17:25 Goodwood (Class 5) 9f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

PLATINUM PRINCE displayed plenty of promise when second on his seasonal return at Brighton 10 days ago and given the winner of that contest has struck again since, the eight-year-old merits the utmost respect off the same mark here. Foreseen also hit the crossbar on his most recent outing and could prove to be the main danger, although Latin and Port Erin are others with valid form claims.

A tricky starter. UNCLE DICK has made his name at Brighton but he's performed respectably in two of his three runs here.

17:59 Goodwood (Class 4) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

ALERTA MAXIMA took a step forward from her debut effort when winning over 6f at this venue on her sole subsequent start in June last year. With the promise of more to come, she could be hard to stop on her return to action. Callisto Dream wasn't beaten far despite finishing sixth at Wolverhampton last time and she should not be written off. Any market support for Silent City ahead of her racecourse bow would have to be noted.

Ed Bethell doesn't have many runners at Goodwood and CALLISTO DREAM may be up to defying a penalty.

18:34 Goodwood (Class 5) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Recent Bath winner Kensington Agent has to be of interest despite a 3lb rise. That said, marginal preference is for CABLES QUEEN, who remains unexposed and was not disgraced when third over 7f on her handicap debut at Brighton a week ago. The drop in trip should suit the four-year-old and may even bring about further improvement. Momaer edges out Ashford Hill to be best of the rest.

Although she failed favourite backers at Windsor recently, MOMAER (nap) endured a wide trip from her tricky draw and ran very well.

19:09 Goodwood (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

WHIZZ BY hasn't finished outside of the top three since competing in the handicap ranks, most recently filling the runner-up spot at Kempton. Tom Ward's filly is just 1lb higher for that display and she could be the one to beat. Mahra's Love has shown a fair amount of ability in her three starts in maiden/novice company and is one to note on her handicap debut, while Berkshire Smudge also merits consideration.

Mahra's Love and Whizz By are feared but EMPORESS is likeable and went close here on her only previous attempt at 7f.

19:44 Goodwood (Class 4) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Despite being slowly away, DRAMATIC EFFECT outran her odds of 20/1 to finish third at Kempton in April and competes off an unchanged rating here. The four-year-old's sole career success came over C&D and she could prove hard to beat. Serenity Dream finished a fair third at Windsor last time and may have more to offer on only his third outing for the Tony Carroll yard, while Dutch Decoy is the pick of the remainder.

The filly DRAMATIC EFFECT won her novice here and the run at Kempton has to go down as a revival of sorts having been slowly away.

20:19 Goodwood (Class 4) 11f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

ZAYINA could only manage fourth over 1m2f at Brighton in April, but this represents a drop in grade and she sports first-time cheekpieces. George Boughey's filly has only had one attempt over this distance and could have more to offer. Big Bear Hug made the frame at Nottingham when last seen and is an interesting contender on her first appearance for the Jim Boyle stable, with Isle Of Sark another to note.

Some of these have serious questions to answer and despite her career-high mark BIG BEAR HUG comfortably looks the most solid.
