The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

A lightly-raced mare who beat a solid yardstick at Roscommon, LA NOTE VERTE can follow up. Tailed off on her racecourse debut on heavy ground at Fairyhouse in March 2024, the Willie Mullins-trained five-year-old has remained unbeaten in three subsequent starts. Winning with any amount in hand recently, the daughter of Australia has the potential to improve further provided she settles better on this stiff track. Having landed four of her six outings over flights, Emily Love is a battle-hardened mare who won't be easily beat. She deserves maximum respect. Avondale and the unbeaten Timeless Treaty are also of interest.

Quite a hot novice but LA NOTE VERTE (nap) could take plenty of beating after the impression she gave at Roscommon

|F| (4) (5/1 +50%)Jet Setting Jim |
5/1(+50%) | (4) Jet Setting Jim 5/1, Would've won same contest last year but for falling, back to best form second beaten 1 1/4l in a beginners chase chase over 2m1f at Tipperary latest; each way claims Second in a 2m Tipperary beginners' last time; should be involved with a repeat of that. |

Twice placed in Grade 1 races over hurdles, the Gordon Elliott-trained KING OF KINGSFIELD can make the breakthrough over fences. Runner-up at Navan last November on his only previous run in this discipline, the seven-year-old should be able to make his class count. Having adopted pacemaking duties for much of last season, he is likely to be ridden with more restraint on this occasion. A 143-rated hurdler, the son of Vadamos is an exciting prospect for this time of the year. A bumper and novice hurdle winner at the track, My Great Mate is sure to have been campaigned with this meeting in mind and shouldn't be far away under Paul Townend. Tipperary runner-up Jet Setting Jim is another with leading claims.

MY GREAT MATE is a dual winner at this track and seems to be his powerful yard's first-string so is selected.

125/1(-89%) | (6) Pretty Liz 125/1, 7 Feb; Footstepsinthesand filly; may just need this initial experience; best watched Footstepsinthesand filly; unlikely one on debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (300/1 -200%)Trusty Tycoon |
300/1(-200%) | (8) Trusty Tycoon 300/1, 25 Mar; River Boyne filly; half-sister to Rendition, useful at 10f; dam fair at 8f; wide draw; best watched Debutante best watched. |

Having only got the hang of things late on when third on her debut at Leopardstown, AMELIA EARHART can improve past runner-up Thenandnow. Sent off a well-backed favourite, the Aidan O'Brien-trained filly ran green over a furlong out before keeping on late. She should know a bit more on this second start. Thenandnow was always front rank before sticking to her task under Shane Foley. From a favourable low draw, the Dubawi filly is sure to be up with the pace from the outset. Given that Paddy Twomey trained the winner of that Leopardstown race, his representative Black Caviar Gold has to be respected.

With the benefit of experience and her rider's claim, AMELIA EARHART can now reverse Leopardstown form with Thenandnow

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (13) (33/1 +0%)Monasterboice |
33/1(+0%) | (13) Monasterboice 33/1, Below par well beaten in a handicap over 8f at Naas latest; generally out of form; enjoys making it; off a short-break; dropping in weights but must bounce back Progressive last summer and hard to fancy on this year's form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (14) (7/1 +22%)Grey Leader |
7/1(+22%) | (14) Grey Leader 7/1, Below par beaten 2 1/2l off 85 over 8f at Killarney last time; won at this meeting last year; versatile ground wise; trainer in form; contender Killarney second encouraging; ideally wants easier ground but don't rule out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
14th (7) (7/1 -17%)Slieve Binnian |
7/1(-17%) | (7) Slieve Binnian 7/1, Bit in hand landing a Nasrullah Handicap by 2l off 88 over at Leopardstown last time; thriving at present; needs stiff test but chance if getting it Two recent premier handicap wins; up 13lb but remains a likely big player. |

Second in this last year, NORWALK HAVOC can go one place better. Winner of a Listed race at Leopardstown subsequently, the Jessica Harrington-trained four-year-old looks to have been campaigned with a repeat bid in mind. Following a promising reappearance in a Group 3 last month, the son of Showcasing should be primed for this contest. A prominent racer, he is much more favourably drawn than he was 12 months ago. Slieve Binnian, who has been a revelation for connections in recent weeks, looks a serious threat. The David Marnane-trained gelding quickened up smartly to win a premier handicap at Leopardstown last time. Mississippi River is also worthy of consideration in a typically competitive renewal.

Over this slightly shorter trip and with his rider's claim MISSISSIPPI RIVER can reverse Leopardstown form with Slieve Binnian

COLLECTING COIN can get off the mark at the third time of asking. The Jessica Harrington-trained gelding finished third on his racecourse debut at Cork back in April, before going down narrowly at the Curragh the following month. In a race where most of the leading contenders appear relatively exposed, the son of Lope De Vega looks one of few potential improvers. Unlucky in running at Limerick recently, Gran Habano should be competitive. Less than a length behind the selection at the Curragh, there is unlikely to be much between the pair again. Adieu Spirit is a newcomer worth keeping an eye on in the betting.

Preference is for COLLECTING COIN, gelded since being caught late by a potentially smart type at the Curragh in May

Following a promising reappearance at Killarney, IMPOSING SUPREME should be primed for this contest. Third last year, the Tom Gibney-trained grey justified favouritism when successful here a few days later. A dual winner at the meeting back in 2021, the nine-year-old always deserves maximum respect at Ballybrit. Alpha Capture seems another who has been campaigned with this meeting in mind. Runner-up here last year, the Willie Mullins-trained gelding was unlucky on his return at Leopardstown. While he had no obvious excuses at Killarney last time, there will be plenty who give him another chance. Summer Snow should be suited to this track, while reserve On A Session would be of interest if getting a run.

SUMMER SNOW got a hefty rise for winning at Down Royal last time but that form was franked since and she can win again.

SPECKLED MEADOW has each-way claims in a wide-open affair. Runner-up last year, the Don Browne-trained mare is a previous winner at this track. There was plenty to like about her recent comeback effort at Leopardstown, where she stayed on late into mid-division. Granted normal improvement from that first start since November, the eight-year-old should be competitive. Loingseoir has shaped well enough of late to suggest he still retains plenty of ability at this level. Nicola Burns is a positive jockey booking on the veteran. Just For One Day would have every chance if behaving herself in the stalls and breaking on terms.

RAMPAGE is a C&D winner who has hit form lately and might represent a bit better value. His draw isn't ideal but is manageable.
Ths is the racecard key.
