It is interesting that John McConnell sends Bold Reflection over for what will be her first run since finishing down the field in a Grade 3 bumper at Punchestown back in April 2023. However, the vote goes to point-to-point winner QUEENS SECRET, who is taken to make a winning Rules debut in what doesn't appear to be a contest with much depth. Maiori is entitled to step forward from his fourth at Ayr earlier in the month.

The standard set by those with hurdling experience isn't a great one and this could therefore go to point winner QUEENS SECRET.

SCOTTISH KING backed up his Market Rasen victory at Plumpton earlier this month and the 10-year-old has every chance of landing a hat-trick following a 2lb rise for that success. Didntgotwenty won in fine style on his third start over fences at Musselburgh and is likely to enter calculations, while West Lawn is capable of being in the mix after her second at Catterick.

Preference is for the progressive SCOTTISH KING, who showed a good attitude when going in at Plumpton and can now complete a hat-trick.

EDDIE MY EAGLE has progressed with each start over hurdles and arrives seeking a third win on the bounce following his most recent success on handicap debut at Newbury. A 4lb rise seems to be very fair for Dan Horsford's gelding and he can prove too strong for the opposition. He's Bresilian won well at Carlisle last month and is a strong contender once again, while Freddy Robinson's win at Market Rasen in December warrants him a place on the shortlist.

Jennie Candlish's FROMHERETOETERNITY shaped well when a patiently ridden fourth at Doncaster and can build on it go 3-3 over this C&D.

A winner over an extended 3m5f at Bangor, PLANNED PARADISE has fewer doubts than many over this marathon trip and, having won off the same mark in January 2025, Christian Williams' 10-year-old has plenty to recommend him here. Wal Buck's takes a drop in class and must be feared despite the burden of joint top weight. The low-milage Jo Coko as well as the consistent Court At Slip are others capable of being on the premises at the business end.

The very lightly raced 7yo JO COKO looked a good prospect for marathon races when winning over 3m2f at Uttoxeter in January.

33/1(+0%) | (13) Chosen Hero 33/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Leicester latest; tongue-tie first time; off a short-break; effective 2m, acts with cut; appears regressive. Pulled up in handicap at Leicester latest; tongue tied first time; easy to look elsewhere. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Cold Henry was a game winner over an extended 3m1f at Catterick and may well cope with the 5lb rise imposed. However, he has a tendency to jump left and dropping in trip could catch him out. Therefore, the less-exposed ANOTHER HIGH FIVE could be a more rewarding option, given he has bags of scope for progression on just his second start in a handicap. Drop Kick, Gardener and So Many Roads are others to bear in mind.

This can go the way of LES'S LEGACY, who took this in 2025 and looks primed for another bold showing in his bid for a fifth course win.

BIG JOHN WAYNE stepped forward from his return to action on chase debut at Ayr when finishing third at the same venue last time. The eight-year-old is likely to improve again from that effort and has an ideal opportunity to get off the mark. Casual Observer finished second on his chasing bow at Bangor and looks the obvious threat to the selection. Ned Tanner appears best of the remainder.

Lambourn raider CASUAL OBSERVER (nap) is taken to build on last month's chase debut second at Bangor and account for Big John Wayne.

EMIKO won at Dromahane in November before selling for 75,000 pounds at Cheltenham soon after and Alan King's mare wouldn't need to be out of the ordinary to make a winning debut under Rules. Lady Bam arrives having scored on her second attempt in the pointing sphere and commands plenty of respect, while Bredas Pearl and Abbotrule are a couple of newcomers to note.

Alan King has his string in great nick and his Walk In The Park mare EMIKO, an emphatic Irish points scorer, can add to the tally.
Ths is the racecard key.
