TITIAN had been running well in defeat prior to his success at York in June. Julie Camacho's gelding was only raised 4lb for that performance, so he remains attractively handicapped and is expected to go close once again. Three-year-old Big Sip remains open to improvement and must enter the reckoning, while returning to quicker ground ought to favour His Finest Hour.

Another chance is given to HIS FINEST HOUR who may still have further progress in him. Yokohama is second pick.

A few with chances but the vote goes to LIL BROTHER. Outclassed in the Norfolk before bumping into an improver on his nursery debut, he now tackles 6f for the first time. It's expected to suit the Showcasing colt and he could gain compensation. Vlad got his day in the sun at Windsor most recently and is respected from 3lb higher, along with Jan Steen, who switches to nurseries having struggled in the Windsor Castle last time.

Although he prevailed only narrowly at Windsor, VLAD may well build on that win and show progress. Jan Steen is second pick.

Pretty Danielle wasn't beaten far in behind a smart filly when third at Windsor last month. That effort sets a clear standard and she could prove tough to beat with further improvement likely, but a chance can be taken on NO DIRECTION. The Karl Burke-trained debutant has plenty of speed in his pedigree and it wouldn't come as any great surprise were he up to the task. Others to note include Authentic Charm and Hardy's Hero.

Some of the newcomers have good credentials, particularly NO DIRECTION and Authentic Charm. Pretty Danielle has the best form.

SPRING IS SPRUNG has hit a rich vein of form of late, and a 3lb rise for his most recent success at Chelmsford may not be enough to prevent him from landing a hat-trick. Hurt You Never arrives in search of her fifth victory this season and is respected along with last-time-out winners Acrisius and Curious Rover, who are capable of being in the shake-up as well.

This should be fast and furious and Classy Al and ACRISIUS (nap) could be the ones to pick up the pieces.

A slight disappointment when third over 6f at Doncaster last month, BINT MOHAATHER is much better judged on her previous success over this distance at Wolverhampton and a mark of 77 on handicap debut could underestimate her. Arriving on the back of a taking success at Carlisle, Lorna B can follow Jack Channon's filly home, while Powdering bounced back to form with a creditable fourth at Goodwood recently.

The Verdict comprises the two contenders who look open to further improvement, namely BINT MOHAATHER and Lorna B.

Mr King finished a respectable third at York last time and is likely to prove competitive once again, but MYSTERYOFTHESANDS makes most appeal. Tim Easterby's progressive charge secured his third win of the season when scoring in convincing fashion at Beverley last month, and a 4lb rise may not be enough to prevent him adding to his tally. Novice winner Degale is worth noting handicapping for the first time on his belated reappearance.

The selection is MR KING who ran well to finish third in a big field at York last time.

STRING OF PEARLS improves with every step up in distance, having won over 1m4f before landing the odds over 1m6f at Yarmouth. Sir Mark Prescott's filly has strong claims with this extra test of stamina likely to bring further progress. Belgravian won nicely over the extended 2m at Doncaster last month and is another on the upgrade, while the dual-bumper winner Dino Bellagio remains unexposed on the Flat after scoring at Southwell.

Sir Mark Prescott's filly STRING OF PEARLS gets the narrow vote over Belgravian in an interesting clash of improving 3yos.
Ths is the racecard key.
