up; not proven trip; more needed Possible improver judged on pedigree but has shown no promise in maidens. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

D DAY MAJOR WINTER appeals most after proving he can last beyond a mile with a resectable second-placed finish over an extended 1m3f at Lingfield 11 days ago. This slightly shorter trip could prove to be ideal given the way that race panned out and he won't need much of a step forward to assert his authority under top-weight. Leicester runner-up Shabu Shabu is feared most, although Buck Barrow also has strong possibilities at this level.

A maiden handicap in all but name. BUCK BARROW is the form pick on his Bath effort. Shabu Shabu is second choice.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (5/2 -67%)Jimmy Mark |
5/2(-67%) | (4) Jimmy Mark 5/2, Did not get a clear run scored by a head off 52 over 1m4f at Bath three starts back; second beaten 1/2l off 55 last time; goes well here; up in trip; serious contender Solid record over 11.5f this term; 2-2 at Ffos Las; respected, assuming he stays new trip. |

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Nivelle's Magic was back on a previous winning mark when scoring over 1m4f at Southwell on her most recent start, but she has a 5lb higher rating, a 53-day absence to overcome and two additional furlongs to cope with here. Those factors are persuasive enough to suggest looking elsewhere, with BLENHEIM LAD forwarded as the first one to consider. Already a winner over this distance, that proven stamina earns the Camilla Poulton-trained gelding the vote. Adrian and Jimmy Mark can also feature.

With a combined record of 3-3 at Ffos Las and respectable 2025 form, NIVELLE'S MAGIC and Jimmy Mark are the biggest players.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

This could be well within the reach of MAGNETITE, who won't need much of a step forward to get off the mark. The Wathnan Racing-owned colt was a respectable third behind a much better-fancied stable companion on his seasonal debut at Chepstow last month and should be spot on for a bolder showing in this, his qualifying run for a handicap mark. Outlandish, Pantani and Mum's Angel are other unexposed options to consider.

Arctic Dawn and The Hare Rail are major players on form, while MAGNETITE and Outlandish could well progress further.

14/1(-87%) | (7) Lhebayeb 14/1, Well backed when landing a handicap in good style by 2 1/4l off 53 over 1m at Chepstow last time; down in trip does raise questions; serious threat in tight affair All wins over longer trips and in Class 6, including latest start; unlikely to follow up. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (3) (14/1 -27%)Amica |
14/1(-27%) | (3) Amica 14/1, Probably needed race down the field in a maiden over 6f at Kempton most recent; up in trip on handicap debut; each-way shout May show progress now handicapping and back up in distance; not ruled out. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

This looks open with the likes of handicap debutants Maybe Not, Amica and Key Witness all seemingly capable of better, but it is HUNKY DORY that gets the vote. The son of Pinatubo was perhaps in need of the outing at Newmarket at the beginning of last month, though he took a marked leap forward to finish an extremely creditable fifth in a warm York contest latest. Eased 1lb in the handicap, it would come as no great surprise were he to find further progress and land the spoils.

Several runners are interesting, particularly KEY WITNESS (nap). Second choice is Maybe Not, ahead of Hunky Dory.

8/1(+68%) | (5) Scarfo 8/1, Fourth beaten 9l in a handicap at Chepstow latest; form going the wrong way; bit to prove On a long losing run but comes here in decent nick; he ought to be in the shake-up. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (12/1 +0%)Almizan |
12/1(+0%) | (6) Almizan 12/1, 5 1/2l third in a handicap at Chelmsford most recent run; unplaced in opening six starts; probably best to look elsewhere Good third at Chelmsford latest; she can go well despite being 1lb out of the handicap. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (2) (13/2 -44%)Rival |
13/2(-44%) | (2) Rival 13/2, Probably needed race comfortably held in a handicap at Chepstow last time; blinkers first time; return to quicker ground would be a plus; CD winner; in the mix C&D winner; looked rusty after 11 months off when sixth at Chepstow; can take step forward. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

King of The Dance has remained competitive since winning at Wolverhampton in March and the six-year-old is expected to be thereabouts once again. That said, it might be worth taking a chance on SCENARIO. The low-mileage three-year-old posted a solid effort when fourth at Brighton earlier this month. Cheekpieces are applied for the first time and they could elicit some improvement. Irish raider Yquem makes her handicap bow and the booking of David Egan is noteworthy.

This could go to SCENARIO, who can build on a very good recent Brighton fourth (the form has been franked) to get off the mark here.

22/1(-100%) | (4) Baikal 22/1, Ran to form fourth beaten 12l in a handicap hurdle over 2m at Worcester latest; not proven trip; yet to win on turf flat; bit to find Hurdles/AW scorer; 0-13 in Flat turf events; not the percentage call. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (9/1 +44%)Cogital |
9/1(+44%) | (3) Cogital 9/1, Seemed to be on stiff mark fourth beaten 17l in a handicap at Chepstow latest; usually held up; without a win since 2022; bit to find Modest fourth last time; seemingly isn't anything like the force of old. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (11/10 +37%)Cornish Storm |
11/10(+37%) | (5) Cornish Storm 11/10, Well backed and forced wide when beaten a length off 52 at Kempton last time; fairly consistent; contender Creditable second on Kempton AW last time; fighting chance back on turf. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

THREE YORKSHIREMEN was able to take advantage of a sliding handicap mark when on target over 1m3f at Kempton recently. Sean Levey retains the ride and a 2lb rise will be no barrier to further success. If seeing out this extra furlong, he might prove tough to beat. Cornish Storm has been in solid form under both codes and must feature prominently in calculations, while Run Of Luck appeals most of the remaining trio.

Based on recent form and other factors, CORNISH STORM (narrowly preferred) and Three Yorkshiremen are the strongest contenders.
Ths is the racecard key.

Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
