18:30 Ffos Las (Class 5) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Having almost caused a 66/1 shock when finishing second at Salisbury last month, FIRST TIME could be poised to open his account. Harry Charlton's colt makes considerable appeal dropping into a class 5 maiden and he should prove tough to beat. Richard Hughes has his string in good nick at present and market support for Yes Waliim on his debut would be interesting. Fellow newcomer Gharma Sutra isn't easily dismissed either.

Lieutenant Kije can do better but so can FIRST TIME and he sets a useful standard after his fine second at Salisbury last month.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Conscript offered plenty of encouragement with his third-placed debut at Haydock well over a year ago and it will be interesting to see how he fares in the market on this belated return to action. However, PETER THE WOLF has posted several creditable efforts since entering handicap company and rates as the one to beat on this switch to a maiden. Wild Clary is also noted.

Peter The Wolf has clearly the best form but is 0-8. He's taken on with CONSCRIPT who showed up so well at Haydock last June.

19:30 Ffos Las (Class 6) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Punchbowl Flyer bounced back to form when filling the runner-up spot over 6f on his Chepstow reappearance and another good account is forecast. However, the drop back in distance could lead to his downfall and preference is for CABEZA DE LLAVE. Michael Attwater's charge finished second at Windsor 18 days ago and a 1lb rise from the assessor might prove to be lenient. Roach Power is the pick of the remainder.

Rain would be a fillip for Roach Power and BAMA LAMA (nap) and Rod Millman's filly is taken to enhance her fine C&D record.

BEGGARMAN returned to form with a smooth success over 1m6f here last month and stepping back up in trip should not inconvenience him as he looks to follow up off 5lb higher, with David Probert in the saddle again. Adrian (fourth) has almost eight lengths to find with the selection from that contest, but he has improved since to finish second over C&D. Mind Hunter could be the one to pick up the pieces if either of those two falter.

Adrian was second over C&D 16 days ago but has never scored in Britain, so BEGGARMAN can register his second win on turf.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Dropping back in trip may not be ideal for WHATSGOINGONMARVIN, but he has shown enough pace in his victories at Chester and Ayr to suggest that he can handle it. A 6lb penalty for his most recent success looks manageable and the son of Camelot is narrowly preferred to Respiro Solitario, who goes up in grade after scoring easily at Wolverhampton off 6lb lower. Magic Runner and Mighty Quiet are capable of being in the shake-up as well.

There is a serious rival in Respiro Solitario but WHATSGOINGONMARVIN has plenty more to offer and can complete the hat-trick.

Still relatively unexposed after six career outings, MAUNDY THURSDAY has shown enough ability on each of her last two starts over further to suggest that she can get off the mark on this occasion. It may be Warrior Lion who gives her the most to think about following a highly creditable third at Doncaster on his second run for the in-form Jennie Candlish outfit. Last year's winner Zambezi Magic is another to note, despite a preference for softer ground.

23-race maiden WARRIOR LION has had two runs for Jennie Candlish and shaped encouragingly last time. Maundy Thursday is next best.

About U.K Horse Racing

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.

There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.

The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.

Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.

In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.

Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
