1st (3) (7/1 -250%)Only In Manila |
7/1(-250%) | (3) Only In Manila 7/1, Made too much use of in cheekpieces when fourth beaten 5l in a novice at Lingfield latest; effective at 8f, acts on GF and AW; this step up in trip not certain to suit. Strong form claims but his last run was a backward step when tried in cheekpieces. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (3/1 -20%)New Bay Star |
3/1(-20%) | (2) New Bay Star 3/1, Sweating and too keen in front 5 1/4l third in a novice at Newcastle most recent run; effective 8f, stays 10f, acts on GS and AW; good chance in this. Beaten five times, the last twice following wind surgery; should still have a say. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (10/11 +52%)Roker Roar |
10/11(+52%) | (4) Roker Roar 10/11, Met some interference but still improved on debut when fourth beaten 2 1/4l in a novice at Newcastle; from a strong course jockey and trainer team; bred for 8f+ and likely to progress further. Showed plenty more when a close fourth at Newcastle and he's bred for this longer trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (9/2 +44%)Cheshire Cat |
9/2(+44%) | (1) Cheshire Cat 9/2, Modest debut, lacked pace well beaten in a maiden here only start; gelded since; bred for middle-distances and improvement likely. Finished a well-beaten seventh over 1m here in October when easy to back at 14-1. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Only In Manila and New Bay Star have identical ratings so there should be little between them, although the latter is more likely to appreciate this test of stamina. Only In Manila's stable companion Cheshire Cat could leave his ordinary debut over a mile here behind him, but ROKER ROAR is preferred. Andrew Balding's colt took a pleasing step forward to finish fourth at Newcastle, despite meeting trouble close home, and he is bred to excel over middle distances.

Unlike New Bay Star and Only In Manila, ROKER ROAR did take a step forward on his final run and he's bred for this longer trip.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (13) (100/1 -150%)Stole My Heart |
100/1(-150%) | (13) Stole My Heart 100/1, Better effort up in trip when beaten 8l in a novice here last time; quite speedily bred but has shaped as though staying 7f; progressing but only looks useful at best. Modest sixth in two runs this winter, including C&D; improvement required. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (12) (80/1 -142%)Follow My Heart |
80/1(-142%) | (12) Follow My Heart 80/1, Sergei Prokofiev filly; half-sister to Adaay To Remember, smart at 6f; dam very useful at 5f at 2yo; faces a tough task on debut. Half-sister to 5 winners out of a winning mare; yard's newcomers usually better for a run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (6) (80/1 -400%)Mohmentous |
80/1(-400%) | (6) Mohmentous 80/1, Fair effort when third beaten 12l behind two useful sorts in a novice here on debut; wide draw; bred to be a miler; should make normal improvement. Beaten 12l when third of five in a 6f novice here last month; marked improvement necessary. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (11) (80/1 -220%)Celestique |
80/1(-220%) | (11) Celestique 80/1, Left 6l start and showed little thereafter when well beaten in a Lingfield novice on debut; quite speedily bred but needs to show much more. Blew the start and always behind on last month's Lingfield debut (1m); best watched. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (2) (200/1 -300%)Everest |
200/1(-300%) | (2) Everest 200/1, No-show from off the pace when comfortably held in a novice at Lingfield last time; wide draw and drop in trip look negatives; likely to do better in handicaps over 1m4f+. Modest maiden hurdler; well held in two Flat runs (1m2f); no appeal dropped to 7f. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

THE STONE POWER might not have improved quite as hoped between his first and second starts, but he did split two subsequent winners in third. The well-bred son of Kingman is fancied to appreciate the return to 7f and can make it third-time lucky. Breathe Easy was right behind the selection at Southwell so has to be feared, while Leonetto has found just one too good on each of his last two appearances and shouldn't remain a maiden for too much longer. Zambezi River, a 170,000gns yearling, is the most interesting newcomer.

Leonetto is a key player upped in trip but THE STONE POWER could be the answer.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (7/2 +71%)Nemov |
7/2(+71%) | (2) Nemov 7/2, Raced a bit wide and below form when beaten 7l in a handicap at Southwell last time; effective at 6f; could bounce back. C&D winner in 2024; two runs for new yard need bettering but not impossible down in class. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) (10/1 -43%)Cayman Tai |
10/1(-43%) | (9) Cayman Tai 10/1, Bit below form when beaten 4 1/4l in a handicap at Lingfield last time; hood first time; suited by 6f, probably has pace for 5f, acts on AW; capable but form erratic. Well treated on last year's best and addition of a hood looks a good move; not ruled out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (4) (80/1 -220%)Mckenna |
80/1(-220%) | (4) Mckenna 80/1, Too keen and made no impact from off the pace when down the field in a handicap at Chelmsford most recent; off a short break; effective at 7/8f; this drop in trip may suit. Well beaten in two runs for new yard and only dropped 1lb; had wind op since latest. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

WAISTCOAT can usually be relied upon to run his race and arrives on the back of a clear-cut Chelmsford success, with Em Four only fifth. His penalty means he must run off a figure in the 70s for the first time in his career, but he may be open to even more improvement. State Of Madness invariably attracts market attention and has made great strides since joining Charlie Clover so should do so again. City Cyclone was just behind a subsequent winner when a close-up third over C&D and rounds out the shortlist.

The drop in class and addition of headgear could see MR COOL return to form and he's well treated if that is the case.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (11/2 +8%)Educator |
11/2(+8%) | (5) Educator 11/2, Bit below his best when beaten 7l in a handicap at Lingfield last time. Suited by 12f and a sound surface, with his mark easing. Won twice in 2025 after wind surgery but has seemingly regressed in the meantime. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (9/2 -13%)Appier |
9/2(-13%) | (1) Appier 9/2, Enjoyed the run of the race when back to form, landing a handicap by 1/2l off a 2lb lower mark at Wolverhampton last time. Suited by 12–16f and acts well on the all-weather, though possibly flattered by that effort but clearly in form. Ideally positioned when winning last time but still a likely contender off 2lb higher. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (4/1 +0%)Bashful Boy |
4/1(+0%) | (3) Bashful Boy 4/1, Better than the result after messing up the start when beaten 2 1/4l off a 1lb higher mark at Wolverhampton last time. Stays up to 16f and acts on the all-weather. Can go well. He's not won for a long time and finishing effort can be questionable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (28/1 +15%)Lusaka |
28/1(+15%) | (7) Lusaka 28/1, Lacked pace when beaten 6 1/4l in a handicap here last time. Suited by 13–16f and acts on the all-weather. Not the most straightforward. Reverting to positive tactics may help but has yet to look at home on the AW. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (12/1 +14%)Dr Waksman |
12/1(+14%) | (8) Dr Waksman 12/1, Bit below form when fourth, beaten 27l in a maiden hurdle at Plumpton latest. Effective at 11f on the all-weather but needs more back on the Flat. Well beaten in two 1m4f handicaps before another disappointing run back over hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (10/3 +0%)Zoran |
10/3(+0%) | (2) Zoran 10/3, Below form well beaten in a handicap at Southwell latest; top course jockey; enjoys making it; effective up to 16f, acts on AW; below last win mark. Last run too bad to be true and he always commands respect at this track. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (4) (9/1 0%)I'd Go Maniac |
9/1(0%) | (4) I'd Go Maniac 9/1, Below form when fourth, beaten 12l off 73 last time and runs off the same mark here. Effective from 10–12f and acts on the all-weather. Remains fairly treated but needs to find more. Won a steadily run 1m4f handicap but truer fractions exposed him next time. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Appier had Bashful Boy two and a quarter lengths behind in third when he won over an extended 2m at Wolverhampton. However, the latter is 3lb better off and could turn things around. Even so, the well-handicapped EDUCATOR might be the answer. Open to improvement over this trip, the Henrietta Knight-trained seven-year-old is dangerous to underestimate, with the booking of Billy Loughnane a highly positive appointment.

He had a shocker last time at Southwell but ZORAN usually runs well here, as was the case on his penultimate start.

1st (3) (7/2 -17%)High On Hope |
7/2(-17%) | (3) High On Hope 7/2, Improved, good attitude landing a handicap by a head off a 1lb lower mark at Chelmsford last time; trainer in form; wide draw; effective 7/8f, acts on GS, GF and AW; workable mark still. This looks a deeper race than the one he won at Chelmsford two weeks ago; reliable though. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (8/1 +33%)Joolianoss |
8/1(+33%) | (5) Joolianoss 8/1, Ran to form, maybe still needed run beaten 5 1/4l in a handicap at Lingfield last time; effective 8-10f, acts well on AW; should be at peak fitness now. Three wins last January before a ten-month absence; latest run threatened better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (15/8 +46%)Gilet |
15/8(+46%) | (1) Gilet 15/8, Ran to form but maybe didn't stay when fourth beaten 4 1/2l in a handicap at Lingfield last time; effective at 7/8f and may just get 10f; can go well down in trip. Yet to win a handicap but he has threatened, including C&D; should make a bold bid. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (6/1 -50%)Towerlands |
6/1(-50%) | (2) Towerlands 6/1, Improved again when second beaten 2l off 79 last time, 1lb higher here; effective 7/8f, acts on sound surface; likely to go well again. Ended 2025 in fine form but this contest demands another personal best from him. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) (16/1 -78%)Mostawaa |
16/1(-78%) | (8) Mostawaa 16/1, Ran to his recent level when beaten 3l off a 2lb higher mark here last time; suited by 8f, acts on any surface; needs more but mark is easing. Drew a blank in 2025; latest C&D run was okay but more is needed to end his barren spell. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (80/1 -220%)Renesmee |
80/1(-220%) | (6) Renesmee 80/1, Below form when sixth beaten 8l off 74 last time, running from the same mark here; effective at 8-10f and handles all-weather; needs to bounce back. Wide-margin 1m2f win (Class 6) in November; well held off this mark twice since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (9/2 +59%)King Of Fury |
9/2(+59%) | (4) King Of Fury 9/2, Ran to form when beaten 4l in a handicap here last time; had been in good form before that; suited by 8f and acts on any going; a little inconsistent. C&D winner but not at his best when behind Gilet here last time; others appeal more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) (10/1 -43%)Billy Mill |
10/1(-43%) | (7) Billy Mill 10/1, Travelled wide but proved much the best when landing a handicap by a length off a 5lb lower mark here last time; effective at 7/8f and acts on any surface; should go well off his new mark. Got up late to win a 7f handicap here two weeks ago; stays 1m and respected up 5lb. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Towerlands was skilfully placed to register a hat-trick, although cracks appeared when he failed to justify favouritism over 7f at Newcastle most recently. Stepping back up to a mile can help but preference is still for HIGH ON HOPE, whose recent Chelmsford success advertised his battling qualities and he is only 1lb higher. Gilet and Billy Mill are other appealing options.

There wasn't much between Joolianoss and GILET at Lingfield last time and both can benefit from the return to 1m.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (5/1 +17%)Midnight's Dream |

Ended 2025 quietly but Oisin Murphy booked for his return and blinkers are now added. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (7/1 +0%)Panelli |
7/1(+0%) | (7) Panelli 7/1, Best work late, ran to form beaten 2l off a 2lb higher mark at Southwell last time; effective 5-8f, acts on GF and AW; inconsistent in short career. Latest Southwell run (7f) was his best for new connections; return to 1m a plus; contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (12/1 +0%)Signcastle City |
12/1(+0%) | (5) Signcastle City 12/1, Below form when beaten 7 1/4l in a handicap at Southwell last time; drawn wide; effective at 7f and 8f and acts on the all-weather; continues to drop in the weights. Failed to win last year and never dangerous on first run in 2026; lowly mark but risky. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (20/1 +0%)I Am Me |
20/1(+0%) | (8) I Am Me 20/1, Ran to form when beaten 2 1/4l off a 1lb higher mark here last time; effective at 8f and 9f on the all-weather; needs to find more to feature. Third of nine behind Port Road here two weeks ago when 66-1; not sure to build on it. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (33/1 -65%)Trojan Storm |

Last year's two wins were 1m4f and 1m6f; opposable at 1m. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

FIGHT YOUR CORNER seemed well suited by stepping up to a mile at Southwell last month and could have plenty more to offer now he goes handicapping from a lenient opening mark. Port Road made the most of a drop in the ratings when he scored over C&D a fortnight ago and can cement his authority over the third-placed I Am Me, who has been nudged down 1lb and has each-way appeal.

Panelli is respected but the unexposed FIGHT YOUR CORNER can make a winning handicap debut.

(2) (9/1 +0%)Mr Baloo |
9/1(+0%) | (2) Mr Baloo 9/1, Ran to form when beaten 7 1/2l in a handicap at Lingfield last time. Effective at 8-10f, best on the all-weather; needs to find a bit more than of late. Struggled since September and now steps up in trip with a point to prove. |

(4) (12/1 0%)Ludo's Landing |
12/1(0%) | (4) Ludo's Landing 12/1, Back to form 5l third in a handicap at Lingfield most recent run; off a short-break; effective 10-12f, acts on any, but may prefer sound surface; much more like it latest. C&D winner; latest Lingfield 3rd was a step back in the right direction; not ruled out. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Woodstock City has to be respected following his short-head second at Lingfield earlier in the month. That said, marginal preference is for the unexposed SHRIMP SHADY, who bounced back to form when hitting the crossbar at the same venue. With the prospect of further improvement likely, Andrew Balding's colt can come out on top. Son Of Man and Ludo's Landing are the pick of the remainder.

Unexposed 4yo SHRIMP SHADY (nap) could be the answer on the back of his good second at Lingfield last month. Umbria is feared most.

(1) (2/1 +43%)Von Dutch |
2/1(+43%) | (1) Von Dutch 2/1, Outpaced when finishing 9l third in a novice at Wolverhampton last time; trainer in form. Effective at 9f, middle-distance bred, acts on all-weather, and could improve further now stepping up in trip for this handicap debut. Looks a likely improver now stepping up to middle distances for his handicap debut. |

10/3(+17%) | (2) Maxwellcan 10/3, Disappointing handicap debut when beaten 8l in a nursery at Newcastle last time; top course jockey; off a short-break and newly gelded; likely improver now handicapping. Disappointing at two but gelded since latest run and middle distances should suit better. |

(4) (5/1 +23%)Trust No One |
5/1(+23%) | (4) Trust No One 5/1, Scored very cosily up in trip, running at least to form landing a handicap by 1/2l off a 3lb lower mark at Newcastle last time; suited by 8-10f, acts on AW; possibly more to come. Off mark when quickening best in slowly-run 1m2f race at Newcastle; stamina query at 1m4f. |

(5) (25/1 -56%)Cospicua |
25/1(-56%) | (5) Cospicua 25/1, Poor again when well beaten in a novice at Southwell last time. Likely to need 10f or further and may have been flattered by her debut run. Steps up in trip for h'cap debut and may improve but her sire has a poor record over 1m2f+. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Trust No One accounted for ONYEISI when winning at Newcastle and has to be respected as a result. The latter, who again filled the runner-up berth at Lingfield last weekend, is better off at the weights, though, and the application of a first-time visor may help him to reverse the form. The rest all have questions to answer, but Von Dutch is the pick of them on his handicap debut.

Charlie Johnston could hold the key and MAXWELLCAN is preferred to Onyeisi.
Ths is the racecard key.
