13:50 Haydock (Class 5) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Having landed an apprentice handicap at Doncaster last weekend, OCEAN HEIGHTS is sure to prove a warm order. David Pipe's inmate is wisely turned out before his revised mark takes effect and a brace could be on the cards. Highwaygrey is now 1lb lower than his last winning figure and his latest fourth at Pontefract suggests that the veteran's turn isn't far away. He is feared most, ahead of the lightly-raced Steps In Time.

Preference is for OCEAN HEIGHTS, who escapes a penalty for Saturday's 2l win in an apprentice handicap at Doncaster.

14:25 Haydock (Class 3) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

There were plenty of positives to be gleaned from FITZELLA's debut second over 5f at Ascot and that experience could prove crucial. The daughter of Too Darn Hot is bred to relish the step up in distance and she sets a good standard for the newcomers to aim at. Top of that list is Tahalel, who fetched 500,000 euros as a yearling, with Warriors Choice the pick of the remainder.

Some interesting newcomers but FITZELLA sets a strong standard having kept on well for a close second over 5f at Ascot.

15:00 Haydock (Class 1) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

Having disappointed when only fifth on her reappearance at Newmarket, Unequal Love will need to improve. William Haggas' mare, who made the frame in the Sprint Cup here, would prove tough to beat judged on the pick of last year's efforts, but it may be worth taking a chance on the unexposed PRIME ART. The four-year-old offered plenty to work with when fifth in a Group 3 at York last summer and a similar performance could suffice. The in-form Frost At Dawn must also enter the reckoning.

She was underwhelming on her reappearance but last year's C&D Group 1 Sprint Cup third UNEQUAL LOVE is taken to bounce back with a win.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

A son of Too Darn Hot, WILD DESERT is a half-brother to dual Group 1 winners Shadow Of Light and Earthlight. It will be no surprise if the Godolphin colt proves a warm order on his introduction, especially with his trainer in such fine form. Last Verse was an early foal and includes a dual Group 2 winner among his four successful relatives. He could be far enough forward to have a say, while Port Darwin is preferred of the remainder.

Godolphin colt WILD DESERT is taken to provide Charlie Appleby with yet another first-time-out 2yo winner.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

TSUKI ran green at Goodwood on debut, but was still talented enough to return the cosy winner. She will have learned plenty from that initial experience and the daughter of Kameko is taken to defy a penalty. Suite Francaise also made a successful introduction, over 7f at Newcastle last autumn, and this extra yardage will suit. Huggable has plenty to find with the selection on Goodwood running, although she stumbled badly and can finish closer.

Huggable may get closer to TSUKI at these weights but the Haggas-trained filly is open to improvement herself and can make it 2-2.

Narrowly denied over further behind a subsequent winner at Wolverhampton last time out, SONIC PIONEER looks the one to beat off just a 1lb higher rating. A promising third when sent off favourite for his handicap debut at Chester back in the autumn, Groundsman may improve for going up in distance on his return. Adorla Of Achill is another to note on the back of a creditable effort at Nottingham.

Last week's Newbury third GLENRIDDING could appreciate the drop back in trip and he earns the vote ahead of Adorla Of Achill.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

The Julie Camacho stable has a good record here and this appeals as an ideal opportunity for CARLYLE SQUARE to get off the mark following a somewhat unlucky narrow defeat at Doncaster, when carried left approaching the final furlong. Must Believe almost broke the maiden at Wolverhampton last month and he should be thereabouts again, along with recent Yarmouth third Antelope.

The filly CARLYLE SQUARE (nap) went close on handicap debut at Doncaster despite the steady gallop being against her, and gets the nod.
