The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

HORUS was less than a length behind the winner when filling fourth place over C&D when last seen in January and he makes plenty of appeal off a 1lb lower mark in a first-time visor. Rye's third at this venue three weeks ago suggests that she could be the main threat, although Battle Point and He's An Angel should not be discounted.

The vote goes to RYE who returned from a break with a good third over C&D three weeks ago. He's An Angel is feared most.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

WHISKEY SUNRISE put in a career best when a nose second over C&D earlier in the year and a 1lb rise for that effort may not be enough to stop him from going one better on this occasion. Homme De Fer was third that day and is likely to be in the mix once again, while Timely Affair and Unknown Journey are others to note.

Preference is for HOMME DE FER whose form figures of 141333 since December include a strong-finishing third at Chelmsford last month.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (50/1 -52%)Purple Sky |
50/1(-52%) | (1) Purple Sky 50/1, Again below form beaten 4l off a 2lb higher mark at Wolverhampton last time; usually held up; effective 10/11f on sound surface; inconsistent in Ireland, bit to prove for new yard. 150/1(-200%) | (9) Senseofentitlement 150/1, Never in it from off the pace beaten 9l in a classified race at Lingfield last time; only notable effort over 8f on AW; no worthwhile form since 2023. Sole win was in July 2023 and he's not finished closer than sixth since then; opposable. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

VOLENDAM has filled second place on three of her last four starts and Tony Carroll's filly appears to be the safest pick in an open event. Dubai Harbour also hit the crossbar on his most recent outing and has to be of interest as a result. Scenario edges out Port Noir and Whiteley Way to be the pick of the remainder.

Preference is for VOLENDAM (nap) who is on the same mark as for her close call at Southwell on Saturday.

15/8(+0%) | (5) Enemy Agent 15/8, Earthlight gelding; half-brother to Kind Of Kiss, useful at 12f; dam smart at 10f; top connections and wouldn't need to be a star to get involved on debut. In good hands and, judged on breeding, should be suited by the surface; shortlisted. |

12/1(+14%) | (4) Eagle Thunder 12/1, £44,000 Sergei Prokofiev colt; half-brother to One Night Thunder, useful at 8f; dam useful at 7f; looks up against it on debut. £44,000 yearling; bred to act well on the surface; may show promise. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

16/1(-88%) | (2) Receipt 16/1, Touch green in front on likeable Flat debut when second beaten 3/4l in a novice at Southwell latest; effective 7f, further will suit, acts on AW; more to come. Down the field in bumpers; fared a lot better (close second) in 7f Flat event at Southwell. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

(10) (150/1 -88%)Midnight Media |
150/1(-88%) | (10) Midnight Media 150/1, Very green and never really raised a gallop well beaten in a novice here only start; all to prove. Last of 12 in 7f contest at Kempton (wore hood; now removed). |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Receipt and Freda have shown some promise but don't set the bar very high and it might pay to focus on the newcomers. Enemy Agent, Pace Attack and Franschhoek all have winners in their pedigrees and form a shortlist of intriguing debutants for future reference. However, GENERIC represents a yard that has hit the ground running over the last few weeks and Andrew Balding's suitably-bred newcomer edges a tentative vote in a wide-open maiden.

Freda and Receipt bring the best form, while GENERIC, Enemy Agent and Eagle Thunder are interesting newcomers.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (7/2 -27%)Thestral |
7/2(-27%) | (3) Thestral 7/2, Game effort when outstaying rivals after being headed to land a novice at Newcastle by 1 1/4l last time; blinkers first time; off a short-break; effective 7f, acts on AW; brother to Group 1 winner Dream Of Dreams, has more to offer this term and blinkers now tried. Seemingly not straightforward but otherwise a nicely bred sort who may improve further. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (13/2 +46%)Ebn Sabt |
13/2(+46%) | (5) Ebn Sabt 13/2, Didn't find much in second time blinkers when fourth beaten 3 1/4l off 67 last time, same mark here; effective 7/8f, acts on AW; tiny bit quirky. Contrasting performances since wearing blinkers; mixed messages. |

7/1(-75%) | (7) Armstrong 7/1, Did not build at all on previous two runs when well beaten in a novice at Chelmsford latest; trainer in form; effective at 7f on good to firm; might improve now handicapping. Boughey runner who looks the type to improve now handicapping; one to note. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (10/1 -100%)Hamaleel |
10/1(-100%) | (6) Hamaleel 10/1, Ran about to form made plenty of use of up a fraction in trip when runner-up at Wolverhampton last time; wide draw; suited by 8f, possibly needs a sound surface, enjoys making running; honest type can go well again. 40/1(-21%) | (8) Gnocchi 40/1, Never in it from off the pace and eased late down the field in a nursery at Yarmouth most recent; effective 6/7f, acts on sound surface; plenty to prove. Failed to beat a rival on handicap debut when last seen. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

HAMALEEL's C&D win from January is a solid yardstick and, having performed well to finish second when upped in class at Wolverhampton most recently, Archie Watson's filly is a key player off the same mark. Ebn Sabt has form that ties in with the selection and can figure if his Lingfield success in first-time blinkers wasn't a flash in the pan. Although last of four on his latest start, he notably tackled higher-rated opposition than he faces tonight. Last-time-out winners Just A Gambler and Thestral also command respect.

This first crack at his useful mother's optimum trip may enable triple silver medallist STATION BAR to earn a gold.

Useful hurdler; runner-up at Southwell in latest Flat start; again has place claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (16/1 +20%)Serviceman |
16/1(+20%) | (7) Serviceman 16/1, Confirmed debut level when fourth beaten 4 1/2l in a maiden at Lingfield latest; top course trainer; off a long absence; effective 8-10f on good and AW; might need this. Showed some ability in autumn 2024 for Owen Burrows; heed the market signals. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (50/1 +67%)Keep It Cool |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (66/1 +56%)Edward Sexton |
66/1(+56%) | (3) Edward Sexton 66/1, Slow away and well beaten in a novice at Southwell latest; bumper winner should be suited now up in trip but handicaps will be more his thing. May do better over this trip but handicaps are likely to be his ideal scene. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (150/1 -50%)Victors Spirit |
150/1(-50%) | (6) Victors Spirit 150/1, Improved on initial Flat effort beaten 5 1/2l in a novice at Southwell last time; effective at 11f on AW; tough task here but has a future in handicaps. Finished behind Roadlesstravelled at Southwell on return to the Flat. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

CONSTITUTION HILL is a proven crowd pleaser with the demolition job he provided on his Flat debut at Southwell last month being extremely impressive and the 7lb penalty is of little concern for Nicky Henderson's superstar. Classical Allusion cosily landed a maiden at the same venue on his racecourse bow last September. With improvement likely, Andrew Balding's four-year-old is an obvious danger. His stablemate Serviceman and Roadlesstravelled are each-way alternatives.

Star attraction CONSTITUTION HILL appears set to make it 2-2 on the Flat, en route to Group targets.

(1) (14/1 -133%)High Point |
14/1(-133%) | (1) High Point 14/1, Again ran to a poor level down the field in a maiden hurdle at Huntingdon most recent; enjoys making it; stays 14f, acts on good to soft and AW; remains above last win mark. Four-time winner on turf but is less solid on AW form. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

There are a couple of C&D winners in here and KNIGHT TEMPLAR is the most interesting of them. He put a disappointing Lingfield effort behind him when finishing a solid second at Southwell and the five-year-old has since won over hurdles. Naasma is the other previous track-and-trip winner and she has performed well in defeat at Lingfield this year. Sword Of Wessex is another to take seriously.

The new trip may enable SWORD OF WESSEX to take advantage of a reduced mark and open his account. Knight Templar is feared most.

Nothing to suggest she's best caught fresh; will need to improve on previous AW efforts. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

MUMAYAZ can send his supporters home smiling and looks the clear pick of Tony Carroll's pair now tried in first-time blinkers following an improved Wolverhampton second. Stable companion Terries Royale showed a bit more at the Midlands venue latest and commands respect, while it'll be interesting to see what the market makes of course scorer Mr Ubiquitous and Safari Dream on their return to action.

More questions than answers. MUMAYAZ, who's well treated in first-time blinkers, gets the tentative vote.
Ths is the racecard key.
