17:42 Ffos Las (Class 6) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

NEPTUNE LEGEND is back on a winning mark and has plenty going for him in the this company. A good second to an in-form rival at Bath most recently, the Tony Carroll-trained gelding should be suited by these conditions. Many of the rest have been struggling to find their form but the likes of The Cola Kid, Oldbury Lad and Call Time could be on the premises.

Recent solid form is sparse and NEPTUNE LEGEND is a token selection on the back of a good recent second at Bath.

SHETAKESTHEGOLD has improved with each run and although she is no superstar, the daughter of Havana Gold certainly has the ability to follow up on her Catterick success. Woody Y Fernandez was only a length away in third that day and has a chance of turning the form around if this flatter track prompts some improvement. With first-time cheekpieces tried, nursery debutant Chilliconcarneigh could go well too.

A flyer is taken on nursery debutant DUBLIN BAY, who was pitched into a couple of good races before possibly resenting a hood.

18:50 Ffos Las (Class 6) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Tony Carroll suggested Son Of Astar benefited from dropping in trip and grade when he won over C&D 20 days ago. This isn't much tougher and a 2lb rise shouldn't inconvenience him. Nevertheless, reliability isn't his strong point and it might be more profitable to take a punt on SMOOTH SILESIE, who runs off 9lb below her last winning mark. Cabeza De Llave is another to consider.

The trailblazing SO SMART drops in class and he can prove a cut above today's opposition. Son Of Astar looks best of the rest.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

ZILFEE gets to race in a maiden for the second time despite coming home in front at Kempton last year only to be later disqualified. She rallied well to score over a furlong shorter that day and wears a first-time visor here which may help her focus. Whatamoon ran on well when second at Kempton latest and looks her main danger, while Kempton fourth El Megeeth is bred to be far better than she showed on debut.

This is a seriously well-bred field but ZILFEE can make amends for her disqualification since winning at Kempton last June.

Glencalvie is a distance winner having won at Chelmsford and Yarmouth in 2024 and, if she can get back to that level, she would be involved. BEAUNE was beaten less than a length into fourth over further here last time out and might be good enough to see these off, though both Fifty Sent and Royal Jet also have strong claims.

None of these are convincing but BEAUNE has been mostly consistent of late and this could be the day that he breaks his duck.

Atalanta Breeze hasn't been seen since a poor run on heavy ground at Newbury last October, but is interesting on her return. COGITAL won over C&D off 3lb lower last time despite being hampered and with Eddie Edge claiming 5lb, he looks the one to beat. Masterdream strolled home over fences at Worcester last month and could be an interesting alternative to the more obvious contenders.

The most likely winners appear to be QUEEN OF STEEL (nap) in her bid for a six-timer and veteran Cogital bidding for a C&D double.

About U.K Horse Racing

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.

There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.

The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.

Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.

In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.

Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
