The value may lie with KURAKKA, who finished a highly creditable third over an inadequate 1m2f at Newmarket's July meeting and should be far more at home going back up in trip. A taking winner at Haydock in May on his only go at this distance, Alan King's charge is preferred to the Ralph Beckett pairing of Sing Us A Song, who is better than what he showed in the King George V at Royal Ascot, and easy Salisbury scorer Cape Breton. Omni Man is another to note along with the improving Sudu.

A field packed with major interest. It may prove best to keep faith with SING US A SONG, whose slow start sunk him at Royal Ascot.

JABAARA may have disappointed when fifth behind reopposing all-weather specialist Cloud Cover at Chelmsford last time out, but she is much better judged on her previous success at Musselburgh. Roger Varian's charge was first past the post in this contest last year, only to be demoted to second due to interference, and she can gain much deserved compensation. A comfortable winner over further at Deauville earlier in the month, the consistent Bright Thunder must be of interest, along with the unexposed Tabiti, who wasn't beaten far when third in the Sandringham last month.

Having caught the eye when keeping on for fourth in a 6f Group 3 at Newbury recently, FAIR ANGELLICA earns the vote now back up to 7f.

It is difficult to look past LADY IMAN, who showed strong pace in the Airlie Stud at the Curragh last time out, only to be worn down in the final furlong. Unbeaten in three starts before that, the daughter of Starman is likely to appreciate dropping back to the minimum trip and the booking of Ryan Moore can only aid her cause. Narrowly denied in Listed company at Sandown most recently, Military Code is entitled to be thereabouts again, as well as Ameeq, who outran large odds to finish a highly creditable fourth in the Norfolk last month.

Some in here have speed to burn and a fast-run 5f should play into the hands of LADY IMAN whose form stacks up impressively.

Rosallion shaped as if he'd come on plenty for his return run in the Lockinge at Newbury and did exactly that at Royal Ascot, running a blinder in defeat in the Queen Anne. Just a nose separated Richard Hannon's colt and Ascot specialist Docklands and it would come as no surprise if that form was reversed. However, they've all got FIELD OF GOLD to beat if he arrives in the same scintillating form as when bolting up in the St James's Palace Stakes. He was arguably the most impressive winner all week at Ascot and he had the reopposing French Guineas winner Henri Matisse three and a half lengths back in second.

Emerging star FIELD OF GOLD looks set to produce another stunning performance. Rosallion may well prove the closest pursuer.

A competitive handicap in which Andrew Balding's filly MUSIC PIECE could be worth chancing back over 10 furlongs. She struggled to land a telling blow off this mark over 1m4f at Ascot recently, but did shape well over C&D the time before in Listed company when beaten a neck into second. Roger Varian's unexposed all-weather scorer Model Yuko is another to take seriously and a big run from Ashariba would come as no surprise back on turf.

The 3yos, some seriously unexposed, have to be feared but preference is for two of the older contingent in AKECHETA and Ashariba.

ZELAINA made a strong impression when justifying favouritism on her introduction at Nottingham prior to her eighth in the Queen Mary at Royal Ascot last month. The daughter of Mehmas should be suited by this test more than last time and sets the standard with an official rating of 92. Desert Jungle improved on her first outing to score in a first-time hood at Catterick last time and she has to be taken seriously. Of the remainder, Lebron Power makes the most appeal.

This could set up nicely for LUNA MIA, who is an interesting alternative to top-rated Zelaina.

Crimson Spirit secured a hat-trick in good style at Epsom earlier in the month and is just 6lb higher, but this represents a step up in grade. With that in mind, DEFENCE MINISTER looks the way to go. Hamad Al Jehani's colt occupied the runner-up berth at this level at Sandown on his latest outing and the handicapper may have been kind to only put him up 1lb. With a similar performance, he could be the one to beat. Physique and Leadman are others to watch out for.

Having registered a very solid win at the Newmarket July festival, LEADMAN (nap) is preferred. Defence Minister is second pick.
Ths is the racecard key.
