18:00 Haydock (Class 5) 11f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Bred in the purple with his dam a multiple Group 1 winner, BURJ ZABEEL should be capable of breaking the maiden on his first go over 1m4f. He's had a gelding operation since being narrowly denied at Redcar last month. Another one with a lofty pedigree, Alibey didn't show much first time out at Goodwood but stepping up in trip on a more conventional track is likely to suit, while Maraaheb is likely to give his running.

This looks a good opportunity for BURJ ZABEEL, who sets a clear standard on her close call behind an odds-on rival at Redcar.

18:40 Haydock (Class 4) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

SPHERICAL was thought good enough to contest a Listed race at Newmarket on her final start last season, and this represents a steep drop in grade on her return. The daughter of Blue Point looks capable of improving this year and she is narrowly preferred to the in-form Sugar Hill Babe, who had Glamorous Breeze (third) behind when a creditable second at Lingfield latest.

Top of the list is SUGAR HILL BABE (nap), who has been as good as ever this season and was runner-up behind an improver at Lingfield.

19:15 Haydock (Class 2) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

GOLD DAWN shaped with abundant promise on debut over C&D last month when second under Oisin Murphy. With that experience under his belt, the son of Havana Gold can go one better in what looks an easier contest, with Penhallam looking the best placed to chase him home following a strong debut effort at Leicester. Similar comments apply to Eyes Front, who was second at the same track earlier in the month.

The vote goes to GOLD DAWN, who showed plenty of promise with his debut second over C&D last month.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Disappointing having attracted significant market support on his return from a 534-day absence at Leicester, before going under the radar to score at Doncaster latest, a confident vote goes to DUKE'S COMMAND. Mudamer, who hit the crossbar on Town Moor recently, looks to be the main threat, although Eagle Day should not be underestimated if one poor run at York can be forgiven.

Most of these have something to prove but DUKE'S COMMAND won a Doncaster handicap on Sunday and he's open to more progress.

20:15 Haydock (Class 4) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

ARKHALIA FLYNN was steadily progressive last term and there was plenty to like about his recent Goodwood second. The son of Ulysses is able to compete off an unchanged mark but jockey Rose Dawes takes off a handy 5lb, so it would come as no great surprise were he to regain the winning thread. Bodorgan is unlikely to be far away, although the lightly-raced She's A Warrior could be a bigger threat.

An open race in which the vote goes to last year's runner-up BODORGAN, who has been knocking on the door in his two runs this season.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Just over a month ago, POMME POMME was successful off an opening handicap mark of 47. The progressive Coulsty filly arrives on the back of three subsequent successes and from a whopping 25lb higher, but she was in command at Bath latest and might not be done improving yet. Ottoman put his best foot forward to record a comfortable victory at Leicester earlier this month and he merits respect, as does Wetherby victor Betty Bassett.

It might be worth sticking with POMME POMME, who made it 4-4 in handicaps when beating a clear second at Beverley last Saturday.

About U.K Horse Racing

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.

There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.

The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.

Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.

In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.

Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
