17:40 Haydock (Class 3) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Clear Force will find life easier in this nursery having faced a couple of tough assignments since landing a novice race at Ripon. He has bags of early pace, but will likely be taken on for the lead by Under The Radar, and that could play into the hands of SILENT APPLAUSE. Charlie Appleby's charge beat a subsequent winner with the minimum of fuss at Nottingham on his first start over 5f and could prove better than his opening mark.

Godolphin's SILENT APPLAUSE cost 1,400,000gns at the breeze-ups in April and is open to improvement on his nursery debut.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

SALIGO BAY won an amateur race over 1m4f when last seen at this venue in May. This longer trip holds no fears for Sam England's inmate, given he's subsequently scored over hurdles, and he returns to this code with a leading chance. Nibras Gold also reverts to the Flat with solid claims having made all at Beverley in June, while Fast Fred won under Pippa Brown at Carlisle this summer and can make his presence felt once again.

Top of the list is NIBRAS GOLD (nap), who is 2-3 on the Flat since joining James Owen.

RESPOND was trapped on the rail entering the final furlong at Sandown last time, but he rallied strongly for second once switched for a clear run and will likely be winning soon on that evidence. Windsor runner-up Mukhtalif has shaped nicely in both outings so far and this return to quicker ground will suit, while Twilight Safari is heading in the right direction based on his solid second at Pontefract last time.

The sole filly BINTKEND rallied for a promising fourth over 1m here on her debut and looks nailed on to appreciate this longer trip.

19:25 Haydock (Class 3) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

A few with chances but preference is for WHAT'S THE PLAN, who outperformed market expectation when filling the runner-up spot on his debut. The winner now boasts an official rating of 88 and the fourth-placed rival has since won, so any progression might suffice here. That said, Newcastle second Beny Nahar ought to be a real threat with Oisin Murphy booked, while Red Spells Danger and the Karl Burke-trained debutant Shayem could also be involved.

James Fanshawe isn't known for first-time-out 2yo winners so the debut second of WHAT'S THE PLAN bodes very well for his future.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

A confident vote goes to MOONSHINE. Ed Walker's filly displayed signs of inexperience on her debut at Newbury but kept on well into third nonetheless. The daughter of Starman looks sure to benefit from the extra furlong she encounters here and is expected to go in at the second time of asking. The others with experience can be passed over, so it could be that newcomers Samra Green and Amazing Anita provide the strongest challenge.

Ed Walker does well with his 2yos here and MOONSHINE sets a strong form standard following her debut third at Newbury three weeks ago.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Both Stratocracy and Crown's Lady have been in excellent form recently and must enter calculations, as must Beaming Light, who hit the woodwork when attempting to complete a four-timer at Doncaster most recently. However, it might pay to side with RASCAL RECKNELL. The gelded son of Wootton Bassett took a giant leap forward to score on his first start for Mick Appleby in June and given that he remains well treated from 2lb higher, there should be more in the locker.

A chance is taken on last year's second THAPA VC who is well handicapped and has a very solid record under the returning Jim Crowley.
