(1) (6/5 +56%)Wojtek |
6/5(+56%) | (1) Wojtek 6/5, Out of depth and finished down the field in a 2yo race at York most recently; blinkers applied for the first time. Effective over 6f on fast ground, though his form has tailed off. Bitterly disappointing since a promising debut, but this is a weak nursery; blinkers on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (7/4 0%)She's Crafty |
7/4(0%) | (2) She's Crafty 7/4, Produced a better effort when beaten 4l in a novice over 5f at Nottingham last time; trainer in form. Effective over 5f, probably stays further, handles good to soft, and looks fairly treated off her opening mark. Caught the eye last time, suggesting return to 6f would suit; respected on nursery debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (4/1 -20%)Red Savitar |
4/1(-20%) | (3) Red Savitar 4/1, Ran to form when beaten 4 1/4l in a nursery at Kempton last time; visor on for the first time. Effective over 5-6f on good ground, though his mark appears stiff. Hasn't built on the promise of his first two starts on AW in the spring; visor on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (4/1 +33%)Plastered |
4/1(+33%) | (4) Plastered 4/1, Never travelled and was disappointing when well beaten in a maiden at Salisbury latest; may not be suited by fast ground and has a bit to prove. Seventh in all three maidens; watch market on nursery debut; has been gelded. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (10/1 +17%)Forever Glamorous |
10/1(+17%) | (5) Forever Glamorous 10/1, Showed similar form to his first two starts when well beaten in a maiden here most recently; yet to show much in sprint novices and difficult to assess. Open to progress switched to a nursery, but 6f on slow ground may not be an ideal scenario. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

SHE'S CRAFTY was noted finishing strongly for fifth over the minimum trip at Nottingham last time. The daughter of Starman has improved with every start so far, and it seems reasonable to expect further progress from Jack Morland's filly returning to 6f for her nursery debut. Wojtek struggled in a valuable sales race at York, but this will likely prove more his level, while Red Savitar gets a change of headgear and may improve.

This can go to SHE'S CRAFTY who suggested the return to 6f would suit when catching the eye at Nottingham last time.

Record here reads 212131, his last two wins coming over this trip; another big run likely. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

9/2(+40%) | (2) Guiteau 9/2, Ran to recent form when beaten 4l off 57 over 7f at Wolverhampton last time; cheekpieces on first time; effective at 7f and goes on good to soft; slightly below best recently. 2-28; hasn't raced over a trip this short since September 2023; new headgear combination. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (7/1 +72%)Autumn Festival |
7/1(+72%) | (4) Autumn Festival 7/1, Poor effort when beaten 7 1/4l in a 7f handicap at Chelmsford last time; enjoys making the running; effective 7-8f and acts on any ground; currently out of form. Hasn't shown much of late and losing run now up to 25; look elsewhere. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (8/1 -78%)Rock N It |
8/1(-78%) | (7) Rock N It 8/1, Well backed and ran to form when beaten 3 1/4l off 54 over 5f at Wolverhampton last time; effective 5/6f on a sound surface; solid efforts in handicaps so far. Not far behind two of these over C&D in July and 5f didn't suit last time; could go well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(10) (18/1 -13%)Redshore City |
18/1(-13%) | (10) Redshore City 18/1, Ran to form when beaten 3l in a classified race here last time; suited by 6f and best form with cut; consistent at this level. 1-38 and finished behind two of these over C&D 12 days ago; others preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(11) (33/1 -18%)Lady Dorchester |
33/1(-18%) | (11) Lady Dorchester 33/1, Ran to form when beaten 4l in a classified race here last time; trainer in form; effective 5/6f, handles soft and fast ground; appears to have settled at this new level. 0-17 and behind three of these over C&D 12 days ago; little appeal. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(12) (33/1 -18%)Pipkin |
33/1(-18%) | (12) Pipkin 33/1, Made little improvement for blinkers last time and is yet to show any worthwhile form. Out of the frame in six starts, as when behind three of these over C&D six weeks ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (33/1 0%)Angel's Call |
33/1(0%) | (5) Angel's Call 33/1, Slightly better after a break but still well below best when beaten 9l in an 8f handicap here last time; back after a short break; effective 5/6f on turf and all-weather; has regressed. Wolverhampton winner in April last year, but regressive in handicaps since. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Diamondsinthesand landed a classified contest over C&D recently, although Red Walls was beaten only a neck in second. The latter may well turn the tables on these more favourable terms, but PUNCHBOWL FLYER could prove the one to side with. John O'Shea's charge arrives in fine fettle, having won over 6f at Chepstow last month and run well in defeat twice since, and he can resume winning ways.

The vote goes to PUNCHBOWL FLYER who was beaten a nose off this mark over 7f last time, but has gained all eight wins over this trip.

8/1(+20%) | (4) Malachy's Wish 8/1, Met traffic but still ran a solid race when beaten 5 1/2l in a novice over 6f at Southwell on debut. Speedily bred and looks open to marked improvement. Unfortunate not to finish closer when fifth on Southwell debut; that was a promising start. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (10/1 -11%)Ebn Sabt |
10/1(-11%) | (2) Ebn Sabt 10/1, Green and well beaten in a 5f maiden at Salisbury on only start. Returns from a break and may be suited by 6f with some cut in the ground. Last of eight on Salisbury debut in May; should stay 7f but plenty of improvement required. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (12/1 -33%)Dylan Coastal |
12/1(-33%) | (7) Dylan Coastal 12/1, 13 Feb; Make Believe gelding; half-brother to Forest Hills, fair at 8f; yard in good form Stable can get them ready first time, but may be one for middle-distances next year. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

SAGREMOR finished a promising fifth in a valuable conditions race at Deauville on his debut last month and that form was boosted when the runner-up subsequently won a maiden at Ascot. Ice Cube faced a tougher test at York on his introduction a couple of weeks ago and improvement is expected from him, while Spanish Waltz is a newcomer to note.

The selection is SAGREMOR who showed up for a long way in a valuable newcomers' race at Deauville last month.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (15/8 -15%)Palio Di Siena |
15/8(-15%) | (3) Palio Di Siena 15/8, Well backed, produced best run so far when second, beaten 5l, in a novice over 6f at Salisbury last time; suited by 6f, barely stays 7f; big, attractive colt and consistent. Runner-up in four of his five starts including over C&D; should be right there again. |

8/1(-45%) | (5) Melosa 8/1, Poor effort, comfortably held in a maiden over 10f at Chelmsford last time; cheekpieces first time; looks flattered by French form and has plenty to prove now. Drop in trip may suit and cheekpieces are now added, but others make more appeal. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (80/1 -60%)Karismatique |
80/1(-60%) | (2) Karismatique 80/1, Poor effort, well beaten in a maiden over 8f at Lingfield on only start; bred to be suited by 10f; quite small and showed nothing on debut. Well-beaten last of 11 on his Lingfield debut last month. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Palio Di Siena failed to justify favouritism when second over 6f at Salisbury last month, but this step back up in distance looks the right move. Even so, a chance can be taken on COSMO GOODSPEED. The son of Churchill progressed from his first appearance to finish fourth at Kempton and is likely to have more improvement in him. Melosa is next best.

The lightly raced COSMO GOODSPEED can get off the mark having run so well at Kempton recently on his return from 133 days off.

Narrowly off the mark in an amateurs' event at Newcastle in June; form has worked out well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

8/1(+64%) | (9) Red Derek 8/1, Poor effort when well beaten in a handicap over 12f at Chester latest; off a short break; effective 10-14f, probably acts on any ground, likes give; out of form in 2025. Little in two starts after returning from six months off in June; needs a resurgence. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (16/1 +52%)Kirkuila |
16/1(+52%) | (5) Kirkuila 16/1, Down the field in a handicap hurdle over 2m at Worcester most recent; well beaten in all Flat starts; returning from a long layoff; tongue-tie first time; should need the run. Well beaten in 11 starts under both codes; stable debut after a year off; tongue-tie on. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

BUCK BARROW put his underwhelming eighth at Bath well behind him when second over 1m4f here last month and is just 3lb higher. The three-year-old arguably brings the best recent form to the table and looks the one to beat. Wyld Bill struck by a nose at Newcastle in June and if transferring that form to turf, he could have a say. Racing Demon sports a first-time visor and isn't ruled out either.

Preference is for four-time C&D winner ZAMBEZI MAGIC (nap) who endured a nigtmare passage here 12 days ago.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (3/1 +50%)Maxident |
3/1(+50%) | (4) Maxident 3/1, Game effort when beaten 1l off 78 here last time, running to form. Trainer in good form. Off a short break. Acts on soft ground and generally consistent over staying trips. Goes well on soft ground; makes stable debut after 72 days off; may find a couple too good. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (11/2 -10%)Mighty Bandit |
11/2(-10%) | (3) Mighty Bandit 11/2, Well backed and returned to form when landing a handicap by 4l off 76 here last time. Effective from 12-14f and probably acts on any ground. Up 6lb but remains on a fair mark. Won in fine style under a positive ride over C&D (good) five weeks ago; respected. |

(1) (8/1 +20%)Anzac Day |
8/1(+20%) | (1) Anzac Day 8/1, Poor effort when well beaten in a 2m handicap at Chelmsford last time, probably failing to stay. Top course trainer. Off a short break. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (25/1 -178%)Lusaka |
25/1(-178%) | (6) Lusaka 25/1, Back to form when suited by the trip, going away but not willingly, landing a 1m5f handicap by 3 1/4l off 67 at Newbury last time. Off a short break. Suited by 13/14f and acts on good to soft and good to firm. Not the most straightforward. C&D winner; made all last time; other front-runners and soft ground would pose questions. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

The unexposed GNOMON had plenty in hand when winning over an extended 1m3f at Haydock on Friday and Ralph Beckett's gelding can defy a 5lb penalty on the quick turnaround. Mighty Bandit also scored on his most recent outing and should not be underestimated, although this is more demanding. Cases can be made for all of the remainder, but Maxident is the pick of them.

Three of these won their latest starts including MIGHTY BANDIT who scored in good style from the front over C&D last month.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (10/3 +5%)Lhebayeb |
10/3(+5%) | (3) Lhebayeb 10/3, Made a bit too much use of and was beaten 3l off 59 here last time. Effective at 8/9f but does not handle good to firm; inconsistent overall. Well suited by soft ground; record in Class 6 company since March reads 4124112; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (9/2 -112%)Sofian |
9/2(-112%) | (2) Sofian 9/2, Returned to form when landing a handicap by a short-head off 60 here last time. Best suited by 7f or an easy mile and a sound surface, but not proven on soft; mark looks on the stiff side. Two best efforts have come here, narrowly getting off the mark over C&D five weeks ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (5/1 +29%)Queen Of Good News |
5/1(+29%) | (4) Queen Of Good News 5/1, Ran as if something was amiss when well beaten in a handicap over 1m at Newmarket (July) last time. Had been in good form before; tongue-tie on first time. Effective at 7-8f, handles soft but ideally wants a sound surface; bit to prove. 0-10; placed three times before a lesser effort in June; tongue-tie on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (6/1 +40%)Happy Chandler |
6/1(+40%) | (5) Happy Chandler 6/1, Undermined by a bad start when well beaten in a handicap at Salisbury last time. In good form prior and effective at 7/8f; acts on any ground. Generally solid and can bounce back. 0-11. but twice ran well at Chepstow in the summer; could go well if allowed his own way. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (15/2 +32%)First Encounter |
15/2(+32%) | (6) First Encounter 15/2, Scored by 5 1/2l off 45 over 1m at Salisbury on his penultimate start. Made too much use of last time. Effective at 1m-10f and handles any ground, but good runs have been few and far between. Bolted up at Salisbury in July, but that effort is flanked by two heavy defeats. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Sofian got off the mark over C&D a month ago and has to be noted as a result. That said, a 3lb rise demands more from him and preference is for GOLDEN PHARAOH. Scott Dixon's gelding showed improvement when third over a mile at Doncaster last time and makes plenty of appeal off 1lb lower. Lhebayeb and Queen Of Good News complete the shortlist.

The vote goes to LHEBAYEB who should have conditions in her favour, while the drop back in grade is another positive.
Ths is the racecard key.

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
