In what could be a fast and furious five-furlong dash, it might pay to side with the David Loughnane-trained TOKYO DRIFT. The daughter of Showcasing is a half-sister to Star Of Lady M, who won her first two starts as a juvenile, and she should get a nice early position from stall three. Out Of The Stars makes plenty of appeal and she must be taken seriously for her in-form stable, while others to note include Rogue Dream and Ziggy's Phoenix.

A field of newcomers but Archie Watson has few peers when it comes to readying an early juvenile and OUT OF THE STARS should be fast if her pedigree is any guide. Amo Racing look to have a strong band of 2-y-os and Tokyo Drift is feared most.

The market should provide clues but at this stage the vote goes to OUT OF THE STARS ahead of Ziggy's Phoenix

Annie Law made a winning handicap debut over C&D in February and she merits the utmost respect with William Buick aboard, but a 7lb rise for that success would appear to be harsh. With that in mind, a chance is taken on ENBORNE. Andrew Balding's filly didn't show much in novice events but she's bred to be far better than an opening mark of 65 and it would be no surprise were she to take a step forward on her handicap bow. Topo Chico continues to run well in defeat and first-time cheekpieces could elicit further improvement.

ANNIE LAW saw off a trio of next-time winners when landing a C&D handicap in February and her revised mark probably underestimates her. Phoenix Glow and Topo Chico look the main threats.

With the form of her C&D success having substance, ANNIE LAW gets the vote. Enborne is second choice.

Jim Crowley was bullish regarding the prospects of YAANAAS in the aftermath of his debut success and the gelded son of Ulysses can follow up with further improvement highly likely. Quantico must carry a double penalty having won both of his starts, but he remains of significant interest. Orzo hasn't been seen since her 7f success in October 2021, but it's interesting that connections persist with this well-bred filly and any market support should be noted for her.

YAANAAS may not have made it to the track until this year, but the 4-y-o looked a good prospect when making a winning debut at Newcastle last month, scoring with plenty in hand having led on the bridle. He can follow up with improvement to come, though Quantico arrives having won both of his starts so isn't taken lightly. Timeless Melody completes the shortlist.

A fascinating race in which Roger Varian's recent debut winner YAANAAS gets the vote ahead of Quantico and Timeless Melody.

HIGH COURT JUDGE has been a revelation since joining the Henry Spiller stable and the hat-trick looks very much on the cards as he looks to supplement last month's success over C&D off 3lb lower. So Chic won well at Wolverhampton last time out and the step up in trip could eke out further improvement. Gold Aura and Kitaro Kich can also have a say in proceedings.

SO CHIC did well to get up from off the pace at Wolverhampton last time and still looks fairly treated after a 2 lb rise. Starlight Nation showed promise in his qualifying runs and can make his mark in handicaps so he's a possible danger. The hat-trick seeking High Court Judge completes the shortlist.

The vote goes to progressive gelding HIGH COURT JUDGE (nap), who made it 2-2 in handicaps with his win over C&D last month.

ARCTICIAN has been in terrific form of late and the step up in trip could unlock further improvement as Simon Dow's charge looks to bring up the hat-trick. His record around here bodes well and the five-year-old should have too much for Tollard Royal and Intercessor, who makes his seasonal return. Completing the shortlist are the likes of Darwell Lion, Fantasy Believer and Golden Sands.

TOLLARD ROYAL signed off 2022 with an excellent second at Beverley and he's already tasted success over C&D, so he takes marginal preference over Arctician, who scored at Lingfield a fortnight ago. Spinaround is another player on just his second outing for a shrewd stable.

It might be worth sticking with the resurgent ARCTICIAN, who has won from tough draws on Polytrack in his last two starts.

Runner-up on his last two outings, including once over C&D, WHERE'S TOM deserves a change in luck and he can get that on this occasion in a winnable contest. The hat-trick seeking Lednikov can give him the most to think about, ahead of Dynakite, who was a determined winner here over a shorter trip in January. Solanna and Trojan Truth cannot be ruled out either.

LEDNIKOV looked better than ever when landing a double at Southwell in December and, despite a 4-month break, he's worth a chance to complete the hat-trick on polytrack debut. Where's Tom looks a danger following a solid showing at Lingfield and Solanna always merits respect at this course.

5yo LEDNIKOV completed a double off only 1lb lower at Southwell in December and is a big player if he can pick up where he left off.
Ths is the racecard key.
