16:28 Hexham (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

BARON DE MIDLETON occupied the runner-up berth in a class 2 handicap at Kelso two starts ago and, if the 12-year-old runs anywhere near that level, he will prove very hard to beat. Jubilee Gold finished a fair third over 2m3f at Taunton last week and is likely to be thereabouts, while Kopa Kilana is another to watch out for.

This is a tricky race but JUBILEE GOLD ought to be suited by this stiff 2m on good or faster ground and is arguably the safest option.

17:00 Hexham (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

DESTINATION DUBAI has taken a step forward with each of his three bumper starts, with his best effort coming when taking the silver medal home in a Grade 2 at Aintree. The six-year-old now makes his first start over hurdles and is tough to oppose. Saxon Star showed more when third at Newcastle on her jumping bow and may improve for the application of blinkers. Of the remainder, newcomer Flat Jack makes the most appeal.

This looks an excellent opportunity for Grade 2 bumper runner-up DESTINATION DUBAI to make a winning start over hurdles.

17:35 Hexham (Class 3) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Shakeyatailfeather prevailed by a short head to record a quickfire double at Plumpton and should remain competitive off 4lb higher. However, FIRST STREET filled the runner-up spot in this class at Kempton in March and the assessor may have given the eight-year-old a chance by dropping him 1lb for that effort. With Brian Hughes booked, it would be no surprise to see him get off the mark over fences. Coqolino isn't out of it either.

Bang-in-form mare Shakeyatailfeather is not opposed lightly but the class act in the line-up is FIRST STREET.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

MOON CHIME looks worthy of another chance, having been brought down early in the race at Aintree. He was an impressive winner at Stratford previously and can defy a hike in the weights given the ease of that success. Sedgefield winner Klitschko was well beaten at Perth and has a bit to prove in this higher grade, although the return to good ground will suit. Horn Cape was narrowly denied in this contest last year and is worthy of a second glance.

Four-time course winner WELL EDUCATED (nap) shaped quite well in a valuable race last month and is back on a good mark now.

It could pay to stick with TOP OF THE BAY, despite a 7lb rise for going in at Carlisle a fortnight ago. He was having only his third start for Sam England's yard when returning the ready winner and another good effort looks assured. Ribeye won this back in 2023 and is worthy of consideration after showing signs of a return to form at Newcastle. Am Still Here is one to note on his chasing debut.

Low-mileage 8yo TOP OF THE BAY came good with a wide-margin win at Carlisle a fortnight ago and is taken to overcome a 7lb rise.

19:10 Hexham (Class 5) 24f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

SUPER CITIZEN won at Carlisle before finding a well-handicapped rival too good at Kelso. The veteran returns to this lower grade with every chance and can edge out C'Est Quelqu'un, who also drops in class and confirmed he was in good order when finishing strongly for third at Sedgefield. Kicksaftersix returned a cosy winner over C&D recently and is no forlorn hope.

The suggestion is COULDBEAWEAPON, who is very well handicapped on old form and didn't run badly on his recent stable debut.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

RUMBLE B has been knocking on the door on his last couple of starts in similar contests at Catterick and Wetherby, and the 11-year-old has been found a suitable opportunity to get his head back in front. Romeo Brown's recent course form entitles him to a place on the shortlist, while Killybegs Jet Lady is capable of better following her second at Newcastle.

Preference is for dual C&D winner RUMBLE B, who went close behind an improver at Wetherby last time.

20:10 Hexham (Class 5) 23f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

TARBAT NESS produced his best effort so far over hurdles when filling the runner-up spot at Huntingdon, before returning to the level and finishing in the same position at Pontefract. The step up in trip in this discipline promises to yield improvement and he may take advantage of a contest lacking much depth on paper. Express Run is of interest following a wind operation, while C&D winner Robert d'Ores appears best of the remainder.

This can go to TARBAT NESS, who is unexposed over hurdles and has finished runner-up under both codes in his last two runs.
